Public hospitals serve as important windows for the Party to lead the people and serve the people, making the exploration of Party-building-led high-quality development in public hospitals highly significant in practical terms. This study delves into the current challenges faced in guiding the high-quality development of public hospitals through party building. It presents the practical exploration and outcomes of Dongguan People's Hospital, which has taken the initiative to establish a provincial demon-stration site for the"Four Orientations"project(Leading groups work effectively,Party branches work with promising methods,Party building achieves a fame with brand, and each unit has its own model)within the public hospital party-building framework. The hospital has deepened the practical application of the"Four Endeavors"project by practicing the project. These practices offer valuable insights into and references for high-quality development in public hospitals under the guidance of Party building.

OBJECTIVETo assess the association of extracellular superoxide dismutase (EC-SOD) gene methylation with cerebral infarction.
METHODSEighty-three patients with cerebral infarction and 94 healthy controls were enrolled. Based on cerebral MR findings, the size of infarction, extent of intracranial atherosclerosis, the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) score, and Barthel index were calculated. Methylation-specific PCR was used to analyze the methylation status of the EC-SOD gene in peripheral blood samples and its correlation with cerebral infarction.
RESULTSThe rate of EC-SOD gene promoter region methylation of the cerebral infarction group was lower than that of the control group (30.1% vs. 53.2%, P < 0.05). Patients with larger area of cerebral infarction (>4 cm in diameter) showed a lower methylation rate than those with a smaller cerebral infarction (0 vs. 39.1%, P < 0.05). Based on their cerebral MRA, 57 patients were divided into none, mild, moderate, and severe cerebral arteriosclerosis groups. The rate of EC-SOD gene methylation of the four groups showed a downward trend (at 45.5%, 42.9%, 23.8%, and 14.3%, respectively), though no statistical significance was found (P > 0.05). For the cerebral infarction group, those with higher rate of methylation had lower NIHSS scores (P < 0.05) but insignificantly higher Barthel index (P > 0.05).
CONCLUSIONThe EC-SOD methylation frequency of case group was lower than the control group. The methylation status is associated with the size of cerebral infarction, degree of cerebral arteriosclerosis and severity of neurological impairment.

Objective To evaluate the values of cell-mediated immune function in elderly renal allograft recipients.Method The levels of immuknowTM ATP was sequentially monitored by means of Cylex immuknowTM assay in 52 elderly renal allograft recipients including 11 with infection and 8 with acute rejection. Results No statistically significant difference was found between stable allograt function and uremia (P>0.05).The levels of immuknowTM ATP during infection was significantly lower than those with stable allograft function with acute rejection (P < 0.01).The levels of immuknowTM ATP during acute rejection was significantly higher than those with stable allograft function with infection (P<0.01).Conclusion Sequential monitoring of immuknowTM ATP is helpful for elderly renal allograft recipients in individualized immunosuppression therapy.Cylex immuknowTM assay can be used as a potent tool for assessment of high risk in infection and rejection.
