1.Assessment of health exposure risks from preservatives in beverages sold near primary schools in Anshun

Objective:
To quantitatively assess the health risk of preservatives from beverages around primary schools in Anshun City, and to provide scientific basis for precise food safety supervision.
Methods:
From December 2023 to July 2024, 602 beverage samples were randomly collected from within 100 meters of 19 primary schools in Anshun City. The content of benzoic acid, sorbic acid, and dehydroacetic acid was detected according to GB 5009 series standards. Combined with children s physiological parameters (body weight 30 kg, daily intake 0.15 L), the Hazard Quotient (HQ) and Hazard Index (HI) models were used to evaluate health risks.
Results:
The total detection rate of preservatives from beverages around primary schools was 63.0%, and the total over limit rate was 9.0%. The detection rate of preservatives in flavored beverages was the highest (72.6%), and the highest over limit rate of preservatives in special purpose beverages was the highest (17.2%). The single preservative HQ (benzoic acid up to 0.47 ) and mixed HI (up to 0.55) of all samples were below 1(safety threshold). However, the HQ value of benzoic acid in flavored beverages (0.47) was 2.9 times that of sorbic acid (0.16), contributing significantly to health risk. Sensitivity analysis showed that if the daily consumption increased to 0.3 L, the HI value of flavored beverages would rise to 1.11, exceeding the safety threshold. Enterprise scale analysis showed that the exceedance rate of special purpose beverages in large enterprises reached 30.0%, while micro enterprises, accounting for a dominant market share (52.2%), constituted the main source of children s daily exposure to their products.
Conclusions
The overall health risk of perservatives in beverages sold near primary schools in Anshun City is controllable, but there is a noticeable risk of gradient. The risk of children’s exposure to preservatives through beverage consumption should not be ignored.
2.Dynamic Pathogenesis and Tiered Intervention Strategies for Allergic Diseases from the Perspective of "Latent Pathogens with Transformative Potential" Theory

Allergic diseases exhibited the characteristics of latent concealment and dynamic transmutation, which highly align with the pathogenic features of "latency and transformative change" described in the theory of latent pathogens. Based on the "latent pathogens with transformative potential" theory, this paper systematically explored the mechanisms of occurrence, transmission, and outcome of allergic diseases. It proposed that the insufficiency of kidney essence is the root cause enabling pathogens to lurk internally, leading to disease onset due to deficient healthy qi and lurking pathogens; the dysfunction of sanjiao serves as the pathway for pathogen stagnation, driving multi-system transmission; the accumulation of phlegm, stasis, and toxins constitutes the predicament of a protracted course, ultimately resulting in intractable pathological entanglement. Accordingly, a tiered intervention strategy is formulated,i.e. during the latency period, treatment should tonify the kidney and replenish essence to consolidate the foundation and halt the tendency of pathogens to lurk internally; during the transmission period, treatment should regulate sanjiao to intercept disease transmission and curb multi-system proliferation; during the protracted period, treatment should purge phlegm and resolve stasis to eliminate stubborn lesions, and break the vicious cycle of chronic accumulation and damage.
3.Chinese expert consensus on the diagnosis and treatment of chronic pain after lung surgery with integrated Traditional Chinese and Western medicine (2026 edition)

Chronic post-surgical pain (CPSP) is a common long-term complication following lung surgery. Its high incidence significantly impacts patients’ quality of life and functional recovery, and imposes a substantial socioeconomic burden. This consensus aims to systematically establish a standardized integrated Chinese and Western medicine diagnostic and treatment framework for chronic post-lung surgery pain (CPLSP). Based on the latest domestic and international evidence-based medical research and multidisciplinary clinical experience, the working group comprehensively elaborates on core issues regarding CPLSP, including its definition, epidemiology, pathogenesis, clinical assessment, Western medical treatment, traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) treatment, and integrated strategies. The consensus emphasizes a patient-centered approach, adhering to the principles of multimodality, individualization, and stepwise management, highlighting the synergistic advantages of integrating Chinese and Western medicine throughout the entire perioperative management cycle encompassing "perioperative anti-inflammation, acute analgesia, and chronic rehabilitation." Through systematic literature retrieval and evidence integration, a total of 9 core recommendations were established to provide scientifically sound and clinically practical guidance.
4.Ethical dilemmas and solutions of artificial intelligence-empowered medical education

Artificial intelligence has brought leapfrog development to medical education, and the fourth generation of medical education, characterized by health-centered, cross-disciplinary integration and extensive application of AI technologies, is on the horizon. AI-empowered medical education provides educators with multifaceted assistance, such as aiding in lesson plan design and facilitating curriculum planning. However, the particularity of medical education and the mechanical nature of AI algorithms have led to ethical dilemmas when AI is integrated into medical education, such as alienation of the teacher-student relationship and imbalance of teaching and learning relationship, the loss of humanistic spirit and deviation from the essence of medical education, as well as failure of subject rights and algorithm infringement of personal rights and interests. Confronting the ethical dilemmas of AI-empowered higher medical education, collaborative governance among the government, society, hospitals, and schools is necessitated. Countermeasures must be implemented across multiple dimensions, such as reshaping the individual teachers and students to consolidate the balance of teaching, strengthening the humanistic spirit to return medical humanities to their essence, and improving the ethical environment to safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of the subjects.
5.Analysis of social emotional competence development and related factors among disadvantaged children aged 3-6 in rural areas of Guangxi

Objective:
To investigate the development status and associated factors of social emotional competence(SEC) among disadvantaged children aged 3-6 in rural areas of Guangxi, so as to provide empirical evidence to address the negative impacts of their disadvantaged circumstance.
Methods:
In May 2025, using convenience sampling, a study was conducted with 1 426 children aged 3-6 from disadvantaged backgrounds attending 11 rural kindergartens in Guilin, Liuzhou, and Qinzhou, Guangxi. A self designed questionnaire was used to investigate children s personal basic information, family situation (parents education level, family structure, parent-child separation status, family poverty status, multiple disadvantaged situations, family function) and kindergarten situation. Social Emotional Learning Rating Form-Parent (SELRF-P) was used to assess their social emotional competence. Latent profile analysis (LPA) and multiple Logistic regression were applied for data classification and related factor analysis, respectively.
Results:
The social emotional competence of disadvantaged children was categorized into four groups: well adjusted group (4.77%, n =68), basically adjusted group (38.43%, n =548), potential risk group (25.11%, n =358), and high risk delayed development group (31.69%, n = 452). Multinomial Logistic regression analysis revealed that family poverty ( OR = 1.98 ), parental education level of high school/technical secondary school or below ( OR =2.89), non parental caregivers ( OR = 3.81 ), private and non model kindergartens ( OR =1.96, 3.52), younger age (3 or 4 years old) ( OR =2.61, 2.79), low family cohesion ( OR =4.05), weak family adaptability ( OR =3.95), and multiple disadvantages ( OR =2.35) were more likely to lead children into the high risk delayed group; children seperated from parents were more likely to fall into the potential risk group ( OR = 1.82), while children from divorced families were less likely to enter the basically adjusted group ( OR =0.45) (all P <0.05).
Conclusions
Social emotional competence among disadvantaged children aged 3-6 years in rural areas shows significant group heterogeneity. Age, specific types of disadvantage, family functioning, and kindergarten characteristics are the main related factors. Precise intervention measures should be paid to improve the social emotional developmental difficulties of various disadvantaged children.
6.Comparative analysis of the characteristics of imported malaria cases in Nanning City in 2024 and the same period of the previous year

Objective To investigate the epidemiological characteristics of malaria and provide a basis for developing improved prevention and control measures. Methods Data were obtained from the Chinese Disease Prevention and Control Information System. Malaria surveillance data for Nanning City from January 1,2023, to December 31,2024, were exported from the Infectious Disease Reporting Information Management Subsystem. The characteristics of the two groups of malaria cases were compared. Results A total of 103 imported malaria cases were reported in Nanning City in 2024, representing a 38.32% decrease compared with the same period of the previous year. No statistically significant difference were observed between cases reported in 2023 and 2024 in terms of average age, gender ratio, proportion of parasite species, and monthly reporting distribution;however, statistically significant differences were found in the proportion of reporting areas and current residence areas(χ2= 13.572 and 10.355, respectively; P = 0.001 and 0.035, respectively). The proportion of cases reported in Shanglin County and the proportion of cases residing in Shanglin County were both lower than those during the same period of the previous year. Conclusions The high aggregation of imported malaria cases in Nanning City has decreased. Medical institutions in areas other than Shanglin County should strengthen their vigilance against malaria.
7.Comparison of mortality and prognostic factors analysis in patients with septic shock in 2012 and 2022 in a Grade-A hospital

Objective:To compare the mortality of patients with septic shock in the intensive care unit of the emergency department of Beijing Chaoyang Hospital in 2012 and 2022, and analyze the risk factors affecting the prognosis of patients in each year.Methods:According to the diagnostic criteria of septic shock, 82 patients with septic shock admitted to the ICU of the emergency department of Beijing Chaoyang Hospital in 2012 and 52 patients with septic shock admitted to the ICU in 2022 were included. The clinical data of patients in each year and the related indicators that may affect the prognosis were compared. The risk factors of death in patients with septic shock in each year were screened by multivariate logistic regression analysis, and the predictive value of risk factors on death was evaluated by receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve.Results:In 2012, 30 patients with septic shock died and 52 survived. The fatality rate was 36.59%. In 2022, 16 patients with septic shock died and 36 survived, with a fatality rate of 30.77%. There was significant difference in mortality between 2012 and 2022 (χ 2=6.805, P=0.009). In 2012 and 2022, the mortality of septic shock patients with different gender, age and Sequential Organ failure assessment (SOFA) score had statistical significance ( P<0.05). Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that gender ( OR=1.554, P=0.037), lactic acid ( OR=1.062, P=0.035) and SOFA score ( OR=1.199, P=0.028) were the risk factors affecting the prognosis of patients in 2012, gender ( OR=1.234, P=0.028), total cholesterol ( OR=1.358, P=0.028) and SOFA score ( OR=1.388, P=0.034) were the risk factors affecting the prognosis of patients in 2022. ROC curve analysis results showed that SOFA score had higher sensitivity and specificity in predicting death of septic shock patients in 2012 (all P<0.05), and lactic acid, total cholesterol and SOFA score had higher sensitivity and specificity in predicting death of septic shock patients in 2022 (all P<0.05). Conclusions:The case fatality rate of septic shock patients in 2022 is lower than that in 2012, the morbidity and mortality rate of male patients are still higher than that of female patients, and the case fatality rate of patients increases with age. SOFA score was an independent risk factor for the prognosis of septic shock patients in 2012 and 2022.
8.SNG162 activates the estrogen signaling pathway at the membrane initiation of glioblastoma by upregulating ER-α36 ex-pression

Objective The aim of this study was to explore the effects of changes in the estrogen receptor alpha 36(ER-α36)expression on the proliferation and membrane-initiated estrogen signaling in glioblastoma U251 cells.Methods The expression and localization of ER-α36 and EGFR glioblastoma U87 cells and U251 cells were determined by immunofluorescence,qRT-PCR and Western blot.The effect of upregulating ER-α 36 on U251 cell proliferation and estrogen signaling pathway activity by low con-centrations of 100 pmol/L icariin isomer(SNG162)was detected by MTT assay and Western blot.Results ER-α36 and EGFR were co-expressed in the cell membrane of glioblastoma.Compared with DMSO(control group),the expression ER-α36(P<0.01)and EG-FR increased in U251 cells treated with SNG162(P<0.05);Further experments also found that low concentrations of SNG162 in-creased the expression of cycle related proteins-cyclin D1,cyclin B,cyclin E and CDK4(P<0.01),and enhanced the proliferative a-bility of U251 cells(P<0.05).Conclusion The low concentration of SNG162 upregulates the expression of ER-α36,activates the estrogen-mediated ERK1/2 MAPK,p38 MAPK,and EGFR/Src signaling pathways,promotes glioblastoma proliferation,and activates the membrane initialized estrogen signaling pathway.
9.The application value of paediatric age-adjusted shock index in children with sepsis and septic shock

Objective:To explore the value of paediatric age-adjusted shock index(SIPA)in early identification of septic shock in children,and to evaluate the relationship between SIPA and disease severity and prognosis.Methods:The infected children admitted to the department of critical care medicine of the Children's Hospital Affiliated to Capital Institute of Pediatrics from May 2023 to July 2024 were collected. Dynamic assessment was performed 0 to 6 hours after admission. Patients diagnosed with sepsis without septic shock were classified as the sepsis group and those diagnosed with sepsis with septic shock were classified as the septic shock group. According to whether the blood pressure of the children decreased,they were divided into two groups:compensated septic shock group and decompensated septic shock group. The difference of SIPA among the three groups was analyzed,and the predictive value of SIPA on case fatality rate,lactate level,pediatric critical illness score,ventilator utilization rate and length of hospital stay were analyzed.Results:Among 203 children with sepsis,112 were males and 91 were females. There were 146 cases in the sepsis group,37 cases in the compensated septic shock group and 20 cases in the decompensated septic shock group. There was no significant difference between the three groups in gender( P>0.05),but there was a statistically significant difference in age( χ 2=32.905, P<0.001). There was no significant difference in age between the sepsis group and the compensated septic shock group( P>0.05). The age of sepsis group and decompensated septic shock group,compensated septic shock group and decompensated septic shock group were statistically significant( χ 2=29.431, P<0.001; χ 2=19.764, P=0.001). The proportion of increased SIPA was statistically different among the three groups,with both the compensated septic shock group and the decompensated septic shock group being higher than the sepsis group( χ2=20.383, P<0.001; χ2=33.600, P<0.001). The decompensated septic shock group was higher than the compensated septic shock group( χ2=6.555, P=0.01). SIPA was correlated with case fatality rate,lactate level,pediatric critical illness score,ventilator use rate and length of stay of the children,with statistically significant differences( P<0.05). Conclusion:The increase of SIPA can be used for the early identification of septic shock in children,and it has a certain early warning value for the prognosis assessment of sepsis and septic shock.
10.Effects of transverse cervical artery related skin flaps in repairing neck and shoulder wounds

Objective To explore the effects of transverse cervical artery related skin flaps in repairing skin soft tissue defects in the neck and shoulder.Methods A total of 13 patients with soft tissue defects in neck and shoulder admitted to Linyi People's Hospital from January 2018 to January 2022 were selected.The wounds of patients were repaired with transverse cervical artery related skin flaps,and the donor area was repaired with direct suturing and/or full-thick skin graft from the inguinal area.The survival,appearance and texture of the flap after surgery were recorded.The wound healing in the donor area and the survival of the grafted skin were observed.The follow-up was conducted for 5 to 12 months,and the appearance of the grafted flap and the recovery of function in the surgical area were observed.Results The flaps had good survival in the first stage after surgery,the color and texture of the flap matched well with the surrounding tissue,and the wound healing in the donor area was good.During the follow-up,the function and appearance of neck and shoulder for patients recovered well.Conclusion The advantages of transverse cervical artery related skin flaps in repairing skin soft tissue defects in the neck and shoulder is that the color and texture of the flap matched well with the surrounding tissue,with reliable blood circulation,and the appearance and postoperative function recover well,which is worthy of promotion and application in clinic.
