Objective:To analyze the correlation between 24-hour urinary sodium excretion and early renal function impairment in patients with primary hypertension. Methods:This cross-sectional study included patients with primary hypertension who were admitted to the Department of Cardiology of the Chinese People′s Liberation Army General Hospital between January 2021 and October 2024. Patients were divided into low-sodium, medium-sodium, and high-sodium groups based on their 24-hour urinary sodium excretion. General clinical data were collected using the electronic medical record system. Urinary sodium, protein, and microalbumin excretion were analyzed from 24-hour urine samples. Spearman correlation analysis was used to explore the relationship between 24-hour urinary sodium excretion and urinary microalbumin excretion. A multiple linear regression model was used to further assess the independent association between these variables. Subgroup analyses were conducted based on age were performed to determine whether age influenced the relationship between urinary sodium excretion and renal function impairment. Results:A total of 1 065 patients with primary hypertension were included, with a mean age of (55.26±14.06) years, including 568(53.33%) males. The low-sodium, medium-sodium, and high-sodium groups included 223, 579, and 263 patients, respectively. The 24-hour urinary microalbumin excretion in the high-sodium group was significantly higher than in the medium-sodium and low-sodium groups, and this trend remained consistent across different age groups (all P<0.05). Spearman correlation analysis showed a positive correlation between 24-hour urinary sodium excretion and urinary microalbumin excretion ( r=0.220, P<0.001), and this relationship was observed in all age groups (all P<0.05). Multiple linear regression analysis confirmed an independent association between 24-hour urinary sodium excretion and urinary microalbumin excretion (all P<0.001), which persisted across different age groups (all P<0.05). Conclusion:In patients with primary hypertension, 24-hour urinary sodium excretion is closely associated with microalbumin excretion, suggesting a potential link to early renal function impairment.

[Objective] To establish a cryopreservation protocol for small-volume (≤1 mL) red blood cells (RBCs) and to evaluate the reactivity and stability of blood group antigens after cryopreservation, so as to explore its potential application in immunohematology reference laboratories. [Methods] Small-volume RBCs were cryopreserved for 120 days, followed by thawing and deglycerolization to restore the RBC components. The quality of the RBCs was assessed. Serum antibodies were serially diluted and reacted with RBCs before and after cryopreservation, and agglutination scores were recorded to quantitatively evaluate the reactivity and stability of blood group antigens such as Rh, Duffy, Lewis, Kidd, M, and H. Flow cytometry was used to analyze the percentage and mean fluorescence intensity of ABO antigen expression on RBCs before and after cryopreservation to assess the usability of cryopreserved RBCs in flow immunophenotyping and blood group subtype studies. [Results] The hemolysis rate of thawed and deglycerolized RBCs was (0.27±0.10)%, with a supernatant free hemoglobin level of (0.52±0.14) g/L, and the RBC recovery rate was (69.12±7.91)%. The direct antiglobulin test (DAT) was negative for all thawed RBCs. There was no difference in the reactivity of blood group antigens before and after cryopreservation, and no difference in the percentage and mean fluorescence intensity of A and B antigen expression on RBCs before and after cryopreservation. [Conclusion] The small-volume RBC cryopreservation protocol can be applied to immunohematology analysis in reference laboratories and is expected to be widely used in blood group identification, antibody screening, identification, and blood group-related research.

Objective :
To analyze the distribution characteristics of free water ( FW) and FW-corrected fractional anisotropy (FAt) in the white matter of the brain in patients with anti-N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor ( NMDAR) encephalitis and to explore their correlation with cognitive function.
Methods :
A total of 38 patients with anti- NMDAR encephalitis and 30 controls were recruited from three hospitals in Hefei.Diffusion tensor imaging data and neuropsychological assessment results were collected.Tract-Based Spatial Statistics was applied to compare group differences in FW and FAt across the whole brain white matter.Correlation analyses were further performed to ex- amine the relationships between FW/ FAt metrics and cognitive function.
Results :
Compared to the control group, patients with anti-NMDAR encephalitis showed significantly lower scores on the montreal cognitive assessment,im- mediate recall, delayed recall, and the verbal fluency test (all P<0. 05) ,as well as significantly longer comple- tion times for color naming and word reading tasks in the stroop color word test (all P<0. 05) .Diffusion tensor im- aging analysis revealed significantly elevated FW and reduced FAt in widespread white matter regions in the patient group (all P<0. 000 1) .Further correlation analysis showed that increased FW was positively associated with the completion time of the color-switching condition in the color digital trail making test (P = 0. 044 ) and with the difference between color-switching and number sequencing conditions ( P = 0. 016 ) ,while negatively correlated with semantic fluency scores (P = 0. 002) .Additionally,FAt was positively associated with delayed recall perform- ance (P = 0. 012) ,and negatively correlated with the completion times for color naming (P = 0. 018 ) and word reading (P = 0. 046) tasks in the SCWT.
Conclusion
Patients with anti-NMDAR encephalitis exhibit significantly elevated FW and significantly reduced FAt in white matter tracts, both of which are closely linked to cognitive im- pairment.

This study was a single-center retrospective study, to investigate the correlation between the relative level of miR-200a in exfoliated cells of peritoneal dialysis (PD) effluent and clinical indicators of peritoneal function in PD patients. Clinical data of PD patients who underwent treatment in the Department of Nephrology, the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University, from January 2024 to December 2024 were collected, and the relative level of miR-200a in exfoliated cells of PD effluent was assessed. Patients were divided into three groups according to dialysis duration (Group A:≤1 year; Group B:>1 to <5 years; Group C:≥5 years), and differences in clinical data among the groups were compared. The correlation between the relative level of miR-200a and serum albumin, serum calcium, serum phosphorus, serum creatinine, hemoglobin, the neutrophil/high-density lipoprotein cholesterol ratio, the monocyte/high-density lipoprotein cholesterol ratio, the lymphocyte/high-density lipoprotein cholesterol ratio, and 24-hour urine volume in PD patients was analyzed. The results showed that there were no statistically significant differences among the three groups in gender, age, creatinine clearance rate, or Kt/V (all P>0.05). However, statistically significant differences were found among the three groups in peritoneal transport type ( χ2=13.518, P=0.001) and ultrafiltration volume ( H=6.905, P=0.032). Based on the 4-hour PD effluent creatinine/blood creatinine in the peritoneal equilibration test, patients were divided into the low transporter/low average transporter group (L group) and the high transporter/high average transporter group (H group). A statistically significant difference in the relative level of miR-200a was observed between the two groups [11.70 (1.09, 20.49) vs. 0.73 (0.46, 1.98), t=4.545, P<0.001]. The relative level of miR-200a was positively correlated with ultrafiltration volume and 24-hour urine output ( r=0.328, P=0.030; r=0.516, P<0.001), and negatively correlated with dialysis vintage ( r=-0.496, P<0.001). These results indicate that miR-200a level in PD effluent may, to some extent, reflect patients' peritoneal membrane function.

Objective To optimize the dose distribution of postoperative brachytherapy for linear keloids, and to investigate the effects of the number of radiation sources n,source-to-skin distance d,and source spacing a on dose distribution, thereby providing a reasonable radiation source arrangement scheme for radiotherapy in narrow and elongated wound areas. Methods A one-dimensional idealized model was established.Based on the inverse-square law, dose distributions were calculated under combinations of differentn(4,6,8,10)and d(from 0.3 to 2.0 cm).The proportions of dose-effective areas(90%-110%of the prescribed dose)and penumbra areas(20%-80%of the prescribed dose)were analyzed to evaluate the rationality of dose distribution. Results When d/a slightly exceeded 0.5,the proportion of the effective area reached its peak, and the proportion of the penumbra area was relatively low.An excessively small d/a led to cold spots in the irradiated area, while an excessively large d/a expanded the penumbra area.Increasing n significantly reduced the penumbra range and improved dose homogeneity. Conclusion The dose distribution is most reasonable when d/a is slightly greater than 0.5,and a multi-source arrangement(n≥6)is preferred to enhance dose homogeneity. This study provides guidance for parameter optimization in brachytherapy for keloids.

Objective:By using cognitive interviews, the interviewees' cognition and understanding of the inflammatory bowel disease(IBD) self-efficacy scale for adolescents and young adults (IBDSES-A) were evaluated, and the semantic content of IBDSES-A,which was initially translated into Chinese, was tested and revised. Methods:Using purposive sampling,15 IBD patients aged 12-18 were selected from Beijing Children's Hospital,Capital Medical University, between January and February 2025,stratified by age group and disease type. Two rounds of cognitive interviews were conducted.Feedback and suggestions from interviewees were analyzed using a question appraisal system for coding and integration.Based on expert panel discussions, ambiguous items were revised to finalize the Chinese version of the IBDSES-A.Results:In the first round,10 interviewees were interviewed, followed by 5 interviewees in the second round. There were no statistically significant differences ( P>0.05) between the interviewees of two rounds in terms of age, gender, and education level.During the first round of interview, interviewees expressed comprehension difficulties with 76.9% (10/13) of the items.Coding analysis revealed that the primary issue was "clarification",as unclear wording made it difficult for interviewees to fully grasp the intended meaning of certain items.Based on these findings, the expert panel revised 10 of the 13 items in the IBDSES-A.The second round of cognitive interview showed that the interviewees generally understood the revised items, achieving linguistic and semantic consistency with the original scale. Conclusion:The application of cognitive interviews in the translation process of the IBDSES-A helps reduce comprehension biases caused by inappropriate wording, ensuring that the localized version of the scale is more accessible and understandable to the target population.
