Background:
This study investigated the relationship between work-life balance (WLB), effort-reward imbalance (ERI), and presenteeism among Korean wageworkers through two models used simultaneously.
Methods:
Data from the 6th Korean Working Conditions Survey for 28,669 Korean workers, including 13,513 men and 15,156 women, were analyzed. All analyses were performed with pre-designed weight. Multiple logistic regression analysis was used to analyze the association between WLB, ERI, and presenteeism among Korean workers. The participants were classified into the following four groups: group 1, status of both WLB and ERI is “balanced”; group 2, WLB and ERI status are “imbalanced” and “balanced”, respectively; group 3, WLB and ERI status are “balanced” and “imbalanced”, respectively; group 4: status of both WLB and ERI is “imbalanced.”
Results:
We found that WLB and ERI were associated with presenteeism in both men and women. Depending on their WLB and ERI status, women generally had a higher tendency of presenteeism than men. Multiple logistic regression shows that, in most models and groups, there is an increased odds ratio (OR) for presenteeism in both men and women compared to the reference value. Moreover, the OR in both men and women gradually increased in groups 2, 3, and 4 compared with group 1. When considering both WLB and ERI status simultaneously, ERI had a greater impact on presenteeism than WLB. Furthermore, it was found that a synergistic effect of presenteeism manifests when both WLB and ERI are in a state of imbalance simultaneously.
Conclusions
Using the two models simultaneously, we found an association between WLB, ERI, and presenteeism according to sex with a synergistic effect among Korean workers. Our research suggests that active interventions targeting WLB and ERI are necessary to reduce presenteeism, which ultimately leads to decreased productivity.

Malignant rhabdoid tumor was first discovered in the kidney, and rhabdoid tumor of the lung was first reported in 1995. These were included as the variants of large-cell carcinoma, according to the 1999 World Health Organization classification of lung tumors. The rhabdoid tumor of the lung exhibits aggressive biological behavior and has a poor prognosis, and only a few reports of this tumor exist. We report a case of lung carcinoma with a rhabdoid phenotype, initially misdiagnosed as an aspergilloma, in a 48-year-old man who presented with recurrent hemoptysis. The chest computed tomography scans showed a huge consolidative lesion with an air crescent sign in the left upper lung and no contrast-enhancing lesion. An aspergilloma was diagnosed by the radiologist. However, after surgical excision and pathological examination, rhabdoid carcinoma was diagnosed. A surgical resection helps to make it possible to pathologically distinguish a malignancy from an aspergilloma.

Journal of Korean Academy of Conservative Dentistry 2003;28(5):363-368
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of additional enamel etching with phosphoric acid on the microleakage of the adhesion of self-etching primer system. Class V cavity(4 mmx3 mmx1.5 mm) preparations with all margins in enamel were prepared on buccal surface of 42 extracted human upper central incisor teeth. Prepared teeth were randomly divided into 3 groups. Group 1 : no additional pretreatment with 37% phosphoric acid (NE). Group 2 : additional pretreatment with 37% phosphoric acid for 10 seconds (E10s). Group 3 : additional pretreatment with 37% phosphoric acid for 20 seconds (E20s). The adhesives(Clearfil SE Bond(R), Kuraray, Osaka, Japan) and composite resins(Clearfil AP-X(R), Osaka, Kuraray, Japan) were applied following the manufacturer's instructions. All the specimens were finished with the polishing disc(3M dental product, St Paul, MN, USA), thermocycled for 500 cycles between 5degrees C and 55degrees C and resected apical 3-mm root. 0.028 stainless steel wire was inserted apically into the pulp chamber of each tooth and sealed into position with sticky wax. Surrounding tooth surface was covered with a nail varnish 2 times except areas 1 mm far from all the margins. After drying for one day, soaked the samples in the distilled water. Microleakage was assessed by electrochemical method(System 6514, Electrometer(R), Keithley, USA) in the distilled water. In this study, the microleakage was the lowest in group 1(NE) and the highest in group 3(E20s)(NE

The thyroid nodules are the most frequent encountered disorders of the endocrine system. A clinical study of 34 cases with thyroid nodules, which were treated by surgical excision and confirmed pathologically at the department of otolaryngology-head and neck surgery, Kon-Kuk University hospital, from January 1990 to July 1995, was conducted. This study was designed for early diagnosis and proper treatment of thyroid nodules through clinical analysis. The clinical analysis results were obtained as follows: 1) The sexual distribution showed the preponderance of female with 1:5.8. 2) The most prominent sign was palpable nodule on anterior neck. 3) The duration of illness within 3 months was most common(51.5%), and the size of thyroid nodules was parallel to the duration of illness. 4) Most nodules were unilateral in 29/34(85.2%), among them, right lobe in 47%, lower lobe in 38.2%. 5) The consistency of nodules was soft in 12 cases(31.5%) and most nodules were single in 26 cases(76.4%). 6) Fine needle aspiration biopsy showed consistent with surgical result in 13/19 cases(70%) at benign nodules and in 3/4 cases(75%) at malignant nodules. 7) The histopathologic classification of benign diseases in decreasing order of the frequency were adenomatous goiter, 17.28 cases(60.7%); follicular adenoma, 7/28 cases(25%); Graves' disease, 0 cases. The malignant diseases were papillary carcinoma, 6/6 cases(100%). 8) The frequent performed operative procedure was unilateral lobectomy 28/34(82.3%) in both benign and malignant disease. 9) The postoperative complication occured in 12/34 cases(35.2%) including 5 cases of mild dysphagia(14.7%) and 2 cases of transient hoarseness(5.8%) and 1 case of hypocalcemia(2.9%) and 1 case of ecchymosis(2.9%) in wound and were related to the extent of the surgical procedure.
