Extensive disease surveys performed during the summers of 2013 and 2014 in Schisandra chinensis orchards resulted in the finding of a Septobasidium sp. associated with felt disease. The fungus was characterized to be symbiotic with a scale insect (Pseudaulacaspis cockerelli). Morphological and molecular characteristics of the Septobasidium isolates were investigated. The isolates were morphologically and phylogenetically close to S. bogoriense. We tentatively describe this isolate as a Septobasidium sp., mainly because of the limited amount of information available on the internal transcribed spacer region of the ribosomal DNA of Septobasidium spp.

Break of a stent delivery catheter and subsequent stent loss (SL) has been a rare event in the drug-eluting stent (DES) era. We here report a case of successful retrieval of a stent after a break if the delivery catheter and SL from a balloon catheter at a culprit lesion. We finally resolved this situation using a simple balloon technique for both the broken stent catheter inside of the guide catheter and the unexpanded stent in the culprit lesion. Thus balloons are an important weapon in our armamentarium in the cardiac catheterization laboratory for urgent retrieval of a lost stent. Their apt use definitely allowed our patient to avoid undergoing emergency cardiovascular thoracic surgery.

Korean Journal of Community Nutrition 2009;14(6):798-806
The objective of this study was to investigate how to improve job satisfaction for dietitians and nutrition teachers by identifying influencing factors in Daejeon and Chungnam Province, South Korea. A survey was conducted among school foodservice dietitians and nutrition teachers from selected primary, middle and high school in the area. This survey consisted of general characteristics, status of their job, job satisfaction, work satisfaction and work performance. In this study we found current state of general characteristics and status of their job according to frequency analysis and the level of work satisfaction, work performance and job satisfaction using descriptive statistics. The t-test, ANOVA and Duncan-test were also conducted in order to searching for tendency of job satisfaction according to the general characteristics and the status of their job. Pearson's correlation was carried out in order to find correlation with job satisfaction. Also, factors, which influenced job satisfaction according to regression analysis, were drawn. We describe the difference of job satisfaction between irregular dietitians and nutrition teachers as well. Besides we discussed the improvement of dietitians' (nutrition teachers') work environment to raise their job satisfaction through this study.

Fistula between coronary artery and pulmonary artery is a type of coronary artery anomalies. It can cause atypical chest pain and fatigue, angina pectoris, endocarditis, finally myocardial steal can result in heart failure and myocardial infarction. But only 0.1-0.2% of coronary angiographic studies reveal the communications between coronary artery and other spaces. (heart chamber, pulmonary artery etc.) It is frequently congenital, but acquired types are increasing because chest and heart manipulations such as opertion of tetralogy of Fallot, endomyocardial biopsy, radiation therapy, or penetrating blunt trauma are increasing. There are reports about repair of fistula using thrombogenic tips, coil embolization and surgical intervention. We report a connection between coronary artery and pulmonary artery in 79 years old female. She was 30 pack-years smoker and suffered from dyspnea several years with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. She presented with atypical chest pain and palpitation after admission. Electrocardiography showed ST-T wave abnormality. Emergency coronary angiography and chest CT scan revealed coronary-pulmonary artery fistula. Transcatheter embolization was performed and she was relieved from discomforts.

OBJECTIVE: This study was done to formulate Korean fetal biometry charts of midtrimester presenting percentile values as a function of gestational age. METHODS: The relationships between the ultrasound measurement of 5 fetal parameters (biparietal diameter, head circumference, abdominal circumference, femur length, transverse cerebellar diameter) and nuchal skinfold thickness and menstrual age were determined by a cross-sectional study. The study group consisted of 215 normal healthy pregnant Korean women with known last menstrual period and regular menstrual period who had been performed genetic amniocentesis at our hospital and for whom complete pregnancy outcome information was available. All ultrasound examination was performed by one expert examiner. For each of the 5 parameters, the 5th, 10th, 25th, 50th, 75th, 90th, and 95th percentiles were determined. RESULTS: Ready-to-use fetal measurement charts in midtrimester are presented in a format giving the percentile values as a function of gestational age. CONCLUSION: These fetal biometry charts, obtained from midtrimester, Korean women can be used as a reference value.

Korean Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology 2001;44(12):2289-2295
OBJECTIVE: To assess the outcomes of pregnancies in women with kyphoscoliosis. METHOD: A total of 15 patients (17 pregnancies) complicated by kyphoscoliosis were reviewed among 19,717 deliveries between Jan. 1991 and Apr. 2001, from the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Seoul National University Hospital. Their prenatal course, mode of deliveries, and pregnancy outcomes were scrutinizingly investigated. RESULTS: The incidence of kyphoscoliosis in this study was one per 1160 deliveries. The mean age of these patients in their pregnancies was 30.6+/-4.4 years (range 23-38), mean height 143.5+/-14.0 cm (range 124-160), and mean weight 55.8+/-14.4 kg (range 38-96). The causes of kyphoscoliosis included idiopathic (n=8), spinal tuberculosis (n=3), external trauma (n=3), poliomyelitis (n=1), spinal muscular atrophy (n=1), and progressive muscular dystrophy (n=1). The mean forced vital capacity (FVC) was 2.098+/-0.774 L (range 0.54-3.59) and mean vital capacity (VC) % predicted was 68.2+/-20.6% (range 24-105) prior to delivery. Vaginal delivery was performed in 4 cases, and cesarean section in 13. Fetal growth restriction was identified in 7 cases, and one case had both fetal heart anomaly and imperforate anus. Two babies were managed in neonatal intensive care unit; preterm birth at 34 weeks in one case, and term birth with low apgar score in the other. Maternal pulmonary complication was developed in two cases, the lowest two values of FVC and VC % predicted, one was FVC 0.86 L, VC % predicted 33% and the other was FVC 0.54L, VC % predicted 24%. These mothers were managed with transnasal oxygen therapy in one, artificial oxygen therapy in the other. CONCLUSION: The maternal and perinatal risks in pregnancy associated with kyphoscoliosis may be dependent on maternal pulmonary function prior to delivery.

8.Mesenteric Lymphadenitis Due to Yersinia enterocolitica: A case report.

Korean Journal of Pathology 2000;34(12):1022-1024
Mesenteric lymphadenitis due to Yersinia enterocolitica infection is not common in Korea. Although most cases of Yersinia enterocolitica-induced mesenteric adenitis are self limited, cardinal features of Yersinia enterocolitica-induced mesenteric adenitis are so similar to those of acute appendicitis that some of the patients undergo laparotomy with suspected appendicitis. The findings on laparotomy in such patients are usually enlarged mesenteric nodes with a normal or slightly inflamed appendix. Because histologic examination of the removed mesenteric lymph nodes reveals reactive hyperplasia in most cases, it is usually difficult to suspect Yersinia enterocolitica infection on morphology of the resected nodes. But suppurative granulomata of mesenteric lymph nodes, uncommonly encountered in Yersinia enterocolitica infection, strongly suggest yersinial infection. We report a case of mesenteric lymphadenitis in a 10-year-old boy, who underwent laparotomy with suspected acute appendicitis. The removed lymph node showed several suppurative granulomata in the cortex, suggesting yersinial infection. Serologic study confirmed Yersinia enterocolitica serotype O:3 infection.

The purpose of this study was to develop a curriculum for the oriental clinical nurse specialist program based on the understanding of Korean human beings so as to develop nursing as a profession and promote the client's health. The design of this study was based on literature review and nominal group study. The research was managed by East-West Nursing Research Institute of nursing science college at Kyung Hee University. The research team was composed of 17 professors of nursing departments of oriental medical colleges. We obtained opinions from Oriental Nurses Association, Oriental Nursing Research Association, and professors in oriental medical college. We reviewed articles, curriculums of other clinical nurse specialist programs, medical laws and the curriculum development plan for the oriental clinical nurse specialist program from Korean Nurses Association. We discussed a curriculum thoroughly in numerous meetings. We developed a following curriculum: 1. Educational philosophy was founded on the oriental human view which was based on Chun-In union theory. It was founded on the oriental health view which recognized health being in harmony with nature and the balance of body function with the harmony of Yin-Yang in the five elements. In addition, it was founded on oriental nursing view to promote these health states. 2. Educational goals were to train oriental clinical nurse specialists, oriental nursing educators and oriental nursing researchers who developed knowledge of oriental nursing theory, nursing practice and created a leadership. 3. Curriculum consisted of 48 credits, of which 36 credits are based on lectures and laboratory classes and 12 credits are based on clinical practice. 36 credits consisted of 5 general subject credits and 31 core subject credits. General subjects consisted of nursing theory, nursing research, law and ethics. Students who had earned master's degrees are not required to take the general subjects. Core subjects consisted of 11 subjects such as advanced physical examination and laboratory, oriental nursing theory, original text of oriental nursing, oriental medical nursing, oriental pediatric nursing, oriental gynecologic nursing, oriental gerontologic nursing, oriental pharmacology, oriental constitutional nursing, advanced nursing of channels and acupuncture points and laboratory and oriental rehabilitation nursing and laboratory. In addition, clinical practice in a hospital ward, out patient department, herb prepation room, department of physical therapy and health promotion center in oriental medical hospitals for 12 weeks. To admit this program, students should complete prerequisites of introduction to oriental nursing and nursing of channels and acupuncture points. 4. Course contents of each subjects were developed to include the course's goal and objectives and specific items. 5. Evaluation involved lecture, laboratory and in field practice. We applied various evaluation systems and methods that were based on both knowledge and skills of the students to ensure full credibility and validity.

The Korean Journal of Hepatology 1998;4(2):131-142
BACKGROUND/AIMS: The p53 mutations have been described as the most common genetic alteration during development and progression of malignancy in a wide range of human cancers. Mutant p53 proteins have a prolonged half-life accounting for increased levels of p53 protein frequently detected in tumors. This can induce the production of anti-p53 in the senzn of patients with HCC. We determined the relationship of serum anti-p53 with p53 expression in the liver tissue of chronic liver disease and the correlation of serum anti-p53 with serum alpha- fetoprotein(AFP) in patients with HCC. METHODS: In sera of same patients, we analysed the anti- p53 using ELISA system As controls we tested 50 healthy individuals and 20 patients with chronic hepatitis. Immaiohistochemical study for the presence of mutant p53 was performed on liver tissue from 50 patients with cirrhosis and 30 patients with HCC using monoclonal antibody clone DO-7 and LSAB kit by ABC method. RESULTS: Anti-p53 was positive in 9(30%) of 30 patients with HCC. Among nine patients with positive anti-p53, only two patients had detectable p53 expression in their tumor tissues. Anti-p53 was positive in 5(10%) of 50 patients with liver cirrhosis. The AFP was elevated in 21(70%) of 30 patients with HCC. Among the 9 AFP- negative HCC patients, 4(44.4%) were found to be positive for anti-p53. P53 expression was detectable in 9(30%) of 30 HCCs and 1(3.3%) of RO surrounding non-tumorous cirrhotic tissues. CONCLUSION: Mese findings suggest that anti-p53 was not correlated with the status of p53 expression in liver tissue and serological testing for anti-p53 antibody may be complementary to serum AFP for diagnosing of HCC with normal serum AFP.
