Acupuncture treatment of chronic pain combined with depression (CPDC) is the result of a multi-target, multi-pathway approach. Acupuncture can treat CPDC by inhibiting the activation of glial cells, regulating the release of inflammatory mediators, regulating the expressions of neurotransmitters, changing the plasticity of neural synapses, regulating related epigenetic effects, regulating the microbiota-brain-gut axis, inhibiting nerve cell apoptosis, and antagonizing oxidative stress. The mechanism of its effect mainly involves anti-inflammatory related signaling pathways, regulation of neural synapse-related signaling pathways, and exerts its therapeutic effect through hippocampus, cerebral cortex, and amygdala.

ObjectiveTo investigate the mechanism of Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma(AMR) in the treatment of slow-transmission constipation(STC) by observing the effects of AMR on short-chain fatty acids and intestinal barries in STC mice. MethodForty-eight male KM mice were randomly divided into blank group, model group, AMR low-, medium-, high-dose groups(2.5, 5, 10 g·kg-1) and mosapride group(2.5 mg·kg-1). Except for the blank group, all groups were gavaged with loperamide suspension(5 mg·kg-1) twice daily for 14 d to construct the STC mouse model. At the same time, each drug administration group was given the corresponding drug by gavage for consecutive 14 d, the blank and model groups were gavaged with equal volume of distilled water. The effects of the treatment of AMR on body mass, defecation frequency, fecal water content and intestinal propulsion rate of mice were observed, the pathological changes of mouse colon were observed by hematoxylin-eosin(HE) staining and periodic acid-Schiff(PAS) staining, the levels of gastrin(GAS) and motilin(MTL) in serum were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA), gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-MS) was used to detect the contents of short-chain fatty acids(SCFAs) in mouse feces, real-time fluorescence quantitative polymerase chain reaction(Real-time PCR) and Western blot were used to determine the mRNA and protein expression levels of zonula occludens-1(ZO-1), Occludin, and Claudin-1 in the colon of mice. ResultCompared with the blank group, the body mass, defecation frequency, fecal water content and intestinal propulsion rate of mice in the model group were significantly decreased(P<0.05, P<0.01), the arrangement of colonic tissues was disordered, and the number of goblet cells was reduced, the levels of GAS and MTL in serum were significantly decreased(P<0.01), and the levels of SCFAs in the feces were on a decreasing trend, with the contents of acetic acid, propionic acid, butyric acid, isobutyric acid and valeric acid were significantly decreased(P<0.05, P<0.01), the mRNA and protein expression levels of ZO-1, Occludin and Claudin-1 in the colonic tissues were significantly decreased(P<0.01). The above results suggested that STC mouse model was successfully constructed. Compared with the model group, the body mass, defecation frequency, fecal water content and intestinal propulsion rate of mice in AMP administration groups all increased significantly(P<0.05, P<0.01), the mucosal layer of the colonic tissues was structurally intact without obvious damage, and the number of goblet cells increased, serum levels of GAS and MTL were significantly increased(P<0.01), the contents of SCFAs in the feces were all on a rising trend, with the contents of acetic, propionic, butyric and isobutyric acids rising significantly(P<0.05, P<0.01), the mRNA and protein expression levels of ZO-1, Occludin and Claudin-1 in the colonic tissues were significantly increased(P<0.05, P<0.01). ConclusionAMR is able to improve the constipation symptoms in STC mice, and its mechanism may be related to increasing the contents of SCFAs in the intestine as well as promoting the mRNA and protein expression levels of ZO-1, Occludin and Claudin-1 in the colon.

Objective To evaluate the predictive value of a dose-surface histogram (DSH) for radiation cystitis (RC) in patients with cervical cancer. Methods We retrospectively included 190 patients with cervical cancer who underwent image-guided radiotherapy (IGRT) from the HIS system of The First Affiliated Hospital of Hebei North University from May 2013 to May 2023. The patients were divided into test group (n = 100) and control group (n = 90). The dose distribution in the bladder was evaluated by using a DSH for the test group and using a dose-volume histogram (DVH) for the control group. Receiver operating characteristic curves were used to evaluate the predictive value of DSH for RC in comparison with DVH. Results There were no significant differences in baseline data and RC incidence between the two groups (all P>0.05). All evaluation indicators were significantly different between DSH and DVH (all P<0.05). The predictive value of S45 and V45 for the incidence of grade-I, -II, and -III RC was low (all P<0.05). The predictive value of S50 and V50 for the incidence of grade-I, -II, and -III RC was moderate (all P<0.05). S55−S57 and V55−V57 showed high value for predicting the incidence of grade-I, -II, and -III RC (all P<0.05). Conclusion DSH shows basically the same predictive value for the incidence of RC caused by IGRT in cervical cancer as DVH, which is expected to become a new tool for evaluating radiotherapy plans.

In response to the challenge of sintering silicon carbide ceramic into complex part, which limits it application in certain mechanical seal,a design was developed that integrates silicon carbide ring with metal component to create a mechanical sealed with intricate structure.Type tests and durability tests were designed and conducted in the context of urine processor assembly for space stations, the test results indicate that the static liquid leakage rate of mosaic type mechanical seal did not exceed 0.88 mL/h under a pressure differential of 50 kPa,and the dynamic liquid leakage rate did not exceed 0.47 mL/h at a rotational speed of 400 r/min.The vibration and impact qualification tests of dynamic environment were conducted under the conditions of mechanical seals installed. There was no change in sealing performance observed before and after the tests.Following that,a 4 500-hour durability test was performed in pretreated urine. The results showed good sealing performance. After the test, the mechanical seals were disassembled and checked.the installation and appearance of ceramic rings were found to be in good condition, with no visible corrosion or wear. The results suggest that this integrated structure meets the requirements for complex mechanical structures and can operate stably over extended periods under acidic and corrosive liquid conditions.

When conducting long-term experimental verification of urine regeneration using ground equipment of manned space water regeneration system,it was found that the ion exchange removal ability of the water regeneration system is also affected when the pre-treatment agent changes. Therefore, the influence behavior and mechanism of pre-treatment agent changes on the ion exchange removal capacity of water regeneration systems were studied through small sample experiments, water quality composition analysis, and other means. The results showed that with the increase of CrO3 content in the pre-treatment agent, the organic acid content in distilled water increased, leading to an increase in the conductivity,an increase in the organic carbon content, and a decrease in pH value of distilled water.Organic acids have low degree of dissociation in water, and their selectivity coefficients are low when exchanging with strong alkaline anion exchange resins. This results in a slow ion exchange rate of the acid ion.As the organic acid content in distilled water increases, the ion exchange band of acid ion widens and shifts backwards, causing resin penetration, resulting in a decrease in the ion exchange removal ability of the water regeneration system.
