1.Effect of rosuvastatin combined with sodium tanshinone Ⅱ A sulfonate on blood lipids,cardiac function and serum inflammatory factors in elderly patients with stable angina pectoris and hyperlipidemia

Objective:To analyze the effect of rosuvastatin combined with sodium tanshinone Ⅱ A sulfonate(STS)on blood lipids,cardiac function and serum inflammatory factors in elderly patients with stable angina pectoris(SAP)and hyperlipidemia(HLP).Methods:This randomized controlled study enrolled 140 elderly patients with SAP and HLP admitted in the Third People's Hospital of Liaocheng between December 2021 and December 2023.Patients were divided into control group(n=70,took rosuvastatin orally)and combination group(n=70,treated with ro-suvastatin combined with STS).Both groups were treated for two weeks.Clinical effects,blood lipids,cardiac function and serum inflammatory factors and incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups.Results:Total effective rate of combination group was significantly higher than that of control group(92.86%vs.80.00%,P=0.026).Compared with patients in control group,those in combination group had significant lower triglyceride(TG)[(1.42±0.39)mmol/L vs.(1.69±0.11)mmol/L],total cholesterol(TC)[(4.37±0.69)mmol/L vs.(5.25±0.43)mmol/L]and low density lipoprotein-cholesterol(LDL-C)[(2.62±0.39)mmol/L vs.(3.19±0.38)mmol/L],and significant higher high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C)[(1.24±0.31)mmol/L vs.(1.10±0.22)mmol/L](P<0.01 all).Compared with patients in control group,those in combination group had significant higher left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF)[(59.13±5.46)%vs.(55.97±4.02)%,P<0.001],and significant lower C-reactive protein(CRP)[(2.66±0.68)mg/L vs.(3.50±1.61)mg/L],tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)[(93.34±19.26)pg/ml vs.(111.70±25.00)pg/ml]and interleukin-6(IL-6)[(76.28±23.88)pg/ml vs.(100.64±27.52)pg/ml](P<0.001 all).There was no significant difference in the total incidence rate of adverse reactions between two groups(25.7%vs.14.3%,P=0.091).Conclusion:Rosuvas-tatin combined with STS is effective in the treatment of elderly patients with SAP and HLP.It is superior to rosuvas-tatin alone in terms of improving blood lipids,cardiac function and serum inflammatory factors.

Body weight abnormalities, including overweight, obesity, and underweight, have become a dual public health challenge in Chinese adults: overweight and obesity lead to a variety of chronic complications, while underweight increases the risks of malnutrition, sarcopenia, and organ dysfunction. To systematically address these issues, multidisciplinary experts in endocrinology, sports science, nutrition, and psychiatry from various regions have held multiple weight management seminars. Based on the latest epidemiological data and clinical evidence, they expanded the guideline to include assessment and intervention strategies for underweight, in addition to the core content of obesity management. This guideline outlines the etiological mechanisms, evaluation methods, and multidimensional management strategies for overweight and obesity, covering key areas such as diagnosis and assessment, medical nutrition therapy, exercise prescription, pharmacological intervention, and psychological support. It is intended to provide a scientific and standardized approach to weight management across the adult population, aiming to curb the rising prevalence of obesity, mitigate complications associated with abnormal body weight, and improve nutritional status and overall quality of life.

The telomere structure in the cell nucleus is crucial for maintaining the stability and functions of chromosomes.Telomerase is a ribonucleoprotein reverse transcriptase,which catalyzes the elongation of telomeres using its own RNA as a template,thereby counteracting the shortening of telomeres caused by chromosome replication and cell division.Due to its overexpression in over 85%of malignant tumor cells,telomerase has emerged as a highly promising biomarker and a novel target for cancer therapy.In recent years,given the importance of precise quantification of telomerase activity in guiding medical diagnosis and treatment strategies,researchers have developed various high-performance telomerase detection techniques.Among these,electrochemical biosensing technique has cause much attention due to its high sensitivity,operational convenience,rapid response,and ease of miniaturization.This paper focused on the latest advances in electrochemical sensing technique for detection of telomerase activity,aiming to provide inspiration for designing novel telomerase activity detection strategies by elucidating three unique properties of telomerase primer extension products.

Metastasis serves as an indicator of malignancy and is a biological characteristic of carcinomas. Epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) plays a key role in the promotion of tumor invasion and metastasis and in the enhancement of tumor cell aggressiveness. Prostaglandin E synthase 3 (p23) is a cochaperone for heat shock protein 90 (HSP90). Our previous study showed that p23 is an HSP90-independent transcription factor in cancer-associated inflammation. The effect and mechanism of action of p23 on lung cancer metastasis are tested in this study. By utilizing cell models in vitro and mouse tail vein metastasis models in vivo, the results provide solid evidence that p23 is critical for promoting lung cancer metastases by regulating downstream CXCL1 expression. Rather than acting independently, p23 forms a complex with RNA-binding motif protein 14 (RBM14) to facilitate EMT progression in lung cancer. Therefore, our study provides evidence for the potential role of the RBM14-p23-CXCL1-EMT axis in the metastasis of lung cancer.

Cervical spinal cord injury without fracture-dislocation (CSCIWFD) is referred to as a special type of cervical spinal cord injury characterized by traumatic spinal cord dysfunction and no significant bony structural abnormalities on imagines. Duo to the high risk of missed diagnosis during the initial consultation, CSCIWFD may lead to progressive neurological deterioration or even complete paralysis, severely impacting patients′ prognosis. Currently, there are no established consensuses over the diagnosis and treatment of CSCIWFD, such as the lack of evidence-based standards for indications of non-surgical treatment and risk of secondary neurological injury, as well as debates over the optimal timing for surgical intervention and indications for different surgical approaches. To address these issues, the Spine Trauma Group of the Orthopedic Branch of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association organized experts in the relevant fields to formulate Diagnosis and treatment guideline for acute cervical spinal cord injury without fracture- dislocation in adults ( version 2025) . Based on evidence-based medicine and the principles of scientific rigor and clinical applicability, the guidelines proposed 11 recommendations covering terminology, diagnosis, evaluation treatment, and rehabilitation, etc., aiming to standardize the management of CSCIWFD.

10.A serial case study of the combined use of intraoperative CT and surgical navigation system for the removal of small foreign bodies in the maxillofacial region

Purpose::The removal of small foreign bodies embedded within the deep soft tissues of the maxillofacial region is a complex and challenging task for maxillofacial surgeons. The purpose of this study was to explore the efficacy of the combination of intraoperative CT and surgical navigation for the removal of small foreign objects in the maxillofacial region.Methods::A serial case study was conducted involving all consecutive patients who underwent surgical removal of small foreign bodies in the maxillofacial region. The combination of intraoperative CT and a surgical navigation system was used at a single medical institution from January 2018 to December 2022. Comprehensive data, including patient demographics, characteristics of the foreign bodies, previous surgical interventions, duration of the surgical procedure, and removal success rate were collected for this study. Relevant data were recorded into Microsoft Excel sheet and analyzed using SPSS version 22.0.Results::Nine patients (6 males and 3 females) were included in this study, with an average age of 37 years. Each patient had previously undergone an unsuccessful removal attempt utilizing conventional surgical methods based on preoperative CT imaging or C-arm guidance at a local healthcare facility. Four patients also experienced unsuccessful attempts with preoperative CT image-based navigation systems. However, by employing the combined approach of intraoperative CT and surgical navigation, the foreign bodies were successfully removed in all 9 patients. The mean duration of the surgical procedure was 59 min, and the average size of the foreign bodies was approximately 26 mm 3. Postoperative follow-up exceeding 6 months revealed no complications. Conclusion::The combined use of a surgical navigation system and intraoperative CT represents a potent and effective strategy for the precise localization and subsequent removal of small foreign bodies from the soft tissue structures of the maxillofacial region. This integrative approach appears to increase the success rate of surgical interventions in such cases.
