By systematically combing ancient and modern literature， this paper examined Tribuli Fructus and Astragali Complanati Semen（ACS） used in the famous classical formulas from the aspects of name， origin， production area， harvesting and processing， clinical efficacy， so as to provide a basis for the development of famous classical formulas containing such medicinal materials. The results showed that the names of Tribuli Fructus in the past dynasties were mostly derived from its morphology， and there were nicknames such as Baijili， Cijili and Dujili. The name of ACS in the past dynasties were mostly originated from its production areas， and there were nicknames such as Baijili， Shayuan Jili and Tongjili. Because both of them had the name of Baijili， confusion began to appear in the Song dynasty. In ancient and modern times， the main origin of Tribuli Fructus were Tribulus terrestris， and ancient literature recorded the genuine producing areas of Tribuli Fructus was Dali in Shaanxi and Tianshui in Gansu， but today it is mainly cultivated in Anhui and Shandong. The fruit is the medicinal part， harvested in autumn throughout history. There is no description of the quality of Tribuli Fructus in ancient times， and the plump， firm texture， grayish-white color is the best in modern times. Traditional processing methods for Tribuli Fructus included stir-frying and wine processing， while modern commonly used is purified， fried and salt-processed. The ancient records of Tribuli Fructus were spicy， bitter， and warm in nature， with modern research adding that it is slightly toxic. The main effects of ancient and modern times include treating wind disorders， improving vision， promoting muscle growth， and treating vitiligo. The mainstream base of ACS used throughout history is Astragalus complanatus. Ancient texts indicated ACS primarily originated from Shaanxi province. Today， the finest varieties come from Tongguan and Dali in Shaanxi. The medicinal part is the seed， traditionally harvested in autumn. Modern harvesting occurs in late autumn or early winter， followed by sun-drying. Ancient texts valued seeds with a fragrant aroma as superior， while modern standards prioritize plump， uniform and free of impurities. Traditional processing methods for ACS included frying until blackened and wine-frying， while modern practice commonly employs purification methods. In terms of medicinal properties， the ancient and modern records are sweet and warm in nature. Due to originally classified under Tribuli Fructus， its effects were thus regarded as equivalent to those of Tribuli Fructus， serving as the medicine for treating wind disorders， additional functions included tonifying the kidneys and treating vitiligo. The present record of its efficacy is to tonify the kidney and promote Yang， solidify sperm and reduce urine， nourish the liver and brighten the eye， etc. Based on the textual research results， it is suggested that when developing the famous classical formulas of Tribuli Fructus medicinal materials， we should pay attention to the specific reference object of Baijili， T. terrestris and A. complanatus should be identified and selected， and the processing method should be in accordance with the requirements of the formulas.

Dura mater is a tough collagen connective tissue attached to inner surface of skull and wrapped around brain.As a buffer bridge between brain tissue and skull,its physiological function and role in skull development and repair have always been a focus of research.Recent studies have found that dura mater not only directly participates in skull development during skull growth,but also secretes a variety of cytokines that control the development of central nervous system.There are abundant material exchange and cell communication between the two.This article reviews the role of dura in development and repair of skull,and provides clues for further discovery of the relevant mechanisms of dura in development and repair of skull.

Objective To explore the clinical efficacy of staged surgery for non-lactating mastitis. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on 317 patients with non-lactating mastitis admitted to our department from January 2015 to December 2020, all of whom underwent staged surgical treatment. The recovery time, recurrence rate, and breast appearance score were observed. Results The median follow-up time was 24(17，33) months, the recovery time was (25.5±17.9) days, and the recurrence rate was 4.4%. There were 96.2% of patients satisfied with the breast appearance. Conclusions Staged surgery for non-lactating mastitis can effectively shorten the course of the disease, protect the appearance of breast, and have good clinical efficacy.

Ulcerative colitis （UC） is a chronic non-specific digestive disease with abdominal pain， diarrhea， and blood and mucus in stool as the main clinical manifestations and inflammatory injury of colorectal mucosa and submucosa as the main pathological changes. With the change in living habits and dietary structure of people， the incidence and cancer morbidity in UC are rising rapidly all over the world， which has seriously reduced the quality of life and caused a huge social burden. Till now， the pathogenesis has not been elucidated. In western medicine， aminosalicylates， corticosteroids， and immunosuppressors are commonly used to relieve symptoms. However， the long-term application will lead to problems such as decreased efficacy and increased adverse reactions. There are more studies of traditional Chinese medicine （TCM） in the treatment of UC by reducing the inflammatory response， alleviating oxidative stress， protecting the intestinal mucosal barrier， and regulating intestinal microecological imbalance by virtue of the advantages of integrated regulation based on multiple links， levels， and targets. In view of this， the present study reviewed the effect and mechanism of active ingredients of TCM， TCM extracts， TCM pairs， classic TCM compounds， and TCM combined with chemical agents in the treatment of UC based on relevant research articles in recent 10 years to provide references for seeking effective drugs.

Objective:To establish the quality evaluation method of Astmgali Radix based on three-dimensional fluorescence spectroscopy. Methods:The three-dimensional fluorescence spectra of Astmgali Radix extract was measured by fluorescence spectrum analysis technology, and the characteristics of fluorescence components of three-dimensional fluorescence spectrum of Astmgali Radix were analyzed by parallel factor analysis. The three-dimensional fluorescence spectra of Astmgali Radix samples from 23 different places were measured for quality discriminant analysis. Results:After the optimization, the three-dimensional fluorescence spectrum of 80% ethanol extract of Astmgali Radix showed that three groups of characteristic excitation/emission (λex/λem) peak, which located at 305 nm/420 nm (Peak 1), 280 nm/315 nm (Peak 2) and 265 nm/475 nm (Peak 3), respectively. The results of parallel factor analysis showed that Peak 1 and Peak 3 both contained one isoflavones fluorescent component, and Peak 2 contained two amino acid fluorescent components. There were differences in the number of characteristic peaks and fluorescence intensity of three-dimensional fluorescence spectra of Astmgali Radix samples from different origins. Conclusion:The three-dimensional fluorescence spectrum could evaluate the consistency of Astmgali Radix from different places. The method is simple, fast, and efficient. This method is accurate, which could provide reference for the quality evaluation of Astmgali Radix.

Senescence of activated hepatic stellate cells (aHSCs) is a stable growth arrest that is implicated in liver fibrosis regression. Senescent cells often accompanied by a multi-faceted senescence-associated secretory phenotype (SASP). But little is known about how alanine-serine-cysteine transporter type-2 (ASCT2), a high affinity glutamine transporter, affects HSC senescence and SASP during liver fibrosis. Here, we identified ASCT2 is mainly elevated in aHSCs and positively correlated with liver fibrosis in human and mouse fibrotic livers. We first discovered ASCT2 inhibition induced HSCs to senescence in vitro and in vivo. The proinflammatory SASP were restricted by ASCT2 inhibition at senescence initiation to prevent paracrine migration. Mechanically, ASCT2 was a direct target of glutaminolysis-dependent proinflammatory SASP, interfering IL-1α/NF-κB feedback loop via interacting with precursor IL-1α at Lys82. From a translational perspective, atractylenolide III is identified as ASCT2 inhibitor through directly bound to Asn230 of ASCT2. The presence of -OH group in atractylenolide III is suggested to be favorable for the inhibition of ASCT2. Importantly, atractylenolide III could be utilized to treat liver fibrosis mice. Taken together, ASCT2 controlled HSC senescence while modifying the proinflammatory SASP. Targeting ASCT2 by atractylenolide III could be a therapeutic candidate for liver fibrosis.

Objective To study the killing effect of γδT cells on different tumor cells by inducing and expanding γδT cells in vitro.Methods Collected the peripheral venous blood of 20 healthy volunteers recruited at Xinqiao Hospital of Third Military Medical University from January to March 2018.Peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) were induced and expanded using zoledronic acid combined with interleukin-2 (IL-2) to obtain γδT cells.The cell purity was detected on day 0,7,10,14 and 16 using flow cytometry.The killing activity was detected by CCK-8 kit.Cells cultured on the 14th day were used as effector cells,and breast cancer cell BCap-37 and liver cancer cell Bel-7402 were used as target cells,and the cell killing activity was detected at the effective target ratio (E ∶ T) of 5 ∶ 1,10 ∶ 1 and 20 ∶ 1 respectively.Results The purity of γδT cells were respectively (3.35 ± 1.32) ％,(50.76 ± 5.76) ％,(80.43 ± 4.53) ％,(90.56 ± 3.34) ％,(89.54 ± 4.42) ％ on day 0,7,10,14,16,with significant difference (F =18.431,P =0.012).The efficiency of γδT cells killing BCap-37 tumor cells were (31.3 ± 2.0) ％ (E ∶ T =5 ∶ 1),(48.7 ± 1.6) ％(E ∶T=10∶1),(71.3 ±2.4)％ (E ∶T=20 ∶ 1) respectively,with significant difference (F=16.724,P =0.016),further comparison between each two groups:10 ∶ 1 vs.5 ∶ 1 (P =0.013),20 ∶ 1 vs.5 ∶ 1 (P =0.017),20∶1 vs.10 ∶1 (P =0.011).The killing rate increased with the increase of target ratio.The efficiency of γδT cells killing Bel-7402 tumor cells were (34.5 ± 2.0) ％ (E ∶ T =5 ∶ 1),(52.4 ± 1.9) ％(E ∶ T =10 ∶ 1),(74.5 ± 1.6) ％ (E ∶ T =20 ∶ 1) respectively,with significant difference (F =18.253,P=0.013),further comparison between each two groups:10 ∶ 1 vs.5 ∶ 1 (P=0.015),20 ∶ 1 vs.5 ∶ 1 (P=0.012),20 ∶ 1 vs.10 ∶ 1 (P =0.015).The killing rate increased with the increase of target ratio.Conclusion We can obtain high purity γδT cells using zoledronic acid combined with IL-2 induced PBMCs,and the amplified γδT cells have significant killing effect on BCap-37 and Bel-7402 tumor cells.

The hydrogen sulfate plays an important role in biological and environmental areas and can contaminate the environment, which will cause harm to human body.Thus it is of primary importance to detect hydrogen sulfate with high selectivity and sensitivity.Among these methods for detection of hydrogen sulfate, the optical chemosensor based on molecular recognition is desirable with unique advantage.Anions optical sensing systems are predominantly attractive due to their simplicity, high degree of specificity, low detection limits, easy on-line analysis and especial colorimetric recognition and in situ detection.Herein, the progress during the last decades of optical chemosensors and probes for hydrogen sulfate based on the recognizing mechanism is summarized.The further research orientations are also prospected.

BACKGROUND:Some studies have focused on bone marrow mesenchymalstem cells (BMSCs) combined with allograft bone or artificial bone substitute materials for bonedefect repair. But there is no report on BMSCs combined with Bio-oss for repair of rabbit skull defects as yet.OBJECTIVE:To observe the effect ofBMSCs combined with Bio-oss in repairing skull defects in rabbits.METHODS:BMSCs from male rabbits were isolated, cultured, and used as seed cells. In the skull of the female rabbits,three full-thickness bone defects with the same external diameter of 6 mm were made by a ring bone drill. Ninety-six female rabbits were randomly divided into four groups, and given Bio-oss/BMSCs in combination group, Bio-oss alone in Bio-oss group, BMSCs implantation in BMSCs group, and no intervention in blank group. All the implant surfaces were covered with guided tissue regeneration membrane.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:The osteogenic effect in the combination group was better than that in the other three groups, and the Bio-oss group showed better osteogenesis in comparison with BMSCs and blank groups. But there was no significant difference between the BMSCs and blank groups. These findings indicate that the combined use of BMSCs as seed cells and Bio-oss as a scaffold material exerts overt osteogenic effects in rabbit skull defect area, which provides a new idea for the clinical treatment of bone defects.

BACKGROUND:Studiesin vitro have suggested that icarin can attenuate lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced acute pneumonia. Is the anti-inflammatory effect of icarin stil valid in the presence of wear particles? OBJECTIVE:With studiesin vivo andin vitro, to investigate the regulatory effect of icarrin on titanium particle-induced inflammatory reaction. METHODS:(1) Studiesin vivo: Eighty male C57BL/6 mice aged 6-8 weeks were randomly divided into four groups: control group, icarin group, titanium particle group, and titanium particle+icarin group. Mice in the titanium particle group and titanium particle+icarin group received surgical procedure, and sterile and endotoxin-free titanium particles were implanted on the calvaria surfaces to induce inflammatory reaction. Mice in the control group and icarin group received the same surgery, but no wear particles were implanted. Then icarin was given oraly to mice in the titanium particle group and titanium particle+ icarin group with a dose of 200 mg/kg per day for 2 weeks from the day of modeling. Mice in the control group and icarin group were given oraly the same dose of placebo. Two weeks later, tumor necrosis factor-α and interleukin-1β at protein and mRNA levels were respectively detected with enzyme-linked immunohistochemical (ELISA) and quantitative real time reverse transcription PCR (qRT-PCR) analysis. (2) Studiesin vitro: Mouse monocyte/macrophage RAW264.7 cels were cultured with different conditioned media: control group, nuclear factor receptor ligand кB (RANKL); icarin group, RANKL+icarin; titanium particle group, RANKL+titanium particles; titanium particle+icarrin group, RANKL+icarin+titanium particles. Titanium particles stimulated RAW264.7 cels were co-cultured with RANKL and icarin for 72 hours. Tumor necrosis factor-α and interleukin-1β at protein and mRNA levels in the supernatant were detected with ELISA analysis and qRT-PCR, respectively. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: (1) Resultsin vivo: icarin treatment obviously decreased titanium particle-induced inflammatory cellinfiltration and made the thickness of periosteum thinner, down-regulated tumor necrosis factor-α and interleukin-1β expressions at protein and mRNA levels. (2) Results in vitro: when RAW264.7 cels were stimulated with titanium particles for 72 hours, tumor necrosis factor-α and interleukin-1β expressions at protein and mRNA levels in culture media increased obviously; when icarin was administrated, tumor necrosis factor-α and interleukin-1βexpressions at protein and mRNA levels down-regulated significantly. These results suggest icarin can obviously suppress titanium particle-induced inflammatory reactionin vivo andin vitro.
