Objective To explore the role of DNAJC5B in immunotherapy for esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC). Methods Using the ESCC dataset from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database, genes correlated with DNAJC5B expression were identified through Pearson correlation analysis. Subsequently, Gene Ontology (GO) functional enrichment analysis and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathway analysis were performed. Additionally, single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) data were utilized to analyze the expression of DNAJC5B in different T-cell subsets. The prognostic value of DNAJC5B was evaluated using Kaplan-Meier survival curves, receiver operating characteristic curves, and Cox proportional hazards models. Results DNAJC5B was highly expressed in patients with advanced-stage ESCC, particularly in males. GO and KEGG analyses revealed a significant correlation between DNAJC5B expression and immune-related processes, such as the adaptive immune response and cell surface receptor signaling pathways. Single-cell analysis results indicated that DNAJC5B expression was positively correlated with immune function, with DNAJC5B predominantly accumulating in CD8+ T cells. Kaplan-Meier survival curves showed that the median survival time for patients with high DNAJC5B expression was 681 days, significantly shorter than the 1 361 days for patients with low expression (P<0.05). Furthermore, univariate and multivariate independent prognostic analyses demonstrated that DNAJC5B was an independent risk factor, with hazard ratios (HRs) of 3.577 and 4.114, respectively (both P<0.05). Conclusion DNAJC5B may play a crucial immunomodulatory role in ESCC, particularly in regulating CD8+ T-cell function and tumor immune escape. These findings support the potential of DNAJC5B as a biomarker for the treatment and prognostic assessment of ESCC.

Purpose:
This study aimed to examine current global practices in regenerative therapy (RT) for erectile dysfunction (ED) and to establish expert recommendations for its use, addressing the current lack of solid evidence and standardized guidelines.
Materials and Methods:
A 39-question survey was developed by senior Global Andrology Forum (GAF) experts to comprehensively cover clinical aspects of RT. This was distributed globally via a secure online Google Form to ED specialists through the GAF website, international professional societies, and social media, the responses were analyzed and presented for frequencies as percentages. Consensus on expert recommendations for RT use was achieved using the Delphi method.
Results:
Out of 479 respondents from 62 countries, a third reported using RT for ED. The most popular treatment was low-intensity shock wave therapy (54.6%), followed by platelet-rich plasma (24.5%) and their combination (14.7%), with stem cell therapy being the least used (3.7%). The primary indication for RT was the refractory or adverse effects of PDE5 inhibitors, with the best effectiveness reported in middle-aged and mild-to-moderate ED patients. Respondents were confident about its overall safety, with a significant number expressing interest in RT’s future use, despite pending guidelines support.
Conclusions
This inaugural global survey reveals a growing use of RT in ED treatment, showcasing its diverse clinical applications and potential for future widespread adoption. However, the lack of comprehensive evidence and clear guidelines requires further research to standardize RT practices in ED treatment.

Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2025;42(3):464-472
Brain-computer interface (BCI) has high application value in the field of healthcare. However, in practical clinical applications, convenience and system performance should be considered in the use of BCI. Wearable BCIs are generally with high convenience, but their performance in real-life scenario needs to be evaluated. This study proposed a wearable steady-state visual evoked potential (SSVEP)-based BCI system equipped with a small-sized electroencephalogram (EEG) collector and a high-performance training-free decoding algorithm. Ten healthy subjects participated in the test of BCI system under simplified experimental preparation. The results showed that the average classification accuracy of this BCI was 94.10% for 40 targets, and there was no significant difference compared to the dataset collected under the laboratory condition. The system achieved a maximum information transfer rate (ITR) of 115.25 bit/min with 8-channel signal and 98.49 bit/min with 4-channel signal, indicating that the 4-channel solution can be used as an option for the few-channel BCI. Overall, this wearable SSVEP-BCI can achieve good performance in real-life scenario, which helps to promote BCI technology in clinical practice.

Chinese Journal of Cellular and Molecular Immunology 2025;41(2):166-171
Allergic rhinitis (AR) is a chronic non-specific inflammatory disease of the nasal mucosa caused by abnormal activation of the immune system, with alterations in macrophage polarization playing a crucial role in its occurrence and development. Non-coding RNA has been found to play a key role in the polarization of macrophages. This study aims to explore the latest developments in research on the role of non-coding RNA-regulated macrophage polarization in the pathogenesis of AR, with the goal of identifying new approaches and potential targets for the diagnosis and treatment of AR.
