Chinese Journal of Medical Imaging 2025;33(7):780-784
Purpose To investigate the impact of patient positioning deviation on CT image quality and radiation dose in chest CT scans.Materials and Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on all patients who underwent chest high-resolution CT plain scans from January 22 to 26,2024,at the Second Affiliated Hospital,Zhejiang University School of Medicine. The distance between the gantry center and patient center was measured.Patients were divided into three groups based on the magnitude of deviation from the isocenter:negative deviation group, isocenter group and positive deviation group.Compared the signal to noise ratio(SNR),CT dose index volume(CTDIvol),dose length product(DLP)and SNR/CTDI distribution among the three patient groups. Results Among the 965 patients studied,29.95%(289 cases)were accurately positioned, while 70.05%(676 cases)deviated from the center. The frequency of positive deviation(31.81%,307/965)was lower than that of negative deviation(38.24%,369/965).Compared with the isocenter group, patients in the negative deviation group received higher CTDIvol and DLP but superior SNR,while those in the positive deviation group received lower CTDIvol and DLP with inferior SNR(H=213.783,187.595,59.247,all P<0.05).The SNR/CTDI ratio in the isocenter group 0.84(0.50)was significantly higher than that in the negative deviation group 0.72(0.54)and the positive deviation group 0.71(0.38)(H=13.257,P<0.05).There was a significant association between gender and deviation direction.Patients with higher body weight and taller stature, particularly male patients, demonstrated negative deviation, while those with lower body weight and shorter stature tended to positive deviation. Conclusion Accurate positioning in chest CT scans can ensure diagnostic accuracy while minimizing radiation exposure and achieving the best image quality-to-radiation dose ratio. However,as a population-based preliminary study, the findings should be complemented by phantom experiments to further validate the correlation between anthropometric parameters and positional deviations in clinical CT practice.

OBJECTIVE:
To explore the pain-location interaction between pressure-sensitive points on the body surface and traditional acupoints in patients with chronic non-specific low back pain (CNLBP) under different disease courses, using Euclidean distance and multivariate statistical analysis.
METHODS:
A pressure-sensitive point detection was performed on 30 CNLBP patients with varying disease courses. A constant pressure was applied using an FDK20 algometer within a designated lumbar area, a total of 50 points were tested, and the tested points were numbered; the visual analogue scale (VAS) pain score was recorded simultaneously. MatlabR2022a9.12. software was used to extract the positions of pressure-sensitive points, and preprocessing and normalization of point location and VAS scores data were conducted. Under constraint conditions (VAS≥8.0 ∩ Euclidean distance to acupoint≤0.5), the proportion of pressure-sensitive points within the Euclidean distance threshold to each acupoint (PVDacupoint) was calculated, followed by multivariate statistical analysis.
RESULTS:
①Constrained analysis of PVDacupoint showed that PVDQihaishu (BL24) and PVDDachangshu (BL25) were positively correlated with disease course (r=0.55, P<0.01). ②Factor analysis and silhouette analysis revealed that PVDShenshu (BL23) and PVDDachangshu (BL25) exhibited trends consistent with disease course progression (P>0.05), with different degree (P<0.01).
CONCLUSION
The PVDacupoint value based on Euclidean distance can characterize the pressure sensitivity features of traditional acupoints associated with disease. Multivariate statistical analysis of PVDacupoint confirms that selecting the acupoint combination of Shenshu (BL23) and Dachangshu (BL25) for CNLBP is associated with the distribution of surrounding pressure-sensitive points and the pathological characteristics of the condition.

Lateral epicondylitis is a common clinical disease with characteristics of lateral elbow pain, insidious onset and easy recurrence, which can cause forearm pain and decreased wrist strength, seriously affecting patients′ daily life and work. Although there are various treatment methods for lateral epicondylitis with different effects, standard treatments are still lacking nowadays. Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) has good effects on bone and tendon repair, and is now widely used in the treatment of lateral epicondylitis. However, there is a lack of a unified understanding of the technology and specifications of PRP in the treatment of lateral epicondylitis. Therefore, the Sports Medicine Branch of the Chinese Medical Association and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Branch of the Chinese Medical Association organized experts in the fields of sports medicine and rehabilitation medicine in China to formulate the "clinical expert consensus on platelet-rich plasma treatment for lateral epicondylitis (2022 version)", and proposed suggestions based on evidence-based medicine mainly from the concept, epidemiology and pathophysiology of lateral epicondylitis, symptoms, signs and imaging manifestations of lateral epicondylitis, PRP concept and application component requirements, quality control of PRP preparation technology, indications and contraindications of PRP in the treatment of lateral epicondylitis, PRP injection in the treatment of lateral epicondylitis, application of PRP in the operation of lateral epicondylitis, related problems after PRP treatment of lateral epicondylitis, evaluation of the results after PRP treatment of lateral epicondylitis, and health and economic evaluation of PRP treatment of lateral epicondylitis, so as to provide guidance for clinical diagnosis and treatment.

ObjectiveTo explore the underlying mechanism of Bushen Huatan prescription in alleviating postmenopausal osteoporosis (PMOP) by maintaining the balance of osteogenesis and adipogenic differentiation in ovariectomized rats with osteoporosis. MethodSeventy-five 6-month-old non-pregnant female SD rats were randomly divided into sham-operation group, model group, atorvastatin group, liviol group, and Bushen Huatan prescription group. Bilateral ovaries were removed in the four groups except the sham-operation group, while only the same mass of adipose tissue around the ovaries was removed in the sham-operation group. On the 5th week after surgery, drugs were consecutively administrated for 8 weeks. Rats in the Bushen Huatan prescription group received 9.4 mg·kg-1 of the prescription, rats in the atorvastatin group received 0.92 mg·kg-1 of atorvastatin, rats in the Liviol group received 0.23 mg·kg-1 of liviol, and rats in the model group and the sham-operation group received saline once a day. Micro-computed tomography (Micro CT) was used to detect bone mineral density (BMD) of rat tibia in each group. Hematoxylin-eosin (HE) staining was used to detect the relative area of rat bone marrow adipose tissue (BMAT) in each group. Real-time fluorescence quantitative polymerase chain reaction (Real-time PCR) and Western blot were used to detect the relative expression levels of Runt-related transcription factor 2 (Runx2), peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor (PPARγ), leptin (LPN), and leptin receptor (OBR) in bone tissues. ResultAs compared with the sham operation group, the BMD of rats in the model group decreased (P<0.05), while the relative area of BMAT increased (P<0.05). In addition, the expression levels of LPN, OBR, and Runx2 decreased in the model group (P<0.05), while the level of PPARγ increased (P<0.05). As compared with the model group, the BMD of rats in the atorvastatin group, the Livial group, and the Bushen Huatan prescription group increased (P<0.05), and the relative area of BMAT decreased (P<0.05). The expression levels of LPN, OBR, and Runx2 in these groups increased (P<0.05), while the expression level of PPARγ decreased (P<0.05). ConclusionBushen Huatan prescription plays the anti-osteoporosis role in the rat model of PMOP through up-regulating LPN and OBR in bone tissues and maintaining the balance of osteogenesis and adipogenic differentiation, thereby reducing postmenopausal bone loss and playing a role in the prevention and treatment of PMOP.

Journal of Stroke 2020;22(1):76-86
Background:
and Purpose Patients with aortic disease might have an increased risk of intracranial aneurysm (IA). We conducted this research to assess the prevalence of IA in patients with aortopathy, considering the impact of gender, age, and cardiovascular risk factors.
Methods:
We searched PubMed and Scopus from inception to August 2019 for epidemiological studies reporting the prevalence of IA in patients with aortopathy. Random-effect meta-analyses were performed to calculate the overall prevalence, and the effect of risk factors on the prevalence was also evaluated. Anatomical location of IAs in patients suffered from distinct aortic disease was extracted and further analyzed.
Results:
Thirteen cross-sectional studies involving 4,041 participants were included in this systematic review. We reported an estimated prevalence of 12% (95% confidence interval [CI], 9% to 14%) of IA in patients with aortopathy. The pooled prevalence of IA in patients with bicuspid aortic valve, coarctation of the aorta, aortic aneurysm, and aortic dissection was 8% (95% CI, 6% to 10%), 10% (95% CI, 7% to 14%), 12% (95% CI, 9% to 15%), and 23% (95% CI, 12% to 34%), respectively. Gender (female) and smoking are risk factors related to an increased risk of IA. The anatomical distribution of IAs was heterogeneously between participants with different aortic disease.
Conclusions
According to current epidemiological evidence, the prevalence of IA in patients with aortic disease is quadrupled compared to that in the general population, which suggests that an early IA screening should be considered among patients with aortic disease for timely diagnosis and treatment of IA.
