Objective:To investigate the clinical efficacy of two-point localized injection of the depressor anguli oris (DAO) muscle combined with pan-platysma microbotox injection of botulinum toxin type A for improving the aesthetic of mouth corner. Methods:A retrospective analysis was conducted on clinical data from patients who received concomitant DAO localized injection and pan-platysma microbotox of botulinum toxin type A for improving drooping mouth corners at the Facial and Neck Plastic Surgery Center and the Limb and Scar Center of Plastic Surgery Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, between December 2022 and June 2025. Botulinum toxin type A was reconstituted to two concentrations: 40 U/ml and 20 U/ml for the combined injection. Patients were instructed to repeatedly perform upward puckering motions to identify the trapezoidal outline of the DAO muscle. Two injection points were uniformly marked slightly medial to the midline of the DAO muscle for dual-target injection (1.5 U each at the middle one-third and lower one-third of the muscle belly). The pan-platysma microbotox for the platysma muscle extended superiorly to a line parallel and 3-4 cm above the mandibular border, innerly to 1 cm beyond the lateral edge of the DAO muscle, inferiorly to the submental area and the anterior neck region above the clavicle, and laterally to the anterior border of the sternocleidomastoid muscle. The injection dose was 0.6 U per point, with 1 cm spacing between points, administered at the superficial subcutaneous layer. Complications were recorded. At 1-month postoperatively, efficacy was evaluated using the global aesthetic improvement scale (GAIS, scores ranging from 5 to 1, representing "much worse" to "very much improved" ) and subjective patient satisfaction (categorized as very satisfied, satisfied, dissatisfied, or very dissatisfied; satisfaction rate was calculated as the percentage of patients reporting very satisfied or satisfied among the total). Patients’ willingness to receive the same treatment in the future was also surveyed. Descriptive statistics were used for analysis. Results:A total of 21 patients were included (1 male, 20 females), with a mean age of (37.1±3.2) years (range: 34-45 years). The treatment procedures were successful. Post-treatment, 4 cases experienced pain and swelling, 8 had neck ecchymosis, and 1 had temporary asymmetry in mouth corner movement, all of which resolved within 2 weeks. The follow-up period ranged from 1 to 6 months (mean: 1.4 months). At short-term follow-up (4-6 weeks after treatment), patients reported a skin "tightening" sensation in the lower face and neck region, noting significant improvement in lower facial and neck contour, sharper bilateral jawlines, and reduced neck wrinkles. Drooping mouth corners were improved. The satisfaction survey showed that 17 patients were "very satisfied" and 5 were "satisfied", resultsing in a subjective satisfaction rate of 100%. Nineteen patients (90.5%) expressed willingness to undergo repeat treatment. The mean GAIS score was 1.45±0.69, with 14 patients achieving "very much improved", 5 patients "much improved", and 2 patients "improved" .Conclusion:The combination of two-point localized injection of the DAO muscle and pan-platysma microbotox injection of botulinum toxin into the platysma muscle effectively improve the aesthetic of mouth corners and lower facial contour through synergistic middle and superficial layer treatment. This approach aligns with anatomical and physiological merits and offers advantages such as minimal invasiveness and rapid recovery, making it applicable for patients with early signs of lower facial aging.

Objective:To explore the differences in the standardized z-score amplitude of low-frequency fluctuations (zALFFs) across different brain regions between children with global developmental delay (GDD) and healthy children (HC) using functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS), and correlating zALFF values with the subjects′ Gesell Developmental Scale (GDS) scores.Methods:Thirty-one children aged 2-4 years with GDD and 29 HC of the same age were studied. fNIRS was used to record both groups′ brain activity in response to natural stimuli and to measure any changes in oxygenated hemoglobin (HbO) levels in cerebral blood flow. zALFF values were calculated and the values of 44 channels were compared between the two groups. The correlations between zALFF values and GDS scores were computed. Results:The zALFF values of the children with GDD were significantly lower than those of the HC in the right frontal pole (channel 10) and the right pre-motor and supplementary motor areas (channel 43). In contrast, the zALFF values in the left pre-motor and supplementary motor areas (channels 24 and 26) were significantly higher in the children with GDD compared to the HC. Spearman ranked correlation analysis revealed that the zALFF values in the right pre-motor and supplementary motor areas (channel 43) were positively correlated with socialization scores on the GDS ( r=0.37, P≤0.05). Conclusions:The delays in cognitive and motor development in children with GDD may be associated with functional abnormalities in the right frontal polar region and the bilateral premotor and supplementary motor areas. zALFF values from the right premotor and supplementary motor areas are positively correlated with social skills.

Body weight abnormalities, including overweight, obesity, and underweight, have become a dual public health challenge in Chinese adults: overweight and obesity lead to a variety of chronic complications, while underweight increases the risks of malnutrition, sarcopenia, and organ dysfunction. To systematically address these issues, multidisciplinary experts in endocrinology, sports science, nutrition, and psychiatry from various regions have held multiple weight management seminars. Based on the latest epidemiological data and clinical evidence, they expanded the guideline to include assessment and intervention strategies for underweight, in addition to the core content of obesity management. This guideline outlines the etiological mechanisms, evaluation methods, and multidimensional management strategies for overweight and obesity, covering key areas such as diagnosis and assessment, medical nutrition therapy, exercise prescription, pharmacological intervention, and psychological support. It is intended to provide a scientific and standardized approach to weight management across the adult population, aiming to curb the rising prevalence of obesity, mitigate complications associated with abnormal body weight, and improve nutritional status and overall quality of life.

Objective:To investigate the potential causes of the rising epidemic of severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome (SFTS) in Weifang, Shandong province. Methods:The temporal trend of SFTS epidemic was segmented using Joinpoint regression analysis. Changes in epidemiological characteristics across different periods were compared, and correlation analysis was conducted to identify meteorological factors influencing the epidemic trend. Results:Joinpoint regression revealed two distinct periods for SFTS epidemic in Weifang: 2015-2021 and 2022-2024. No significant trend was observed during 2015-2021 ( P=0.634), while a sharp annual increase of 46.69% occurred from 2022 to 2024 ( P=0.006). Spatial autocorrelation analysis demonstrated a global Moran’s I of 0.42 ( Z=8.55, P<0.001) for 2015-2021, with 15 high-high clustering areas identified. For 2022-2024, the global Moran’s I decreased to 0.37 ( Z=7.31, P<0.001), with 13 high-high clusters, including newly emerging hotspots in Anqiu and Zhucheng in the southeastern region. High-risk populations remained individuals aged ≥50 in mountainous and hilly areas, with a marked rise in incidence in these groups. The male-to-female ratio of cases was higher in plain areas than in mountainous/hilly regions. Autumn (September-November) temperatures from the preceding year showed a positive correlation with annual case numbers ( P=0.004, r=0.82). The linear regression expression is y=40.61x-580.78 (y is the annual incidence, and x is the average daily temperature of last autumn). Conclusions:The SFTS epidemic in Weifang is showing a rising trend. There is a linear correlation between the temperature of the previous autumn and the scale of SFTS epidemic in the following year. This correlation allows for predicting the subsequent year′s epidemic, thereby enabling early warning of SFTS.

Chinese Journal of Reparative and Reconstructive Surgery 2025;39(3):326-331
OBJECTIVE:
The self-defined multidisciplinary (endocrinology, vascular surgery, and orthopedics) scoring system (EMO scoring system for short) was designed. The feasibility of the EMO scoring system to guide the proximal tibial transverse transport (TTT) for diabetic foot wounds was preliminarily explored.
METHODS:
Based on the current commonly used clinical criteria for diabetic foot judgment, expert consensus, guidelines, and related research progress in the treatment of diabetic foot wounds, combined with clinical experience, a set of EMO scoring systems including endocrinology, vascular surgery, and orthopedics was formulated. The criteria for selecting conservative treatment, TTT after baseline improvement, and TTT based on scoring results was proposed. A total of 56 patients with diabetic foot wounds who were admitted between September 2017 and July 2022 and met the selection criteria was taken as the study subjects. Among them, 28 patients were treated with TTT and 28 patients were treated conservatively. The patients were graded according to the EMO scoring system, the corresponding treatment methods were selected, and the actual treatment methods and results of the patients were compared.
RESULTS:
The EMO scoring system was formed through literature retrieval and clinical experiences. The system included three criteria, namely endocrinology (E), macrovascular disease (M), and orthopedics (O), which were divided into multiple subtypes according to the relevant evaluation items, and finally the diabetic foot wound was divided into 8 types, which correspondingly selected TTT, TTT after baseline improvement, and conservative treatment. All 56 patients were followed up 12 months after treatment. Among them, the wound healing rate of the TTT group was 85.71% (24/28), which was higher than that of the conservative treatment group [53.57% (15/28)]. At 12 week after treatment, CT angiography showed that there were more small blood vessels in the wound and ipsilateral limb in TTT group than in the conservative treatment group. Based on the EMO scoring system, 14 of the 56 patients needed conservative treatment, 29 patients needed TTT, and 13 patients needed TTT after baseline improvement. Compared with the clinical data of the patients, the wound healing rate of the patients judged to be TTT was 75.86% (22/29), of which 21 cases were actually treated with TTT, and the healing rate was 90.48%; 8 patients were treated conservatively, and the healing rate was 37.50%. The wound healing rate of the patients judged to be conservative treatment was 92.86% (13/14), of which 1 case was actually treated with TTT, and the healing rate was 100%; 13 cases were treated conservatively, and the healing rate was 92.31%; 1 case experienced minor amputation. The wound healing rate of the patients judged to TTT after baseline improvement was only 30.77% (4/13), of which 6 cases were actually treated with TTT, and the healing rate was 66.67%; 7 cases were treated conservatively, and the healing rate was 0.
CONCLUSION
EMO scoring system can comprehensively evaluate the diabetic foot wounds, and make personalized judgment on whether TTT treatment is feasible, so as to improve the level of diabetic foot wound treatment and the prognosis of patients.

OBJECTIVE:
To preliminarily investigate the effects and mechanism of action of Yishen Yangsui Formula (, YSYSF)on the recovery of neurological function in rats with degenerative cervical myelopathy.
METHODS:
Fifty adult SD female rats were randomly divided into control group, sham group, model group, YSYSF group and positive drug group by using randomized numerical table method. In the model group, YSYSF group and positive drug group, polyvinyl alcohol acrylamide interpenetrating network hydrogel(water-absorbent swelling material) was used to construct a rat spinal cord chronic compression model. The sham group was implanted with the water-absorbent swelling material and then removed without causing spinal cord compression. The control group, the sham group and the model group were given equal amounts of saline by gavage, the group of YSYSF was given Chinese herbal medicine soup by gavage 9.1 g·kg-1 once a day, and the positive drug group was given tetrahexylsalicylglucoside sodium monosialate ganglioside by intraperitoneal injection 4.2 mg·kg-1 once a day. The motor function of the rats was assessed by the BBB method after 1, 3, 7, and 14 d of drug administration. The spinal cord tissues were taken from rats executed 14 d after drug administration, and the morphological changes of the spinal cord compression site were observed by HE staining, and the expression levels of Caspase-1, GSDMD, NLRP3, PYCARD, IL-1β, and IL-18 were detected in the area of spinal cord injury by Western blot method.
RESULTS:
The BBB scores of the control group and the sham group were normal at all time points after modeling, which were higher than the BBB scores of the model group, the YSYSF, and the positive drug group (P<0.05). From the 3rd day after gavage, at all time points, the BBB scores of rats in the YSYSF group and the positive drug group were higher than those of rats in the model group (P<0.05). The staining pattern of HE spinal cord tissue was normal in the control group and the sham group, and the HE spinal cord in the model group was severely damaged with a large number of neuron deaths, whereas the damage to the spinal cord and neuron cells was reduced in the YSYSF group and the positive drug group. The expression levels of caspase-1, GSDMD, NLRP3, PYCARD, IL-1β and IL-18 in the spinal cord of the model group were significantly higher than those of the sham group (P<0.0001), and the expression levels of caspase-1, GSDMD, NLRP3, PYCARD, IL-1β, and IL-18 in the YSYSF group and the drug group were significantly lower than those in the model group (P<0.05).
CONCLUSION
YSYSF can improve the motor function of rats with degenerative cervical spinal cord disease, alleviate the pathological changes, and promote the recovery of spinal cord neurological function. The specific mechanism may be related to the inhibition of the activation of inflammatory vesicles NLRP3 and PYCARD, the reduction of the release of inflammatory factors IL-1β and IL-18, the reduction of the expression of caspase-1 and GSDMD, the reduction of cellular death, and the inhibition of inflammatory response.

Chinese Journal of Cellular and Molecular Immunology 2025;41(4):300-307
Objective To explore the effect of Evodiamine (Evo) on the immune function of allergic rhinitis (AR) rats and the regulatory mechanism on C-C motif chemokine ligand 2 (CCL2)/ C-C motif chemokine receptor 2 (CCR2) pathway. Methods The related targets of Evo-AR-immune function were screened by network pharmacology, and the protein interaction network diagram of intersecting targets was constructed. The AR rat model was established by ovalbumin (OVA) combined with aluminium hydroxide, and the rats were divided into six groups: a normal control (NC) group, a model group, a Loratadine (LOR) group, an Evodiamine low dose (Evo-L) group, a Evodiamine high dose (Evo-H) groups, and an Evo-H combined with CCL2 group. After the last administration, the symptoms of rats in each group were scored; ELISA was applied to detect the levels of histamine, immunoglobulin E (IgE), interleukin 4 (IL-4), IL-13 and interferon γ (IFN-γ); Diff-Quick staining solution was applied to detecte the number of cells in the nasal lavage fluid (NALF); hematoxylin eosin (HE) staining was applied to observe the pathological changes of nasal mucosa tissue; real-time quantitative PCR was applied to detect the levels of CCL2 and CCR2 mRNA in tissue; Western blot was applied to detect the expression levels of CCL2, CCR2 and CXC motif chemokine ligand 8 (CXCL8) proteins in nasal mucosa. Results There were eight intersection targets of EVo-AR-immune function, and protein interaction network diagram showed that CXCL8 was the core target. Compared with the NC group, the score of nasal symptoms, the levels of histamine, IgE, IL-4 and IL-13, the numbers of eosinophil, macrophages, neutrophils, lymphocytes and total cells, the mRNA and protein expression levels of CCL2 and CCR2, and the expression of CXCL8 protein in the model group were increased, while the level of IFN-γ was decreased. Compared with the model group, the score of nasal symptoms, the levels of histamine, IgE, IL-4 and IL-13, the numbers of eosinophil, macrophages, neutrophils, lymphocytes and total cells, the mRNA and protein expression levels of CCL2 and CCR2, and the expression of CXCL8 protein in LOR and Evo groups were decreased, while the level of IFN-γ was increased. Further use of CCL2 recombinant protein for compensatory experiments revealed that the improvement effect of Evo on immune function in AR rats was reversed by CCL2. Conclusion Evo can improve the immune function of AR rats, and its mechanism may be related to the inhibition of the CCL2/CCR2 pathway.
