Objective: To analyze the occurrence of unintentional injuries among college students and their association with sexual orientation and gender identity, so as to provide a targeted scientific basis for injury prevention measures and intervention strategies. Methods: From October 24 to November 18, 2023, a sample of 1 629 college students from two general universities in Beijing was selected using convenience sampling method. A questionnaire survey was conducted to collect information on the gender identity, sexual orientation and occurrence of unintentional injuries among college students in the past year. The Symptom Checklist-90 (SCL-90), Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), Childhood Trauma Questionnaire (CTQ), and Delaware Bullying Victimization Scale-Student (DBVS-S) were used to assess mental health, sleep quality, childhood trauma, and dysfunctional impulsivity status. Analyses of sexual orientation and gender identity were conducted. The t-test and Chi square test were used for intergroup comparison,and multivariate Logistic regression analysis was used to examine risk factors for unintentional injuries among college students of different gender identities. Results: The incidence rate of unintentional injuries among college students was 16.94%, with boys (17.08%) being higher than girls (16.90%). Compared with those who did not experience unintentional injuries (5.28± 3.60 , 118.68±41.38), college students who experienced unintentional injuries had poorer sleep quality and mental health status ( 6.38 ±3.93, 135.59±50.96)( t =-3.92, -4.26); the differences in the incidence of unintentional injury among college students with non suicidal self injury, interpersonal violence, childhood trauma, and different sexual orientations and gender identities were all statistically significant ( χ 2=28.75, 75.18, 9.83, 16.20, 4.13) (all P <0.05). Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that after adjusting for age, gender and body mass index, non heterosexual orientation increased the risk of unintentional injuries ( OR=1.61, 95%CI =1.09-2.38), whereas existing non suicidal self injury behaviors ( OR=2.10, 95%CI =1.02-4.37) and poorer mental health status ( OR=1.54, 95%CI =1.05-2.27) increased the risk of unintentional injuries among non heterosexual college students (all P <0.05). Conclusions The incidence rate of unintentional injuries among college students is relatively high, with non heterosexual groups having increased risk of unintentional injuries. Mental health status and non suicidal self injury behaviors are important factors related to unintentional injuries among non heterosexual college students.

Berberine is a commonly used traditional Chinese medicine,which has the antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties.Ongoing investigations have identified berberine as an effective medicine for systemic diseases,such as cardiovascular diseases,diabe-tes mellitus and neurological disorders.At the same time,there exists a close relationship between oral microbiota and these systemic diseases.This review focuses on the relationship between berberine,oral microbiota and systemic diseases,offering new insights for the treatment of systemic diseases.

The fundamental pathogenic mechanisms of inflammatory bowel disease(IBD),a chronic inflammatory illness affecting the gastrointestinal tract,are still not fully understood.Dipeptidyl peptidase Ⅳ(DPP-4)is a glycoprotein found on the cell surface that has signaling and enzymatic properties.In addition,there is growing evidence from animal models and clinical trials that DPP-4 inhibitors have potential impacts beyond only lowering blood sugar levels,such as immunomodulatory and anti-inflammatory capabilities.This article reviews the biological properties of DPP-4 and its research progress in the diagnosis and treatment of IBD.It also discusses the mechanism of DPP-4 in IBD,aiming to provide a more in-depth understanding of the role of DPP-4 in IBD.

Objective:To establish a rat model of diabetic microangiopathopathy and simulate the biochemical and pathological changes of diabetic retinal and renal microangiopathopathy.Methods:Forty healthy male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into blank group and model group (10 and 30 rats, respectively). After the rats in blank group and model group were fed ordinary diet and high-fat and high-sugar diet for 5 weeks, respectively, the rats in model group were injected with 1% streptozotocin (STZ) through the abdominal cavity at the dose of 35 mg/kg to establish a type 2 diabetes model. After modeling, the rats were continuously fed until the 10th week (4 weeks after modeling), the general conditions of the rats were observed, and samples were collected for follow-up experiments. Serum creatinine (CREA), triglyceride (TG), total cholesterol (TC), high density lipoprotein (HDL-C), low density lipoprotein (LDL-C), microalbuminuria, urinary creatinine (UCr) and urine sugar were detected. Calculate the kidney index and microalbumin/urinary creatinine ratio (UACR). Optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) was used to observe the vascular changes and non-perfusion area of retinal superficial capillary plexus. The morphological and structural changes of kidney and retina were observed by hematoxylin-eosin and periodate Scheff staining. The expression of nerve fibers and nucleus of Müller cells in rat retina was observed by immunofluorescence staining. Ultrastructural results of retina were observed by transmission electron microscope. Independent sample t test was used for comparison between groups. Results:Four weeks after modeling, compared with blank group, the body weight of rats in model group was significantly decreased, and random glucose was significantly increased, with statistical significance ( t=5.755, -51.291; P<0.05). Renal index, urinary glucose and UACR were significantly increased, while UCr was significantly decreased, with statistical significance ( t=10.878, 137.273, 3.482,-6.110; P<0.05). CREA decreased, TG, TC, HDL-C, LDL-C increased, and the differences were statistically significant ( t=-28.012, 33.018, 118.018, 13.585, 16.480; P<0.05). OCTA examination showed that there was no perfusion area of shallow retinal capillaries. The optical microscope showed that the inner boundary membrane of retina in model group was swollen and thickened, the surface was uneven, the inner and outer nuclear layer cells were disordered and the density decreased. Glomerular congestion was accompanied by cortical tubular epithelial swelling, widening of the mesangial area, and thickening of the basement membrane. The results of immunostaining showed that the inner and outer plexiform layers of the retina showed lamellar strong green fluorescence expression, and the inner and outer nuclear layers showed scattered dot green fluorescence expression. Transmission electron microscopy showed that the basal membrane of retinal microvessels in model group was slightly thickened, vascular endothelial cells edema, endothelial nucleus and perinucleus contraction, nuclear membrane contraction, mild mitochondrial swelling, vacuolation. Conclusion:High-glucose and high-fat feeding plus a single intraperitoneal injection of STZ 35 mg/kg can successfully establish a microangiopathic model of type 2 diabetes.

Objective: To investigate the change of hepatitis B surface antibody (HBsAb) titer and its long-term protection and infection rates between 1 and 3-year-old children whose mothers were chronic hepatitis B pregnant woman with HBeAg positive and high viral load after successful blocking of mother-to-child transmission. Methods: One-year-old children whose mothers were hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) and hepatitis B e antigen (HBeAg) positive, with HBV DNA≥10⁶IU/ml were enrolled, then were followed up till 3 years old, and tested the five serological markers of hepatitis B and biochemical parameters at the age of one and three years respectively, and analyzed HBsAb titer, positive rate, negative rate and infection rate of 1 to 3-year-old children without enhanced vaccination; meanwhile, data of HBsAb titers at the age of 7 months were collected HBsAb titer, positive rate, and negative rate were analyzed. Results: Totally 264 1-year-old children were enrolled into the study, including 178 children without enhanced vaccination between seven months and 1 year of age, and 114 children without enhanced vaccination between 1 year and 3 years of age. Our result showed that there were no infected children at the age between 1 and 3 years. HBsAb titer decreased from 7 months to 1 year old and dropped from 1 000 IU/L to 509.43 IU/L (P<0.05), and the antibody was still protective. From 1 year to 3 years old, HBsAb titer dropped from 466.72 IU/L to 67.3 IU/L (P< 0.05); at the age of 3 years, 60.52 % children were either weakly positive or negative, but still protective, but significantly less than those who had the reinforced vaccination. As a result , the children without the enhanced vaccination between 1 and 3 years of age were still at high risk. Conclusions If the antibody was protective at 7 months, children were not easily infected between 1 year and 3 years of age. At the age of 3, the antibody dropped to low or no responsive levels, and the children were still at high risk. It is necessary to take protective measures and supplement the vaccine.

As a neotype learning mode, team-based learning has been applied in some medical schools and has become one of the most common self-regulated learning modes around the world. According to the process of team-based learning in medical classes at University of British Columbia in Canada. In terms of its effects, we discuss its advantages and shortcomings, and analyze its application status and im-plementation difficulties in China, and then propose several suggestions on domestic medical education.

Objective To analyze the risk factors of aortic valve calcification,and discuss its correlation with coronary artery disease.Methods A total of 188 patients who underwent coronary angiography (CAG) and transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) were divided into two groups:101cases with aortic valve calcification (AVC) and 87 cases without AVC (NAVC).General data such as sex,age,height,weight and hypertension history,results of blood test such as glucose,lipid and homocysteine(HCY)level were recorded.Results In AVC versus NAVC group,age were (67.0±9.0) years vs.(59.4 ± 6.9) years (t =6.74,P =0.000),men were 36 cases (35.6％) vs.44 cases (50.6％) (t=4.26,P=0.039),hypertension patients were 72 cases (71.3％) vs.50 cases (57.5％)(x2=3.92,P=0.048),total cholesterol were (5.4 ± 1.0) mmol/L vs.(4.5 ± 1.0)mmol/L (t =5.70,P=0.000),triglyceride were (2.2 ± 1.1 ) mmol/L vs.( 1.6 ± 0.8) mmol/L (t =4.04,P =0.000),HCY were (17.6±8.8) μmol/L vs.(14.9±6.6) μmol/L (t=2.86,P=0.028),respectively.One-way analysis showed that age,sex,hypertension,total cholesterol,triglyceride had relationship with aortic valve calcification.When we divided the cases into two groups (with and without coronary disease),there is no significant difference in HCY(t=0.88,P=0.382) between the two groups.Logistic regression indicated that age,total cholesterol,triglycerides,HCY were independent risk factors of aortic valve calcification,the incidence of aortic valve calcification was related with the severity of coronary artery lesion (x2 =9.48,P =0.024 ).Conclusions The independent risk factors of aortic valve calcification are age,cholesterol,triglyceride,HCY.Higher incidence of aortic valve calcification may result in greater severity coronary artery lesion.

Objective To explore the reconstructive methods of benign bone tumor defects in proximal joint. Methods Operative treatment was performed in 11 cases with benign bone tumor defects in proximal joint, a-mong whom 4 cases were treated by curettage,cauterization of wall and bone grafting,3 cases were treated by filling branch through segment fibula transplantation with vascular,2 cases were treated by fibula head transplantation with vascular to reconstruct the glenohumeral joint and rediocarpal joint, and 2 cases were treated by artificial joint re-placement. Results The follow-up ranged from 1.5 to 6 years. All of cases got excellent bone unioned without re-lapse and 2 cases of them developed with little limitation in joint function. Conclusion The importance and recon-structive achievement of fibula transplantation in treating the benign bone tumor defects in proximal joint should be thought fully. The indication of artificial tumor prosthesis replacement should be strictly mastered.
