Objective: Introduce and briefly describe the status, characteristics, and writing ideas of general notice in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia 2025 edition, providing reference and suggestions for better understanding and implementation of the Chinese Pharmacopoeia 2025 edition.
Methods:This article elaborates on the content and revision of general notice in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia 2025 edition from the perspective of frame structure and main contents.
Results:Compared with other pharmacopoeias of various countries, Chinese Pharmacopoeia includes standards for traditional Chinese medicine, chemical drugs, biological products and excipients, pharmaceutical packaging materials, etc. Each section of Chinese Pharmacopoeia has its own general notice, with 34 to 48 items arranged in 11 to 12 chapters. Depending on the type of products included and the development history, the general notice in each section present differences in format and content. Given the importance and significance of the standards in Chinese Pharmacopoeia, it is necessary for the industry to coordinate and unify the general notice in various parts of Chinese Pharmacopoeia. With the introduction and revision of regulations, changes in the content of pharmacopoeias, and the application of new technologies, methods, and concepts in drug quality control, considering the unique characteristics of various drugs in quality control and supervision, Chinese Pharmacopoeia has comprehensively standardized relevant requirements. While taking into account the characteristics of the first, second, third, and fourth parts of the pharmacopoeia, it retains the characteristics of relative uniformity and the content of each part, achieving the unified standardization of the general rules of each general notice in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia 2025 edition and the coordination and consistency of common content.
Conclusion: The current version of Chinese Pharmacopoeia has undergone significant changes and improvements in both form and content. By introducing the overall situation and revised content of general notice in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia 2025 edition, pharmacopoeia users can have a deeper understanding of Chinese Pharmacopoeia and use it correctly.

PURPOSE: To investigate the incidence and influencing factors of bone loss in patients with spinal cord injury (SCI). METHODS: A retrospective case-control study was conducted. Patients with SCI in our hospital from January 2019 to March 2023 were collected. According to the correlation between bone mineral density (BMD) at different sites, the patients were divided into the lumbar spine group and the hip joint group. According to the BMD value, the patients were divided into the normal bone mass group (t > -1.0 standard deviation) and the osteopenia group (t ≤ -1.0 standard deviation). The influencing factors accumulated as follows: gender, age, height, weight, cause of injury, injury segment, injury degree, time after injury, start time of rehabilitation, motor score, sensory score, spasticity, serum value of alkaline phosphatase, calcium, and phosphorus. The trend chart was drawn and the influencing factors were analyzed. SPSS 26.0 was used for statistical analysis. Correlation analysis was used to test the correlation between the BMD values of the lumbar spine and bilateral hips. Binary logistic regression analysis was used to explore the influencing factors of osteoporosis after SCI. p < 0.05 was considered statistically significant. RESULTS: The incidence of bone loss in patients with SCI was 66.3%. There was a low concordance between bone loss in the lumbar spine and the hip, and the hip was particularly susceptible to bone loss after SCI, with an upward trend in incidence (36% - 82%). In this study, patients with SCI were divided into the lumbar spine group (n = 100) and the hip group (n = 185) according to the BMD values of different sites. Then, the lumbar spine group was divided into the normal bone mass group (n = 53) and the osteopenia group (n = 47); the hip joint group was divided into the normal bone mass group (n = 83) and the osteopenia group (n = 102). Of these, lumbar bone loss after SCI is correlated with gender and weight (p = 0.032 and < 0.001, respectively), and hip bone loss is correlated with gender, height, weight, and time since injury (p < 0.001, p = 0.015, 0.009, and 0.012, respectively). CONCLUSIONS The incidence of bone loss after SCI was high, especially in the hip. The incidence and influencing factors of bone loss in the lumbar spine and hip were different. Patients with SCI who are male, low height, lightweight, and long time after injury were more likely to have bone loss.

Spermatogenesis is a fundamental process that requires a tightly controlled epigenetic event in spermatogonial stem cells (SSCs). The mechanisms underlying the transition from SSCs to sperm are largely unknown. Most studies utilize gene knockout mice to explain the mechanisms. However, the production of genetically engineered mice is costly and time-consuming. In this study, we presented a convenient research strategy using an RNA interference (RNAi) and testicular transplantation approach. Histone H3 lysine 9 (H3K9) methylation was dynamically regulated during spermatogenesis. As Jumonji domain-containing protein 1A (JMJD1A) and Jumonji domain-containing protein 2C (JMJD2C) demethylases catalyze histone H3 lysine 9 dimethylation (H3K9me2), we firstly analyzed the expression profile of the two demethylases and then investigated their function. Using the convenient research strategy, we showed that normal spermatogenesis is disrupted due to the downregulated expression of both demethylases. These results suggest that this strategy might be a simple and alternative approach for analyzing spermatogenesis relative to the gene knockout mice strategy.

OBJECTIVES: To compare serum insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1) and peak growth hormone (GH) levels between girls with isolated premature thelarche (IPT) and central precocious puberty (CPP), to construct a prediction model for progression from IPT to CPP, and to assess its diagnostic value. METHODS: Girls diagnosed with IPT (n=111) between January 2022 and August 2023 at the China-Japan Friendship Hospital and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps Hospital were retrospectively included. According to follow-up outcomes, participants were categorized into a CPP group (35 cases) and an IPT group (36 cases). A clinical prediction model for progression to CPP was constructed by multivariable logistic regression, and the contributions of IGF-1 and peak GH were evaluated. Restricted cubic spline analysis was used to assess the dose-response relationships of IGF-1 and peak GH with CPP. Decision curve analysis was applied to evaluate clinical utility. RESULTS: IGF-1 and peak GH were higher in the CPP group than in the IPT group (P<0.05). Compared with model 1 (without IGF-1 and peak GH), model 2 (with IGF-1 and peak GH) showed significantly higher area under the curve, integrated discrimination improvement, and net reclassification improvement (all P<0.05). Model 2 (χ 2=6.054, P=0.889) also demonstrated better goodness-of-fit than model 1 (χ 2=7.717, P=0.634). Nonlinear dose-response relationships were observed for peak GH and IGF-1 with CPP (P for overall trend <0.05; P for nonlinearity <0.05). Decision curve analysis indicated that combined prediction using IGF-1 and peak GH provided greater net benefit than either biomarker alone. CONCLUSIONS Peak GH and IGF-1 are closely associated with progression from IPT to CPP in girls. A clinical prediction model incorporating peak GH and IGF-1 can improve prediction of progression to CPP and yield higher net benefit.

Growth arrest DNA damage-inducible protein 45 β (GADD45B) has been reported to be a regulatory factor for active DNA demethylation and is implicated in the modulation of synaptic plasticity and chronic stress-related psychopathological processes. However, its precise role and mechanism of action in stress susceptibility remain elusive. In this study, we found a significant reduction in GADD45B expression specifically in the ventral, but not the dorsal hippocampal CA1 (dCA1) of stress-susceptible mice. Furthermore, we demonstrated that GADD45B negatively regulates susceptibility to social stress and NMDA receptor-dependent long-term potentiation (LTP) in the ventral hippocampal CA1 (vCA1). Importantly, through pharmacological inhibition using the NMDA receptor antagonist MK801, we provided further evidence supporting the hypothesis that GADD45B potentially modulates susceptibility to social stress by influencing NMDA receptor-mediated LTP. Collectively, these results suggested that modulation of NMDA receptor-mediated synaptic plasticity is a pivotal mechanism underlying the regulation of susceptibility to social stress by GADD45B.

Objective To explore the potential categories of psychosocial adaptation in psoriasis patients and their differences in social alienation.Methods Using a cross-sectional survey design,convenience sam-pling was used to select 376 psoriasis patients from multiple hospitals in Shandong Province from September to December 2022.Participants completed the general information questionnaire,Psychosocial Adaptation to Illness Scale(PAIS-SR),Acceptance and Action Questionnaire-Ⅱ(AAQ-2),and General Alienation Scale(GAS).Latent profile analysis was performed using Mplus8.0 software to identify psychosocial adaptation patterns of psoriasis patients,and SPSS25.0 was used to compare social alienation differences among different adaptation groups.Results Psoriasis patients could be divided into two latent profiles:moderate psychosocial adaptation group(31.38％)and low psychosocial adaptation group(68.62％).Medical payment method,dis-ease recurrence,psoriasis subtype,disease duration,family history,skin lesion exposure,and AAQ-2 scores were identified as main influencing factors(P＜0.05).Significant differences in total GAS scores were found between the two groups(P＜0.05).Conclusion The psychosocial adaptation of psoriasis patients shows het-erogeneity and could be classified into two latent profiles.Targeted interventions should be implemented to improve psychosocial adaptation levels.

Objective:To summarize the medication law and academic experience of Professor Yuan Jinsheng in the treatment of angina pectoris (AP) of coronary heart disease (CHD) through R language data mining technique.Methods:The effective outpatient medical records of Professor Yuan Jinsheng in the treatment of AP of CHD from January 1, 2016 to September 30, 2023 were selected, and the R 4.2.3 was used for frequency statistics, association rule analysis, systematic clustering analysis and correlation analysis of prescription drugs.Results:A total of 292 prescriptions were included, including 268 patients, involving 204 kinds of Chinese materia medica, and the total frequency of Chinese materia medica was 4 253 times. The main properties were warm and neutral, the main tastes were bitter, pungent and sweet, and the main meridians were spleen, lung and liver meridians. The analysis of association rules obtained 125 core TCM combinations, and the commonly used drug pair was Trichosanthis Fructus-Aurantii Fructus Immaturus. The core prescription composed of Aurantii Fructus Immaturus, Chuanxiong Rhizoma, Trichosanthis Fructus, Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium and Salviea Miltiorrhizae Radix et Rhizoma. Seven TCM groups of were obtained by systematic clustering analysis. Correlation analysis showed that the drug pairs with phi coefficient greater than 0.6 were in 8 groups.Conclusions:Studies suggest that AP of CHD is located in the heart, which is related to lung, spleen, liver and kidney, deficiency in root and excess in superficiality, phlegm, blood stasis and qi stagnation are important pathological factors. The treatment is based on the basic principles of tonifying qi, promoting yang, relieving rheumatism, resolving phlegm, activating blood circulation, and promoting qi circulation. It embodies Professor Yuan's academic thoughts and principles of differentiation and treatments of "taking fluency as the main point, regulating the five internal organs and weighing the root and superficiality".

Objective To analyze the efficacy of bevacizumab combined with paclitaxel+carboplatin in the treatment of recurrent/metastatic cervical cancer,and to explore the influence on survival prognosis of patients.Methods Patients with recurrent/metastatic cervical cancer were divided into control group and treatment group according to different treatment methods.The control group received paclitaxel combined with carboplatin chemotherapy regimen(intravenous infusion of 170 mg·m-2 paclitaxel and carboplatin(AUC=5 mg·mL-1·min)for 3 weeks as a course of chemotherapy),and the treatment group was given bevacizumab on the basis of control group,intravenous infusion of 15 mg·kg-1 bevacizumab,once every 3 weeks.Both groups were treated for 3 cycles of treatment by taking 3 weeks as 1 treatment cycle.The clinical efficacy,levels of serum tumor markers,quality of life,survival prognosis and occurrence of drug-related adverse reactions during treatment were compared between the two groups.Results There were 41 cases in treatment group and 48 cases in control group.After treatment,the overall response rate(ORR)of treatment group and control group were 31.71％(13 cases/41 cases)and 14.58％(7 cases/48 cases),with no statistical significance(P＞0.05).After treatment,the disease control rate(DCR)in control group and treatment group were 62.50％(30 cases/48 cases)and 82.93％(34 cases/41 cases);the squamous cell carcinoma antigen(SCCA)levels were(3.58±0.73)and(2.52±0.57)ng·mL-1;carbohydrate antigen 19-9(CA19-9)levels were(23.60±4.29)and(19.19±3.72)U·mL-1;carbohydrate antigen 15-3(CA15-3)levels were(27.13±5.36)and(22.86±3.94)U·mL-1;carbohydrate antigen 125(CA125)levels were(39.24±6.88)and(26.47±5.09)U·mL-1;the overall improvement rates of quality of life were 41.67％(20 cases/48 cases)and 73.17％(30 cases/41 cases),the progression-free survival times were 8.67 months(95％CI:7.82-9.53)and 10.25 months(95％CI:9.68-10.81),the total survival times were 9.96 months(95％CI:9.13-10.79)and 11.47 months(95％CI:11.00-11.93),all with significant difference(all P＜0.05).There were no statistically significant differences in the incidence of nausea and vomiting,leukopenia,thrombocytopenia and liver-kidney function impairment between both groups(all P＞0.05).Conclusion Bevacizumab combined with chemotherapy has significant efficacy in the treatment of recurrent/metastatic cervical cancer,and it can reduce the levels of serum tumor markers,enhance the quality of life,and improve the survival prognosis,and it has good safety.

This study used kidney metabolomics to investigate the underlying mechanisms of Guilingji (GLJ) on mild cognitive impairment (MCI) rats. The rats were randomly divided into 6 groups (n = 8), i.e., control group, model group, positive drug (Ginkgo biloba tablet, donepezil) group, GLJ group (low and high dose group). The MCI rat model was replicated using subcutaneous injection of D-galactose into the back of the neck along with a semi-high-fat diet for a total of 8 weeks, and drug was administered from the 5th week for 4 weeks. The kidney function and renal pathological changes of each group of rats were tested. And LC-MS based kidney metabolomics coupled with multivariate data analysis were conducted to explore the potential biomarkers, and corresponding metabolic pathways were then determined. After administration of GLJ, the level of urea nitrogen was decreased compared with those of the model group, and the abnormalities of morphology in kidney tissues were improved. The positive drugs (ginkgo biloba tablet and donepezil) had no significant modulating effect on renal function indexes. Ginkgo biloba tablet can lessen the pathological injury of kidney tissue, and donepezil had no improvement on renal histopathology. A total of 23 MCI related differential metabolites were identified in kidney, and 17 metabolites were signifcantly restored by GLJ compared with those of the model group. Additionally, we found that the cysteine and methionine metabolism, nicotinate and nicotinamide metabolism, taurine and hypotaurine metabolism, glycerophospholipid metabolism were significantly involved in the regulatory effect of GLJ. The results illuminate the "cong shen zhi nao" mechanism of GLJ, and also provide a research basis for the clinical use of GLJ for the treatment of MCI. The animal experiment of this study was approved by the Ethics Committee of Shanxi University (approval number: 2020DW121).

OBJECTIVE: To investigate a new noninvasive diagnostic model for nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) based on features of tongue images. METHODS: Healthy controls and volunteers confirmed to have NAFLD by liver ultrasound were recruited from China-Japan Friendship Hospital between September 2018 and May 2019, then the anthropometric indexes and sampled tongue images were measured. The tongue images were labeled by features, based on a brief protocol, without knowing any other clinical data, after a series of corrections and data cleaning. The algorithm was trained on images using labels and several anthropometric indexes for inputs, utilizing machine learning technology. Finally, a logistic regression algorithm and a decision tree model were constructed as 2 diagnostic models for NAFLD. RESULTS: A total of 720 subjects were enrolled in this study, including 432 patients with NAFLD and 288 healthy volunteers. Of them, 482 were randomly allocated into the training set and 238 into the validation set. The diagnostic model based on logistic regression exhibited excellent performance: in validation set, it achieved an accuracy of 86.98%, sensitivity of 91.43%, and specificity of 80.61%; with an area under the curve (AUC) of 0.93 [95% confidence interval (CI) 0.68-0.98]. The decision tree model achieved an accuracy of 81.09%, sensitivity of 91.43%, and specificity of 66.33%; with an AUC of 0.89 (95% CI 0.66-0.92) in validation set. CONCLUSIONS The features of tongue images were associated with NAFLD. Both the 2 diagnostic models, which would be convenient, noninvasive, lightweight, rapid, and inexpensive technical references for early screening, can accurately distinguish NAFLD and are worth further study.
