Objective: To explore the potential causal association between adolescent compulsive behaviour and smartphone addiction based on longitudinal data, so as to provide reference for the establishment of adolescent smartphone addiction interventions. Methods: A preliminary survey and follow-up were conducted on 8 907 middle and high school students in a district of Shenzhen in 2022 and 2023, respectively. Compulsive behaviours were measured by using the Mental Health Inventory for Middle School Students-60 Items (MMHI-60), smartphone addiction was assessed by using the Smartphone Addiction Scale-Short Version ( SAS- SV), and the associations between compulsive behaviours and smartphone addiction were analysed by using multilevel mixed-effects models and subgroup analyses. Results: Smartphone addiction detection rates among middle school students were significantly associated with genders, father s education level, mother s education level, study load subgroups, and whether or not they were single-parent families, and there were statistical differences ( χ 2=17.21-175.34, P <0.05). Students with compulsive behaviours were 2.98 times more likely to develop smartphone addiction than those without compulsive behaviours ( OR=2.98, 95%CI=2.77-3.22, P <0.05). Subgroup analysis of middle school students without smartphone addiction in the first year found that compulsive behaviours significantly predicted smartphone addiction ( OR= 1.76 , 95%CI=1.54-2.01, P <0.05). Conclusion There is a potential causal association between obsessive-compulsive behaviours and smartphone addiction in middle school students, and obsessive-compulsive behaviours in middle school students could significantly predicted the occurrence of smartphone addiction.

Clinical practice guidelines represent the best recommendations for patient care. They are developed through systematically reviewing currently available clinical evidence and weighing the relative benefits and risks of various interventions. However, clinical practice guidelines have to go through a long translation cycle from development and revision to clinical promotion and application, facing problems such as scattered distribution, high duplication rate, and low actual utilization. At present, the clinical practice guideline information platform can directly or indirectly solve the problems related to the lengthy revision cycles, decentralized dissemination and limited application of clinical practice guidelines. Therefore, this paper systematically examines different types of clinical practice guideline information platforms and investigates their corresponding challenges and emerging trends in platform design, data integration, and practical implementation, with the aim of clarifying the current status of this field and providing valuable reference for future research on clinical practice guideline information platforms.

Objective:To evaluate the effectiveness of amplification intervention with hearing aids for restoring binaural auditory function in patients with unilateral moderate to severe sensorineural hearing loss. Methods:This study selected 30 patients with normal hearing in one ear and moderate to severe sensorineural hearing loss in the other ear. They were fitted with hearing aids for the worse ear and underwent more than half a year and one year of adaptation training. The Chinese translation of the Twelve-item version of SSQ（C-SSQ12）, angle identification test, speech recognition score（SRS） at different signal-to-noise ratios（SNR=5 and SNR=10） and audiometric thresholds were used to compare the results before and after hearing aid use to evaluate the effectiveness of the unilateral hearing loss intervention. Results:The results of the audiometric thresholds, C-SSQ12 scores, angle identification test, and SRS at SNR=5 and SNR=10 in the worse ear of the unilateral hearing loss patients after hearing aid use were all statistically significant compared to before hearing aid use（P<0.01）. Conclusion:Amplification intervention with hearing aids has significant effects on restoring binaural auditory function in patients with unilateral moderate to severe sensorineural hearing loss.

Ulcerative colitis (UC) is a chronic and non-specific inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Huanglian Ganjiang decoction (HGD), derived from ancient book Beiji Qianjin Yao Fang, has demonstrated efficacy in treating UC patients traditionally. Previous research established that the compatibility of cold herb Coptidis Rhizoma + Phellodendri Chinensis Cortex (CP) and hot herb Angelicae Sinensis Radix + Zingiberis Rhizoma (AZ) in HGD synergistically improved colitis mice. This study investigated the compatibility mechanisms through which CP and AZ regulated inflammatory balance in colitis mice. The experimental colitis model was established by administering 3% dextran sulphate sodium (DSS) to mice for 7 days, followed by CP, AZ and CPAZ treatment for an additional 7 days. M1/M2 macrophage polarization levels, glucose metabolites levels and pyruvate dehydrogenase kinase 4 (PDK4) expression were analyzed using flow cytometry, Western blot, immunofluorescence and targeted glucose metabolomics. The findings indicated that CP inhibited M1 macrophage polarization, decreased inflammatory metabolites associated with tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle, and suppressed PDK4 expression and pyruvate dehydrogenase (PDH) (Ser-293) phosphorylation level. AZ enhanced M2 macrophage polarization, increased lactate axis metabolite lactate levels, and upregulated PDK4 expression and PDH (Ser-293) phosphorylation level. TCA cycle blocker AG-221 and adeno-associated virus (AAV)-PDK4 partially negated CP's inhibition of M1 macrophage polarization. Lactate axis antagonist oxamate and PDK4 inhibitor dichloroacetate (DCA) partially reduced AZ's activation of M2 macrophage polarization. In conclusion, the compatibility of CP and AZ synergistically alleviated colitis in mice through M1/M2 macrophage polarization balance via PDK4-mediated glucose metabolism reprogramming. Specifically, CP reduced M1 macrophage polarization by restoration of TCA cycle via PDK4 inhibition, while AZ increased M2 macrophage polarization through activation of PDK4/lactate axis.

This article focuses on the clinical need for curative interventions in chronic diseases.It proposes an inte-grated medical framework that combines"quantum prediction,prevention and control through Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine,and stem cell repair"and details its path to clinical application.To address the complex,multi-target pathology of diseases like diabetes,this research integrates multiple disciplines:stem cell technology,the holistic philosophy of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM),the evidence-based rigor of Western Medicine,and the cutting-edge concepts of quantum biology.The goal is to create a new diagnostic and therapeutic model that syn-thesizes disease and syndrome classification while bridging macro and micro perspectives,ultimately driving break-throughs in chronic disease management.Theoretically,the study proposes a strategy to rejuvenate cells and remodel the microenvironment using pluripotent stem cells combined with synergistic TCM-Western Medicine approaches.Practically,it establishes a seamless system—from molecular early-warning and dynamic prevention to tissue re-pair—supported by standardized protocols,preclinical validation,multi-center clinical trials,and an intelligent health management platform.

Objective:To investigate the relationship between protein-energy wasting (PEW) and parathyroid hormone (PTH) levels in patients undergoing maintenance hemodialysis.Methods:A cross-sectional study was conducted to enroll 150 adult patients undergoing maintenance hemodialysis at The Third Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical University from January 2022 to May 2023. These patients were categorized into four groups based on their PTH levels: low PTH group (< 150 ng/L), standard PTH group (150-300 ng/L), very high PTH group (300-600 ng/L), and extreme high PTH group (> 600 ng/L). The diagnosis of PEW was determined using the diagnostic criteria proposed by the International Society of Renal Nutrition and Metabolism (ISRNM). Logistic regression analysis was performed to investigate the association between PEW and PTH levels.Results:Among the 150 patients undergoing maintenance dialysis, 52 (34.7%) were diagnosed with PEW. The prevalence of PEW was significantly higher in the low PTH group compared with the standard, very high, and extreme high PTH groups ( χ2 = 20.64, all P < 0.05). Univariate logistic regression analysis revealed a strong association between low PTH levels ( OR = 13.810, 95% CI: 2.907-65.603, P = 0.001) and an increased risk of PEW. The risk of PEW in the low PTH group was 13.810 times higher than that in the extreme high PTH group. Multivariate logistic regression analysis further confirmed that low PTH levels ( OR = 19.891, 95% CI: 1.810-218.620, P = 0.014) and low C-reactive protein levels ( OR = 1.056, 95% CI: 1.015-1.099, P = 0.007) were independently associated with an increased risk of PEW. Higher hemoglobin levels ( OR = 0.959, 95% CI: 0.931-0.988, P = 0.005) and a larger middle upper arm circumference ( OR = 0.544, 95% CI: 0.338-0.875, P = 0.012) were independently associated with a reduced risk of PEW. The risk of PEW in the low PTH group was 19.891 times higher than that in the extreme high PTH group. However, there was no significant difference in the risk of PEW in the standard and very high PTH groups compared with the extreme high PTH group (both P > 0.05). Conclusion:The risk of PEW is markedly elevated in patients with low PTH levels, emphasizing the importance of clinical attention to the prevention and treatment of low PTH levels. Addressing this issue may hold great value in reducing the risk of PEW.

Objectives:To analyze the consistency of evaluating left ventricular hemodynamics (HDF) based on single plane and multi plane cine sequences of magnetic resonance mitral valve orifice.Methods:A prospective study was conducted on 48 healthy adults, and two methods were used to measure the mitral valve diameter and calculate HDF parameters. The first method was to measure the diameter of the mitral valve opening in the left ventricular three chamber cine sequence; The second method is to measure the mitral valve diameter using cine sequences of two chamber, three chamber, and four chamber hearts, and then take the average value. Paired t-tests were used to compare the differences in HDF measured by two methods, and Pearson correlation coefficient ( r), intra group correlation coefficient ( ICC), and Bland-Altman analysis were used to test the consistency and reproducibility of the two methods. Results:The root mean square (RMS) of longitudinal HDF calculated using single plane and multi plane mitral valve diameters were [(17.28±4.41)% vs (17.21±4.61)%] ( P=0.379) for the entire cardiac cycle, [(21.45±5.54)% vs (21.49±5.68)%] ( P=0.646) for systolic phase, and [(12.78±4.10)% vs (12.54±4.24)%] ( P=0.106) for diastolic phase, respectively. The difference in the calculation results of HDF parameters related to ventricular function was not statistically significant (all P>0.05), and there was good consistency ( r=0.924-0.996, ICC=0.924-0.995). The two HDF parameters related to atrial function were sensitive to the measurement method of mitral valve orifice diameter [RMS of longitudinal HDF during active atrial emptying: (3.26±1.51)% vs (3.32±1.55)%, P=0.006; longitudinal HDF pulse during active atrial emptying: (-2.60±1.28)% vs (-2.76±1.30)%, P<0.001]. Conclusions:The ventricular function related HDF parameters obtained from the analysis of mitral valve orifice diameter using single plane and multi plane methods have good consistency, and can be evaluated using relatively simple single plane methods for left ventricular HDF.

Objective To summarize the research status and hotspots of Wumei Pills;To provide ideas and methods for the follow-up research of Wumei Pills.Methods Related literature about Wumei Pills was retrieved from CNKI,VIP,Wanfang Data and CBM from the establishment of the databases to January 12,2023.The publication time,author,author unit and keywords were collected and extracted through NoteExpress 3.0 software to manage bibliographic data.VOSviewer 1.6.18 software was used to conduct co-occurrence and clustering analysis,and construct keyword time superposition network.Results After screening,a total of 2 105 articles were included,involving 3 554 authors,such as Yan Shuguang,Fan Heng,and Hui Yi.They were from 1 135 units,such as Dongzhimen Hospital of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine,Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Beijing University of Chinese Medicine.The included articles contained 2 565 keywords,which appeared 7 061 times,and the research involved 4 main directions:digestive system diseases(ulcerative colitis),study on TCM classics(Shang Han Za Bing Lun),medical cases and experience,and biliary ascariasis.The hotspots of Wumei Pills were scattered in recent years.Six meridian disease to appear,opening and closing pivots,intestinal microbiota,serum inflammatory factors and insomnia were research hotspots in recent 3 years.Conclusion The research of Wumei Pills mainly focus on the research of digestive system diseases,TCM classics,medical cases and experience,and biliary ascariasis.Theoretical research of TCM and mechanism research possibly become new hotspots of this field.

Objective To investigate the correlation between clinical characteristics of self-limited epilepsy in children with spines in the central temporal region(SeLECTS)and plasma levels of ammonia,25-hydroxyvitamin D[25(OH)D].Methods A total of 90 SeLECTS children admitted to Suzhou Hospital Affiliated to Anhui Medical University from September 2021 to October 2023 were selected as the case group,and 90 healthy children were included in the control group during the same period.The differences in plasma ammonia and serum 25(OH)D levels between the two groups were compared.The correlation between clinical characteristics of SeLECTS and plasma levels of ammonia,25(OH)D was retrospectively analyzed.Results Plasma ammonia concentration in case group was significantly higher than that in control group(P＜0.05).The level of 25(OH)D was significantly lower than that of control group(P＜0.05).There were statistically significant differences in plasma ammonia concentration among patients with different age,duration and frequency of SeLECTS(P＜0.05).There were statistically significant differences in serum 25(OH)D content among children with different age,frequency and season of SeLECTS(P＜0.05).The correlation between onset time,onset age and onset frequency was significant at 0.01 level.The correlation between plasma ammonia concentration and age of onset,time of onset and frequency of onset was significant at 0.05 level.At the same time,the correlation between 25(OH)D content and seizure time,seizure frequency and plasma ammonia concentration was significant at 0.05 level.The age of onset,frequency and duration of attacks were positively correlated with plasma ammonia levels of SeLECTS.Age of onset was positively correlated with 25(OH)D level,and frequency of onset was negatively correlated with 25(OH)D level.Conclusion SeLECTS attacks are significantly correlated with plasma ammonia and serum 25(OH)D levels,and both elevated plasma ammonia levels and decreased 25(OH)D levels increase the risk of SeLECTS attacks.Therefore,detection of plasma ammonia and serum 25(OH)D levels in children can provide evidence for prevention,disease assessment,diagnosis and treatment of SeLECTS.

Background and Objective Accurate diagnosis of mucous cystic lesion(PCL)remains a clinical difficult.Both Carcinoembryonic antigen(CEA)and glucose(GLU)are reported to have ability to distinguish mucinous PCL from non-mucinous PCL,but the accuracy was limited.The objective of this study was to evaluate the value of cystic CEA combined with GLU in the diagnosis of mucinous PCL.Methods PCL patients who underwent pancreatic surgery and endoscopic ultrasonography guided fine-needle aspiration(EUS-FNA)were retrospectively collected from the First Affiliated Hospital of Naval Medical University.Clinical data and cystic fluid analysis of included PCLs patients were analyzed using receiver operator(ROC)curves.ROC analysis,sensitivity and specificity analyses were used to evaluate the value of CEA combined with GLU in the diagnosis of mucinous PCL.Results From January 2015 to December 2021,a total of 84 patients underwent cyst fluid CEA and GLU analysis,of whom 44(52.4％)had mucinous PCL and 40(47.6％)had non-mucinous PCL.The AUC for distinguishing mucinous from non-mucinous PCL by CEA was 0.82[(95％confidence interval(CI):0.72-0.92)].When 192 ng/mL was used as the cutoff level,the diagnostic sensitivity and specificity were 50％and 93％,respectively.Using 20 ng/mL as cutoff level,the diagnostic sensitivity increased to 80％and the specificity decreased to 68％.The AUC for the cystic GLU to distinguish mucinous from non-mucinous PCL was 0.73(95％CI:0.99-0.87),and the diagnostic sensitivity and specificity were 100％and 60％,respectively.When the cutoff level of CEA was 192 ng/mL,the AUC of CEA combined with GLU in the diagnosis of mucinous PCLs was 0.94(95％Cl:0.86-0.99),while when the cutoff level of CEA was 20 ng/mL,the AUC of CEA combined with Glu in the diagnosis of mucinous PCLs was 0.94(95％CI:0.85-0.99).The AUCs were significantly higher than the AUC with single diagnostic indicators.Conclusion When using the cutoff level of 192 ng/mL,cyst fluid CEA combined with GLU has high sensitivity and specificity in differentiating mucinous PCL from non-mucinous PCL,so it can be considered for clinical application.Lower CEA cutoff level(20 ng/mL)can improve the sensitivity of diagnosis.
