Background::Computer-aided detection (CAD) software has been introduced to automatically interpret digital chest X-rays. This study aimed to evaluate the performance of CAD software (JF CXR-1 v3.0, which was developed by a domestic Hi-tech enterprise) in tuberculosis (TB) case finding in China.Methods::In 2019, we conducted an internal evaluation of the performance of JF CXR-1 v3.0 by reading standard images annotated by a panel of experts. In 2020, using the reading results of chest X-rays by a panel of experts as the reference standard, we conducted an on-site prospective study to evaluate the performance of JF CXR-1 v3.0 and local radiologists in TB case finding in 13 township health centers in Zhongmu County, Henan Province.Results::Internal assessment results based on 277 standard images showed that JF CXR-1 v3.0 had a sensitivity of 85.94% (95% confidence interval [CI]: 77.42%, 94.45%) and a specificity of 74.65% (95% CI: 68.81%, 80.49%) to distinguish active TB from other imaging conditions. In the on-site evaluation phase, images from 3705 outpatients who underwent chest X-ray detection were read by JF CXR-1 v3.0 and local radiologists in parallel. The imaging diagnosis of local radiologists for active TB had a sensitivity of 32.89% (95% CI: 22.33%, 43.46%) and a specificity of 99.28% (95% CI: 99.01%, 99.56%), while JF CXR-1 v3.0 showed a significantly higher sensitivity of 92.11% (95% CI: 86.04%, 98.17%) ( p < 0.05) and maintained high specificity at 94.54% (95% CI: 93.81%, 95.28%). Conclusions::CAD software could play a positive role in improving the TB case finding capability of township health centers.

Objective:To explore the reliability and validity of the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health′s 17-item Rehabilitation Set (ICF-RS-17) when used to evaluate multidisciplinary inpatients. Methods:A total of 359 inpatients in the departments of rehabilitation, orthopedics, neurology, and neurosurgery of three hospitals in Jiangsu province were assessed with the ICF-RS-17 at admission and at discharge, and the internal consistency of the tool was calculated. Inter-rater and intra-rater reliability were quantified using interclass correlation coefficients (ICCs). Structural validity was analyzed using factor analysis. Results:The tool′s Cronbach′s α was 0.945. The overall inter-rater ICC was 0.946 with the ICCs of all of the items except b280 sensation of pain within the range from 0.630 to 0.948. The overall intra-rater ICCs ranged from 0.471 to 0.947. The factor analysis found three factors with eigenvalues greater than 1, accounting for 74% of the variation, without double-loaded items. The three influential factors were exercise ability, sleep perception communication ability and self-care ability. Conclusion:The ICF-RS-17 has good internal consistency, inter-rater and intra-rater reliability and structural validity in the evaluation of multidisciplinary inpatients.

Objective To investigate the effects of radiotherapy combined with resveratrol( Res)on proliferation, invasion and apoptosis of hepatoma cell line Bel-7404. Methods Bel-7404 cell line was treated with Res(25 μmol·L-1 ) combined with radiotherapy, then divided into four groups( group 1:the control;group 2:radiation at dose of 2 Gy;group 3:radiation at dose of 4 Gy;group 4:radiation at dose of 6 Gy). Cell proliferation and invasion were detected by MTT assay. Cell apoptosis were observed by fluorescence microscopy. Expressions of MMP-2 and VEGF proteins were determined by Western blotting. Results Compared with the control group, cell proliferation and invasion were significantly inhibited, while cell apoptosis was increased in all radiation groups(P〈0. 05). Conclusion The sensitivity of hepatoma Bel-7404 cells to radiation can be enhanced by resveratrol. Radiation therapy combined with resveratrol can inhibit proliferation and invasion of hepatoma cells and increase the cell apoptosis, which may be related with the down-regulation of MMP-2 and VEGF proteins.

OBJECTIVE:
To evaluate diagnostic significance of the noninvasive and objective 320-slice CT scan in the high pharynx resilience in the patients with obstructive sleep apnea/hypopnea syndrome.
METHOD:
Fifty patients with OSAHS and 10 patients with pharyngeal paraesthesia were included in the study. 320 slice CT scan was used to measure the sagittal diameters, transverse diameters and sectional area of the retropalatal region, retroglossal region. Calculating the pharynx wall resilience. Analyzing the correlativity of pharynx wall resilience, BMI and AHI. Fiber endoscope was used to assess the subsidence percentage of the pharynx wall.
RESULT:
Between OSAHS patients and pharyngeal paraesthesia patients, there was obviously difference in the retropalatal region and retroglossal region upper airway. The pharynx wall resiliences of retropalatal region were much more than that of retroglossal region. The later pharynx wall resiliences were much more than the fore-to-aft pharynx wall resiliences in the retropalatal region. BMI, AHI and the pharynx wall resilience were positive correlative to each other. But AHI and the pharynx wall resilience was nonlinear correlative. There was a good concordance between the pharynx wall resilience detected by 320CT and subsidence percentage of the pharynx wall detected by fiber endoscope.
CONCLUSION
320 slice CT is a kind of simple, rapid and objective method to localize the high resilience area of upper respiratory tract, which can be benefit to the clinical diagnosis, the etiological study and the treatment of OSAHS. Based on physical examination, we propose that only one time of CT scan to the patients' upper airway at the Muller' stage is enough to localize the stenosis area, which can reduce radiation dosage dramatically.

Chinese Journal of Radiology 2010;44(2):172-175
Objective To explore the MRI appearances of type Ⅴ bone contusion of knee, and explore the diagnostic value and clinical significance of MRI. Methods A retrospective review of 1672 consecutive MRI examinations of acutely injured knees was performed to screen patients with type Ⅴ bone contusion. The MRI findings of them were analyzed by two musculoskeletal radiologists. Results The type Ⅴ bone contusion of knee was found in 43 (2.6%)patients, involving both the inferomedial patella and the anterolateral femoral condyle. Bone contusion was defined as low signal on T_1WI, intermediate or slight hypointense signal on T_2WI,and high signal intensity on fat saturation PDWI, which could be easily detected on axial, sagittal or coronal MR images. Other concomitant specific MR findings included fracture in 9 patients, chondral injury in 29 patients, and lateral patellar subluxation or complete dislocation in 27 patients. Injury of the medial retinaculum was diagnosed and classified in 37 cases, which could be observed best on axial images. Conclusions MRI was accurate in detecting the type Ⅴ bone contusion and that is very helpful for diagnosis and treatment of transient lateral patellar dislocation, and should be used as a routine examination for knee trauma. Axial MR examination should be performed to evaluated the medial patellar retinaculum injury when type Ⅴ bone contusion was found.
