Testicular radiation injury is a structural and functional abnormality of the testes caused directly or indirectly by radiation, which disrupts spermatogenesis and compromises male fertility. The development of effective preventive and therapeutic interventions is essential because of the high prevalence of this condition in clinical settings and its profound effect on patients′ reproductive health and overall well-being. The concept of "the struggle between vital qi and pathogen" is first seen in the Treatise on Cold Pathogenic Diseases. It denotes the dynamic struggle between vital and pathogenic qi. The occurrence, development, and sequelae of all diseases reflect this ongoing conflict. In this context, this study defines the "vital qi" of the testis as its capacity to generate and preserve the essence of reproduction and to resist damage. The pathogenic qi associated with testicular radiation injury is categorized into two types: ionizing poison and retaining evil. The pathogenesis of testicular radiation damage is delineated into three stages by integrating the characteristics of vital and pathogenic qi: the injury, adhesion, and recovery phases. Based on the theoretical framework advanced by this study, the therapeutic approach for testicular radiation injury should adhere to the fundamental principle of strengthening vital qi and eliminating pathogenic factors. Although the primary focus of treatment should be on strengthening vital qi, it should also be complemented by strategies to eliminate pathogenic influences. This paper aims to provide a novel perspective and strategic approach to the traditional Chinese medicine diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of testicular radiation injury. By elucidating the process of testicular radiation injury and its corresponding treatment principles, it seeks to offer valuable insights for clinical practice.

Objective To explore the mediating role of occupational well-being in the relationship between professional identity and safety behavior among nurses. Methods A total of 1 006 nurses from ten tertiary general hospitals in eight provincial administrative regions were selected as the research subjects using convenient sampling method. Their safety behavior, professional identity and occupational well-being were investigated using Nurse Safety Behavior Scale, Nurse Professional Identity Scale and Occupational Well-being Scale. Structural equation modeling was performed using AMOS 26.0 to examine the mediating effect of occupational well-being in the relationship between professional identity and safety behavior among nurses. Results The scores for safety behavior, professional identity, and occupational well-being were (53.0±6.1), (123.7±21.2) and (90.8±13.1), respectively. Safety behavior was positively correlated with both professional identity and occupational well-being (correlation coefficients were 0.50 and 0.50, respectively, both P<0.01). Professional identity was positively correlated with occupational well-being (correlation coefficient was 0.51, P<0.01). The multiple linear regression analysis results showed that the higher the professional identity and occupational well-being of nurses, the higher the level of safety behavior (both P<0.05). The result of mediating effect shows that the total effect of occupational identity on safety behavior was 0.498 [95% confidence interval (CI) was 0.405-0.576], and occupational well-being played a mediating role between professional identity and safety behavior among nurses with the mediation effect of 0.156 (95%CI was 0.112-0.205), accounting for 31.33% of the total effect. Conclusion The safety behavior of nurses is at a moderate level. Both professional identity and occupational well-being can affect the safety behavior of nurses. Professional identity can increase the safety behavior of nurses by affecting occupational well-being.

Chinese Journal of Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery 2018;53(12):899-903
Objective:
To investigate the clinical characteristics, prognosis and affected branches of vestibular neuritis in children.
Methods:
Twenty-five patients with vestibular neuritis in ENT department, Beijing Children′s Hospital, from October 2015 to October 2016, were collected. All patients were 4-14 (mean 9.8) years old including 17 boys and 8 girls. The clinical manifestations history, pure tone audiometry (PTA), vestibular function tests were done for each patient. We also took the blood samples for pathogenic virus in order to analyze the premorbid risk factors.
Results:
Rotational vertigo were complained by all presents. There were 17 cases (68%, 17/25) with nausea and vomiting and 19 cases (76%, 19/25) with balance dysfunction. There were 12 cases (60%, 12/20) with positive results in 20 blood samples for virology, among which 6 cases of influenza B virus and 4 cases of herpes simplex virus, 1 case of cytomegalovirus and 1 case of coxsackie were identified. The results of PTA were normal. Bithermal caloric test was abnormal in 22 cases (88%, 22/25). The ocular vestibular-evoked myogenic potential (oVEMP) in 12 cases (48%, 12/25) and cervical vestibular-evoked myogenic potential (cVEMP) in 5 cases (20%, 5/25) were abnormal. The bithermal caloric test along with oVEMP and cVEMP in 4 cases (16%, 4/25) were abnormal. The bithermal caloric test and oVEMP in 7 cases (28%, 7/25) were abnormal. The bithermal caloric test in 11 cases (44%, 11/25) were abnormal. The oVEMP in 1 cases (4%, 1/25) was abnormal. The cVEMP in 1 cases (4%, 1/25) was abnormal. All patients recovered well, but the time varied. The symptoms of 21 patients were complete recovery within 1 month. 3 patients were complete recovery within 2 months (aged 8 - 14 years old). One patient was complete recovery within 6 months (aged 13 years old).
Conclusion
Rotary vertigo is most commonly in children with vestibular neuritis, accompany with imbalance and vomiting. The vestibular neuritis in children might be related with upper respiratory tract infection. Audiometry test is normal. Because of the bithermal caloric test and oVEMP are obvious abnormality, therefore it is speculated that the superior vestibular nerve may most commonly be affected. The younger patients with vestibular neuritis recovered more quickly than the older children.

Chinese Journal of Gastroenterology 2017;22(8):502-505
Pancreatic cancer is characterized by high invasiveness, high malignancy and poor prognosis. Therefore,it is urgent to find biomarkers for early diagnosis and to develop targeting drugs for treatment of pancreatic cancer. MicroRNAs (miRNAs)are single-stranded,non-coding small RNA molecules with a length of 18-25 nucleotides and are highly expressed in pancreatic cancer. MiRNAs play important roles in cell proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, invasion and metastasis, and are associated with adverse prognosis and resistance to chemotherapy in pancreatic cancer. As a new target for diagnosis and treatment of pancreatic cancer,miRNA-21 has become the hot spot of clinical research. This article reviewed the advances in studies on miRNA-21 in the pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment of pancreatic cancer.

Chinese Journal of Gastroenterology 2017;22(12):748-751
Imaging examinations such as CT,MRI and ultrasonography are of great importance for the diagnosis of digestive system neoplasms. However, some digestive system neoplasms are difficult to be detected at early stage and make qualitative diagnosis by conventional imaging techniques because of their unique clinical characteristics. Compared with conventional imaging techniques, endoscopic ultrasonography-guided fine needle aspiration (EUS-FNA)can not only detect the early lesions, but also make accurate qualitative diagnosis. The development and improvement of EUS-FNA greatly improve the diagnostic level of digestive system neoplasms. In this paper, the diagnostic value of EUS-FNA in digestive system neoplasms was reviewed.
