Objective To investigate the population density and seasonal fluctuations of Aedes albopictus in Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, from 2021 to 2023, so as to provide insights into A. albopictus control and management of dengue fever. Methods The surveillance of A. albopictus density was performed in all surveillance sites assigned across all streets (townships) in Guangzhou City during the period from January to December from 2021 to 2023. The surveillance frequency was twice every half month from May to September, and once every month for the rest of a year. In each surveillance period, A. albopictus mosquito larvae were captured from indoor and outdoor small water containers in residential areas, parks, medical facilities, schools, other government sectors and social organizations, construction sites, special industries and others for mosquito species identification. Adult mosquitoes were captured using electric mosquito suction apparatus for species identification and gender classification. Adult mosquitoes and mosquito eggs were collected with mosquito and egg traps at the breeding and dwelling places of Aedes mosquitoes for identification. The mosquito oviposition index (MOI), Breteau index (BI), adult mosquito density index (ADI) and standard space index (SSI) were calculated. The A. albopictus density was classified into grades 0, 1, 2 and 3 in each surveillance site, with Grade 0 density defined eligible, and the eligible rate of A. albopictus density was calculated at all surveillance sites each year from 2021 to 2023. In addition, the changing trends in MOI, SSI, BI and ADI of A. albopictus were analyzed in Guangzhou City from 2021 to 2023. Results The eligible rates of A. albopictus density were 61.69%, 68.75% and 55.15% in surveillance sites of Guangzhou City from 2021 to 2023 (χ2 = 297.712, P < 0.001), and appeared a tendency towards a reduction followed by a rise each year, which gradually reduced since January, maintained at a low level during the period between May and October, and gradually increased from November to December. The MOI, SSI, BI and ADI of A. albopictus all appeared a tendency towards a rise followed by a reduction in Guangzhou City during the period between January and December from 2021 to 2023. The BI of A. albopictus peaked in the first half of June in 2021 (4.03), the first half of July in 2022 (3.89) and the last half of August in 2023 (5.02), and the SSI of A. albopictus peaked in the last half of June in 2021 (0.93), the last half of May in 2022 (0.59), and the last half of June (0.94) and the first half of September in 2023 (1.12). In addition, the MOI of A. albopictus peaked in the first half of May in 2021 (8.64), the first half of June in 2022 (8.96), and the last half of May (10.21) and the last half of June in 2023 (10.89), and the ADI of A. albopictus peaked in the first half of June in 2021 (3.41), the last half of June in 2022 (4.06), and the first half of July in 2023 (3.61). Conclusions The density of A. albopictus is high in Guangzhou City during the period from May to October, and the risk of local outbreak caused by imported dengue fever is high. Persistent intensified surveillance of the density and seasonal fluctuation of A. albopictus is recommended and timely mosquito prevention and control is required according to the fluctuation in the A. albopictus density.

Journal of Central South University(Medical Sciences) 2025;50(4):694-705
OBJECTIVES:
The 24-hour movement behaviors, comprising physical activity, sedentary behavior, and sleep, are crucial factors affecting children's mental health. This study aims to explore the longitudinal association between 24-hour movement behaviors and psychological well-being in overweight and obese children, providing empirical evidence for mental health promotion in this population.
METHODS:
A total of 445 overweight and obese children were recruited via stratified cluster random sampling from a provincial capital city in China and followed up for one year. Measures included objectively assessed physical activity and sleep duration using triaxial accelerometers (ActiGraph GT3X+), parent-reported sedentary screen-based time (SST), and self-reported psychological well-being.
RESULTS:
After one year, the proportion of children meeting all 3 movement guidelines increased from 10.11% to 11.68%, while those meeting none increased from 11.24% to 15.06%. After adjusting for relevant covariates, children who met individual guidelines for moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA) (β=0.377, 95% CI 0.209 to 0.545), sleep (β=0.187, 95% CI 0.042 to 0.332), or guideline combinations of MVPA+SST (β=0.545, 95% CI 0.377 to 0.713) and MVPA+sleep (β=0.602, 95% CI 0.449 to 0.755) showed significant improvements in psychological well-being after one year. Additionally, an increase in the number of guidelines met was significantly associated with improved well-being (β=0.113, 95% CI 0.011 to 0.214).
CONCLUSIONS
Adherence to any single movement guideline, especially MVPA or sleep, and combinations such as MVPA+SST or MVPA+sleep is significantly associated with enhanced psychological well-being in overweight and obese children. Integrated behaviors may be an effective strategy to improve mental well-being in this population.

Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B 2025;15(5):2673-2686
The αPD-L1 antibody-based immune checkpoint blockade therapy is still limited by the poor clinical response rate as it is mainly utilized to block surface PD-L1 on tumor cells while ignoring abundant PD-L1 exosomes secreted in the environment, causing tumor immune evasion. Here, we proposed an exosome biogenesis inhibition strategy to suppress tumor exosomes secretion from the source, reducing the inhibitory effect on T cells and enhancing chemo-immunotherapy efficacy. We developed sulfafurazole homodimers (SAS) with disulfide linkages, effectively releasing the drug in response to glutathione (GSH) and inhibiting 4T1 tumor-derived exosomes secretion. Subsequently, gemcitabine (Gem) was encapsulated to induce immunogenic cell death (ICD). Consequently, Gem@SAS inhibited the secretion of tumor exosomes by more than 70%, increased proliferation and granzyme B secretion ability of T cells by more than 2 times, and showed superior efficacy in breast cancer treatment as well as lung metastasis of breast cancer.

Objective:To compare the clinical efficacy and safety of minocycline in the treatment of macrolide-resistant Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia (MRMP) in children of different age groups. Methods:The clinical data of MRMP cases treated with minocycline hydrochloride capsules in the Department of Infectious Diseases of Shanghai Children′s Medical Center Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine from June 2023 to June 2024 were collected through the hospital′s electronic medical record system. This study used a retrospective cohort study. According to the age of onset, they were divided into two groups: children <8 year-old-group and those ≥8 year-old-group. The indicators including the duration of temperature after medication, the recovery time of serum amyloid A (SAA) and C-reactive protein (CRP) were compared between the two groups. The adverse reactions during hospitalization and follow-up of six months after discharge were analyed. Non-parametric rank sum test was used for statistical comparison. Results:A total of 274 MRMP cases were included, including 151 in the <8-year-old group and 123 in the ≥8-year-old group. After minocycline hydrochloride capsule treatment, the duration of fever in the ≥8-year-old group was 1.5(1.0, 2.0) d, which was shorter than 2.0(1.0, 2.0) d in the <8-year-old group. The difference was statistically significant ( Z=-2.02, P=0.044). The recovery time for SAA (3.0(2.0, 6.0) d vs 5.0(3.0, 6.0) d) and CRP (3.0(2.0, 5.0) d vs 4.0(3.0, 6.0) d) in the <8-year-old group were both shorter than those in the ≥ 8-year-old group, and the differences were both statistically significant ( Z=-2.62, P=0.009 and Z=-3.10, P=0.002, respectively). During hospitalization, there were two cases of nausea, four cases of vomiting, one case of abdominal pain, with no rash, dizziness and tetracycline teeth in the <8-year-old group, and the incidence of adverse reactions was 4.6%(7/151). In the ≥8-year-old group, there were one case of nausea, one case of vomiting, one case of rash, one case of dizziness, with no abdominal pain and tetracycline teeth, and the incidence of adverse reactions was 3.3%(4/123). There were 253 cases of follow-up, of which 148 cases (58.5%) did not re-examine because of the normal blood routine at the last time during hospitalization, 105 cases (41.5%) re-examined blood routine, and the results were all normal. Twenty-five cases were normal in liver and kidney functions. Some children under six years old who did not change permanent teeth failed to clarify the impact of minocycline on teeth due to the short follow-up time. The total effective rate of minocycline in the two groups was consistent, both was 100.00%. Conclusions:Minocycline has a good clinical efficacy for MRMP. The total effective rate of clinical treatment for MRMP in children <8 years old and ≥8 years is consistent, with fewer adverse reactions and good safety. The impact on the teeth of children under six years old who have not replaced their deciduous teeth with permanent teeth requires further observation.

Lung transplantation is the ultimate therapeutic option for end-stage pulmonary diseases such as interstitial pneumonia, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and pneumoconiosis. Currently, the shortage of allogeneic lung donors significantly limits the opportunity for end-stage lung disease patients to receive lung transplantation. In recent years, with the rapid development of biomedical engineering technologies, especially the major breakthroughs in genetic modification and cloning, xenogeneic lung transplantation has shown important potential for clinical translation. Among them, genetically modified pigs have become the most promising xenogeneic lung source due to the close similarity of organ size and physiological characteristics to humans, and the ability to perform targeted gene knockouts (such as α-Gal antigen knockout) to reduce the occurrence of hyperacute rejection. This article focuses on the research progress of porcine xenogeneic lung transplantation, systematically reviews the latest achievements and challenges in animal experiments and human trials, and introduces the technical experience accumulated by Shenzhen Third People's Hospital in the porcine-to-monkey xenogeneic lung transplantation model, in the hope of providing practical references for future research in this field.
