ObjectiveTo conduct a comparative quality analysis of Inulae Flos， fuzz of Inulae Flos and calyx of Inulae Flos， elucidating the scientific connotation of the "removing calyx" process in the traditional processing of Inulae Flos. MethodsInulae Flos decoction pieces were collected， and the fuzz and calyx of Inulae Flos were prepared according to the experiences of old medicine workers. Subsequently， according to the methods under the "Inulae Flos" item in the 2025 edition of the Pharmacopoeia of the People's Republic of China， the appearance characteristics and thin-layer chromatography（TLC） identification of these samples were tested， and the moisture content， total ash content， extract content were also measured. The characteristic fingerprint patterns of Inulae Flos and fuzz of Inulae Flos were established by high-performance liquid chromatography（HPLC）， followed by similarity evaluation， principal component analysis（PCA）， and partial least squares-discriminant analysis（PLS-DA）. The contents of cryptochlorogenic acid， caffeic acid， 1，3-O-dicaffeoylqunic acid， 1，5-O-dicaffeoylqunic acid， and 1-O-acetyl britannilactone were determined to compare the quality differences of Inulae Flos， fuzz of Inulae Flos， and calyx of Inulae Flos. ResultsThe moisture content of Inulae Flos， fuzz of Inulae Flos， and calyx of Inulae Flos was all<10%. The determination results of total ash content were as follows：Calyx of Inulae Flos>Inulae Flos>fuzz of Inulae Flos， and the determination results of alcohol-soluble extract content were as follows：Fuzz of Inulae Flos>Inulae Flos>calyx of Inulae Flos. HPLC fingerprint patterns of Inulae Flos and fuzz of Inulae Flos were established， and 22 common peaks were identified. The similarity analysis and PCA showed that the overall quality of Inulae Flos and fuzz of Inulae Flos was similar， while the overall quality of calyx of Inulae Flos differed significantly from that of Inulae Flos and fuzz of Inulae Flos. PLS-DA results showed that Inulae Flos， fuzz of Inulae Flos， and calyx of Inulae Flos clustered into distinct groups， indicating significant differences among them. Cryptochlorogenic acid and caffeic acid had relatively high contents in calyx of Inulae Flos， the contents of 1，3-O-dicaffeoylqunic acid and 1，5-O-dicaffeoylqunic acid in Inulae Flos and fuzz of Inulae Flos were higher than those in calyx of Inulae Flos. The order of 1-O-acetyl britannilactone content was determined as follows：fuzz of Inulae Flos>Inulae Flos>calyx of Inulae Flos. ConclusionThe scientific nature of "Removing Calyx" process in the cleansing of Inulae Flos by old medicine workers is demonstrated by the resulting fuzz of Inulae Flos decoction pieces exhibiting enhanced cleanliness and higher content of the index component 1-O-acetyl britannilactone. This study provides a reference basis for further improving and enhancing the processing method and quality control standards of Inulae Flos.

Objective: To develop a 24 hour physical activity index for school aged children, and to analyze the association of 24 hour physical activity index with screening myopia and obesity, so as to provide a more effective assessment tool for student health risk screening. Methods: From April to June 2024, a total of 451 students in Grades 3-4 from two monitored primary schools in Shanghai were selected using stratified cluster random sampling method. Data on eight core indicators, including daily moderate to vigorous physical activity time, total physical activity time, outdoor activity time, screen time, sleep duration, sleep efficiency, social jetlag and daytime sleepiness, were collected through questionnaires and accelerometer monitoring. Each indicator was standardized and synthesized into a 0-80 point school aged children s 24 hour physical activity index. Spearman correlation analysis and t-test were used to assess consistency between questionnaire and accelerometer derived indices. Multivariate Logistic regression was applied to analyze the association of strength of the composite index with single behavior indicators in screening myopia and overweight/obesity. Results: The compliance rates were higher for moderate to vigorous physical activity time and screen time (50.8%, 98.7%), while the compliance rate for outdoor activity time was only 42.6%, and that for sufficient sleep duration was merely 10.2%. There was no significant difference between the total scores derived from the questionnaire and accelerometer methods (45.13±5.83, 45.05±6.87, t=0.29, P >0.05), but they showed a strong positive correlation ( r=0.58, P <0.01). Multivariate Logistic regression revealed that adjusting for individual behaviors such as grade, gender and both parents being myopic, among single behavior indicators of 24 hour physical activity index, only insufficient outdoor activity time was significantly associated with screening myopia among school aged children ( OR=1.50, 95%CI =1.01-2.21); the detection risk of screening myopia and obesity in the low index group were higher than those in the high index group ( OR=2.47, 95%CI =1.02-5.96; OR=16.63,95%CI = 5.99- 46.20) (all P <0.05). Conclusion The developed 24 hour physical activity index for school aged children demonstrates good measurement accuracy and shows stronger associations with screening myopia and obesity than single behavior indicator.

Objective: To explore the latent classes of peer victimization among junior high school students, and to analyze the association between the characteristics of different classes and non suicidal self injury(NSSI) behavior,so as to provide scientific basis for the prevention and intervention of NSSI behavior among junior high school students. Methods: A census method was used to select 19 738 students from 16 junior high schools in a central urban area of Wuhan as research subjects from November to December 2024. The Multidimensional Peer Victimization Scale and a self designed NSSI questionnaire were used to assess peer victimization and NSSI behaviors. Latent profile analysis (LPA) was used to identify latent classes of peer victimization among students by sex. Binary Logistic regression model was used to analyze the association between latent classes of peer victimization and NSSI behavior among junior high school students of different genders. Results: Latent patterns of peer victimization among boys were classified into 4 groups:no victimization group (85.8%, n =8 874), low victimization-verbal type group (6.6%, n =682), low victimization-mixed type group (5.7%, n =587) and high victimization group (1.9%, n =195); girls were classified into 4 groups:no victimization group (87.0%, n =8 179), low victimization group (7.5%, n =702), high victimization-social type group (3.8%, n =360) and high victimization-physical type group (1.7%, n =159). After controlling for only child status, place of residence, parenting style, and self rated family socioeconomic status, binary Logistic regression analysis showed that the risk of NSSI behavior among boys increased sequentially in the low victimization-verbal type group( OR =4.14, 95% CI =3.22-5.31), low victimization-mixed type group ( OR =4.75, 95% CI =3.68-6.13), and high victimization group ( OR =8.26, 95% CI =5.83-11.71) compared to the no victimization group; the risks of NSSI behavior among girls increased sequentially in the low victimization group ( OR =3.06, 95% CI = 2.51-3.72), high victimization-social type group ( OR =4.01, 95% CI =3.13-5.15), and high victimization-physical type group ( OR =6.18, 95% CI =4.38-8.73) compared to the no victimization group (all P <0.05). Conclusions There are gender differences in the latent classes of peer victimization among junior high school students and the risk of NSSI behavior varies across different victimization classes. Targeted prevention and intervention should be implemented based on the gender of junior high school students and the characteristics of peer victimization students experience.

Objective: To analyze the etiological surveillance results of influenza-like illness (ILI) cases in Jiangsu Province, and investigate the distribution characteristics of different influenza virus types, so as to provide the evidence for improving influenza prevention and control measures. Methods: Influenza laboratory testing data for sentinel surveillance of ILI cases in Jiangsu Province from 2019 to 2024 were collected through the China Influenza Surveillance Information System. The positive detection rate of influenza virus was calculated, and descriptive analysis was performed to characterize the distribution of different influenza virus types. Using the farthest neighbor linkage method, influenza virus positive detection rates clustering was analyzed by year and week. Clusters were defined based on inter-cluster distance, and the intensity of the positive detection rate was visualized through color gradients in the clustering heatmap. Results: From 2019 to 2024, a total of 183 878 ILI specimens were collected in Jiangsu Province. Among them, 20 059 specimens tested positive for influenza virus, corresponding to an overall positive detection rate of 10.91%, and an average annual positive detection rate of 10.89%. The primary circulating influenza virus types were influenza A H3N2 subtype, accounting for 40.92%, followed by influenza B Victoria linage at 34.00%, and influenza A H1N1 subtype at 24.80%. Influenza B Yamagata linage was not detected throughout the five-year period. Influenza A H3N2 subtype predominated during two distinct periods: from January to March 2019, and from June 2022 to December 2023. Influenz B Victoria linage was the dominant type from April 2019 to May 2022 and again from January to April 2024. Influenza A H1N1 subtype emerged as the primary type from May to December 2024. Year-based clustering analysis grouped the annual positive detection rates from 2019 to 2024 into three clusters. The closest cluster distance was observed between 2019 and 2024. The highest annual positive detection rate occurred in 2023. Both influenza A H3N2 and H1N1 subtype each formed a single cluster, with their peak positive detection rates also recorded in 2023. Influenza B Victoria lineage was separated into two clusters, with its highest positive detection rate occurring in 2020. Week-based clustering analysis revealed that influenza virus detection was concentrated in weeks 47 to 52 and weeks 1 to 15. More specifically, the positive detection rates for influenza A H3N2 subtype peaked during weeks 30 to 34 and weeks 42 to 52; for influenza A H1N1 subtype, during weeks 9 to 15 and weeks 51 to 52; and for influenza B Victoria lineage, during weeks 1 to 11 and weeks 50 to 52. Conclusions From 2019 to 2024, the average annual positive detection rate of influenza virus in Jiangsu Province remained relatively low. Influenza activity characterized by the alternating circulation of influenza A H1N1 subtype, influenza A H3N2 subtype, and influenza B Victoria linage. It is necessary to maintain the surveillance sensitivity for the influenza B Yamagata lineage.

This article systematically reviews and examines the historical evolution of Bambusae Succus as a medicinal material， covering aspects such as nomenclature， origin， geographical distribution， harvesting and processing methods， quality assessment， therapeutic effects and indications， by consulting ancient herbal texts， medical compendia， and modern literature. The aim is to provide a reference for the development and utilization of famous classical formulas containing this herb. Research indicated that Bambusae Succus was first documented in the Shennong Bencaojing during the Han dynasty， with Zhuli being the standard name used throughout history， alongside aliases like Zhuzhi， Zhuyou and Huoquan. Historically， the primary source of Bambusae Succus has been Phyllostachys nigra var. henonis（Danzhu）， although other species such as Pleioblastus amarus and Bambusa emeiensis have also been used medicinally. Ancient records predominantly noted its origin in Yizhou（present-day Chengdu and surrounding areas in Sichuan） and the Wuling region（between present-day Hunan， Guangdong， Guangxi and Jiangxi provinces）， while contemporary sources are mainly from regions south of the Yangtze River and southwestern China. Traditionally， Bambusae Succus was harvested from bamboo that had grown for exactly one year， today， it can be collected year-round without strict age requirements. Ancient preparation methods included direct fire roasting or dry distillation， whereas modern industrial production employs dry distillation， reflux extraction， and percolation. In terms of quality evaluation， ancient texts considered a sweet taste to be superior， while today， clarity and transparency are prioritized. Historically， Bambusae Succus was characterized as sweet and cold nature， targeting the lung and stomach meridians， with uses evolving from clearing heat and resolving phlegm to nourishing Yin， moistening dryness， and relaxing tendons and unblocking meridians. Modern descriptions classify it as sweet， bitter， and cold in nature， affecting the heart， liver， and lung meridians， with functions including clearing heat， resolving phlegm， and facilitating orifices. It is indicated for conditions such as stroke with phlegm confusion， lung heat with phlegm congestion， convulsions， epilepsy， excessive phlegm in febrile diseases， high fever with thirst， irritability during pregnancy， and tetanus， with more clearly defined applications. Based on the results of the research， it is recommended that when developing and utilizing famous classical formulas containing Bambusae Succus， the one-year-old Phyllostachys nigra var. Henonis， which has been highly praised throughout history， should be selected as the source material. Industrial production should adopt the dry distillation method. Furthermore， in-depth research should be conducted on the modern technological characterization of the traditional quality control indicator of sweet taste， and reasonable modern quality control standards should be established.

OBJECTIVE To investigate the causal relationships between gut microbiota， blood metabolites and antidepressant treatment response from a genetic perspective， and to assess the potential mediating role of blood metabolites. METHODS This study utilized a two-sample Mendelian randomization （MR） design. Exposure data were derived from four large-scale gut microbiome genome-wide association study （GWAS） datasets and two blood metabolite GWAS datasets. The inverse variance weighted method was used as the primary method to evaluate the causal relationships between gut microbiota， blood metabolites and antidepressant effects. The robustness， heterogeneity and horizontal pleiotropy of the results were evaluated through various sensitivity analyses. Additionally， the false discovery rate （FDR） was applied to correct type Ⅰ errors caused by multiple hypothesis testing. Finally， MR mediation analysis was conducted to test the potential mediating effect of blood metabolites. RESULTS The s_ Bilophila was negatively associated with the effectiveness of antidepressant treatment （ P ＝8.030×10 －5 ， then P ＝0.033 after FDR correction）， and the f_Bacteroidales was positively associated with the effectiveness of antidepressant treatment （ P ＝3.275×10 －4 ， then P ＝0.034 after FDR correction）. Over a hundred blood metabolites were also screened out as being associated with antidepressant response， but after FDR correction， no significant causal relationship was observed. The P value of the mediation effect proportion of blood metabolites in the “gut microbiota-blood metabolites-antidepressant efficacy” pathway was greater than 0.05. CONCLUSIONS The s_ Bilophila may represent a risk factor for antidepressant effects， whereas the f_Bacteroidales may serve as a protective factor for antidepressant effects. The correlation between blood metabolites and antidepressant efficacy is not strong， and no genetic evidence is found to support that the investigated blood metabolites play a key mediating role between the gut microbiota and antidepressant response.

OBJECTIVE To study the clinical characteristics and potential risk factors for infection in patients with multiple myeloma （MM） following treatment with bortezomib. METHODS Clinical data were retrospectively collected from MM patients who received bortezomib-based treatment regimens at the Department of Hematology， the Second Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University， from October 2021 to February 2025. The collected data primarily included demographic characteristics， disease characteristics of MM， treatment regimens， occurrence of infections and corresponding management measures， and prophylactic medication use. Univariate and multivariate Logistic regression analyses were conducted to identify potential risk factors for MM complicated with infection. RESULTS Among the 284 MM patients treated with bortezomib， 132 patients （46.5%） experienced at least one infection. The predominant types of infections were respiratory tract infections and gastrointestinal infections. Univariate analysis showed that age at initial diagnosis， pathological classification， and grade of myelosuppression were influencing factors for infection in MM patients （ P ＜0.05）. Further analysis of influencing factors for the two main types of infections revealed that sex， age at initial diagnosis， pathological classification， treatment regimen， and smoking history were influencing factor s for respiratory tract infections in MM patients （ P ＜0.05）； BMI， pathological classification， treatment regimen， and grade of myelosuppression were influencing factors for gastrointestinal infections in MM patients （ P ＜0.05）. Multivariate Logistic regression analysis indicated that age≥70 years and the presence of grade Ⅳ myelosuppression before treatment were risk factors for infection in MM patients， while the IgG-λ type was a protective factor against infection （ P ＜0.05）. CONCLUSIONS The incidence of infection is relatively high in MM patients receiving bortezomib-based treatment regimens， with respiratory and gastrointestinal infections being the most common. Age at initial diagnosis， grade of myelosuppression， and pathological classification are influencing factors for infection in MM patients.

However， due to its alias Kucai， there has been much confusion with other plants. Since the Ming dynasty， various plants have been used interchangeably as Baijiang. Herbal textual research showed that Patriniae Herba was first recorded in Shennong Bencaojing， and throughout history， Baijiang has been recognized as its standard name， though it has also been known by alternative names such as Luchang， Lujiang， and Suanyi. The main sources used throughout the ages were Patrinia scabiosaefolia or P. villosa， which is consistent with the 1977 edition of the Pharmacopoeia of the People's Republic of China. However， while the roots were traditionally used medicinally， the whole plant is now more commonly used in modern practice. In addition， the whole plants of Thlaspi arvense from the Cruciferae family and Sonchus brachyotus from the Compositae family are commonly used as regional substitutes for Baijiang. According to ancient records， Patriniae Herba was primarily found in Jiangxia（present-day eastern Hubei province） and Jiangdong（the region south of the lower reaches of the Yangtze River）， but modern literature shows that it is distributed throughout the country without a distinct geographical origin. In ancient times， the roots were harvested in August and sun-dried， today， the whole plant is typically dug up in summer or autumn and sun-dried. In recent times， the quality has been summarized as being best when the roots are long， the leaves are abundant and green， and the aroma is strong. Regarding the processing， ancient methods often involved baking（drying over fire）， while modern methods typically involve removing impurities， washing， and then cutting and drying the segments. The effects of Patriniae Herba are to clear heat and detoxify， eliminate blood stasis and drain pus. During the Han and Northern and Southern dynasties， it was used to treat skin diseases caused by heat， abscesses， postpartum diseases， and rheumatism， during the Five dynasties period， its therapeutic applications expanded to include diseases of the five senses， and by the modern era， conditions such as neurasthenia and insomnia were added. Regarding its properties and taste， it was recorded as bitter and neutral during the Han dynasty. By the Tang dynasty， it was slightly cold， with a taste of acrid and bitter. During the Yuan and Ming dynasties， it was mostly slightly cold and neutral， with a bitter and salty taste. In the Qing dynasty and modern times， it was mostly bitter and neutral， and in contemporary times， it has evolved to a taste of acrid， bitter， and cool. Objective Objective To analyze the potential spatial factors affecting the genetic differentiation of Oncomelania hupensis robertsoni in Yunnan Province. Methods A total of 13 administrative villages were selected from schistosomiasis-endemic areas of Yunnan Province as O. hupensis snail sampling sites. At least 200 snails were collected in each site, and the spatial variable data of each site were recorded, including longitude, latitude and altitude. Thirty active and Schistosoma japonicum uninfected O. hupensis snails were selected from each sampling site by means of the crawling method and the cercarial shedding method. Genomic DNA was extracted from O. hupensis snails. Following PCR amplification, purification of PCR amplification products and sequencing, the gene sequences of O. hupensis snail samples were spliced and edited using the DNAstar software and the NCBI database to yield the complete mitochondrial sequences of O. hupensis snails at each sampling site, and the mitochondrial genetic distance matrix of O. hupensis robertsoni was calculated at each sampling site. The geographical coordinates of each sampling site were marked using the software ArcGIS 10.2, and the straight-line geographical distance between each sampling site was calculated. The altitude difference, longitude difference and latitude difference between each sampling site were calculated using the Excel software, and the correlation between the mitochondrial genetic distance matrix of O. hupensis robertsoni and each spatial variable matrix was examined by using the Mantel test at 13 sampling sites in Yunnan Province. Results Among the 13 O. hupensis snail sampling sites in Yunnan Province, the largest mitochondrial genetic distance of O. hupensis robertsoni snail populations was seen between Anding Village, Nanjian Yi Autonomous County and Caizhuang Village, Midu County (26.244 2), and the largest geographical distance was seen between Dongyuan Village, Gucheng District and Cangling Village, Chuxiong County (272.64 km). The highest altitude difference was seen between Anding Village, Nanjian Yi Autonomous County and Dongyuan Village, Gucheng District (1 086.10 m), and the largest longitude difference was found between Qiandian Village, Eryuan County and Cangling Village, Chuxiong County (1.86°), while the largest latitude difference was measured between Leqiu Village, Nanjian Yi Autonomous County and Dongyuan Village, Gucheng District (1.81°). In addition, the mitochondrial genetic distance of O. hupensis robertsoni snail populations was positively correlated with altitude at 13 snail sampling sites in Yunnan Province (r = 0.542 8, P < 0.001), and showed no significant correlations with geographical distance (r = 0.093 4, P > 0.05), longitude (r = −0.199 5, P > 0.05) or latitude (r = 0.205 7, P > 0.05). Conclusion Altitude may be a potential spatial factor affecting the genetic differentiation of O. hupensis robertsoni in Yunnan Province.
