Journal of Preventive Medicine 2025;37(8):837-841
Objective:
To understand the relationship between working hours and occupational stress among front-line employees in manufacturing enterprises, so as to provide a basis for the prevention and control of occupational stress.
Methods:
Front-line employees from 5 manufacturing enterprises in Hangzhou City were selected from June to November 2024 using random cluster sampling. Demographic information and occupational information such as daily average working hours and weekly working hours, were collected through questionnaires. The effort-reward imbalance questionnaire was used to investigate occupational stress. The association between working hours and occupational stress was analyzed using a multivariable logistic regression model.
Results:
A total of 926 people were surveyed, among whom 572 were male, accounting for 61.77%, and 354 were female, accounting for 38.23%. The average age was (32.98±8.28) years. There were 515 people (55.62%) who had a monthly personal income of more than 5 000 yuan but less than 9 000 yuan. There were 353 people (38.12%) who had a working seniority of less than 5 years. There were 784 people (84.67%) who had an average daily working hours of >8 hours and 645 people (69.65%) who had a weekly working day of more than 5 days. There were 338 people (36.50%) on the shift work system, and 331 people (35.75%) worked night shifts. A total of 707 people were detected with occupational stress, with a detection rate of 76.35%. Multivariable logistic regression analysis showed that after adjusting for gender, age, educational level, marital status, number of children, only-child status, monthly personal income, working seniority, weekly working hours, assembly-line work, shift work system and night shift, compared with employees with an average daily working hours of ≤8 hours, the risk of occupational stress increased by 118.7% for those with an average daily working hours of >8-<10 hours (OR=2.187, 95%CI: 1.434-3.336) and by 248.4% for those with an average daily working hours of ≥10 hours (OR=3.484, 95%CI: 2.034-5.966).
Conclusions
The detection rate of occupational stress among front-line employees in manufacturing enterprises in Hangzhou City is high. Long average daily working hours can increase the risk of occupational stress among employees in manufacturing enterprises. It is recommended to reasonably arrange work intensity and working hours.

Objective To investigate effectiveness and safety of transcatheter aortic valve replacement in the treatment of aortic regurgitation. Methods PubMed, EMbase, The Cochrane Library, Web of Science, CNKI, Wanfang Data and VIP were searched from inception to August 2021. According to the criteria of inclusion and exclusion, two reviewers independently screened the literature, extracted the data and evaluated the quality of the included studies. Then, Stata 16.0 software was used for meta-analysis. Subgroup meta-analysis of valve type used and study type was performed. Results Twenty-five studies (12 cohort studies and 13 single-arm studies) were included with 4 370 patients. Meta-analysis results showed that an incidence of device success was 87% (95%CI 0.81-0.92). The success rate of the new generation valve subgroup was 93% (95%CI 0.89-0.96), and the early generation valve subgroup was 66% (95%CI 0.56-0.75). In addition, the 30-day all-cause mortality was 7% (95%CI 0.05-0.10), the 30-day cardiac mortality was 4% (95%CI 0.01-0.07), the incidence of pacemaker implantation was 10% (95%CI 0.08-0.13), and the incidence of conversion to thoraco-tomy was 2% (95%CI 0.01-0.04). The incidence of moderate or higher paravalvular aortic regurgitation was 6% (95%CI 0.03-0.09). Conclusion Transcatheter aortic valve replacement for aortic regurgitation is safe and yields good results, but some limitations can not be overcome. Therefore, multicenter randomized controlled trials are needed to confirm our results.

Acid-base dissociation constant (pKa) is a key physicochemical parameter in chemical science, especially in organic synthesis and drug discovery. Current methodologies for pKa prediction still suffer from limited applicability domain and lack of chemical insight. Here we present MF-SuP-pKa (multi-fidelity modeling with subgraph pooling for pKa prediction), a novel pKa prediction model that utilizes subgraph pooling, multi-fidelity learning and data augmentation. In our model, a knowledge-aware subgraph pooling strategy was designed to capture the local and global environments around the ionization sites for micro-pKa prediction. To overcome the scarcity of accurate pKa data, low-fidelity data (computational pKa) was used to fit the high-fidelity data (experimental pKa) through transfer learning. The final MF-SuP-pKa model was constructed by pre-training on the augmented ChEMBL data set and fine-tuning on the DataWarrior data set. Extensive evaluation on the DataWarrior data set and three benchmark data sets shows that MF-SuP-pKa achieves superior performances to the state-of-the-art pKa prediction models while requires much less high-fidelity training data. Compared with Attentive FP, MF-SuP-pKa achieves 23.83% and 20.12% improvement in terms of mean absolute error (MAE) on the acidic and basic sets, respectively.

Objective To investigate the effects and mechanism of (-)-epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) on white adipose tissue angiogenesis in high fat diet rats. Methods Twenty-four male weaning SD rats were randomly divided into normal control group, high fat diet group and EGCG intervention group,8 rats in each group.Normal control group were fed with normal diet,high-fat diet group were fed with high-fat diet,EGCG intervention group were fed with high-fat diet along with intragastric administration of 200 mg/ (kg · d) EGCG.After 8 weeks, the rats were sacrificed. The adipocyte size and vascular density of the abdominal adipose tissue in rats in each group were observed under the microscope. The serum vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) concentration was detected by Elisa Kit.RT-PCR was used to detect the expression of VEGF,nuclear factor E2 (Nrf2),heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1),catalase (CAT),SOD,GPx,interleukin-6 (IL-6) and monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP-1) mRNA.Results The adipocyte size, number of vascular/each adipocyte, serum VEGF concentration and VEGF mRNA expression in adipose tissue of high fat diet group were significantly higher than those of normal control group (all P<0.05).EGCG can significantly reduce the above indicators of high fat diet group (all P<0.05).The expression of Nrf2,HO-1,SOD,GPx and CAT mRNA in adipose tissue of EGCG group was significantly higher than those in high fat diet group and normal control group (all P<0.05).The expression of MCP-1 and IL-6 mRNA in adipose tissue of EGCG group was significantly lower than that in high fat diet group (all P<0.05).Conclusion EGCG can decrease the production of serum VEGF,vascular density and the expression of VEGF mRNA in white adipose tissue of high fat diet rats, and inhibit the angiogenesis in white adipose tissue possibly due to its up-regulation of Nrf2/HO-1 pathway to increase the expression of antioxidant enzymes (SOD,CAT,GPx),reduce ROS production and decrease the inflammatory response.
