Objectives: ：This study aimed to investigate the mediating effect of post-traumatic stress symptoms on the relationship between affective temperaments and depression in psychiatric patients. Methods: ：A total of 200 psychiatric outpatients and inpatients completed TEMPS-A short version (Temperament Evaluation of the Memphis, Pisa, and San Diego Autoquestionnaire), the Korean-Beck Depression Inventory-II, and the PTSD Checklist for DSM-5. Data analysis was conducted using regression analyses and bootstrap sampling. Results: ：The results indicated that post-traumatic stress symptoms mediated the relationship between cyclothymic, depressive, and anxious temperaments with depression. Conclusions ：Cyclothymic, depressive, and anxious temperaments influence depression through post-trau-matic stress symptoms. This suggests the importance of considering subtypes of affective temperament and intervening in post-traumatic stress symptoms in order to prevent depression in psychiatric patients.

Objectives: . The supine sleep position and the rapid eye movement (REM) stage are widely recognized to exacerbate the severity of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). Position-dependent OSA is generally characterized by an apnea-hypopnea index (AHI) that is at least twice as high in the supine position compared to other sleep positions. However, this condition can be misdiagnosed if a particular sleep stage—REM or non-REM (NREM)—predominates in a specific position. We explored the impact of the sleep stage on positional dependency in OSA. Methods: . Polysomnographic data were retrospectively analyzed from 111 patients with OSA aged 18 years or older, all of whom had an AHI exceeding five events per hour and slept in both supine and non-supine positions for at least 5% of the total sleep time. The overall ratio of non-supine AHI to supine AHI (NS/S-AHI ratio) was compared between total, REM, and NREM sleep. Additionally, a weighted NS/S-AHI ratio, reflecting the proportion of time spent in each sleep stage, was calculated and compared to the original ratio. Results: . The mean NS/S-AHI ratio was consistent between the entire sleep period and the specific sleep stages. However, the NS/S-AHI ratios for individual patients displayed poor agreement between total sleep and the specific stages. Additionally, the weighted NS/S-AHI ratio displayed poor agreement with the original NS/S-AHI ratio, primarily due to discrepancies in patients with mild to moderate OSA. Conclusion . The weighted NS/S-AHI ratio may help precisely assess positional dependency.

Purpose: This study aimed to evaluate the effects of health interventions using virtual reality (VR) on improving knowledge, attitudes, and skills; and inducing behavioral change among adolescents. Methods: This study is a systematic review and meta-analysis following PRISMA guidelines. We searched Cochrane, MEDLINE, Embase, CINAHL, Scopus, Web of Science, and Korean databases between database inception and April 10, 2021. Based on heterogeneity, a random- or fixed-effects model was used, as appropriate, to calculate effect sizes in terms of the standardized mean difference (SMD) and odds ratio (OR). Studies were selected if they verified the effects of health education using VR on adolescents; there was an appropriate control group; and if the effects of education were reported in terms of changes in knowledge, attitudes, skills, or behaviors. Results: This analysis included six studies (n = 1,086). The intervention groups showed greater responses in knowledge and attitudes (SMD = 0.57, 95% confidence interval (CI) [0.12 to 1.02]), skills related to health behavior (SMD = -0.45, 95% CI [-0.71 to -0.19]), and behavioral change after 12 months (OR = 2.36, 95% CI [1.03 to 5.41]). Conclusion The results confirm the effectiveness of health interventions using virtual reality (VR). Although the analysis include a small number of studies, a case can be made for health interventions using VR to be utilized as educational methods and strategies to prevent risky behaviors among adolescents.

Objectives: ：This study aimed to examine the mediating effect of sleep quality and interpretation bias for ambiguity in the relationship between hopelessness and suicidal ideation in psychiatric patients. Methods: ：A total of 231 psychiatric outpatients and inpatients completed the Beck Hopelessness Scale, Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, Ambiguous/Unambiguous Situations Diary-Extended Version, and Ultra-Short Suicidal Ideation Scale. Data analysis was conducted using regression analyses and bootstrap sampling. Results: ：The results of this study showed that hopelessness had a direct effect on suicidal ideation, and that sleep quality and interpretation bias for ambiguity mediated the association between hopelessness and suicidal ideation. Moreover, there was a significant double mediating effect of sleep quality and interpretation bias for am-biguity on the relationship between hopelessness and suicidal ideation. Conclusions ：These results suggest that it is important to consider both sleep quality and interpretation bias for ambiguity to prevent hopelessness from leading to suicidal idea. These results suggest that considering both sleep quality and interpretation bias for ambiguity may be important in preventing hopelessness from leading to suicidal ideation.

Objectives: ：The purpose of this study was to analyze the factors that influencing mental health literacy. Methods: ：We obtained data on 2016 general population from the Korean Mental Health Literacy Survey (2021) conducted by Ministry of Health and Welfare. Multiple regression analysis was used to evaluate the associations between sociodemographic characteristics and the score of questionnaire items in Korean Mental Health Literacy Survey. Results: ：Among the factors, female (p<0.001), higher age (p=0.005), higher income level (p<0.001) were significantly correlated with higher score of questionnaire items. Awareness of mental health center & commu-nity addiction management center (p=0.002), awareness of mental health hotline service (p<0.001) were also significantly associated with higher response score. Conclusions ：The factors affecting mental health literacy could be considered when providing community mental health services.

Background and Objectives: Pilomatricoma is a frequently diagnosed skin lesion of the head and neck that may often be misdiagnosed as other skin lesions. This study evaluated whether ultrasonography (USG) or computed tomography (CT) is the most helpful imaging modality for the accurate preoperative diagnosis of pilomatricoma in head and neck regions of children and adolescents.Subjects and Method A retrospective review was conducted for 59 patients with pilomatricoma under the age of 19 years. All cases were pathologically confirmed with pilomatricoma in the head or neck. Results: Preoperative imaging examinations were performed with USG in six cases and with CT in nine cases. The accuracy of preoperative diagnosis was compared between three groups: 1) with clinical findings only, 2) with USG, and 3) with CT. The correct preoperative diagnosis was made in 18 (30.5%) of the total of 59 cases. Using only clinical findings, 10 (22.7%) out of 44 patients were diagnosed as pilomatricoma. With the addition of USG, pilomatricoma was diagnosed in 1 (16.7%) out of six cases, whereas with the addition of CT, 7 (77.8%) out of 9 cases (77.8%) were diagnosed correctly. Preoperative diagnosis of pilomatricoma with CT imaging was more accurate than clinical findings only (vs. CT; odds ratio [OR]=11.900, 95% confidence interval [CI] 2.126-66.615; p=0.001) or USG (vs. CT; OR=17.500, 95% CI 1.223-250.357; p=0.020). Conclusion In the preoperative diagnosis of pilomatricoma, imaging modalities such as CT and USG are helpful, with CT offering higher diagnostic accuracy and USG procedural benefits in younger children.

Chyle leakage from the neck, which usually occurs after iatrogenic injury of the thoracic or lymphatic duct, is an uncommon complication of head and neck surgeries, which include neck dissection or thyroidectomy. A small amount of chyle leakage can be treated with conservative approaches, such as nutritional limitation, somatostatin analogues, and wound compression. However, massive or uncontrolled chyle leakage requires surgical exploration of the wound and thoracic duct ligation via the chest or transabdominal thoracic duct embolization can be applied. Here, we report a case of intractable massive chyle leakage in a 78-year-old male after a left neck level V lymph node biopsy, which was not controlled after conservative management and explorative surgery. Various treatment approaches were attempted and successful management of chyle leakage was ultimately achieved by thoracic duct embolization.

Weaimed to identify factors that influence protective behaviors against endocrine disruptors among femalecollege students in South Korea. Methods: Using a cross-sectional survey design, we recruited 199 female college students. A selfadministeredquestionnaire was used, and data were collected at the site. Results: A healthy lifestyle, information utilization, receiving peer advice on avoiding exposure toendocrine disruptors, and a history of environmental illnesses were found to be significant factors,explaining 42.0% of the variance in protective behaviors against endocrine disruptors. Conclusion Health consequences of environmental hazards and importance of maintaining a healthylifestyle need to be emphasized in young women's healthcare. Health professionals should advocate forand empower women to protect themselves against endocrine disruptors.

Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the effects of exposure to endocrine disruptors, burnout, and social support from peers on premenstrual syndrome (PMS) in nurses. Methods: This descriptive correlational study was conducted among 122 nurses under the age of 49 working at a university hospital. The participants answered self-report questionnaires. The data were analyzed using the t-test, analysis of variance, Pearson or Spearman correlation coefficients, and hierarchical multiple regression in IBM SPSS version 23.0. Results: The mean age of the nurses was 28.9 years. Of these nurses, 49.2% were working in a general ward, 24.6% in the intensive care unit, 14.8% in the emergency room, and 11.4% in an outpatient department. The explanatory power of the model was 38.3%, and it was statistically significant (F=11.74, p≤.001). Exposure to endocrine disruptors (β=0.32, p<.001) was the most powerful variable affecting PMS, followed by burnout (β=0.27, p=.001), working in the intensive care unit or emergency room (β=0.22, p=.003), family history of PMS (β=0.19, p=.009), and support from coworkers (β=–0.15, p=.043). Conclusion Based on these findings, it is necessary to develop an intervention program to reduce the symptoms of PMS. Additionally, further studies are needed to develop and evaluate measures to minimize exposure to endocrine disruptors and burnout in order to alleviate PMS among nurses.
