Purpose:
Lung cancer is frequently observed as a second primary malignancy following gastric cancer, yet the genetic causality between them remains uncertain. This study aims to evaluate the causal relationship between gastric and lung cancers using Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis.
Materials and Methods:
Single nucleotide polymorphisms associated with gastric and lung cancers were selected from genome-wide association study in East Asian and European populations as instrumental variables. The causal effects between gastric and lung cancers were evaluated using univariable and multivariable MR analysis, with the inverse variance weighted (IVW) method serving as the primary criterion. Heterogeneity and sensitivity analyses were performed to ensure the robustness of the findings.
Results:
Univariable MR analysis demonstrated that genetic susceptibility to gastric cancer in the European population was significantly associated with an increased risk of lung cancer (IVW: odds ratio [OR], 1.285; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.072 to 1.541; p=6.83E-03), which was consistently validated in the East Asian population (IVW: OR, 1.356; 95% CI, 1.114 to 1.651; p=2.40E-03). Multivariable MR analysis further indicated that the significant positive causal relationship between gastric cancer and lung cancer persisted in both populations after adjusting for confounding factors (all p < 0.05). Conversely, no significant causal relationship was observed for the risk of developing gastric cancer following the diagnosis of lung cancer in either population (p > 0.05).
Conclusion
This study confirms that genetic susceptibility to gastric cancer increases the risk of lung cancer. This finding provides a theoretical basis for exploring the underlying biological mechanisms and suggests that enhancing lung cancer screening in patients with gastric cancer may be necessary to improve patient prognosis.

Objective To study the effects of restructuring tissue inhibitor of matrix metatloproteinase-3 (rhTIMP-3) in combination with cisplatin (DDP) on the growth and apoptosis of A549 lung cancer cell line. Methods We made individual and combined use of different concentrations of rhTIMP-3 and DDP on A549 cells.Methyl thiazoyl terazolium (MTT) colorimetry was used to analyze cell growth inhibition, and flow cytometry technique was used to determine the cell cycle distribution and apoptosis rate. Results rhTIMP-3 and DDP both could inhibit the proliferation of A549 cells.rhTIMP-3 exerted its effect in the time-and concentration-dependent manners while DDP did so in the concentration-dependent manner;both induced the apoptosis of A549 cells.rhTIMP-3 could make the cells stay in S and G2/M phases, and DDP made the cells stay in S phase. The combination of them obviously strengthened the inhibition of A549 cell growth, and had obvious synergy in inducing apoptosis. Conclusion Both rhTIMP-3 and DDP can inhibit the proliferation of A549 cells and induce their apoptosis. The combined use of them not only can increase the inhibition of cell growth but also has synergy in inducing cell apoptosis.

OBJECTIVETo explore the effect of microneedle combined with Lauromacrogol on skin capillary network.
METHODS24 male Leghone (1.5-2.0 kg in weight) were randomly divided into three groups as group A (microneedle combined with Lauromacrogol), B (microneedle combined with physiological saline) , and C(control). The cockscombs were treated. The specimens were taken on the 7th, 14th, 21th , and 28th day postoperatively. HE staining, immunohistochemical staining and special staining were performed for study of the number of capillary and collagen I/III , as well as elastic fibers.
RESULTSThe color of cockscombs in group A became lightening after treatment. The number of capillary decreased as showing by HE staining. The collagen I and III in group B was significantly different from that in group A and C (P < 0.05). Special staining showed proliferation of elastic fibers in group B.
CONCLUSIONSIt indicates that microneedle combined with Lauromacrogol could effectively reduce the capillary in cockscomb without any tissue fibrosis. Microneedle can stimulate the proliferation of elastic fiber, so as to improve the skin ageing process.

4.Efficay of skin roller pin combined with medication on cutaneous capillary hemangioma: an experimental study
Chinese Journal of Medical Aesthetics and Cosmetology 2014;20(4):291-294
Objective To investigate the role of the skin needle combined with different drugs in the treatment of capillary hemangioma, providing a theoretical basis for clinical treatment. Methods 50 Lai Henry chickens were randomly divided into five groups, each group of 10.Taking the comb as an animal model of capillary hemangioma of the skin,we used skin needle combined with different drugs onto the comb:Group A:bleomycin,B:triamcinolone acetonide,C:triamcinolone acetonide combined with bleomycin,D:saline group, and E.normal comb as a blank control group. We observed the changes of the comb and pathological changes, the number of capillaries under microscope in 1 d,7 d,14 d,21 d,and 28 d respectively. Results The color of the comb in each group gradually became lighter in different degrees, the number of capillaries reduced, the most significantly in group C,and most less change in group D.Conclusions Tumbling of the skin needle and drugs can effectively reduce the number of capillaries alone, and both effects can be cumulative. The best efficacy has been achieved with skin needle combined with bleomycin.
