Recent studies have revealed a significant association between Porphyromonas gingivalis(P.gingivalis)infection and poor prognosis in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(ESCC).Although cer-tain circular RNAs(circRNA)have been shown to suppress ESCC tumorigenesis and progression, their regulatory mechanisms in P.gingivalis infection-associated ESCC remain elusive. In this study,RT-qPCR analysis demonstrated that P.gingivalis infection downregulated hsa_circ_0057552 expression in ESCC cells and tissues in a time-and dose-dependent manner.Actinomycin D assays further confirmed that P.gingivalis infection reduced the RNA stability of hsa_circ_0057552 in ESCC cells(P<0.05).Functional assays in vitro and a subcutaneous tumor xenograft model in vivo revealed that hsa_circ_0057552 overexpression significantly inhibited ESCC cell proliferation, migration, invasion, and tumor growth(P<0.05).Additionally,PCR array screening combined with RT-qPCR and Western blotting in-dicated that P.gingivalis infection markedly upregulated human antigen R(HuR)expression at both RNA and protein levels(P<0.05).Mechanistic investigations demonstrated that HuR knockdown signifi-cantly increased hsa_circ_0057552 expression(P<0.01),whereas hsa_circ_0057552 overexpression had no regulatory effect on HuR.Finally,si-HuR treatment reversed the inhibitory effect of P.gingivalis on hsa_circ_0057552 transcription. This study demonstrated that P.gingivalis may promote the progression of ESCC through a novel mechanism involving the regulation of HuR/hsa_circ_0057552,thereby identif-ying a novel therapeutic target and molecular marker for P.gingivalis-associated ESCC.

In traditional Chinese medicine, jaundice is a liver and gallbladder disorder, primarily characterized by yellowing of the eyes, skin, and urine, with ocular yellowing being the most prominent feature. The understanding of jaundice pathogenesis in traditional Chinese medicine can be traced back to the Inner Canon of Huangdi.Despite the continuous development and improvement of successive generations of medical practitioners and a rich theoretical understanding of its pathogenesis being formed by the end of the Qing Dynasty,no unified view exists on whether the core pathological factor was dampness or blood stasis, nor on whether the primary disease location lay in the spleen and stomach or the liver and gallbladder. This article re-examines historical perspectives on jaundice pathogenesis within the context of traditional Chinese medicine theory, focusing on two key issues:pathological factors and the location of Zang and Fu.By integrating modern research approaches based on compound pathogenesis theory, and considering pathological factors, disease location according to Zang and Fu,and disease progression,a theoretical model is reconstructed, centered on the intermingling of dampness and blood stasis and integration of liver and spleen.Additionally, the insights and therapeutic strategies of multiple renowned clinical hepatology experts are incorporated to enrich the theoretical framework for jaundice treatment in traditional Chinese medicine and to enhance clinical efficacy.

Objective To explore the potential of CS-AI technique in accelerating cranial three-dimensional double inversion recovery(3D DIR)sequence imaging. Methods Twenty-six healthy volunteers were prospectively recruited for brain sagittal 3D DIR sequence scanning. The 3D DIR sequences were accelerated with four different acceleration factor(AF)(4,6,8,10)and reconstructed using the traditional compressed sensing(CS)algorithm and a new CS-AI algorithm.Subjective image quality was assessed by two observers using a 5-point Likert scale. Objective image quality was evaluated by calculating contrast(CN)and contrast-to-noise ratio(CNR).Firstly, using CS 4 as the standard, the optimal CS AF was derived after comparing the CN,CNR and subjective scores of CS 4 with those of CS 6,8 and 10 images in a comprehensive judgement, and then further comparing the optimal CS AF with images of CS-AI with different AF to validate the efficacy of the CS-AI,and to select the final optimal CS-AI AF.Results The comparison results between CS 4 and different CS AF indicated that CS 6 was selected as the optimal AF for CS.In further comparisons between CS and different CS-AI AF,the CS-AI technique outperformed the CS technique overall.CS-AI 8 was the maximum applicable AF.Conclusion The CS-AI is overall even better in terms of image quality with higher acceleration potential than the CS.The CS-AI 8 serves as the optimal AF and reduces scanning times by up to 50%while maintaining image quality.
