OBJECTIVE: To explore the mechanism of antibiotic delivery system targeting bacterial biofilm with linezolid (LZD) based on ε-poly- L-lysine (ε-PLL) and cyclodextrin (CD) (ε-PLL-CD-LZD), aiming to enhance antibiotic bioavailability, effectively penetrate and disrupt biofilm structures, and thereby improve the treatment of bone and joint infections. METHODS: ε-PLL-CD-LZD was synthesized via chemical methods. The grafting rate of CD was characterized using nuclear magnetic resonance. In vitro biocompatibility was evaluated through live/dead cell staining after co-culturing with mouse embryonic osteoblast precursor cells (MC3T3-E1), human umbilical vein endothelial cells, and mouse embryonic fibroblast cells (3T3-L1). The biofilm-enrichment capacity of ε-PLL-CD-LZD was assessed using Staphylococcus aureus biofilms through enrichment studies. Its biofilm eradication efficacy was investigated via minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) determination, scanning electron microscopy, and live/dead bacterial staining. A bone and joint infection model in male Sprague-Dawley rats was established to validate the antibacterial effects of ε-PLL-CD-LZD. RESULTS: In ε-PLL-CD-LZD, the average grafting rate of CD reached 9.88%. The cell viability exceeded 90% after co-culturing with three types cells. The strong biofilm enrichment capability was observed with a MIC of 2 mg/L. Scanning electron microscopy observations revealed the effective disruption of biofilm structure, indicating potent biofilm eradication capacity. In vivo rat experiments demonstrated that ε-PLL-CD-LZD significantly reduced bacterial load and infection positivity rate at the lesion site ( P<0.05). CONCLUSION The ε-PLL-CD antibiotic delivery system provides a treatment strategy for bone and joint infections with high clinical translational significance. By effectively enhancing antibiotic bioavailability, penetrating, and disrupting biofilms, it demonstrated significant anti-infection effects in animal models.

Objective:Multi-drug resistant bacterial infection（MRSA） complications occurring in cochlear implant recipients is rare and of serious consequence. This paper aimed to summarize the treatment experience of a patient with MRSA infection after cochlear implantation. A patient with nasopharyngeal malignant tumor after radiotherapy developed to severe sensorineural deafness. She suffered MRSA infection nine days after cochlear implantation. Since the wound failed to heal after weeks of topical and systemic sensitive antibiotic therapy, the patient underwent surgery for wound debridement. The stimulator-receiver and the electrode of the implant was removed, negative pressure wound therapy was applied, and systemic anti-infection treatment with sensitive antibiotics for weeks, the patients recovered and was discharged from hospital 69 days after infection.

Objective: To explore the clinical characteristics, common pathogens in children with vulvovaginitis. Methods: This was a retrospective cases study. A total of 3 268 children with vulvovaginitis were enrolled, who visited the Department of Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology, Children's Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine from January 2009 to December 2019. Patients were divided into 3 groups according to the age of <7, 7-<10 and 10-18 years. Patients were also divided in to 4 groups according to the season of first visit. The pathogen distribution characteristics of infective vulvovaginitis were compared between the groups. Their clinical data were collected and then analyzed by χ² test. Results: The were 3 268 girls aged (6.2±2.5) years. There were 1 728 cases (52.9%) aged <7 years, 875 cases (26.8%) aged 7-<10 years, and 665 cases (20.3%) aged 10-18 years. Of these cases, 2 253 cases (68.9%) were bacterial vulvovaginitis, 715 cases (21.9%) were fungal vulvovaginitis and 300 cases (9.2%) were vulvovaginitis infected with other pathogens. Bacterial culture of vaginal secretions was performed in 2 287 cases, and 2 287 strains (70.0%) of pathogens were detected, of which the top 5 pathogens were Streptococcus pyogenes (745 strains, 32.6%), Haemophilus influenzae (717 strains, 31.4%), Escherichia coli (292 strains, 12.8%), Staphylococcus aureus (222 strains, 9.7%) and Klebsiella pneumoniae (67 strains, 2.9%). Regarding different age groups, H.influenzae was the most common in children under 7 years of age (40.3%, 509/1 263), S.pyogenes (41.9%, 356/849) was predominantly in children aged 7 to 10 years, and E.coli was predominant in children aged 10 to 18 years (26.3%, 46/175). Susceptibility results showed that S.pyogenes was susceptible to penicillin G (610/610, 100.0%), ceftriaxone (525/525, 100.0%), and vancomycin (610/610, 100.0%); the resistance rates to erythromycin and clindamycin were 91.9% (501/545)and 90.7% (495/546), respectively. For H.influenzae, 32.5% (161/496) produced β-elactamase, and all strains were sensitive to meropenem (489/489, 100.0%) and levofloxacin (388/388, 100.0%), while 40.5% (202/499) were resistant to ampicillin. Among E.coli, all strains were sensitive to imipenem(100%, 175/175). The resistance rates of E.coli to levofloxacin and ceftriaxone were 29.1% (43/148) and 35.1% (59/168), respectively. A total of 48 strains of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) were isolated with a proportion of 28.3% (45/159) in 3 268 patients. The results of drug susceptibility test showed that all MRSA strains were sensitive to linezolid 100.0% (40/40), vancomycin (45/45, 100.0%), and tigecycline (36/36, 100.0%); the resistance rates of MRSA to penicillin G, erythromycin and clindamycin were 100% (45/45), 95.6% (43/45) and 88.9% (40/45), respectively. All methicillin-sensitive Staphylococcus aureus (MSSA) strains were sensitive to oxacillin (114/114, 100.0%), linezolid (94/94, 100.0%), vancomycin (114/114, 100.0%), and tigecycline (84/84, 100.0%); it's resistance rates to penicillin G, erythromycin and clindamycin were 78.1% (89/114), 59.7% (68/114) and 46.5% (53/114), respectively. The drug resistance rate of MSSA to penicillin G, erythromycin and clindamycin were lower than those of MRSA (χ²=11.71,19.74,23.95, respectively, all P<0.001). Conclusions: The age of consultation for pediatric infectious vulvovaginitis is mainly around 6 years. The most common pathogens are S.pyogenes, H.influenzae and Escherichia coli. Third generation cephalosporins can be used as the first choice of empirical anti-infection drugs. However, the results of drug susceptibility should be considered for targeted treatment.

Objective: To understand the distribution and antimicrobial resistance of common bacteria from children aged 0-14 years from China Antimicrobial Resistance Surveillance System. Methods: Bacterial resistance data of 2 575 040 strains from children aged 0-14 years were extracted from the national bacterial resistance surveillance reports from October 2018 to September 2022 and resistance changes were further analyzed by comparing with all data in each year. Results: The total number of bacteria isolated from children in 2018-2022 ranged from 415 306-588 016 strains, accounted for 15.9% (514 193/3 234 372), 16.2% (572 107/3 528 471), 12.8% (415 306/3 249 123), 13.0% (485 418/3 743 027), and 12.2% (588 016/4 828 509), respectively. The proportions of gram-positive bacteria among children were 45.4% (233 456/514 193), 44.5% (254 869/572 107), 44.7% (185 756/415 306), 42.6% (206 903/485 418), and 41.7% (245 044/588 016), respectively. The top five isolates of gram-positive bacteria were Staphylococcus aureus (36.0%-38.8%), Streptococcus pneumoniae (27.1%-31.7%), Staphylococcus epidermidis (7.3%-9.3%), Enterococcus faecium (4.0%-4.8%), and Enterococcus faecium (2.5%-3.6%), and the top five isolates of gram-negative bacteria were Escherichia coli (21.8%-26.2%), Haemophilus influenzae (14.4%-26.4%), Klebsiella pneumoniae (10.1%-14.7%), Moraxella catarrhalis (7.3%-11.9%), and Pseudomonas aeruginosa (5.5%-6.8%). The bacteria from children aged 0-14 years commonly isolated from sputum samples (48.8%-57.0%). The prevalence of methicillin-resistant S. aureus was 28.7%-30.1%. The detection rates of vancomycin-resistant E. faecalis or E. faecium were 0.1%-0.3%. The proportions of non-cerebrospinal fluid-derived penicillin-resistant S. pneumoniae were 0.7%-1.6%. The prevalence of cefotaxime and (or) ceftriaxone-resistant E. coli and K. pneumoniae decreased were 43.7%-50.0% and 31.8%-42.7%, respectively. The resistant rates of E. coli to imipenem and meropenem were 1.2%-1.9% and 1.2%-2.0%, respectively, and the resistant rates of K. pneumoniae to imipenem and meropenem were 7.3%-10.1% and 8.2%-12.2%, respectively. About 6.6%-10.2% and 5.3%-9.6% of the P. aeruginosa isolates showed resistant to imipenem and meropenem, respectively, while 17.2%-24.0% and 19.0%-29.4% of the Acinetobacter baumannii isolates were resistant to imipenem and meropenem, respectively. Conclusions: There is no significant change in the composition of common clinical pathogens in children aged 0-14 years from 2018 to 2022. The prevalence of some resistant bacteria such as methicillin-resistant S. aureus and carbapenem-resistant Enterobacterales is decreasing. However, it is necessary to pay attention to antimicrobial resistance of bacteria from children and long-term monitoring of the prevalence of resistant bacteria should be conducted.

Objective: To analyze the clinical characteristics, pathogenic bacteria, complications and risk factors of prognosis of acute hematogenous osteomyelitis in children. Methods: The clinical manifestations, laboratorg tests, etiological charateristics and clinical data of 107 patients with acute hematogenous osteomyelitis admitted to Beijing Children's Hospital from January 2017 to December 2020 were retrospectively analyzed. According to the drug sensitivity results of Staphylococcus aureus, the group was divided into methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and methicillin-susceptible Staphylococcus aureus (MSSA) group; according to the presence or absence of complications, the group was divided into the group with and without complications; according to the prognosis of the follow-up children, the group was divided into good prognosis and poor prognosis. The χ² test or Mann-Whitney U test used for comparison between groups, and Logistic regression was used to analyze the risk factors for complications and prognosis. Results: Of the 107 patients, 62 were males and 45 were females. The age of presentation was 5.6 (1.7, 10.0) years, including 5 patients (4.7%) age from >28 days to 3 months, 46 patients (43.0%) age from >3 months to 5 years, 43 patients (40.2%)>5-12 years of age, and 13 patients (12.1%)>12-18 years of age. The first symptoms were acute fever in 35 patients (32.7%), limb pain in 24 patients (22.4%), and fever with limb pain in 23 patients (21.5%). Pathogen culture was positive in 75 patients (70.1%), Streptococcus pyogenes, Salmonella enterica and Escherichia coli in 1 case (1.4%) each, and Staphylococcus aureus in 72 cases (96.0%), among them, 47 cases were MSSA, 22 cases were MRSA, and 3 cases had positive reports of Staphylococcus aureus from other hospitals without drug-sensitive tests. The proportion of infected children living in rural areas and receiving surgical treatment was higher in the MRSA group than in the MSSA group (14 cases (63.6%) vs. 18 cases (38.3%) and 21 cases (95.5%) vs. 33 cases (70.2%), χ²=3.87, 4.23, both P<0.05). Sixty-five children had no complications while 42 children (39.3%) suffered from complications. Common complications consisted of 19 cases (17.8%) of sepsis, 17 cases (15.9%) of septic arthritis, and 12 cases (11.2%) of venous thrombosis. The group with complications showed higher mental changes, decreased appetite and (or) weakness, positive pathogenic cultures, and time from admission to surgery than the group without complications (18 cases (42.9%) vs. 9 cases (13.8%), 20 cases (47.6%) vs. 12 cases (18.5%), 34 cases (81.0%) vs. 41 cases (63.1%), 3.5 (2.0, 6.0) vs. 2.0 (1.0, 4.0) d,χ²=11.38, 10.35, 3.89, Z=2.21, all P<0.05). The poor prognosis group had more comorbidities, combined local complications, and positive aureus than the good prognosis group (10/15 vs. 34.9% (30/86), 7/15 vs. 17.4% (15/86), 14/15 vs. 61.6% (53/86), χ²=5.39, 6.40, 4.42, all P<0.05). Multifactorial Logistic regression analysis showed that acute phase C-reactive protein (CRP) was both an independent risk factor for complications (OR=1.01, 95%CI 1.01-1.02) and an independent risk factor for poor prognosis (OR=1.01, 95%CI 1.00-1.02). Conclusions: The first symptoms of acute hematogenous osteomyelitis are acute fever, limb pain, and fever with limb pain are most common. Staphylococcus aureus is the most common pathogenic organism. Those with loss of appetite and (or) weakness, mental changes, positive pathogenic cultures, and longer time between admission and surgery are prone to complications. Those with complications, combined local complications, and positive for Staphylococcus aureus had a poor prognosis. Elevated CRP is an independent risk factor not only for complications but for poor prognosis as well.

Infective endocarditis in pregnancy is extremely rare in clinical practice. Guidelines addressing prophylaxis and management of infective endocarditis do not extensively deal with concomitant pregnancy, and case reports on infective endocarditis are scarce. Due to increased blood volume and hemodynamic changes in late pregnancy, endocardial neoplasms are easy to fall off and cause systemic or pulmonary embolism, respiratory, cardiac arrest and sudden death may occur in pregnant women, the fetus can suffer from intrauterine distress and stillbirth at any time, leading to adverse outcomes for pregnant women and fetuses. The disease is dangerous and difficult to treat, which seriously threatens the lives of mothers and babies. Early diagnosis and reasonable treatment can effectively improve the prognosis of patients. The most important method for the treatment of infective endocarditis requires early, adequate, long-term and combined antibiotic therapy. Moreover, surgical controversies regarding indication and timing of treatment exist, especially in pregnancy. In terms of the timing of termination of pregnancy, the timing of cardiac surgery, and the method of surgery, individualized programs must be adopted. A pregnant woman with 30⁺⁵ weeks of gestation is reported. She was admitted to hospital due to intermittent chest tightness, suffocation and fever, with grade Ⅲ cardiac insufficiency. Imaging revealed large mitral valve vegetation, 22.0 mm×4.1 mm and 22.0 mm×5.1 mm, respectively, and severe valve regurgitation. Mitral valve perforation was more likely, blood culture suggested Staphylococcus epidermidis infection, after antibiotic conservative treatment, the effect was poor. After the joint consultation including cardiology, neonatology, interventional vascular surgery, anesthesiology, and obstetrics, the combined operation of obstetrics and cardiac surgery was performed in time. The heart was blocked for 60 minutes, the bleeding was 1 200 mL, the newborn was mildly asphyxiated after birth, and the birth weight was 1 890 g. Nine days after the operation, the patient was discharged from the hospital, and the newborn was discharged with the weight of 2 020 g. Critical cases like this require a thorough weighing of risks and benefits followed by swift action to protect the mother and her unborn child. An optimal outcome in a challenging case like this greatly depends on effective interdisciplinary communication, informed consent of the patient, and concerted action among the specialists involved.

Objective: To investigate the effects of methacrylic anhydride gelatin (GelMA) hydrogel loaded with silver and recombinant human basic fibroblast growth factor (rh-bFGF) on deep partial-thickness burn wounds in rabbits. Methods: The experimental research method was adopted. Low-concentration GelMA materials, medium-concentration GelMA materials and high-concentration GelMA materials containing different concentrations of methacrylic anhydride (MA) were prepared, after adding photoinitiator, low-concentration GelMA hydrogels, medium-concentration GelMA hydrogels, and high-concentration GelMA hydrogels were obtained, respectively. The nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy was performed to detect the hydrogen nuclear magnetic resonance spectra of the above-mentioned three concentrations of GelMA materials, and to calculate the degree of substitution according to the spectrum diagram. The three-dimensional microstructure and pore size of 3 types of above-mentioned GelMA hydrogels were detected by field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), with 9 samples measured. According to the selected concentration of MA, ten kinds of solutions of GelMA with different concentration of silver (silver-containing GelMA) were synthesized, and the silver-containing GelMA solution of each concentration was divided into three parts, and then exposed to ultraviolet light lasting for 20, 25, and 35 s, respectively. After adding photoinitiator,the corresponding silver-containing GelMA hydrogels were obtained. The residual degradation rate of silver-containing GelMA hydrogel with different photocrosslinking times was detected by collagenase degradation method at degradation of 12, 24, 36, and 48 h; and the time required for complete degradation was detected, and the sample number was 5. The inhibition zone diameter of GelMA hydrogel under above screened photocrosslinking times containing 10 concentrations of silver against Staphylococcus aureus was measured to reflect its antibacterial ability, and the sample numbers were all 5. The silver-containing GelMA hydrogel with statistical significance compared with the antibacterial circle diameter of the silver-containing GelMA hydrogel containing the lowest concentration (no silver) was considered as having antibacterial activity. The three-dimensional microstructure and pore size of the silver-containing GelMA hydrogels with antibacterial activity and the lowest drug concentration selected were detected by FESEM, and the sample numbers were all 9. The freeze-dried alone GelMA hydrogel and the freeze-dried silver-containing GelMA hydrogel were soaked in phosphate buffer solution for 24 h, respectively, then the swelling rate of the two GelMA hydrogel were calculated and compared by weighing method, and the sample number was 5. GelMA hydrogel containing silver and rh-bFGF, namely compound hydrogel for short, was prepared according to the preliminary experiment and the above experimental results. The appearance of the composite hydrogel was observed in general, and its three-dimensional microstructure and pore size were detected by FESEM. The deep partial-thickness burn wound was made on the back of 30 rabbits (aged 4-6 months, female half and half). Meanwhile, with the rabbit head as the benchmark, the wounds on the left side of the spine were treated as composite hydrogel treatment group, and the wounds on the right side were treated as gauze control group, and which were treated accordingly. On post injury day (PID) 3, 7, 14, 21, and 28, the healing of wounds in the two groups was observed. On PID 7, 14, 21, and 28, the wound healing area was recorded and the healing rate was calculated, with a sample number of 30. Data were statistically analyzed with analysis of variance for repeated measurement, one-way analysis of variance, and independent sample t test. Results: The substitution degree among low-concentration GelMA materials, medium-concentration GelMA materials, and high-concentration GelMA materials was significantly different (F=1 628.00, P<0.01). The low-concentration GelMA hydrogel had a loose and irregular three-dimensional spatial network structure with a pore size of (60±17) μm; the medium-concentration GelMA hydrogel had a relatively uniform three-dimensional spatial network and pore size with a pore size of (45±13) μm; the high-concentration GelMA hydrogel had the dense and disordered three-dimensional spatial network with a pore size of (25±15) μm, the pore sizes of 3 types of GelMA hydrogels were significantly differences (F=12.20, P<0.01), and medium concentration of MA was selected for the concentration of subsequent materials. The degradability of silver-containing GelMA hydrogels with different concentrations of the same photocrosslinking time was basically same. The degradation residual rates of silver-containing GelMA hydrogels with 20, 25, and 35 s crosslinking time at 12 h were (74.2±1.7)%, (85.3±0.9)%, and (93.2±1.2)%, respectively; the residual rates of degradation at 24 h were (58.3±2.1)%, (65.2±1.8)%, and (81.4±2.6)%, respectively; the residual rates of degradation at 36 h were (22.4±1.9)%, (45.2±1.7)%, and (68.1±1.4)%, respectively; the residual rates of degradation at 48 h were (8.2±1.7)%, (32.4±1.3)%, and (54.3±2.2)%, respectively, and 20, 25, and 30 s photocrosslinking time required for complete degradation of silver-containing GelMA hydrogels were (50.2±2.4), (62.4±1.4), and (72.2±3.2) h, and the difference was statistically significant (F=182.40, P<0.01), 25 s were selected as the subsequent photocrosslinking time. The antibacterial diameters of 10 types of silver-containing GelMA hydrogels against Staphylococcus aureus from low to high concentrations were (2.6±0.4), (2.5±0.4), (3.2±0.4), (12.1±0.7), (14.8±0.7), (15.1±0.5), (16.2±0.6), (16.7±0.5), (16.7±0.4), and (16.7±0.6) mm, respectively, and which basically showed a concentration-dependent increasing trend, and the overall difference was statistically significant (F=428.70, P<0.01). Compared with the silver-containing GelMA hydrogel with the lowest concentration, the antibacterial circle diameters of other silver-containing GelMA hydrogels with antibacterial ability from low to high concentration were significantly increased (with t values of 26.35, 33.84, 43.65, 42.17, 49.24, 55.74, and 43.72, respectively, P<0.01). The silver-containing GelMA hydrogel with the antibacterial diameter of (12.1±0.7) mm had the lowest antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus and the lowest drug loading concentration, and the concentration of silver was selected for the concentration of subsequent materials. The microscopic morphology of the silver-containing GelMA hydrogel containing silver element with a pore size of (45±13) μm had a regular and linear strip-like structure. After soaking for 24 h, the swelling ratio of silver-containing GelMA hydrogel was similar to that of alone GelMA hydrogel. The composite hydrogel was colorless, clear and transparent, and its three-dimensional microstructure was a regular and uniform grid, with a filament network structure inside, and the pore size of (40±21) μm. On PID 3, a large amount of necrotic tissue and exudate of rabbit wound in composite hydrogel group were observed, and scattered scabs, a small amount of necrotic tissue and exudate of rabbit wound in gauze control group were observed. On PID 7, the area of rabbit wound in composite hydrogel group was significantly reduced, and adhesion of rabbit wound and gauze in gauze control group was observed. On PID 14, In composite hydrogel group, the rabbit wound surface was ruddy, and the growth of granulation tissue was observed, and in gauze control group, the rabbit wound base was pale, and the blood supply was poor. On PID 21, the rabbit wounds in composite hydrogel group healed completely, and rabbit wound in gauze control group had healing trend. On PID 28, new hair could be seen on rabbit wound surface in composite hydrogel group; oval wound of rabbit in gauze control group still remained. On PID 7, 14, 21, and 28, the wound healing areas of rabbit in composite hydrogel group were significantly larger than those in gauze control group (with t values of 2.24, 4.43, 7.67, and 7.69, respectively, P<0.05 or P<0.01). Conclusions: The medium-concentration GelMA hydrogel has good physical and chemical properties in terms of swelling and degradability. The screened silver-containing GelMA hydrogels had the lowest antibacterial activity and the lowest drug loading concentration. Composite hydrogel can significantly shorten the healing time of deep partial-thickness burn wounds in rabbits.

Objective: Owing to antibiotic abuse and the subsequent development of antibiotic resistance, bacterial infection has become one of the most persistent unresolved problems. New antibacterial agents, especially those that are environmental-friendly, are urgently needed. Methods: Melanin extracted by filtration centrifugation and acid and proteolytic hydrolysis was characterized using UV, FTIR, TEM, and XPS. Photothermal conversion was calculated, and the bacteriostatic effects, and , were assessed by plate counting and ratios (%) of wound areas. Results: Natural melanin hydrolyzed by trypsin had good photothermal conversion effects, which resulted in superior bacteriostatic activities. The extracted melanin along with laser NIR irradiation at 808 nm promoted the healing of wounds infected by drug-resistant bacteria and was biocompatible according to toxicity tests and . Conclusion The present findings indicated a safe and efficient method of developing natural antibacterial agents.

Inflatable penile prostheses are an important tool in the treatment of medically refractory erectile dysfunction. One of the major complications associated with these prostheses is infections, which ultimately require device explanation and placement of a new device. Over the past several decades, significant work has been done to reduce infection rates and optimize treatment strategies to reduce patient morbidity. This article reviews the current state of knowledge surrounding penile prosthesis infections, with attention to the evidence for methods to prevent infection and best practices for device reimplantation.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect of augmented renal clearance (ARC) on plasma concentration of vancomycin, bacteriological outcome, and clinical outcome in children with methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) infection treated by vancomycin. METHODS: A retrospective analysis was performed for the clinical data of 60 critically ill children who were treated with vancomycin due to MRSA infection from January 2013 to July 2017 and underwent plasma concentration monitoring. According to estimated glomerular filtration rate, these children were divided into an ARC group with 19 children and a normal renal function group with 41 children. The two groups were compared in terms of the use of vancomycin, plasma concentration of vancomycin, and treatment outcome. RESULTS: The children in the ARC group had an age of 1-12 years, and the ARC group had significantly higher body weight and body surface area than the normal renal function group (P<0.05). Compared with the normal renal function group, the ARC group had a significantly lower initial trough concentration of vancomycin and a significantly lower proportion of children who achieved the effective trough concentration of vancomycin (10-20 mg/L) (P<0.05). There were no significant differences in bacteriological outcome and clinical outcome between the two groups (P>0.05), but the ARC group had significantly longer length of stay in the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) and length of hospital stay than the normal renal function group (P<0.05). CONCLUSIONS ARC can significantly reduce the trough concentration of vancomycin and prolong the length of PICU stay and the length of hospital stay in children with MRSA infection. Idividualized medication should be administered to children with ARC.
