As people’s attention to health continues to increase, the market demand for traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is growing steadily. The quality and safety of Chinese medicinal materials have attracted unprecedented social attention. In particular, the issue of exogenous harmful residue pollution in TCM has become a hot topic of concern for both regulatory authorities and society. The Chinese Pharmacopoeia 2025 Edition further refines the detection methods and limit standards for exogenous harmful residues in TCM. This not only reflects China’s high-level emphasis on the quality and safety of TCM but also demonstrates the continuous progress made by China in the field of TCM safety supervision. Basis on this study, by systematically reviewing the development history of the detection standards for exogenous harmful residues in TCM and analyzing the revisions and updates of these detection standards in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia 2025 Edition, deeply explores the key points of the changes in the monitoring standards for exogenous harmful residues in TCM in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia 2025 Edition. Moreover, it interprets the future development directions of the detection of exogenous residues in TCM, aiming to provide a reference for the formulation of TCM safety supervision policies.

Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and semi-volatile organic compounds (SVOCs) are common organic compounds in indoor and outdoor air, and enter the human body primarily through the respiratory tract and directly damage the respiratory system. Previous studies have suggested that exposure to VOCs/SVOCs may associate with the prevalence, incidence, and progression of asthma, but the extent of the associations is still vague. Furthermore, biomarkers for efficient and simple asthma diagnosis, typing, and attack prediction remain unclear at this stage. From the perspective of the collection and detection methods of VOCs/SVOCs, this paper summarized the epidemiological associations and underlying biological mechanisms between VOCs/SVOCs exposure and the prevalence, incidence, and progression of asthma in children/adults. It also demonstrated the application of VOCs/SVOCs in recent years in assisting asthma diagnosis, such as distinguishing asthma patients from the healthy population, differentiating different asthma phenotypes, and predicting asthma acute exacerbations, aiming to provide a scientific basis for improving current asthma management.

Objective To investigate the geographical distribution patterns and influencing factors of suitable habitats for the desert medicinal plant Cynomorium songaricum Rupr under current climatic conditions; To provide a basis for its resource conservation and sustainable utilization. Methods The MaxEnt model was used to analyze potential suitable habitats for Cynomorium songaricum Rupr.Geographical Detector model was used to identify key environmental factors affecting habitat suitability.Surface cover data were overlaid to assess the distribution of sandy and Gobi regions within suitable habitats, enabling a quantitative evaluation of actual potential suitable areas. Results Model predictions indicated a total suitable habitat area of approximately 2.98×106 km2,representing 30.99%of China's mainland area.Highly suitable habitats are concentrated in desert and Gobi regions of Gansu,Xinjiang,Inner Mongolia,Qinghai and Ningxia.Among climatic factors, precipitation of the coldest quarter(bio19),solar radiation in August(srad8),and mean temperature of the coldest quarter(bio11)significantly influence Cynomorium songaricum Rupr distribution. The interaction between temperature and solar radiation intensity exhibited the highest explanatory power for habitat distribution patterns(q=0.82).Overlay analysis with surface cover data estimated the actual potential suitable area at approximately 9.70×105 km2,with sandy regions comprising 5.73×105 km2 and Gobi regions 3.98×105 km2.Conclusion By integrating multi-source data and modeling approaches, this study delineates the potential suitable habitats for Cynomorium songaricum Rupr across China and evaluates the spatial distribution characteristics and influencing factors of suitable habitats in Cynomorium songaricum Rupr. These findings offer a foundation for conserving wild Cynomorium songaricum Rupr resources, optimizing ecological planting regions, and promoting sustainable industry development.

One patient with kidney stones was prescribed Paishi granules and diclofenac sodium sustained-release tablets for pain relief in the outpatient setting. That evening, the patient took 1 sachet of Paishi granules and 1 diclofenac sodium sustained-release tablet together. The patient subsequently developed a generalized rash with itching.Liver function indexes of alanine aminotransferase(ALT),aspartate aminotransferase(AST),total bilirubin(T-BiL),direct bilirubin(D-BiL),and alkaline phosphatase(ALP)were all 2 to 6 times higher than the upper limit of normal. After symptomatico treatment, the patients systemic rash had subsided, and the liver function indicators have returned to normal.

Objective:To investigate the role of reactive astrocytes expressing aromatase(ARO)in the penumbra during ischemic stroke. Methods:A mouse model of middle cerebral artery occlusion(MCAO/R)was prepared using the suture method.Western blot and immunofluorescence staining were used to observe the expression of ARO in the penumbra after ischemia reperfusion. We generated a glial fibrillary acidic protein promoter-driven aromatase knock-out(GFAP-ARO-KO)mouse model in vivo.Neurologic impairment scores, rotarod test, grip strength test and adhesive removal test on the plantar surface of the paw were performed after MCAO/R modeling. Results:In wild type mice, the expression of ARO was significantly increased in astrocytes in the penumbra after MCAO/R(P<0.01).Compared to the control group, the expression of ARO in the GFAP-ARO-KO group was significantly reduced in astrocytes in the penumbra after MCAO/R.And loss of ARO increased cerebral infarction volume and aggravated sensorimotor impair-ment.Conclusion:After ischemic stroke, reactive astrocytes in the penumbra highly express ARO and play a protective role in post-ischemia reperfusion injury.

Objective:To understand healthcare professionals' perceptions and experiences of early rehabilitation exercise for extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) patients, explore existing problems in the implementation of early rehabilitation exercise, and provide reference for constructing safe and effective early rehabilitation exercise programs for ECMO patients. Methods:This study was a qualitative study. Using purposeful sampling method, 13 ICU healthcare professionals (including doctors, rehabilitation therapists, and nurses) from three Class Ⅲ Grade A hospitals in Zhejiang Province that have implemented early rehabilitation exercise for ECMO patients were selected for semi-structured interviews from March to May 2024, and the interview data were collated and analyzed using the Colaizzi 7-step analysis method. Results:The perceptions and experiential perspectives of healthcare professionals on early rehabilitation exercise for ECMO patients can be summarized into three themes and 10 subthemes. The three themes were: healthcare professionals affirm the role of early rehabilitation exercise; lack of unified operational guidelines for early rehabilitation exercise; and patients and their families show high enthusiasm for participating in early rehabilitation exercise. Conclusions:Hospitals should regularly conduct related training on early rehabilitation exercise to enhance the practical skills of healthcare professionals. At the same time, healthcare professionals should focus on utilizing the positive role of patients and their families in the process of early rehabilitation exercise to improve the quality of ECMO patient rehabilitation care.
