1.Clinical value of peripheral immune function status in the assessment of'Deficiency of Vital Qi'in lung cancer metastasis

Objective:To investigate the association between peripheral immune function status and lung cancer metastasis,and to identify peripheral blood immune biomarkers for'Deficiency of Vital Qi'assessment in lung cancer metastasis.Methods:A retrospective analysis was conducted on peripheral blood immune markers collected before treatment from lung cancer patients admitted into Shanghai Municipal Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine,affiliated to Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine,between March 2023 and April 2025.Patients were categorized into the non-metastatic and the metastatic groups based on the presence of distant metastasis,and the differences in the expressions of immune cells and cytokines between groups were compared.Peripheral blood immune markers with P<0.05 in univariate analysis were incorporated into a multivariate binary logistic regression model to identify independent predictors of lung cancer metastasis.Results:A total of 193 lung cancer patients were included(101 in the non-metastatic group and 92 in the metastatic group).There were no statistically significant differences between the two groups in terms of gender,age,smoking history,drinking history,or pathological type(all P>0.05).Univariate analysis revealed significant differences in multiple immune markers between the non-metastatic and metastatic groups(all P<0.05),including:lymphocyte count,CD3+,CD4+,and CD8+T,CD19+B cells,absolute counts of CD3-CD16+CD56+NK cells,percentages of Treg cells,CD8+CD28+Treg cells,G-MDSC,and CD3-CD16+CD56+dim NK cells,and levels of cytokine IL-1β,IL-6,and IL-10.Binary logistic regression analysis of differential indicators suggested that the percentage of Treg cells and CD8+CD28+Treg cells in peripheral blood were independent predictors of distant metastasis in lung cancer(OR=1.193,95%CI[1.047,1.36],P<0.01;OR=0.978,95%CI[0.957,0.999],P<0.05).Conclusion:Peripheral blood immune dysfunction is the biological basis for'qi deficiency'in lung cancer metastasis.This study quantitatively demonstrates the correlation between peripheral immune function status and lung cancer metastasis,providing empirical evidence for the theories of'qi deficiency and hidden toxicity'and'metastatic state of tumors'.
2.Decline in semen concentration of healthy Chinese adults: evidence from 9357 participants from 2010 to 2015.

The present study aims to analyze sperm concentration trends among young and healthy Chinese adults in Wuhan, Central China, from 2010 to 2015. Semen analysis data from 9357 participants were collected and analyzed using a general linear model and the Cochran-Armitage trend test. A significant decline was observed in sperm concentration (β [standard deviation]: -1.53 [0.16]; P < 0.001). In addition, a decline in sperm density was observed by stratifying student versus nonstudent sperm donors and by analyzing the year of birth or birth year cohort of the participants. Furthermore, the percentage of participants with sperm densities of over 40 × 106 ml-1 significantly decreased with year. Notably, a dramatic decline in sperm density was recorded over the first 5 years of study. This research reported a decline in sperm concentration among young adults in Wuhan, Central China, in 2010-2015.

3.Prevention and treatment of the related complications of tibial fractures bone defect by bone transport.

OBJECTIVETo explore the therapeutic methods for the prevention and treatment of tibial bone defect and bone transport related complications.
METHODSFrom January 2012 to June 2015, 38 cases of bone defect of tibia were treated by bone transport technique treatment, including 26 males and 12 females, with an average age of 49.0 years old ranging from 36 to 66 years old. All patients were open fractures. The length of bone defect of 38 patients was 4 to 9.6 cm with an average of 5.2 cm. The force line and bone carrying rate were adjusted in time after operation. Patients insisted on loading.
RESULTSAll patients were followed up for 17 to 36 months with an average of 24 months. Among them, 19 patients got natural healing in involution end;the other 18 cases respectively got healing after accordion technology in 10 cases, auxiliary internal fixation of bone graft after corresponding processing in 8 cases, 1 patient for dottiness, pneumonia, the knee joint dislocation, diabetes, cerebral palsy sequela was difficult to care, patients' families urged amputation surgery, so the amputation processing. The time of moving the bone transport was 4 to 10 months with an average of 7.1 months. Move length was 5 to 11.6 cm with an average of 8.0 cm. According to tibial stem diagnostic criteria of Johner-Wruhs score, 11 cases were excellent, 18 cases were good, 6 cases were moderate and 3 cases were poor. In addition to 1 case of amputation, the remaining cases were cured, no infection recurrence, re fracture and so on.
CONCLUSIONSBone transport method is an effective method for the treatment of bone defect of tibia, but the existence of many complications is to limit the clinical application of the main factors, including shifting when the distance is too long the long reprojected line offset (bone exposure), nail tract infection, pin loosening, subsidence of soft tissue, loss of function of knee and ankle joint, pull a callus is not long, the contact ends were nonunion.
