Objective To observe therapeutic effects of hollow compressive screws coupled with HBO on femoral neck fracture in young patients. Methods Fifty-six cases of young aduhs with femoral neck fracture were selected for the study. Of all the cases, 35 were treated with hollow compressive screws coupled with HBO (the HBO group), 21 cases were treated only with hollow compressive screws for fixture, without HBO therapy (the surgical group). Then, comparisons were made between the 2 groups for short, mid and long term effects and complications as well. Results No significant differences could be seen in near-term therapeutic effects and complications in both groups (P>0.05). However, regarding mid and long term effects and complications occurred after surgery, the HBO group is obviously superior to those of the surgical group. Statistical significances were noted between the 2 groups (P<0.05). Conclusions Closed replacement, hollow compressive screw fixture coupled with HBO seem to produce good mid and long term therapeutic effects on femoral neck fracture and on the reduction of occurrence in bone necrosis, as well as complications occurred in young patients.
