1.Different frequencies of electrical stimulation promote recovery from peripheral nerve injury

BACKGROUND:Electrical stimulation is an effective treatment plan for peripheral nerve injuries,but different frequencies of electrical stimulation have different mechanisms and applications for promoting peripheral nerve recovery.OBJECTIVE:To systematically sort out and summarize the roles and applications of different frequencies of electrical stimulation in the treatment of peripheral nerve injuries,and to deeply analyze the advantages and disadvantages of various methods in order to find the most beneficial treatment strategy for patients'nerve recovery.METHODS:Computer-based searches were conducted in the China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI)and PubMed databases from the inception of the databases to May 2024.The search terms included"peripheral nerve injury,electrical stimulation,low frequency electrical stimulation,medium frequency electrical stimulation,high frequency electrical stimulation,TENS,interfering electricity,short wave,ultrashort wave,frequency"in both English and Chinese.Ultimately,74 relevant documents were included for analysis.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Peripheral nerve injury,a common clinical disease,can cause sensory and motor dysfunction in patients.Low-frequency electrical stimulation can promote cell proliferation and accelerate the expression of nerve growth factor within the cell after electrical stimulation,promote macrophage recruitment and infiltration,accelerate the clearance of myelin debris,and promote myelin regeneration of damaged axons.Medium-frequency electrical stimulation can act on deeper tissues and is better for relieving neuropathic pain.High-frequency electrical stimulation can promote the proliferation of Schwann cells and macrophages,inhibit inflammatory factors,and rapidly recruit cells to the site of nerve injury,accelerating the speed of nerve repair.Different frequencies of electrical stimulation have their own advantages in promoting the recovery of peripheral nerve injuries,but there are still some issues,such as differences in the site of electrical stimulation and the treatment plans for various disease types.
2.Treatment of Narcolepsy from the Perspective of Shaoyin Disease

This article introduced clinical experience in treating narcolepsy from the perspective of Shaoyin disease.Narcolepsy is a sleep disorder characterized by excessive daytime sleepiness,cataplexy and nocturnal sleep disturbances.The outline syndrome of Shaoyin disease with"constant desire to sleep"is highly similar to the manifestations of narcolepsy.Additionally,the core pathogenesis of narcolepsy involves Shaoyin heart-kidney yang deficiency,and the time when Shaoyin disease is about to be resolved coincides with the change time of narcolepsy.Based on the above,narcolepsy can be treated from Shaoyin disease.Mahuang Fuzi Gancao Decoction or Mahuang Xixin Fuzi Decoction can be selected to treat the disease.When treating clinical cases,it is necessary to adhere to the standards of original prescriptions:first,comply with the compatibility and dosage of the original prescriptions;second,Ephedrae Herba,Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata and Asari Radix et Rhizoma need to be decocted first without the lid and remove the foam;the third is to take medicine after breakfast and lunch to avoid affecting sleep at night.
3.Correlation between bedtime screen use behavior and sleep health among fourth and fifth grade primary school students

Objective:
To investigate the association between bedtime screen use and sleep health among fourth and fifthgrade primary school students, so as to provide evidence to support interventions for improving sleep quality.
Methods:
From April to June 2024, a survey was conducted among 4 232 fourth and fifthgrade students from nine primary schools in a district of Beijing. A selfdesigned questionnaire assessed bedtime screen use behavior and sleep health indicators. Generalized linear models and Logistic regression were used to analyze the associations.
Results:
Among the surveyed students, 28.3% reported bedtime screen use. Mean sleep duration every day was (9.31±0.90) hours on school days and (10.08±1.36) hours on weekends. Compared to nonusers, students with bedtime screen use exhibited every day: later bedtimes on school days (10.18 min delay, 95%CI=6.88-13.47) and weekends (22.09 min delay, 95%CI=17.33-26.85) (P<0.05); later weekend wake times (7.97 min delay, 95%CI=1.78-14.16, P<0.05); reduced sleep duration on school days (-9.82 min, 95%CI=-13.62 to -6.03) and weekends (-14.12 min, 95%CI=-20.24 to -8.00) (P<0.05); greater weekend-school day bedtime discrepancy (β=1.15, 95%CI=1.08-1.23, P<0.01). Additionally, they had lower odds of falling asleep within 20 minutes (OR=0.62, 95%CI=0.54-0.72), daytime alertness (OR=0.66, 95%CI=0.56-0.77), and subjective sleep satisfaction (OR=0.57, 95%CI=0.49-0.66)(P<0.01).
Conclusions
Bedtime screen use is associated with adverse effects on multiple dimensions of sleep health in primary school students. Reducing screen exposure before bed may help improve their sleep quality.
4.Preliminary development of Health Literacy Evaluation Scale for Chinese High School Students

Objective:
To develop a health literacy evaluation scale for Chinese high school students, providing a tool for dynamic monitoring of health literacy among high school students and evaluating the effectiveness of health school construction.
Methods:
Through theoretical research, an evaluation index system for health literacy of Chinese high school students was constructed. Two rounds of Delphi expert consultations were conducted to quantitatively screen the items, and the item pool was revised based on expert opinions to compile the health literacy evaluation scale for Chinese students. Two focus group interviews were held to collect suggestions from health educators, high school teachers, and high school students regarding optimized scale length, question types, difficulty and wording of the scale. The scale was revised accordingly. A pilot survey was conducted in Beijing and Tianjin in November 2024, and the reliability and validity of the scale were evaluated based on the pilot survey data.
Results:
The response rate in both rounds of Delphi expert consultations was over 80%, and the expert authority coefficient was over 0.70. The expert opinions were highly concentrated, and the dispersion was small. The revised item pool based on expert opinions contained 39 items. The revised scale based on the suggestions and opinions collected from the focus group interviews had a moderate number of questions and difficulty level. The pilot survey obtained 800 valid responses, with the response rate of 89.39%. The Cronbach α coefficient of the scale was 0.911, χ 2/df =3.321, the root mean square error of approximation was 0.054, the adjusted goodness-of-fit index was 0.991 , and the factor loadings of some items were less than 0.40.
Conclusion
The health literacy evaluation scale for Chinese high school students demonstrates scientific rigor and practical applicability, with good internal consistency and structural validity.
5.Study on nonlinear spatiotemporal response characteristics of acupoint electrical signals to multi-mode acupuncture and moxibustion stimulation based on array multichannel data.

OBJECTIVE:
To elucidate the rules of temporal and spatial variations in distal skin potential at Hegu (LI4) under different stimulation modes by extracting nonlinear characteristic parameters from array multichannel data and adopting multivariate statistical analysis.
METHODS:
Seven healthy subjects were selected and the surface potential at the left Quchi (LI11) was collected using 14×9 array multichannel electrodes. Using Hegu (LI4) on the left as the stimulation point, four stimulation modes were applied, i.e. being quiescent, point pressing, moxibustion, and manual needling manipulation. Electrical signals were collected for 30 s in each mode, with a 5-min interval between operations, and a sampling frequency of 16 384 Hz. The data was denoised using ensemble empirical mode decomposition (EEMD), and sample entropy (SaEn) features were extracted. Statistical analysis was conducted on these data using factor analysis and multivariate analysis of variance.
RESULTS:
The SaEn values of most electrode channels were higher under point pressing, moxibustion and manual needling manipulation compared with those under quiescent condition. Under manual needling manipulation, the SaEn value of the electrode channel reached the peak in the first time interval (1-5 s) and it was declining thereafter. Factor analysis showed that the specificity of activation channels was concentrated at the left Quchi (LI11) (loading capacity ≥0.90). Analysis of variance indicated that the significant differences were presented in average sample entropy (SaEn()) values of activation channels among different stimulation modes at Hegu (LI4) (P<0.001), but there was no statistically significant interaction effect between groups and time intervals (P>0.05).
CONCLUSION
Through nonlinear characteristic parameter extraction and multivariate statistical analysis, we have uncovered the complex temporal and spatial dynamical rules of distal skin potential at Hegu (LI4) under various stimulation modes and successfully identified the specific activation characteristics at Quchi (LI11).

6.Preliminary development with reliability and validity testing of health literacy assessment scale for junior high school students

Objective:
To develop and validate a health literacy assessment scale for junior high school students, providing an effective tool for evaluating and monitoring health literacy among Chinese adolescents.
Methods:
Based on school health education policy documents, a health literacy assessment framework was constructed, comprising five horizontal and four vertical dimensions. From May to June and August to September in 2024, the framework was refined through Delphi expert consultations and focus group discussions, leading to the development of the Health Literacy Assessment Scale for Junior High School Students. In September 2024, a convenience sample of 625 students from three junior high schools in Beijing and Tianjin completed the questionnaire. Item analysis, reliability, and validity tests were conducted to evaluate the scale.
Results:
The recovery rate for two rounds of expert consultation questionnaires was 100%. The expert authority coefficients ( Cr ) were 0.86 and 0.87 respectively (both >0.70), with Kendall W values of 0.34 and 0.27 ( P <0.05). The focus group discussions followed a rigorous structure, and after multiple rounds of item screening and revision, the version 3.0 of the junior high school students health literacy assessment scale was developed, comprising 57 items. Three items that failed to meet the comprehensive screening criteria were preliminarily removed, and the final scale contained 54 items. The scale demonstrated excellent reliability, with an overall Cronbach s α coefficient of 0.92 and split half reliability of 0.93. Confirmatory factor analysis [ χ 2/df =2.094, root mean square error of approximation ( RMSEA )=0.042, comparative fit index ( CFI )=0.911, Tucker Lewis index ( TLI )=0.907] indicated good model fit indices.
Conclusions
The preliminary development of the health literacy assessment scale for junior high school students follows a rigorous item screening process with well designed dimensions, demonstrating good reliability and validity, thus serving as an appropriate evaluation tool for adolescent health literacy.

9.Establishment of a grading model for acute gastric mucosal injury in rats based on cutaneous neurogenic exudation response

Objective The aim of this study was to establish an acute gastric mucosal injury(AGMI)rat model induced by hydrochloric acid(HCl)at different concentration gradients and to investigate the effects of intravenous injection of evans blue(EB)at various concentrations and dosages on survival rate and superficial extravasation.Methods(1)Wistar rats were randomly assigned to five weight-based groups:150~180 g,180~200 g,200~250 g,300~400 g,400~500 g.Each group was further subdivided into eight subgroups based on HCl concentration,specifically:0.40,0.45,0.50,0.55,0.60,0.65,0.70 mol/L HCl,along with a control group treated with saline.This result ed in a total of 40 subgroups,with three rats per subgroup,summing up to 120 animals in total.The survival rate of rats 24 hours post-modeling was assessed,and the interaction between body weight and HCl concentration on rat survival was analyzed.Following the establishment of five graded HCl concentrations,gastric mucosal pathological changes were observed microscopically using hematoxylin-eosin staining(HE)staining.(2)From these result,the highest suitable concentration of HCl was selected to prepare the AGMI model.Subsequently,rats were randomly allocated into different groups based on the concentration and dose of EB,specifically:EB 1(0.5%,0.4 mL),EB 2(1%,0.1 mL/100 g),EB 3(1%,0.2 mL/100 g),EB 4(2%,0.1 mL/100 g),EB 5(2%,0.2 mL/100 g),and EB 6(5%,0.1 mL).Each group consisted of five rats,totaling 30 animals.The survival rate and extent of dermal exudation were evaluated 24 hours post-injection of EB.Results(1)Post-modeling symptoms in AGMI rats intensified with increasing concentrations of HCl,with the 24-hour survival rate in all weight groups being 0%for both 0.65 mol/L and 0.70 mol/L HCl.Kaplan-Meier survival curves indicated significant differences in survival rates among rats in different HCl concentration groups(P<0.001).Furthermore,a significant interaction effect between HCl concentration and body weight on rat survival time was observed(P<0.001).The five gradient HCl concentrations established were from 0.40、0.45、0.50、0.55、0.60 mol/L.Histological observations revealed that the degree of inflammatory cell infiltration in the gastric mucosa of AGMI rats escalated with increasing HCl concentrations.(2)AGMI rats prepared with 0.60 mol/L HCl and injected with 5%EB(0.1 mL)had a 24 h survival rate of only 40%.Kaplan-Meier survival curves showed no significant differences in survival rates among AGMI rats under different concentrations and dosages of EB(P>0.05).Analysis of superficial extravasation revealed that skin and eye color were lighter in EB 1 group rats,with fewer extravasation points,while rats in EB 4 and EB 5 groups exhibited more apparent skin color changes and extravasation.One-way ANOVA further confirmed that the number of superficial EB extravasation points in the EB 3,EB 4,and EB 5 groups was significantly higher than that in EB 1 group(P<0.05,P<0.01).Conclusions HCl modeling successfully achieved a setting of multiple precise concentration gradients.Gastric lavage with HCl concentrations ranging from 0.40 mol/L to 0.60 mol/L in rats with a fasting body weight of 180~200 g was used to successfully prepare an AGMI model.Intravenous injection of 2%EB(0.2 mL/100 g)can facilitate the study and analysis of the distribution characteristics of superficial EB extravasation points in AGMI rats over time and as the condition progresses.
10.Analysis of the relevant contents of comprehensive sexual education in the current compulsory education curriculum standards of China

Objective:
To analyze and evaluate the comprehensiveness and reliability of the content related to comprehensive sexuality education in 16 subject curriculum standards in the current compulsory education system, and the feasibility and effectiveness of comprehensive sexuality education teaching practice.
Methods:
Based on the textbook analysis model, a curriculum standard analysis model was established, and the interpretive structure model was used to analyze and evaluate the content related to comprehensive sexual education in the curriculum standards of 16 subjects in the current compulsory education system, including Ethics and Rule of Law, Chinese, History, Mathematics, English, Japanese, Russian, Geography, Science, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Information Technology, Physical Education and Health, Arts, Labor.
Results:
There were 7 subject curriculum standards including Ethics and Rule of Law, Chinese, English, Science, Biology, Information Technology, Physical Education and Health reflecting 5 core concepts and 12 themes of comprehensive sexuality education, and the most frequent core concept was Violence and Staying Safe and the Human Body and Development,as well as the most frequent theme was "Puberty". History, Mathematics, Japanese, Russian, Geography, Physics, Chemistry, Art and Labor didn t include content related to comprehensive sexuality education. The content related to comprehensive sexuality education in the curriculum standard of compulsory education presented three characteristics:it was closely related to the subject content, partial content was consistent with the teaching goal of the subject, and the content depth increased with the growth of grade. The comprehensiveness and reliability of comprehensive sexual education in the current compulsory education curriculum standards of China needed to be improved.
Conclusion
The comprehensiveness, reliability, feasibility and effectiveness of teaching practice of comprehensive sexuality education in 16 subject curriculum standards in the current compulsory education stage need to be improved.
