In esthetic prosthetic treatment, color, shape, texture of teeth, and harmony with the facial appearance are considered very important. The virtual patient is formed by integrating data from intraoral and facial scans and mandibular movement records, making fabricating more aesthetic and functional prostheses possible in digital dentistry. In this case report, the patient with the tilted occlusal plane and facial asymmetry was restored with an anterior maxillary implant and a tooth-supported fixed prosthesis using the virtual patient. By using a virtual patient, it was possible to communicate between the dentist and patient or the dental technician during the design process, and we report this case because the results showed satisfactory aesthetic and functional results after treatment.

Background/Aims:
The Gout Impact Scale (GIS), a part of the Gout Assessment Questionnaire 2.0, is used to measure gout-specific health-related quality of life (HRQOL). Although several studies have been conducted on the factors affecting the HRQOL of patients with gout, few have focused on lifestyle factors. This study aimed to investigate the correlation between lifestyle habits and HRQOL using the GIS in patients with gout.
Methods:
We used data from the Urate-Lowering TheRApy in Gout (ULTRA) registry, a prospective cohort of Korean patients with gout treated at multiple centers nationwide. The patients were aged ≥18 years and met the 2015 American College of Rheumatology/European League Against Rheumatism gout classification criteria. They were asked to complete a GIS and questions regarding their lifestyle habits at enrollment.
Results:
The study included 232 patients. ‘Gout concern overall’ scores in the GIS were significantly lower in patients who exercised more frequently and consumed soft drinks and meat less, and ‘well-being during attack’ scores were significantly lower in patients who consumed vegetables and exercised more frequently. The frequency of vegetable consumption had a negative linear relationship with the ‘well-being during attack’ and ‘gout concern during attack’ scores (p = 0.01, p = 0.001, respectively). The frequency of exercise had a negative linear relationship with the ‘gout concern overall’ and ‘gout concern during attack’ scores (p = 0.04 and p = 0.002, respectively).
Conclusions
Patients with gout who frequently consumed vegetables and exercised regularly experienced less impact of gout, exhibiting a better GIS that represented HRQOL.

In patients with newly established ideal occlusion through full-mouth rehabilitation using fixed prostheses, complications and occlusal changes over time can arise because of various factors. This case report describes a 10-year follow-up of a patient with masticatory dysfunction and aesthetic problems who underwent full-mouth rehabilitation with an increased vertical dimension.During the follow-up, complications such as tooth fracture, occlusal changes, infraocclusion of few implant-supported prostheses, and loss of interproximal contacts were observed. Detecting these issues early through periodic follow-up is important. This case report aims to review the causes of complications after full-mouth rehabilitation using fixed prostheses and the strategies for their management.

Wear of teeth occurs due to various reasons, and full mouth rehabilitation with an accurate diagnosis of the patient can restore the occlusal relationship, aesthetics, and facial appearance and prevent the progression of wear. Restoration of worn dentition must be performed throughout the entire upper and lower arch. If restoration is performed only on the dentition of single arch, various problems may occur. The patient in this case had generalized wear of the maxillary and mandibular dentition and required full-mouth rehabilitation. However, due to the patient’s request, only the maxillary arch was rehabilitated first, and later, due to complications, the mandibular arch was rehabilitated. Purpose of this case report is to consider the problems when only the maxillary full arch was rehabilitated in a patient with generalized tooth wear, and how these were resolved during the mandibular full arch rehabilitation process.
