Radar-based non-contact health monitoring technology (RBNHMT) has emerged as a transformative paradigm in continuous health sensing, enabling non-invasive and continuous monitoring of physiological parameters and behavioral patterns by transmitting electromagnetic waves, analyzing the reflected signals, and detecting subtle bodily movements—ranging from millimeter-scale chest wall displacements due to respiration to micro-scale vibrations associated with cardiac activity—ultimately transforming them into quantifiable health data. Distinguished by its non-contact operation, inherent privacy preservation, and adaptability to diverse scenarios, RBNHMT exhibits stronger resistance to environmental interference than conventional contact-based monitoring, and has solidified its position as a prominent and dynamic research focus in the field of non-contact health monitoring. Currently, significant and multifaceted progress has been made across several key areas. In human activity recognition (HAR), systems leveraging micro-Doppler signatures or point cloud sequences achieve high-precision detection of gait, gestures, and fall events, with state-of-the-art deep learning-based models achieving accuracy rates exceeding 99% in controlled experimental settings. For vital sign and sleep monitoring, it not only tracks respiratory and heart rates continuously but also extracts clinically relevant metrics such as heart rate variability (HRV) for autonomic nervous system assessment and estimates blood pressure through indirect methods like pulse transit time analysis, while maintaining robustness in dynamic settings through advanced motion compensation algorithms. In sleep monitoring, it further enables sleep posture classification and apnea event detection. In emotion and stress recognition, it provides a non-intrusive approach for psychological assessment by analyzing autonomic-response physiological signal patterns or behavioral features. Furthermore, its applications in auxiliary medical diagnosis have expanded to promising interdisciplinary areas such as non-contact heart sound auscultation, radar-based screening for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), and emerging research into breast cancer detection using microwave and millimeter-wave imaging techniques. However, several challenges impede its practical deployment. Signal quality is significantly compromised by multipath interference in complex indoor environments and clutter from static objects, and by motion artifacts in dynamic scenarios where gross body movements obscure the subtle physiological signals. Algorithmically, separating signals from multiple targets in close proximity and calibrating for substantial individual physiological differences, such as body habitus, baseline vital signs, remain difficult and limit generalizability. Hardware design also faces the challenge of balancing power consumption, cost, integration, and performance, often requiring trade-offs that constrain miniaturization, battery life, or measurement sensitivity. Future advancement, therefore, requires collaborative and targeted innovation across multiple dimensions. Algorithmically, developing adaptive signal processing models based on emerging paradigms such as few-shot learning (for user-specific calibration with minimal data) and reinforcement learning (for dynamic noise suppression) is essential. At the hardware level, highly integrated radar SoCs with embedded processing capabilities and advanced packaging technologies are crucial for achieving the dual goals of device miniaturization and cost reduction without sacrificing performance. At the system level, fusing radar data with complementary modalities such as infrared and acoustic sensing can create a synergistic, multi-modal framework that significantly enhances perceptual robustness and reliability in complex, real-world environments. This review provides a comprehensive synthesis that systematically summarizes the relevant theoretical foundations and application progress, and offers an in-depth analysis of the current technical bottlenecks. It aims to provide a clear development path and a foundational academic reference for the in-depth integration and practical application of RBNHMT in critical scenarios including rehabilitation engineering, smart elderly care, in-vehicle health monitoring, and beyond, thereby offering innovative technical support for the vision of universal, proactive, and personalized health management.

Background: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a leading cause of cancer mortality, characterized by poor prognosis due to its high proliferative and invasive potential. Tumor metabolic reprogramming, particularly involving glucose metabolism, is essential for tumor survival. This study investigates the role of the Hippo pathway effector transcriptional co-activator with PDZ-binding motif (TAZ) in regulating gluconeogenesis and promoting tumorigenesis in HCC. Methods: TAZ expression in HCC was analyzed using The Cancer Genome Atlas data and validated in clinical samples and cell lines. TAZ was overexpressed or silenced in HCC cell lines to evaluate its effects on cell proliferation, apoptosis, migration, and invasion. The expression and prognostic relevance of the gluconeogenesis-related genes phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase 1 (PCK1) and glucose-6-phosphatase (G6PC) were examined, along with their correlation with TAZ expression. Tumor growth was assessed in nude mice. Interactions between TAZ and the glucocorticoid receptor (GR) were investigated using co-immunoprecipitation, immunofluorescence, and chromatin immunoprecipitation assays. Results: TAZ was significantly upregulated in HCC tissues and cell lines. TAZ overexpression enhanced proliferation, reduced apoptosis, and promoted migration and invasion. In contrast, PCK1 and G6PC were downregulated in HCC and showed a negative correlation with TAZ expression. Conclusion TAZ modulates gluconeogenesis and accelerates tumor growth, whereas its knockdown attenuates tumor progression. TAZ interacts with GR, suppressing its transcriptional activity on gluconeogenic gene promoters.

OBJECTIVE To provide standardized guidance for the homogenization construction and management of pharmaceutical care in urban medical groups. METHODS This consensus was jointly initiated by the Therapeutic Drug Monitoring Professional Committee of the Chinese Pharmacological Society and the Expert Committee on Precision Clinical Medication of the Guangdong Pharmaceutical Association. Led by Guangzhou Red Cross Hospital， a drafting group of 7 members and an expert group of 36 members were organized. The outline of the Expert Consensus on Homogeneous Construction and Management of Pharmaceutical Care in Urban Medical Groups （hereinafter referred to as the “Consensus”） was discussed and finalized using the nominal group technique， and a preliminary draft was formed. The Delphi method was used for online c orrespondence review， and 12 external experts were invited for evaluation. After analyzing and revising expert opinions， the final Consensus was formed. RESULTS &CONCLUSIONS This Consensus defines the position setting and appointment procedures for the chief pharmacist， and establishes a three-tier professional guidance network of “chief pharmacist-regional/specialist pharmacist-pharmaceutical liaison of member institutions”. It formulates unified management standards for the drug supply catalog， establishes a full-process homogenization mechanism for prescription review， prescription commentation and comprehensive pharmaceutical care， and specifies the core functions and performance requirements of the prescription review system. It also supports by long-term mechanisms including cost allocation and performance assessment. This consensus can serve as a systematic reference for the homogeneous construction and management of pharmaceutical care systems in urban medical groups.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the variability of bone metabolism levels among different populations and its association with knee osteoarthritis (KOA) pain. METHODS: A total of 50 people (control group) who participated in physical examination from January 2023 to June 2023 were selected, including 26 males and 24 females, wtih a mean aged of (52.14±9.04) years old ranging 41 to 65 years old. The other 50 patients with knee osteoarthritis(case group) who attended the outpatient clinic of the Orthopedics and Traumatology Department in the same time period, including 19 males and 31 females, with a mean age of (53.60±7.76) years old ranging 40 to 65 years. The two groups of Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index(WOMAC) and bone metabolism markers, such as 25-hydroxy-cholecalciferol[25(OH)D], β-isomerized typeⅠcollagen C-telopeptide breakdown products (β-CTX), total typeⅠprocollagen N-terminal propeptide (t-PINP), osteocalcin (OC), parathormone (PTH) levels were compared. Pearson correlation analysis was used to compare the correlation between two groups of bone metabolism related markers and WOMAC. RESULTS: The WOMAC score of the case group (39.90±2.34) was higher than that of the control group (3.60±0.57), with significant difference (P<0.05). There was no significant difference between the two groups of 25 (OH)D, β-CTX and PTH (P>0.05). The t-PINP and OC of the case group were (62.90±52.40) and (19.88±10.15) ng·ml-1, respectively, and those of the control group were (38.86±10.82) and (14.90±3.62) ng·ml^-1, respectively;the t-PINP and OC of the case group were higher than those of the control group, with significant difference (P<0.05). Pearson correlation analysis showed that t-PINP was positively correlated with WOMAC pain score in the case group (r²=0.045, P<0.01). CONCLUSION Bone metabolism levels in the serum of patients with knee osteoarthritis are different from those of healthy people, and the difference between OC and t-PINP is the most obvious, and the concentration of t-PINP levels is positively correlated with pain symptoms in patients with KOA. However, the specific mechanism of correlation between the bone metabolism levels of patients with KOA and their pain symptoms needs to be further elucidated by basic experimental research as well as by enlarging the samples.

PURPOSE: We carried out the study aiming to explore and analyze the risk factors, the distribution of pathogenic bacteria, and their antibiotic-resistance characteristics influencing the occurrence of surgical site infection (SSI), to provide valuable assistance for reducing the incidence of SSI after traumatic fracture surgery. METHODS: A retrospective case-control study enrolling 3978 participants from January 2015 to December 2019 receiving surgical treatment for traumatic fractures was conducted at Tangdu Hospital of Air Force Medical University. Baseline data, demographic characteristics, lifestyles, variables related to surgical treatment, and pathogen culture were harvested and analyzed. Univariate analyses and multivariate logistic regression analyses were used to reveal the independent risk factors of SSI. A bacterial distribution histogram and drug-sensitive heat map were drawn to describe the pathogenic characteristics. RESULTS: Included 3978 patients 138 of them developed SSI with an incidence rate of 3.47% postoperatively. By logistic regression analysis, we found that variables such as gender (males) (odds ratio (OR) = 2.012, 95% confidence interval (CI): 1.235 - 3.278, p = 0.005), diabetes mellitus (OR = 5.848, 95% CI: 3.513 - 9.736, p < 0.001), hypoproteinemia (OR = 3.400, 95% CI: 1.280 - 9.031, p = 0.014), underlying disease (OR = 5.398, 95% CI: 2.343 - 12.438, p < 0.001), hormonotherapy (OR = 11.718, 95% CI: 6.269 - 21.903, p < 0.001), open fracture (OR = 29.377, 95% CI: 9.944 - 86.784, p < 0.001), and intraoperative transfusion (OR = 2.664, 95% CI: 1.572 - 4.515, p < 0.001) were independent risk factors for SSI, while, aged over 59 years (OR = 0.132, 95% CI: 0.059 - 0.296, p < 0.001), prophylactic antibiotics use (OR = 0.082, 95% CI: 0.042 - 0.164, p < 0.001) and vacuum sealing drainage use (OR = 0.036, 95% CI: 0.010 - 0.129, p < 0.001) were protective factors. Pathogens results showed that 301 strains of 38 species of bacteria were harvested, among which 178 (59.1%) strains were Gram-positive bacteria, and 123 (40.9%) strains were Gram-negative bacteria. Staphylococcus aureus (108, 60.7%) and Enterobacter cloacae (38, 30.9%) accounted for the largest proportion. The susceptibility of Gram-positive bacteria to Vancomycin and Linezolid was almost 100%. The susceptibility of Gram-negative bacteria to Imipenem, Amikacin, and Meropenem exceeded 73%. CONCLUSION Orthopedic surgeons need to develop appropriate surgical plans based on the risk factors and protective factors associated with postoperative SSI to reduce its occurrence. Meanwhile, it is recommended to strengthen blood glucose control in the early stage of admission and for surgeons to be cautious and scientific when choosing antibiotic therapy in clinical practice.

OBJECTIVE: To elucidate the specific mechanisms by which electroacupuncture (EA) alleviates anxiety and fear behaviors associated with posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), focusing on the role of lipocalin-2 (Lcn2). METHODS: The PTSD mouse model was subjected to single prolonged stress and shock (SPS&S), and the animals received 15 min sessions of EA at Shenmen acupoint (HT7). Behavioral tests were used to investigate the effects of EA at HT7 on anxiety and fear. Western blotting and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay were used to quantify Lcn2 and inflammatory cytokine levels in the prefrontal cortex (PFC). Additionally, the activity of PFC neurons was evaluated by immunofluorescence and in vivo electrophysiology. RESULTS: Mice subjected to SPS&S presented increased anxiety- and fear-like behaviors. Lcn2 expression in the PFC was significantly upregulated following SPS&S, leading to increased expression of the proinflammatory cytokines tumor necrosis factor-α and interleukin-6 and suppression of PFC neuronal activity. However, EA at HT7 inhibited Lcn2 release, reducing neuroinflammation and hypoexcitability in the PFC. Lcn2 overexpression mitigated the effects of EA at HT7, resulting in anxiety- and fear-like behaviors. CONCLUSION EA at HT7 can ameliorate PTSD-associated anxiety and fear, and its mechanism of action appears to involve the inhibition of Lcn2-mediated neural activity and inflammation in the PFC. This study aims to investigate the pharmacological effects and mechanisms of Yougui Yin in treating glucocorticoid-induced osteonecrosis. A rat model of glucocorticoid-associated osteonecrosis of the femoral head(GA-ONFH) was established by intramuscular injection of dexamethasone at 20 mg·kg~(-1) every other day for 8 weeks. Rats were randomly allocated into control, model, and low-and high-dose(1.5 and 3.0 g·kg~(-1), respectively) Yougui Yin groups. After modeling, rats in Yougui Yin groups were administrated with Yougui Yin via gavage, which was followed by femoral specimen collection. Hematoxylin-eosin staining was employed to observe femoral head repair, and immunofluorescence was employed to assess adipogenic differentiation of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells(BMSCs) within the femoral head. Cell experiments were carried out with dexamethasone(1 μmol·L~(-1))-treated BMSCs to evaluate the effects of Yougui Yin-medicated serum on adipogenic differentiation. Animal experiments demonstrated that compared with the model group, Yougui Yin at both high and low doses significantly improved bone mineral density(BMD), bone volume/total volume(BV/TV) ratio, and trabecular thickness(Tb.Th) in the femoral head. Additionally, Yougui Yin alleviated necrosis-like changes and adipocyte infiltration and significantly reduced the expression level of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor γ(PPARγ) in the femoral head, thereby suppressing the adipogenic differentiation of BMSCs in GA-ONFH rats. The cell experiments revealed that Yougui Yin-medicated serum markedly inhibited dexamethasone-induced adipogenic differentiation of BMSCs and down-regulated the level of PPARγ. The overexpression of PPARγ attenuated the inhibitory effect of Yougui Yin-medicated serum on the adipogenic differentiation of BMSCs, indicating the critical role of PPARγ in Yougui Yin-mediated suppression of adipogenic differentiation of BMSCs. In conclusion, Yougui Yin exerts therapeutic effects on glucocorticoid-induced osteonecrosis by down-regulating PPARγ expression and inhibiting adipogenic differentiation of BMSCs.

Based on the theory of 'bi （痹） of both body and viscera'， this paper systematically discussed the pathogenic evolution of rheumatoid arthritis （RA） complicated by sarcopenia from the perspective of traditional Chinese medicine （TCM）. It is proposed that a transformation pathway is muscle bi to spleen bi and then atrophy bi， and the core pathogenesis is diaharmony of ying （营） and wei （卫）. Combining modern molecular biology research， it is suggested that imbalances in skeletal muscle homeostasis mediated by the tumor necrosis factor-like weak inducer of apoptosis-ibroblast growth factor-inducible 14 （TWEAK-Fn14） axis may provide the material basis for the evolution of this disease. Furthermore， this authors proposed TCM treatment strategies， including "regulating and tonifying ying and wei， warming yang and moving bi， nourishing the viscera by supporting the body"， and "promoting the spleen and resolving turbidity， clearing heat and promoting circulation， regulating the organs and calming the body". These strategies emphasize the simultaneous treatment of body and viscera， integrated prevention and treatment， so as to provide TCM theoretical foundation and clinical approaches for preventing and treating RA complicated by sarcopenia.

Objective:To analyze the quality level of maternal mid-trimester serum prenatal screening in China from 2019 to 2023.Methods:A questionnaire survey was conducted to collect information from laboratories participating in the National Health Commission′s Clinical Laboratory Center inter-laboratory quality assessment program for prenatal screening from 2019 to 2023. The collected data included screening protocols, detection methods, testing systems, and monthly laboratory screening quality indicators. The Chi-square test was used to compare the initial screening positive rates among different screening protocols, provinces, detection methods, and testing systems. A log-transformed linear regression analysis was performed to evaluate the relationship between the average annual sample size and the out-of-control rate of various median multiple of the median (mMoM) values.Results:This study included 806 laboratories from 29 provinces (including autonomous regions and municipalities). The five-year average out-of-control rates for mMoM values across indicators ranged from 15.8% to 31.3%. The initial positive rates of dual, triple, and quadruple screening protocols were statistically different ( χ2=760.2, P<0.001). The initial positive rates across different provinces ranged from 4.7% to 10.3%, with statistically significant differences ( χ2=35 388.0, P<0.001). There were also statistically significant differences in initial positive rates between different testing systems ( χ2=2 493.2, P<0.001). Testing systems using chemiluminescence methods had significantly higher initial positive rates compared to systems using time-resolved fluorescence methods (7.2% vs. 6.5%, χ2=533.6, P<0.001). Log-linear regression analysis showed that testing systems with larger annual average sample sizes had lower out-of-control rates for mMoM values (AFP: β=-0.100, P=0.005; hCG: β=-0.123, P=0.008; uE3: β=-0.139, P=0.007). Conclusion:There are significant differences in the quality of maternal mid-trimester serum screening across different detection methods, testing systems and provinces in China.

Objective:To investigate the differences in clinical and imaging characteristics of patients with recent small subcortical infarct (RSSI) stratified by different etiological subtypes.Methods:A retrospective, consecutive analysis was conducted on 696 RSSI patients admitted to the West China Hospital, Sichuan University, from January 2019 to May 2024. Based on clinical and imaging data, patients were stratified into 3 etiological subgroups: presumed cerebral small vessel disease (CSVD)-related RSSI, coexisting carrier large artery stenosis, and coexisting proximal extracranial/intracranial large artery stenosis. The clinical characteristics, vascular risk factors, infarct imaging features, and CSVD markers were compared across the 3 groups. Additionally, the differences in clinical and imaging features based on the location of infarcts (anterior vs posterior circulation) and infarct size (<15 mm vs ≥15 mm) were examined. Results:Among the 696 patients, 557 (80.0%) had presumed CSVD-related RSSI, 68 (9.8%) had coexisting carrier large artery stenosis, and 71 (10.2%) had coexisting proximal extracranial/intracranial large artery stenosis. The patients with presumed CSVD-related RSSI were the youngest [60 (53, 69) years], followed by those with coexisting carrier large artery stenosis [64 (55, 69) years] and those with coexisting proximal extracranial/intracranial large artery stenosis [69 (55, 75) years; H=9.523, P=0.013]. Among RSSI patients with coexisting proximal extracranial/intracranial large artery stenosis, the proportion of those with diabetes (38/71, 53.5%) was the highest, whereas the proportion was 210/557 (37.7%) in the presumed CSVD-related group and 31/68 (45.6%) in the group with coexisting carrier large artery stenosis (χ 2=8.027, P=0.023). Patients with RSSI combined with proximal extracranial/intracranial large artery stenosis had more infarction sites in the pons and a higher proportion of proximal infarction. However, there were no significant differences among the 3 groups in terms of infarct size, or CSVD imaging markers. In the anterior versus posterior circulation comparison, patients with posterior circulation RSSI ( n=360) had a significantly higher age of onset [63(55, 72) years vs 60(52, 59) years, U=51 335.500, P<0.001], had higher prevalence of hypertension and diabetes, and showed higher NIHSS scores [3(2, 6) vs 3(1, 5), U=57 840.500, P=0.028]. The anterior circulation group ( n=366) showed a higher proportion of lacunas [152/336 (45.2%) vs 118/360 (32.8%), χ2=11.364, P<0.001], while the posterior circulation group had a greater prevalence of severe perivascular spaces in the basal ganglia [254/360 (70.6%) vs 203/336 (60.4%), χ2=7.879, P=0.005] and deep white matter hyperintensities grading≥2 [124/360 (34.4%) vs 90/336 (26.8%), χ2=4.787, P=0.029]. There were no statistically significant differences in the distribution of infarcts between anterior and posterior circulations or in CSVD imaging markers between RSSI patients with infarction lesions ≥15 mm ( n=290) and <15 mm ( n=406). Conclusions:Approximately 20% of RSSI cases are related to large artery stenosis. These patients tend to be older at onset and have a higher prevalence of diabetes. Compared to presumed CSVD-related RSSI cases, RSSI cases related to large artery stenosis show no significant differences in infarct imaging features and CSVD imaging markers, suggesting that large artery stenosis in RSSI may be an epiphenomenon rather than a direct causative factor.
