Objective To explore the impact of meteorological factors on the incidence of scarlet fever in Xicheng District of Beijing, and to provide a scientific basis for formulating targeted prevention and control measures. Methods Daily scarlet fever incidence data and corresponding meteorological data from 2010 to 2019 in Xicheng District of Beijing were collected. Using year, month, and day of the week as time-stratified variables, a conditional logistic regression model with a time-stratified case-crossover design was employed to analyze the impact of different meteorological factors on the number of scarlet fever cases in Xicheng District, while controlling for long-term trends, seasonality and other confounding factors. Results From 2010 to 2019, a total of 3,195 cases of scarlet fever were reported in Xicheng District, with an average annual incidence rate of 24.17/100 000. The overall trend showed fluctuating decline, during which three incidence peaks occurred, with the highest incidence rate observed in 2011. No severe or fatal cases were reported. The incidence of scarlet fever exhibited a distinct seasonal bimodal distribution, primarily concentrated between April to June and November to January of the following year. The conditional logistic regression results showed that the average relative humidity and average temperature were positively correlated with scarlet fever cases (β=0.0203, β=0.0613, P＜0.001), while the average vapor pressure was negatively correlated with scarlet fever cases (β=-0.1468, P＜0.001). Increases average relative humidity and average temperature were risk factors for scarlet fever incidence (OR=1.0205，95%CI=1.0150 -1.0261；OR=1.0632，95%CI=1.0379 -1.0891). For every 1.00% increase in average relative humidity, the number of scarlet fever cases increased by 2.05% (1.50% –2.61%). Similarly, for every 1^。C rise in average temperature, the number of cases increased by 6.32% (3.79% – 8.91%). In contrast, an increase in average vapor pressure had a protective effect against scarlet fever (OR=0.8635,95%CI=0.8392-0.8885). For every 1 hPa increase in average vapor pressure, the number of scarlet fever cases decreased by 13.65% (11.15%–16.08%). Conclusion The average relative humidity, average temperature and average vapor pressure are the primary meteorological factors influencing the incidence of scarlet fever in Xicheng District of Beijing, and can be utilized as indicators for the prevention, control, surveillance and early warning of scarlet fever.

Objective To compare the epidemic characteristics of seasonal influenza in Xicheng District, Beijing, between 2018-2019 and 2023-2024. Methods The present study was a cross-sectional study. The influenza cases and etiological surveillance data of Xicheng District, Beijing in 2018-2019 and 2023-2024, respectively, were analyzed to study the differences in the incidence rate of influenza cases in different ages, regions, occupations, and etiological detection results during the four years. Results There were significant differences in the incidence rates of influenza (χ²=37 038.65，P＜0.05) and the interval between visits (Z=468.692, P < 0.05) in 2018, 2019, 2023 and 2024. There were statistically significant differences in the incidence rates of influenza among different age groups, streets, and occupations during the four years (Z=75.646, 209.276, 72.132, 361.176, 43.570, all P < 0.05). Compared with 2018-2019, the growth rate of influenza in Xicheng District, Beijing in 2023-2024 was the highest in the 15-24 year-old group, Tianqiao Street, and housework and unemployed people. The difference in the interval between influenza visits among people of different age groups during these 4 years was statistically significant (P < 0.05). The growth rate of the interval between influenza visits in Xicheng District, Beijing in 2023-2024 was the highest in the 15-24 year-old group, while it showed a decrease in the 0-4 year-old group. The etiology in 2018-2019 was mainly H1N1 and H3N2 subtypes, and in 2023-2024 it was mainly H3N2 subtype and influenza B, and the peak values of H1N1, H3N2 subtype and influenza B in 2023-2024 were all higher than those in 2018-2019. Conclusion During the epidemic period, non-medical interventions have changed the transmission mode, seasonal peak and subtype distribution of influenza virus. As the epidemic has eased, the pattern of influenza has gradually rebounded.

ObjectiveThis paper aims to investigate the material basis of the anti-inflammatory efficacy and mechanism of action of Bushen Tongdu prescription （BSTDP）. MethodsThe chemical components of BSTDP and its blood-absorbed components in vivo were systematically identified by using ultra-performance liquid chromatography-linear ion trap-electrostatic field orbitrap high-resolution mass spectrometry （UPLC-LIT-Orbitrap-MS）. Network pharmacology was employed to screen blood-absorbed bioactive components and potential targets of this formula. A protein-protein interaction （PPI） network of core targets was constructed to conduct enrichment analysis. Molecular docking was further utilized to verify the binding affinity between key components and targets. The inflammatory model was established and verified in vivo by using a transgenic zebrafish Tg （mpx： GFP）. At three days post-fertilization （3 dpf）， larvae of zebrafish were randomly assigned to blank group， model group， positive drug dexamethasone acetate group （75 μmol·L^-1）， and BSTDP groups with low， medium， and high doses （500， 1 000， and 2 000 mg·L^-1）. The distribution and quantity of neutrophils in the yolk sac region were observed under a fluorescence microscope. The mRNA expression levels of key genes in the toll-like receptor 4 （TLR4）/myeloid differentiation factor 88 （MyD88）/nuclear factor kappa-B （NF-κB） signaling pathway and inflammatory factors including interleukin （IL）-1β， IL-6， and tumor necrosis factor-α （TNF-α） were detected by Real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction （Real-time PCR）. ResultsA total of 120 chemical components were identified in BSTDP， among which 26 original components were confirmed by using serum pharmacochemical methods. A total of 227 common targets linking rheumatoid arthritis （RA） and the blood-absorbed components were screened by network pharmacology. It is suggested that pseudobrucine， vomicine， sinapine， rehmannioside， cinnamyl alcohol glycoside， and methylephedrine exert anti-inflammatory effects by acting on core targets including protein kinase B1 （Akt1）， signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 （STAT3）， tumor necrosis factor （TNF）， TLR4， mitogen-activated protein kinase 14 （MAPK14）， and phosphatidylinositol-4，5-bisphosphate 3-kinase catalytic subunit α （PIK3CA）， thereby modulating multiple signaling pathways such as TLR4 and NF-κB. In vivo verification in zebrafish demonstrates that the maximum tolerable concentration of Bushen Tongdu Formula is 2 000 mg·L^-1. Compared to those in the blank group， zebrafish in the model group showed a significantly higher number of neutrophils in the yolk sac region （P<0.01） and rising mRNA levels of TLR4， MyD88， NF-κB， TNF-α， IL-6， and IL-1β （P<0.01）. Compared to that in the model group， the number of neutrophils was significantly reduced in BSTDP groups with medium and high doses， as well as the dexamethasone acetate group （P<0.05， P<0.01）. There was no statistically significant difference in the low dose group. The mRNA expression levels of TLR4， MyD88， NF-κB， TNF-α， IL-6， and IL-1β were significantly down-regulated （P<0.05， P<0.01）. ConclusionThis paper identifies the material basis of the efficacy of BSTDP， demonstrating that the formula can exert an anti-inflammatory effect through the TLR4/MyD88/NF-κB signaling pathway. The results provide scientific experimental evidence for its further clinical application.

Objective: To develop a convenient, direct, and highly sensitive method for screening trace chemical additives in complex Chinese patent medicines, thereby addressing core technological bottlenecks in pharmaceutical analysis and quality control. Methods: A brush ionization probe device was independently designed and constructed, and an efficient detection method was established through systematic optimization of key parameters. Twenty-three Chinese patent medicine samples, representing 6 dosage forms (capsules, tablets, pills, granules, powders, and liquid preparations), were analyzed using 10 common chemical additives as target analytes. Results: All samples were successfully analyzed without complex pretreatment, and 5 chemical additives were detected in 7 Chinese patent medicines. The brush ionization probe device exhibited cost-effectiveness (~0.2 USD per probe), operational simplicity, rapid analysis (~10s per sample), high efficiency, and minimal reagent consumption (~10 μL per sample). Conclusion: This advancement is expected to provide an innovative scientific tool for improving the generality and convenience of on-site quality control, while promoting technological progress in disciplines such as pharmacology and traditional Chinese medicine.

Background/Aims: Liver transplantation (LT) following total hepatectomy is a life-saving treatment for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). The HCC recurrence after LT hinders the effectiveness of the procedure. The objective of this study is to develop a pre-operative risk stratification model based on a liquid biopsy. Methods: We conducted a comprehensive multi-omics study of 260 HCC patients from three centers, including clinical data, low-coverage whole-genome sequencing of cell-free DNA (cfDNA) from plasma, as well as whole-exome, single-nucleus RNA, and spatial transcriptomics from matched tumor and non-tumor tissues. Results: We identified cfDNA-derived copy number alteration (CNA) signatures associated with post-transplant recurrence. By integrating cfDNA-derived CNA profiles with single-cell transcriptomic data, we traced recurrence-associated cfDNA to a distinct subpopulation of malignant cells within the primary tumor. These cells were embedded in a pro-metastatic microenvironment of specialized endothelial subtypes and cancer-associated fibroblasts. Notably, most recurrence-associated lesions were detectable in cfDNA prior to liver transplantation (LT). Building on these insights, we developed the ZJU Criteria based on CNA fragments and tumor markers, a pre-LT risk prediction tool that integrates conventional clinical factors with cfDNA-derived CNA signatures, and validated it using internal and independent external cohorts. Conclusion Our findings suggest that post-transplant recurrence commonly originates from advanced subclones that emerge late during tumor evolution. The ZJU Criteria provides an accurate, non-invasive strategy that significantly improves pre-LT risk stratification and clinical decision-making for patients with HCC.

Objective This study investigated the diversity of rodent populations and the infection status of Bartonella at three ports along the China-Mongolia border in 2022. Methods Rodents at three Belt and Road ports along the China-Mongolia border, namely Ganqimaodu, Erenhot, and Zhuengadabuqi, were morphologically identified. The Bartonella citrate synthase(gltA)gene was amplified by nested polymerase chain reaction(PCR), and PCR-positive products were sequenced. The resulting sequences were then analyzed for genetic characteristics. Phylogenetic analysis was performed using MEGA 11.0 software using Neighbor-Joining and Maximum-Likelihood method. Results A total of 94 rodents were captured, representing seven species from five families and six genera: Mus musculus, Meriones unguiculatus, Meriones meridianus, Spermophilus dauricus, Allactaga sibirica, Dipus sagitta, and Phodopus roborovskii. Among them, M. unguiculatus was the most abundant species, with 58 rodents, accounting for 61.70% of the total. Overall,11 positive Bartonella pathogen sequences were obtained from the three ports, with a positive detection rate of 11.70%(11/94). The infected rodent species included M. unguiculatus, M. meridianus, and A. sibirica, and two species of Bartonella were detected. Conclusions Rodents at Ganqimaodu, Erenhot, and Zhuengadabuqi ports along the China-Mongolia border were naturally infected with Bartonella. Rodent monitoring and pathogen prevention and control in this area should be strengthened.

Objective To explore the correlation and lag effect between meteorological factors and the incidence of scarlet fever in Xicheng District, Beijing, and to provide a theoretical basis for the surveillance, early warning，and scientific prevention and control of scarlet fever. Methods Based on the daily scarlet fever incidence data and concurrent meteorological data in Xicheng District, Beijing from 2010 to 2019, the distributed lag non-linear model (DLNM) was used to analyze the impact of meteorological factors on the incidence of scarlet fever. Results The risk of scarlet fever was the highest when the daily average temperature was 34.2℃ with a lag of 0 days (RR=1.175, 95% CI:1.006-1.372). The risk was the second highest when the daily average temperature was 2.2℃ with a lag of 12 days (RR=1.123, 95% CI:1.044 -1.209). The cumulative relative risk of scarlet fever was statistically significant when the daily average temperature ranged from 27.2℃ to 34.2℃, with the highest cumulative relative risk at 34.2℃ (RR=1.906, 95%CI:1.215-2.989). When the daily average relative humidity was 19.5% with a lag of 6 days, the risk of scarlet fever incidence was the highest (RR=1.022, 95% CI: 1.005-1.040). The cumulative relative risk was statistically significant when the daily average relative humidity ranged from 24.7% to 40.2%, with the highest cumulative relative risk at 27.3% (RR=1.170, 95% CI: 1.020-1.343). The risk of scarlet fever was the highest when the daily average vapor pressure was 1.2 hPa with a lag of 5 days (RR=1.029, 95%CI:1.008-1.050). The cumulative relative risk of scarlet fever was statistically significant when the daily average vapor pressure was 1.2-7.4 hPa, and the highest cumulative risk was when the daily average vapor pressure was 1.2 hPa (RR=1.362, 95% CI:1.022-1.815). Conclusion There is a nonlinear relationship between meteorological factors and the incidence of scarlet fever in Xicheng District, Beijing, with a certain lag effect. Daily average temperature (27.2-34.2℃), daily average relative humidity (28.6~36.3%) and daily average vapor pressure (1.2-7.4 hPa) increase the risk of scarlet fever. These factors can be used as indicators for the prevention, control, surveillance, and early warning of scarlet fever.

Objective:To explore the correlation between serum ferritin(SF)levels and the efficacy of platelet transfusion in patients with malignant hematological diseases.Methods:Patients with malignant hematological diseases who received repeated transfusions of apheresis platelets in Department of Hematology of Aerospace Center Hospital in 2023 were selected.The platelet corrected count increment(CCI)was used to evaluate the efficacy of platelet transfusion.The correlations between sex,age,disease type,transplantation history,red blood cell transfusion history,and SF level and the efficacy of platelet transfusion were analyzed.Results:A total of 87 patients were included,with a cumulative 326 person-times platelet transfusions.As suggested by one-way analysis of variance,compared with the patients in the age groups of 24-45 years old and 46-66 years old,the patients in the age group of 2-23 years old had a better efficacy of platelet transfusion(P=0.004,P=0.004).There was no significant difference in the efficacy of platelet transfusion between the patients in the age group of 24-45 years old and those in the age group of 46-66 years old(P=0.876).Compared with the patients who had a history of red blood cell transfusion within 3 days,the patients without a history of red blood cell transfusion within 3 days had a better efficacy of platelet transfusion(P＜0.001).Compared with the groups with SF levels of 1.44-2.78 ng/L and＞2.78 ng/L,the group with SF levels＜1.44 ng/L had a better efficacy of platelet transfusion(P=0.028,P＜0.001).Compared with the group with SF levels＞2.78 ng/L,the group with SF levels of 1.44-2.78 ng/L had a better efficacy of platelet transfusion(P=0.001).After adjusting for age and the history of red blood cell transfusion,the transfusion efficacy of the group with SF levels＜1.44 ng/L was better than that of the groups with SF levels of 1.44-2.78 ng/L and＞2.78 ng/L(P=0.021,P＜0.001);Compared with the group with SF levels＞2.78 ng/L,the group with SF levels of 1.44-2.78 ng/L had a better efficacy of platelet transfusion(P=0.001).Both univariate and multivariate linear regression models showed that SF levels were negatively correlated with the efficacy of platelet transfusion(P＜0.001).Conclusion:There is a negative correlation between SF levels and the efficacy of platelet transfusion in patients with malignant hematological diseases.Detection of SF levels may provide guidance for predicting the efficacy of platelet transfusion.

Objective:To observe the efficacy and safety of polatuzumab vedotin(pola)combined with chemotherapy in the treatment of relapsed and refractory diffuse large B-cell lymphoma(R/R DLBCL).Methods:A total of 23 patients with R/R DLBCL treated at the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University and its Liangzhu Branch from April 2023 to March 2024 were retrospectively collected.All patients were treated with pola combined with chemotherapy regimens such as BR,R-GDP,R-CHOP,or other regimens.Results:All 23 patients were evaluable for efficacy,with 10 achieving complete response(CR),7 partial response(PR),3 stable disease(SD),and 3 progressive disease(PD).The most common adverse events included myelosuppression,fever,and pulmonary infection.No severe adverse events resulted in drug withdrawal.Conclusion:Pola combined with chemotherapy demonstrates promising efficacy and a favorable safety profile in the treatment of R/R DLBCL.
