ObjectiveTo investigate the protective effect and mechanism of Wendan Ningxin granules （WNG） on susceptibility to atrial fibrillation （AF） in mice with inflammatory injury. Methods100 C57BL/6 mice were divided into a blank control group， a model group， a low-dose WNG group （2.34 g·kg^-1·d^-1）， a high-dose WNG group （4.68 g·kg^-1·d^-1）， and an amiodarone positive control group （0.091 g·kg^-1·d^-1）， with 20 mice in each group. Except for the blank control group， mice in other groups received intraperitoneal injections of lipopolysaccharide （LPS） to establish an inflammatory injury model. Treatment groups received continuous intragastric administration of their respective interventions for four weeks. During the fourth week， the treatment groups received LPS injections concurrently with their treatments. The blank control and model groups received distilled water （10 mL·kg^-1·d^-1） by gavage， with a gavage volume of 10 mL·kg^-1 for all groups， once daily. Hematoxylin-eosin （HE） staining and Sirius red staining were used to observe atrial tissue morphology and fibrosis degree. Immunohistochemistry was used to assess the expression of α-smooth muscle actin （α-SMA） in mouse atrial tissue. Electrophysiological detection was performed using a multi-channel electrophysiology mapping system to measure AF inducibility， AF duration， and atrial effective refractory period （AERP）. High-resolution optical mapping was used to measure action potential duration （APD） dispersion， conduction heterogeneity index， and calcium transient （CaT） dispersion. Real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction （Real-time PCR） was used to detect mRNA expression of proteins related to diastolic calcium leakage in mouse atria： Ca²⁺/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase Ⅱ（CaMKⅡ）， ryanodine receptor 2（RyR2）， sarco/endoplasmic reticulum Ca²⁺-ATPase （SERCA）， and sodium-calcium exchanger （NCX）. Western blot analysis was performed to detect the expression of CaMKII， RyR2， SERCA， and NCX proteins in myocardial tissue from each group. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay （ELISA） was used to measure serum levels of inflammatory factors interleukin-1β （IL-1β） and tumor necrosis factor-α （TNF-α）. ResultsPathological staining results showed that compared with the blank control group， the model group exhibited disrupted atrial tissue structure， inflammatory cell infiltration， atrial fibrosis， and diffuse infiltration of numerous brown α-SMA positive cells in the atrial interstitium （P<0.01）. AF could be induced by electrical stimulation with a longer duration. AERP was shortened， while APD dispersion， conduction heterogeneity index， and CaT dispersion were increased （P<0.01）. The expression of proteins associated with diastolic calcium leakage， including CaMKⅡ， RyR2， and NCX1， showed elevated mRNA and protein levels， whereas SERCA2a mRNA and protein expression decreased （P<0.05）. Serum levels of inflammatory factors IL-1β and TNF-α were elevated （P<0.01）. Compared with the model group， intervention with WNG alleviated cardiac structural damage， reduced inflammatory cell infiltration， improved atrial fibrosis， and reduced the diffuse infiltration of α-SMA positive cells （P<0.01）. AF inducibility and AF duration upon electrical stimulation were significantly reduced （P<0.05）， AERP was prolonged （P<0.05）， mRNA and protein expression of CaMKⅡ， RyR2， and NCX1-proteins associated with diastolic calcium leakage-were reduced， whilst mRNA and protein expression of SERCA2a increased （P<0.05）， and serum levels of IL-1β and TNF-α were decreased （P<0.01）. ConclusionBoth low‑ and high‑dose WNG can effectively reduce susceptibility to inflammation-related AF. The mechanism by which WNG reduce AF susceptibility may be related to regulating proteins involved in sarcoplasmic reticulum diastolic calcium leak， thereby improving cardiac electrical remodeling， and alleviating inflammation-induced myocardial fibrosis， thus improving cardiac structural remodeling.

ObjectiveTo investigate the therapeutic effects of modified Baoyuantang combined with Linggui Zhugantang on post-myocardial infarction heart failure in rats and its influence on NOD-like receptor pyrin domain-containing protein 3 （NLRP3）/gasdermin D （GSDMD）-mediated pyroptosis. MethodsSixty male SD rats were randomized into sham， model， low-， medium-， and high-dose （2.52， 5.04， 10.08 g·kg^-1， respectively） modified Baoyuantang combined with Linggui Zhugantang， and sacubitril/valsartan sodium （0.021 g·kg^-1） groups， with 10 rats in each group. Except the sham group， the other groups underwent left anterior descending coronary artery ligation for the modeling of myocardial infarction. The treatment groups were administrated with corresponding drugs by gavage， and the sham and model groups received an equal volume of normal saline. Administration began on the first day after successful modeling， once daily， for 4 weeks. Echocardiography was used to measure left ventricular ejection fraction （LVEF）， left ventricular fractional shortening （LVFS）， left ventricular end-diastolic and end-systolic diameters （LVIDd and LVIDs）， left ventricular posterior wall thicknesses at end-diastole and end-systole （LVPWd， LVPWs）， and left ventricular volumes at end-diastole and end-systole （LV Vold and LV Vols）. Cardiac mass index and heart weight-to-tibia length ratio were calculated. Hematoxylin-eosin （HE） staining and Sirius Red staining were performed to observe myocardial morphology and collagen deposition. Immunohistochemistry was employed to detect the expression of type I collagen （Collagen Ⅰ）， NLRP3， GSDMD， and interleukin-1β （IL-1β）. Transmission electron microscopy was used to observe the mitochondrial ultrastructure. Tetramethylrhodamine methyl ester （TMRM） staining was conducted to assess mitochondrial membrane potential （MMP） in cardiomyocytes. Real-time PCR was used to quantify the mRNA levels of NLRP3， cysteinyl aspartate-specific proteinase-1 （Caspase-1）， IL-1β， GSDMD， and interleukin-18 （IL-18） in the myocardial tissue. Western blotting was employed to determine the protein levels of NLRP3， Caspase-1， GSDMD， IL-1β， IL-18， nuclear factor kappa-B （NF-κB） p50， and NF-κB p65 in the myocardial tissue. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay （ELISA） was adopted to measure the serum levels of tumor necrosis factor-α （TNF-α）， IL-1β， and IL-6. ResultsCompared with the sham group， the model group showed increased LVIDd， LVIDs， LV Vold， LV Vols， cardiac mass index， and heart weight-to-tibia length ratio （P<0.05）， decreased LVPWs， LVEF， LVFS， and MMP （P<0.05）， evident myocardial inflammation， fibrosis， and mitochondrial damage， upregulated expression of NLRP3， Caspase-1， GSDMD， IL-1β， IL-18， NF-κB p50， and NF-κB p65， and elevated serum levels of TNF-α， IL-1β， and IL-6 （P<0.05）. Compared with the model group， modified Baoyuantang combined with Linggui Zhugantang reduced the LVIDd， LVIDs， LV Vols， cardiac mass index， and heart weight-to-tibia length ratio （P<0.05）， increased the LVPWs， LVEF， LVFS， and MMP （P<0.05）， alleviated myocardial inflammation and fibrosis， improved the mitochondrial structure and function， downregulated the expression of NLRP3， Caspase-1， GSDMD， IL-1β， IL-18， NF-κB p50， and NF-κB p65 （P<0.05）， and reduced the serum levels of TNF-α， IL-1β， and IL-6 （P<0.05）. ConclusionModified Baoyuantang combined with Linggui Zhugantang can ameliorate post-myocardial infarction ventricular remodeling and improve the cardiac function by reducing mitochondrial damage and inhibiting NLRP3/GSDMD-mediated pyroptosis.

Objective To explore the effect of the horticultural therapy in the elderly with mild cognitive impairment in elderly care institutions.Methods A convenient cluster sampling method was used.The study was conducted among the elderly with mild cognitive impairment in 2 nursing homes with 5A-level in Guangzhou,from March to September 2024.Using a lottery method,subjects from 2 nursing areas across 2 elderly care institutions were allocated to an experimental group,with the other 2 nursing areas serving as a control group,each group comprising 55 cases.The experimental group participated in horticultural therapy on the basis of control group interventions,while the control group was given routine care and daily leisure activities.The cognitive function,basic psychological needs and quality of life were compared between the 2 groups after the intervention.Results Eventually,37 cases in the experimental group and 38 cases in the control group completed the study.After the intervention,the cognitive function,basic psychological needs and quality of life in the experimental group were all better than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05).Conclusion The horticultural therapy program can delay the progression of cognitive decline in the elderly with mild cognitive impairment in nursing homes,meet their basic psychological needs and improve their quality of life.

Objective:To explore the medication law for threatened irritability in ancient gynecological monographs based on data mining.Methods:Based on Zhong Hua Yi Dian (5th edition), Chinese Medicine Resource Network and the paper version of ancient books, the representative gynecological monographs from the pre-Qin to the Qing Dynasty were selected to retrieve the prescriptions for the treatment of fetal irritability and establish a database. Excel 2019, IBM SPSS Modeler 18.0 and IBM SPSS Statistics 26.0 software were used to perform frequency statistics, association rule analysis and clustering analysis on the data of Chinese materia medica, analyze the core drug groups, and explore the medication laws. Results:A total of 151 prescriptions were included, including 7 kinds of TCM syndrome types, involving 111 kinds of Chinese materia medica. The most commonly used Chinese materia medica were Angelicae Sinensis Radix, Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, Chuanxiong Rhizoma, and Paeoniae Radix Alba, etc. The efficacy categories were mainly tonic, heat-clearing, blood-activating and stasis-resolving; the medicinal properties were mainly warm and neutral; the tastes were mainly sweet and pungent; the main meridians were spleen, lung, liver and kidney meridians. 17 commonly used TCM combinations were obtained by association rule analysis, and five core TCM combinations were obtained by clustering analysis.Conclusions:In the treatment of threatened irritability, ancient doctors used the method of tonifying kidney and invigorating spleen, tonifying qi and nourishing blood, clearing heat and preventing miscarriage flexibly. The core drugs were mainly Angelicae Sinensis Radix, which was mostly modified on the basic prescriptions such as Siwu Decoction and Jiaoai Decoction.

Objective To analyze the clinical characteristics of organizing pneumonia secondary to inva-sive pulmonary aspergillosis.Methods A total of 13 patients with organizing pneumonia secondary to invasive pulmonary aspergillosis in the Department of Respiratory,the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou Univer-sity diagnosed by pathology from January 2019 to January 2021 were retrospectively included,and their clinical characteristics,laboratory examination,imaging characteristics,treatment and prognosis were comprehensively analyzed.Results Most cases of pulmonary aspergillosis occurred within 2-3 weeks of diagnosis,with coug-hing,expectoration,fever,and elevated C-reactive protein and erythrocyte sedimentation rate.Chest computed tomography showed patchy shadows around the original infection focus,mostly accompanied by consolidation,halo sign,bronchial inflation sign,and might be accompanied by cavity and pleural effusion;secondary multi lobed involvement of both lungs was observed,mostly with small patchy shadows,nodular shadows,and tree bud signs.After receiving glucocorticoid treatment,the symptoms were controlled within one week,and the glucocorticoid treatment course was mostly 3-6 months.Conclusion The clinical characteristics of organi-zing pneumonia secondary to invasive pulmonary aspergillosis are somewhat similar to those of cryptogenic or-ganizing pneumonia and have a better prognosis.

Dysphagia is the main complication of chemoradiotherapy for head and neck cancer. Recently, the advancement of multidisciplinary treatment has achieved a higher tumor control rate, but also a higher incidence of late radiation-induced dysphagia in head and neck cancer. Radiation-induced dysphagia leads to prolonged unnatural feeding, nutritional deficiency, weight loss, and also has a major risk for silent aspiration and aspiration pneumonia, which significantly reduces the quality of life of patients. Besides, late radiation-induced dysphagia is the main reason for limiting the intensity of treatment. Therefore, it is of great significance to deeply understand the pathogenesis of radiation-induced dysphagia and actively explore effective prevention and treatment measures to improve the survival rate and quality of life in head and neck cancer. This paper summarizes the pathogenesis, occurrence, risk factors of radiation-induced dysphagia in head and neck cancer, as well as the progress in the measurement and reporting methods, prevention and treatment strategies.

Objective:To investigate the molecular features of hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) caused by coxsackievirus A10 (CVA10) in Qingdao and analyze the clinical features of mild and severe cases.Methods:A total of 6 677 cases of HFMD routinely monitored by Qingdao Women and Children Hospital from 2014 to 2021 were enrolled. Throat swab samples were collected. Clinical data of these cases were retrospectively analyzed. Virus nucleic acid was extracted from the samples and the serotypes of enteroviruses were identified. The VP1 genes of CVA10 strains were amplified and sequenced. A phylogenetic tree based on the VP1 gene sequences was constructed using MEGA7. 0 software. SPSS23.0 software was used for statistical analysis.Results:There were 285 cases positive for CVA10, including 183 males and 102 females, and children under five years old accounted for 89.8%. Most of CVA10 infection occurred between the months of April to September. The count of white blood cells, the percentage of neutrophils, the concentration of hemoglobin, and the levels of aspartate aminotransferase and alanine transaminase were significantly higher in severe patients than in mild patients. Besides, chest radiography and brain CT revealed more abnormalities in severe patients, and the duration of ECG monitoring was longer in them. Compared with mild cases, severe cases developed rash early than fever with rash mostly on buttocks ( P<0.05). Phylogenetic analysis showed that most of the CVA10 strains circulating in Qingdao between 2014 and 2021 belonged to clade Ⅰ, and there were two variations A23V and I283V in the amino acid sequence of clade Ⅰ. Conclusions:This study showed that children of all ages were susceptible to CVA10, especially those under five years old. CVA10 showed complex and diverse epidemic trends in different regions and years.

ObjectiveTo investigate the effects of inoculation of potassium-solubilizing bacteria on the physiological characteristics of Paris polyphylla var. yunnanensis. MethodThe effects of different potassium-solubilizing bacteria on leaf area，photosynthetic pigment content， and active component indexes of P. polyphylla var. yunnanensis were investigated by pot planting at room temperature. ResultThe results showed that the inoculation of potassium-solubilizing bacteria could increase the leaf area of P. polyphylla var. yunnanensis. The largest average leaf area was observed in the S3 group，reaching 10.497 cm²，with a maximum increase of 11.0% compared with that of the CK group. The inoculation of potassium-solubilizing bacteria could increase the content of photosynthetic pigments in leaves. Among them，the increase in chlorophyll a content was significant （P<0.05），which was 80.6% higher than that of the CK group. The chlorophyll a/b values in all treatment groups were higher than that of the CK group. The activities of superoxide dismutase（SOD），catalase（CAT） and peroxidase（POD） in the leaves of P. polyphylla var. yunnanensis increased by 88.4%，33.8%， and 30.6%，respectively， as compared with that in the CK group. The inoculation of potassium-solubilizing bacteria could promote the accumulation of osmoregulation substances such as soluble sugar and soluble protein in leaf cells of P. polyphylla var. yunnanensis，with a maximum increase of 55.3% and 70.5% respectively compared with that of the CK group. Meanwhile，it also reduced the content of malondialdehyde（MDA），with a maximum decrease of 34.1% compared with that of the CK group. The results of correlation analysis showed that there were some correlations between different chemical components in P. polyphylla var. yunnanensis leaves. ConclusionThe inoculation of potassium-solubilizing bacteria can effectively promote the growth and development of P. polyphylla var. yunnanensis and improve its survival ability in adversity. It is of practical scientific significance and potential application value for improving the survival rate of P. polyphylla var. yunnanensis by artificial planting.

Objective:To investigate and analyze the effect of ubiquitin-editing protein A20 on monocytes activity in patients with ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP).Methods:Twenty-four VAP patients (VAP group) and twelve healthy controls (control group) were included from the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University between February 2019 and September 2019. Peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) and bronchial alveolar lavage fluid (BALF) (both infection site and non-infection site) were collected from VAP patients, while PBMCs were collected from healthy controls. A20 level in CD14 + monocytes were measured. CD14 + monocytes and CD4 + T cells were purified from VAP patients. CD14 + monocytes were transfected by A20 siRNA. Transfected CD14 + monocytes were directly/indirectly co-cultured with autologous CD4 + T cells. The secretion of interferon-γ (IFN-γ) and interleukin-17 (IL-17) by CD4 + T cells was investigated. Transfected CD14 + monocytes were directly/indirectly co-cultured with NCI-H889 cells. Cytotoxicity, and cytokines/granzyme B level, and tumor necrosis factor-related apoptosis inducing ligand (TRAIL)/Fas ligand (FasL) level was assessed. Student t test or SNK-q test was used for comparison. Results:VAP group had elevated percentage of circulating CD14 +A20 + cells than control group [(66.14±19.62)% vs. (52.52±13.71)%, P<0.05], and also had increased A20 mean fluorescence intensity (MFI) than control group [(268.0±72.56) vs. (197.4±60.01), P<0.05]. The percentage of CD14 +A20 + cells in BALF from infection site was higher than from non-infection site in VAP group [(66.14±19.62)% vs. (52.52±13.71)%, P<0.05], while A20 MFI in infection site was also up-regulated compared with non-infection site [(268.0±72.56) vs. (197.4±60.01), P<0.05]. In direct contact co-culture, A20 siRNA transfected CD14 + monocytes, which were purified from peripheral blood and BALF of VAP patients, induced elevated percentage of IFN-γ and IL-17 secreting CD4 + T cells than un-transfection or control siRNA transfection ( P<0.05). However, there were no significant differences of CD4 +IFN-γ + or CD4 +IL-17 + percentages among un-transfection, control siRNA transfection, and A20 siRNA transfection ( P>0.05). A20 siRNA transfected CD14 + monocytes, which were purified from peripheral blood and BALF of VAP patients, induced increased target cell death in both direct and indirect contact co-culture than un-transfection or control siRNA transfection ( P<0.05). Tumor necrosis factor-α, IL-6, granzyme B level and TRAIL MFI was also up-regulated ( P<0.05). There was no remarkable difference of target cell death between direct and indirect contact co-culture ( P>0.05). Conclusions:A20 was increasingly expressed in monocytes of VAP patients, and might dampen the activity of monocytes.
