ObjectiveTo investigate the ability of clinically isolated, Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori)-specific gene polymerase chain reaction (PCR)-positive gastric, vaginal, and fecal Candida to release H. pylori. MethodsResuscitate 4 strains of H. pylori -specific 16S rDNA and ureA gene PCR-positive Candida strains isolated in laboratory from clinical sources, including 1 strain of gastric Candida, 1 strain of fecal Candida, 2 strains of vaginal Candida and the standard Candida albicans strain ATCC10231 (Ca10231). The presence of H. pylori-specific ureA in the 5 strains of Candida isolates was confirmed by PCR. The aforementioned strains of Candida and H.pylori were inoculated into urea medium and cultured in a constant temperature incubator at 37 ℃. The color change of the medium was observed daily. A change in the medium's color from yellow to red indicated the presence of urease activity. Then, the five strains of Candida and H. pylori were co-incubated with the magnetic beads coated with H. pylori antibodies respectively. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) was employed to observe the presence of bacilli adsorbed on the surface of the magnetic beads. PCR was used to detect the presence of H.pylori-specific 16S rDNA and ureA genes on magnetic beads. ResultsThe PCR analysis of the ureA gene in the four Candida isolates was positive, whereas the Ca10231 strain tested negative. Upon culturing the four Candida isolates on urea medium, the medium color changed from yellow to red which was determined to be urease positive, while the medium containing Ca10231 remained unchanged, which was urease negative. SEM revealed that bacilli could be observed on the surface of magnetic beads co-incubated with the 4 strains of Candida of clinical origin and H.pylori isolate. Specifically, PCR testing of the magnetic beads co-incubated with one vaginal Candida, one gastric Candida and H.pylori isolate showed positive results for the 16S rDNA and ureA genes of H. pylori; however, the PCR tests for the two genes were negative for the magnetic beads co-incubated with the other two Candida isolate. ConclusionThis study demonstrates that H. pylori-specific genes Candida can release H. pylori.

OBJECTIVE To investigate the current status of monitoring indicators related to the"Perioperative In-fection Control"in medical institutions above the secondary level in Guizhou Province, and to delve into the imple-mentation of key measures for infection prevention and control during the perioperative period for patients under-going surgical operations.METHODS Based on the"Implementation Plan for the'Perioperative Infection Control'Initiative in Guizhou Province",a"Case Investigation Form on Key Measures for Infection Prevention and Control During the Perioperative Period for Patients Undergoing Surgical Operation"was developed.A total of 138 medi-cal institutions participated in the case investigation, and a total of 2 128 cases were investigated.RESULTS The overall monitoring indicators for the"Perioperative Infection Control"initiative in the 138 medical institutions a-bove the secondary level in Guizhou Province were at a relatively low level. The skin cleansing compliance rate was 80.32%,the hair removal compliance rate was 16.43%,the prophylactic antibacterial drug administration rate within 0.5-1 hour before surgery was 55.94%and the antibacterial drug discontinuation rate within 24 hours after prophylactic medication for type Ⅰ incision surgeries was 56.48%.The hair removal compliance rate was higher in tertiary medical institutions(19.21%)than in secondary medical institutions(14.34%)(P=0.039).The distri-bution of the four monitoring indicators varied in clinical departments and surgery types, with statistically signifi-cant differences(P<0.05).The preferred method for surgical site skin cleansing in medical institutions across the province was local wiping, primarily with clean water(57.21%).The primary method for hair removal was razors(68.82%),and hair removal on the day of surgery was most common(61.75%).CONCLUSIONS Conduc-ting a survey on the current status of"Perioperative Infection Control"initiative monitoring indicators in medi-cal institutions in Guizhou Province helps to understand the implementation of key measures for perioperative in-fection prevention and control and set intervention targets, thus providing references for establishing a dynam-ic monitoring indicator change mechanism.

Objective To investigate the current situation of healthcare-associated infection(HAI)in hospitals of Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture of Guizhou Province, and provide basis for formulating prevention and con-trol measures of HAI.Methods According to the unified plan of the National HAI Surveillance Network,26 hospi-tals in Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture of Guizhou Province were performed cross-sectional survey on HAI prevalence rate, antimicrobial use,and specimen bacterial culture rate. Results A total of 3 tertiary and 23 seconda-ry hospitals were investigated,7 799 inpatients were included, the prevalence rate of HAI was 2.54%(n =198), and case prevalence rate was 2.65% (n=205).HAI mainly distributed in intensive care unit (29.63%);the main infection site was lower respiratory tract (44.44%);HAI mainly caused by gram-negative bacteria, the major pathogens were Escherichia coli ,Pseudomonas aeruginosa ,and Klebsiella pneumoniae .The usage rate of antimi-crobial agents was 45.66%,secondary hospitals was higher than tertiary hospitals (53.65% vs 31 .14%,χ2 =148.53,P <0.001 ).74.02% of antimicrobial agents were for therapeutic purpose,19.77% for prophylaxis, and 6.21 % for both prophylactic and therapeutic application;81 .02% of patients received one agent,17.21 % received two,and 1 .77% received three and more agents;among patients who received antimicrobials for therapeutic as well as for both therapeutic and prophylactic purpose, only 29.37% were sent specimens for pathogenic detection. Conclusion The prevalence rate in this region is lower than national average level, antimicrobial usage rate is lower than national standard, management of key departments and key sites should be strengthened, antimicrobial agents, especially used in secondary hospitals should be used rationally.

Objective To explore the status of healthcare-associated infection(HAI)in hospitals in Buyi autono-mous prefecture of Guizhou Povince, and provide basis for formulating HAI control measures. Methods A survey was conducted by combined methods of bed-side survey and medical record reviewing, prevalence rates of secondary and above hospitals in Buyi autonomous prefecture in Guizhou Province between September 10 and October 5,2014 were surveyed. Results 6 577 hospitalized patients should be investigated,6 541(99.45%)were actually investiga-ted.The prevalence rate and case prevalence rate of HAI were 1 .83% (n=120)and 1 .94%(n=127)respectively. The top three departments of HAI distribution were intensive care unit (26.32%),neurosurgery (6.10%),and neonatal intensive care unit(5.13%);the main infection site was lower respiratory tract(n=39,30.71 %),followed by skin-soft tissue (n=24,18.90%)and superficial incision (n=23,18.11 %).58 pathogenic isolates were detec-ted,gram-negative bacteria were the major pathogens (n=44),gram-positive bacteria and fungi were 10 and 3 iso-lates respectively.Antimicrobial usage rate at survey day was 42.12%,64.75% of which were for therapeutic, 26.83% for prophylactic, and 8.42% for therapeutic+prophylactic use;the percentage of mono-drug,two drugs combination, and three or more drugs combination use were 79.53%,19.89%,and 0.58% respectively;bacterial detection rate in patients receiving therapeutic as well as therapeutic+prophylactic antimicrobial use was 13.76%. Conclusion Survey on prevalence of HAI is helpful for understanding the current status of HAI,monitoring on HAI in key departments of hospital and key sites of patients should be strengthened to reduce the occurrence HAI effectively.
