1.Inheritance and Current Research Status of Major Spleen-Stomach Theories in Traditional Chinese Medicine

This paper systematically reviews the core concepts and lines of theoretical inheritance of major spleen-stomach theories in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), including spleen deficiency theory, spleen-stomach damp-heat theory, and liver-spleen disharmony theory. It is found that these theories have all undergone a developmental trajectory characterized by classical foundation, refinement of therapeutic methods, systematization of pathogenesis, and modern innovation. The evolution of spleen-stomach theory has achieved a shift from a singular focus on tonifying the spleen to regulating dynamic middle-jiao (焦) balance, and from localized spleen-stomach regulation to the circular movement of qi involving all five zang organs. In terms of modern disease-syndrome integrative research, spleen deficiency syndrome is shown to be closely associated with impairment of the gastrointestinal mucosal barrier, metabolic disorders, and gene polymorphisms related to Helicobacter pylori-associated gastric diseases. Spleen-stomach damp-heat syndrome is closely linked to hyperactive energy metabolism, inflammatory cytokines, and abnormal expression of aquaporins. Liver-spleen disharmony syndrome is mainly associated with dysregulation of the brain-gut axis and microbiota-related metabolic disorders. It is proposed that future research on spleen-stomach diseases and syndromes should further elucidate their potential multidimensional differential biological characteristics, thereby promoting the modernization of the TCM discipline of spleen-stomach studies.
2.Network analysis of mental vulnerability, cognitive emotion regulation strategies and positive psychological capital among medical postgraduates

Objective:
To explore the interrelationships between mental vulnerability, cognitive emotion regulation strategies, and positive psychological capital in medical postgraduates, so as to provide precise intervention targets for mental health services in universities.
Methods:
From April to June 2025, a convenience sampling method was used to select 1 461 medical postgraduates from three colleges in Hubei Province. Participants were assessed using the Mental Vulnerability Questionnaire (MVQ), the Cognitive Emotion Regulation Questionnaire-Chinese Version (CERQ-C) and the Positive Psychological Capital Questionnaire (PPQ). The network analysis model was constructed using a Gaussian graphical model.
Results:
The network analysis revealed that the edge connection between somatic symptoms and mental symptoms was the strongest, followed by the connection between refocus on planning and positive reappraisal within cognitive emotion regulation, with edge weights of 0.69 and 0.59, respectively. Interpersonal problems within psychological vulnerability exhibited the highest expected influence( EI =1.27), serving as the core node of the network. Rumination within cognitive emotion regulation demonstrated the highest bridge expected influence( BEI =0.33), playing a critical connecting role among psychological vulnerability, cognitive emotion regulation, and positive psychological capital.
Conclusion
In the mental health network of medical postgraduates, mental vulnerability, cognitive emotion regulation, and positive psychological capital interact through their respective key dimensions, jointly affect overall mental health.
3.Mechanism of mesenchymal stromal cells reversing fibrosis of the uterine endometrium after injury

To investigate the effect of mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) on the fibrosis progression and endometrial regeneration in mouse models of endometrial injury, a mouse endometrial injury model was established by physical scraping combined with lipopolysaccharide (LPS) chemical induction, and the endometrium morphology and collagen deposition were evaluated by HE and Masson staining after unilateral administration of MSCs. RT-qPCR and immunofluorescence were used to detect the expression of epithelial markers Epcam and collagen I (Col1). Primary endometrial epithelial cells were isolated to assess p21 expression. Fibrosis-related genes and signaling pathways were validated using transcriptome sequencing and RT-qPCR. The experimental results showed that MSCs increased endometrial thickness and number of glands (P<0.05), up-regulated the expression of Epcam (P<0.01), while significantly reducing uterine collagen fiber deposition (P<0.05) and the expression of p21 in primary epithelial cells (P<0.0001). Transcriptomic analysis revealed that MSCs attenuated collagen deposition by modulating genes involved in the TGF-β signaling pathway. This study elucidates that MSCs facilitate uterine repair by reversing endometrial fibrosis and promoting epithelial regeneration, and their role is related to the regulation of the TGF-β/SMAD pathway and suppression of aberrant collagen accumulation.
4.The impact of ultrasound intervention combined with tripterygium for chocolate cyst on the ovarian function of patients

Objective To investigate the impact of ultrasound intervention combined with tripterygium for ovarian endometriosis cyst(OEC)on the ovarian function of patients.Methods The clinical data of 107 patients with clinically-conformed OEC,who received treatment at the Yuyao Municipal People's Hospital of China from December 2022 to June 2024,were retrospectively analyzed.According to different treatment methods,the patients were divided into control group(n=53)and observation group(n=54).The patients of control group were treated with laparoscopic cystectomy,while the patients of observation group were treated with ultrasound intervention combined with tripterygium therapy.The uterine artery blood flow parameters,sex hormone levels,tumor marker levels,ovarian reserve function were compared between the two groups.Results After treatment,uterine artery blood flow parameters were decreased in both groups,the levels of uterine artery blood flow parameters in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.05);the levels of sex hormones were elevated in both groups,the levels of sex hormones in the observation group were obviously higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).After treatment,the tumor-related indicators generally decreased,especially in the observation group receiving combination therapy,the levels of tumor-related indicators were significantly lower than those in the control group receiving simple surgical treatment(P<0.05),indicating that the therapeutic effect of the observation group was better than that of the control group.After treatment,the ovarian reserve function of both groups were increased when compared with their preoperative values,and the ovarian reserve function of the observation group was higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion In treating OEC patients,ultrasound intervention combined with tripterygium can regulate the levels of sex hormones,reduce tumor marker levels,improve local uterine blood flow status,and protect ovarian reserve function.This therapy is worth promoting and applying in clinical practice.
5.Effect of transcutaneous electrical acupoint stimulation on postoperative muscle atrophy in patients with foot and ankle fracture: A randomized controlled pilot study

ObjectiveTo evaluate the efficacy and safety of transcutaneous electrical acupoint stimulation (TEAS) for muscle atrophy in patients with immobilization after surgical fixation of foot and ankle fractures.MethodsThis was a two-arm randomized controlled trial wherein 80 patients were recruited and divided into control (n = 40) and intervention (n = 40) groups. The control group received conventional orthopedic treatment, whereas the intervention group received TEAS and conventional treatment. The intervention group received TEAS 3 times a week for 30 min each time for 8 weeks. The primary outcomes were muscle thickness (MT) and cross-sectional area (CSA) of the rectus femoris and gastrocnemius muscles, whereas the secondary outcome measure was echo intensity (EI). Data were collected before the fixation operations (baseline assessment) and 4 and 8 weeks after intervention.ResultsCompared with baseline, the MT and CSA were reduced in both groups by the end of treatment, whereas EI increased in both groups. At week 4, the reduction in the rectus femoris CSA in the intervention group was significantly lower than that in the control group (P = .02); however, the between-group differences in the MT and EI (all P .05) were not significant. No serious adverse events were observed in either group.ConclusionOur study showed that TEAS can improve muscle atrophy by attenuating the decline in the muscle CSA. Because this was only a pilot trial, subsequent studies will need longer follow-ups and larger sample sizes.
6.Associations between traditional Chinese medicine constitution and depression/anxiety/sleep disturbances in patients with chronic pain: A cross-sectional study

ObjectiveTo investigate the relationship between the composition of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and depression/anxiety/sleep disturbances (D/A/S) in patients with chronic pain.MethodsThis cross-sectional study was conducted at 13 tertiary hospitals across China, enrolling patients who experienced chronic pain between November 2023 and May 2024. The Patient Health Questionnaire-9, Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7, Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, and TCM constitution categories were used to assess the patients. The association between the TCM constitution and the D/A/S ratio was analyzed using multivariable logistic regression.ResultsA total of 1107 patients (63.2% women) were analyzed. Compared with those with a balanced constitution, patients who had qi-deficiency and yin-deficiency were at a higher risk of depression. Qi-deficiency and yin-deficiency were associated with anxiety. Sleep disturbances were common in patients with qi-deficiency constitution (odds ratio [OR]: 2.32, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.42–3.81), yang-deficiency constitution (OR: 1.94, 95% CI: 1.26–2.98), yin-deficiency constitution (OR: 2.03, 95% CI: 1.24–3.32), blood stasis constitution (OR: 2.07, 95% CI: 1.01–4.22), and qi-stagnation constitution (OR: 2.66, 95% CI: 1.35–5.25).ConclusionIn patients with chronic pain, specific TCM constitutions may be associated with D/A/S. Further longitudinal studies are needed to clarify the potential causal relationships between TCM constitution types and these conditions.
7.A multicenter study evaluating the efficacy of bronchial artery chemoembolization combined with anlotinib for advanced non-small cell lung cancer

Objective:To compare the clinical efficacy and safety of bronchial artery chemoembolization (BACE) combined with anlotinib (BACE+A) versus BACE alone in patients with stage III-IV non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).Methods:A total of 94 patients with advanced NSCLC treated at six interventional centers between November 2020 and November 2021 were retrospectively enrolled. Patients were divided into the BACE+A group ( n=46) and the BACE alone group ( n=48) based on treatment regimen. Baseline and perioperative clinical data were collected and compared between the two groups. Treatment response was evaluated using the modified Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors (mRECIST) at 1, 6, and 12 months after the first BACE procedure. Objective response rate (ORR), disease control rate (DCR), progression-free survival (PFS), overall survival (OS), and treatment-related adverse events (AEs) were recorded. Kaplan-Meier survival curves were plotted to compare median OS and PFS between groups. Cox proportional hazards regression analysis was used to identify factors influencing OS and PFS. Results:The Kaplan-Meier analysis showed that the median OS was significantly longer in the BACE+A group (18.8 months, 95% CI 16.3-21.3) than in the BACE group (13.4 months, 95% CI 11.6-15.2) ( P=0.001). The median PFS was also significantly longer in the BACE+A group (9.0 months, 95% CI 7.3-10.7) compared to the BACE group (6.1 months, 95% CI 4.9-7.3) ( P=0.001). At 6 and 12 months post-first BACE, the ORR (43.5%, 40.0%) and DCR (89.1%, 83.3%) were significantly higher in the BACE+A group than in the BACE group (ORR: 20.8%, 14.8%; DCR: 66.7%, 59.3%) (all P<0.05). Multivariate Cox regression identified treatment with BACE+A ( HR=0.42, 95% CI 0.27-0.72, P=0.002), tumor stage ( HR=1.80, 95% CI 1.05-3.07, P=0.031), presence of pre-existing complications requiring intervention ( HR=2.72, 95% CI 1.65-4.50, P<0.001), and >2 BACE procedures ( HR=0.32, 95% CI 0.15-0.68, P=0.003) as independent factors influencing OS. Treatment with BACE+A ( HR=0.49, 95% CI 0.32-0.76, P=0.001), tumor stage ( HR=1.72, 95% CI 1.07-2.77, P=0.025), multi-arterial tumor blood supply ( HR=2.76, 95% CI 1.76-4.31, P<0.001), and>2 BACE procedures ( HR=0.40, 95% CI 0.22-0.71, P=0.002) were independent factors influencing PFS. There was no significant difference in BACE-related adverse events between the two groups (all P>0.05). Hypertension, fatigue, hand-foot syndrome, and anorexia were common anlotinib-specific adverse reactions in the combination group, but no grade 4 or higher adverse reactions were observed. Conclusions:BACE combined with anlotinib demonstrates superior efficacy compared to BACE alone in treating advanced NSCLC, significantly prolonging OS and PFS. The safety profile is manageable, with adverse events remaining within tolerable limits.
8.Efficacy of modified single-port thoracoscopic sympathectomy combined with disconnection ventilation in the treatment of primary palmar hyperhidrosis

Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy and safety of modified single-port thoracoscopic sympathectomy combined with disconnection ventilation in the treatment of primary palmar hyperhidrosis(PPH).Methods The perioperative indexes,clinical efficacy and postoperative complications of 20 patients with PPH who underwent modified single-port thoracoscopic sympathectomy combined with disconnection ventilation in Wuming Hospital of Guangxi Medical University from June 2020 to July 2024 were retrospectively analyzed.Results All patients successfully completed the operation without serious complications and death.The average operation time was(56.15±16.00)min,and the average intraoperative blood loss was(3.35±1.39)ml.The treatment effective rate was 100%,the average postoperative hospitalization time was(2.15±0.86)days,and the average hospitalization cost was(9485.56±1601.77)yuan.During the follow-up period of 1 to 45 months,there were no recurrent cases and no obvious cases of compensatory hyperhidrosis.Conclusion The modified single-port thoracoscopic sympathectomy combined with disconnection ventilation has good efficacy and safety in the treatment of PPH.
9.Exploration on the Mechanism of Chaihu Longgu Muli Decoction in the Treatment of Generalized Anxiety Disorder Rats Based on the HPA Axis-MEK/ERK Signaling Pathway

Objective To observe the effects of Chaihu Longgu Muli Decoction on oxidative stress in hippocampus and hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal(HPA)axis hormone levels of rats with generalized anxiety disorder(GAD);To explore its mechanism of alleviating anxiety in GAD rats.Methods A total of 72 Wistar rats were randomly divided into blank group(12 rats)and modeling group(60 rats).Chronic restraint stress was used to establish the GAD model.The successfully modeled rats were randomly divided into model group,diazepam group(1 mg/kg)and TCM low-,medium-and high-dosage groups(Chaihu Longgu Muli Decoction 6,12,24 g/kg).The administration groups were given corresponding drugs by gavage for 14 consecutive days.Open field experiment and elevated cross maze experiment were used to observe indexes in rat behavior,HE staining was used to observe the morphology of hippocampal tissue,ELISA was used to detect the contents of serum corticotropin releasing hormone(CRH),adrenocorticotropic hormone(ACTH)and corticosterone(CORT),biochemical kits were used to detect the contents of malondialdehyde(MDA),catalase(CAT)and superoxide dismutase(SOD)in hippocampal tissue,RT-PCR was used to detect the mRNA expressions of MEK,ERK,Bax and Bcl-2 in hippocampal tissue,Western blot was used to detect the protein expressions of MEK,p-MEK,ERK,p-ERK,Bax and Bcl-2 in hippocampal tissue.Results Compared with the blank group,the rats in the model group had a significantly slower growth rate of body msss,loose stool,dark hair,significant hair removal and extreme agitation;the activity time and distance in the central area were significantly reduced(P<0.01),the percentage of time,frequency and distance of entering the open arm were significantly reduced(P<0.01);with structural degeneration of hippocampal neurons,changes in cell morphology,disordered arrangement and edema of surrounding tissues;the contents of serum CRH,ACTH and CORT significantly increased(P<0.01);the MDA content in hippocampal tissue significantly increased(P<0.01),CAT and SOD contents significantly decreased(P<0.01),p-MEK and p-ERK protein expressions significantly decreased(P<0.01),Bax mRNA and protein expressions significantly increased(P<0.01),Bcl-2 mRNA and protein expressions significantly decreased(P<0.01).Compared with the model group,the body mass growth rate of diazepam group and each dosage of TCM group increased,and the symptoms of loose stool,hair removal,anxiety and huddling were improved;the activity time and distance in the central area of rats in the diazepam group and TCM medium-and high-dosage groups significantly increased(P<0.01),and the percentage of time,frequency and distance of entering the open arm significantly increased(P<0.05,P<0.01);the contents of serum CRH,ACTH and CORT significantly decreased(P<0.05,P<0.01);the MDA content in the hippocampal tissue in diazepam group and TCM high-dosage group significantly decreased(P<0.01),while the CAT and SOD contents significantly increased(P<0.05,P<0.01),the protein expressions of p-MEK and p-ERK in hippocampal tissue in diazepam group and TCM medium-and high-dosage group significantly decreased(P<0.01),Bax mRNA and protein expressions were significantly decreased(P<0.01),and Bcl-2 mRNA and protein expressions significantly increased(P<0.05,P<0.01).There was no statistical significance in the expressions of MEK,ERK mRNA and protein among the groups(P>0.05).Conclusion Chaihu Longgu Muli Decoction can alleviate anxiety in GAD rats by inhibiting HPA axis hormone release and MEK/ERK signaling pathway activation,improving neuroendocrine levels,and reducing hippocampal oxidative stress response.
10.Pharmacokinetic study of 3 blood-absorbed components of Xiangshao sanjie oral liquid in rats with hyperplasia of mammary gland

OBJECTIVE To explore the pharmacokinetic characteristics of 3 blood-absorbed components of Xiangshao sanjie oral liquid in rats with hyperplasia of mammary gland (HMG). METHODS Female SD rats were divided into control group and HMG group according to body weight, with 6 rats in each group. The HMG group was given estrogen+progesterone to construct HMG model. After modeling, two groups were given 1.485 g/kg of Xiangshao sanjie oral liquid (calculated by crude drug) intragastrically, once a day, for 7 consecutive days. Blood samples were collected before the first administration (0 h), and at 5, 15, 30 minutes and 1, 2, 4, 8, 12, 24 hours after the last administration, respectively. Using chlorzoxazone as the internal standard, the plasma concentrations of ferulic acid, paeoniflorin and rosmarinic acid in rats were detected by UPLC-Q/TOF-MS. The pharmacokinetic parameters [area under the drug time curve (AUC0-24 h, AUC0-∞), mean residence time (MRT0-∞), half-life (t1/2), peak time (tmax), peak concentration (cmax)] were calculated by the non-atrioventricular model using Phoenix WinNonlin 8.1 software. RESULTS Compared with the control group, the AUC0-24 h, AUC0-∞ and cmax of ferulic acid in the HMG group were significantly increased (P<0.05); the AUC0-24 h, AUC0-∞ , MRT0-∞ , t1/2 and cmax of paeoniflorin increased, but there was no significant difference between 2 groups (P>0.05); the AUC0-24 h and MRT0-∞ of rosmarinic acid were significantly increased or prolonged (P<0.05). C ONCLUSIONS In HMG model rats, the exposure of ferulic acid, paeoniflorin and rosmarinic acid in Xiangshao sanjie oral liquid all increase, and the retention time of rosmarinic acid is significantly prolonged.
