The purpose of this study was to explore the clinical efficacy and safety of Gynostemma pentaphyllum (G. pentaphyllum) in the treatment of hyperlipidemia, and to provide systematic evaluation basis for clinical application. CNKI, Wanfang Data, VIP, Web of science, PubMed, Embase and Cochrane Library were searched for randomized controlled trials (RCTs) about G. pentaphyllum in the treatment of hyperlipidemia. Review Manager 5.4 were used for statistical analysis. Through reading topics, abstracts, and full texts, 27 papers with 2311 cases involved that met the inclusion and exclusion criteria were finally included for the analysis. In terms of curative effect, the effect of G. pentaphyllum alone in increasing high density lipoprotein (HDL) index was better than that of conventional treatment, and the effect of reducing total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG) and low density lipoprotein (LDL) was similar to that of conventional treatment. There was a synergistic effect between G. pentaphyllum and conventional drugs, and the combination of G. pentaphyllum and conventional drugs was superior to conventional treatment in reducing TG and increasing HDL. G. pentaphyllum can also decrease the levels of serum glutamic pyruvic transaminase and glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase in the treatment of hyperlipidemia, indicating a certain protective function of the liver. In terms of safety, there were fewer cases of adverse reactions in the G. pentaphyllum treatment group, and the adverse reaction events reported in the literature was mild. According to the results of meta-analysis, G. pentaphyllum was effective in the treatment of hyperlipidemia, and it has the potential to be combined with traditional drugs, has a certain liver protection function, and was superior to traditional drugs in the treatment of hyperlipidemia.

Purpose:
Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) is the pathogen of coronavirus disease 2019. Diagnostic methods based on the clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats (CRISPR) have been developed to detect SARSCoV-2 rapidly. Therefore, a systematic review and meta-analysis were performed to assess the diagnostic accuracy of CRISPR for detecting SARS-CoV-2 infection.
Materials and Methods:
Studies published before August 2021 were retrieved from four databases, using the keywords “SARS-CoV-2” and “CRISPR.” Data were collected from these publications, and the sensitivity, specificity, negative likelihood ratio (NLR), positive likelihood ratio (PLR), and diagnostic odds ratio (DOR) were calculated. The summary receiver operating characteristic curve was plotted for analysis with MetaDiSc 1.4. The Stata 15.0 software was used to draw Deeks’ funnel plots to evaluate publication bias.
Results:
We performed a pooled analysis of 38 independent studies shown in 30 publications. The reference standard was reverse transcription-quantitative PCR. The results indicated that the sensitivity of CRISPR-based methods for diagnosis was 0.94 (95% CI 0.93–0.95), the specificity was 0.98 (95% CI 0.97–0.99), the PLR was 34.03 (95% CI 20.81–55.66), the NLR was 0.08 (95% CI 0.06– 0.10), and the DOR was 575.74 (95% CI 382.36–866.95). The area under the curve was 0.9894.
Conclusion
Studies indicate that a diagnostic method based on CRISPR has high sensitivity and specificity. Therefore, this would be a potential diagnostic tool to improve the accuracy of SARS-CoV-2 detection.

Objective:To explore the value of triple fusion positron emission tomography (PET)/MRI in location of epileptogenic focus in patients with focal cortical dysplasia (FCD).Methods:Three patients with refractory partial epilepsy, admitted to our hospital from December 2016 to June 2017, were chosen in our study. The raw MRI and PET images of these patients were processed using Freesurfer and FSL image processing softwares. After extraction and coregistration, precise PET/MRI fusion images were obtained; and the grey-white matter dividing line was highlighted on this fusion image to form triple-fusion images to observe the hypometabolic area and clarify the location.Results:Triple-fusion images of these 3 patients were acquired. In patient 1, a marked decrease in metabolism was noted in the gyrus region delineated by the gray-white matter boundary in the right cingulate gyrus. In patient 2, the area with slightly increased local signal in the right superior frontal gyrus (MRI FLAIR sequence) was the area with reduced metabolism. In patient 3, an area of local decreased metabolism was noted in the right cingulate gyrus. The preoperative evaluation of all 3 patients showed that the above areas were epileptic foci; the patients were followed up for 2 years after surgical resection, no clinical seizures occurred in all patients, and antiepileptic drugs were gradually stopped. All 3 patients were diagnosed as having FCD by postoperative pathology. Conclusion:Triple fusion PET/MRI is a powerful way to assist FCD diagnosis, especially for those FCD cases which are difficult to be diagnosed by other imaging methods, and has a potential clinical application value in epilepsy patients.

In this paper, nano-sponges of flavonoids from Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (LF-NSP) were prepared by agitation-freeze drying method. Box-benhnken design and response surface method based on the single factor experiment was used to optimize the preparation process, with the stirring temperature as well as stirring time and speed as the independent variables, while with drug loading, particle size and the generalized "normalized value" as the response values. In addition, the nano-sponges were characterized by scanning electron microscope (SEM), infraredspectroscopy (FT-IR) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), and its release in vitro was also investigated. The results showed that the optimum preparation conditions for glycyrrhizin nano-sponges were as follows:The proportion of main drug and auxiliary drug was 1:2; the proportion of crosslinking agent DPC and β-CD was 4:1; stirring temperature 45 °C for 4.8 h at 245 r·min⁻¹. The comprehensive score of LF-NSP prepared under these conditions was 94.78. FT-IR and DSC results indicated the formation of Glycyrrhiza flavonoids nano-sponges, and SEM showed that they were spherical particles in shape. In release experiment in vitro, the cumulative release of glycyrrhizin flavonoids nano-sponges for 240 min was 81.8%, while that of crude drug was only 31.5%. Nano-sponges can significantly improve the dissolution of flavonoids from Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma.
