Objective: To characterize longitudinal trajectories of testicular development in boys and breast development in girls, so as to provide reference data for understanding patterns of pubertal sexual maturation. Methods: Based on the Shanghai Pudong New Area Cohort Study on Growth, Development and Health in Children and Adolescents, a baseline survey was conducted in 2020 using a mult stage cluster random sampling method. A total of 2 184 children who completed all follow ups during the primary school period from 13 elementary schools in Pudong New Area,Shanghai,with annual follow ups during 2021-2025. Testicular volume and Tanner stage of breast development were assessed by professional physicians using standardized visual inspection and palpation. The age distribution of testicular volume and breast development was fitted by using cumulative link mixed models and Turnbull s nonparametric maximum likelihood estimation method. Results: Median ages for testicular volumes of 2, 3, 4 and 5 mL in boys were 7.07, 9.24, 10.29, and 11.57 years old, respectively. Median ages for Tanner breast stages Ⅱ, Ⅲ, Ⅳ, and Ⅴ in girls were 8.55 , 10.17, 11.18, and 13.78 years old, respectively. Based on overweight and obesity, stratified analysis showed that earlier pubertal onset among overweight/obesity children, and the key milestones for pubertal initiation were testicular volume reaching 4 mL in boys and breast Tanner II in girls for 10.29, 10.83; 8.18, 9.00 years. Conclusion Overweight and obesity are associated with earlier pubertal initiation,but there are certain gender and developmental stage specific patterns.

Obesity and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) are linked to numerous chronic conditions, including cardiovascular disease, atherosclerosis, chronic kidney disease, and type II diabetes. Previous research identified the natural flavonoid diosmin, derived from Chrysanthemum morifolium, as a regulator of glucose metabolism. However, its effects on lipid metabolism and underlying mechanisms remained unexplored. The AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) pathway serves a critical function in glucose and lipid metabolism. The relationship between diosmin and the AMPK pathway has not been previously documented. This investigation examined diosmin's capacity to reduce lipid content through AMPK pathway activation in hepatoblastoma cell line G2 (HepG2) and 3T3-L1 cells. The study revealed that diosmin inhibits lipogenesis, indicating its potential as an anti-obesity agent in obese mice. Moreover, diosmin demonstrated effective MASLD alleviation in vivo. These findings suggest that diosmin may represent a promising therapeutic candidate for treating obesity and MASLD.

ObjectivesTo understand the prevalence of hyperhomocysteinemia （HHcy） in the Tibetan population in Northwest Xizang， and its association with lipids and blood uric acid， and to explore the prevention and treatment strategies for chronic diseases such as HHcy in Northwest Xizang. MethodsIn this survey， questionnaires， physical examinations， and biochemical tests were conducted on 3432 Tibetan residents aged 18 years and older who had resided in Northwest Xizang （Ngari Prefecture， Nagqu City） for more than 6 months using a multistage stratified whole cluster random sampling method. ResultsThe prevalence of HHcy among Tibetan residents in Northwest Xizang was 75.7%， much higher than that of the average population in China （37.2%）. Blood uric acid、high-density lipoprotein cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol were risk factors for HHcy. ConclusionThe prevalence of HHcy is higher in the Tibetan population in northwest Xizang. Therefore， the local governments should urge people to establish a healthy lifestyle and enhance early intervention for HHcy by improving diet and lifestyle， thereby reducing the risk of cardiovascular， cerebrovascular and other related diseases.

Purpose To explore the effect of compressed sensing(CS)technique with different acceleration factors on the quality of cardiac magnetic resonance cine sequences and feasibility of clinical application.Materials and Methods From January to July 2021,40 healthy volunteers were prospectively recruited for cardiac magnetic resonance cine imaging in Hefei First People's Hospital.Four scan protocols of volunteers were designed:SENSE 2 and CS-cine sequences with acceleration factors of 3,4 and 8.The imaging slices include four chamber heart,short axis heart,left ventricular two chamber heart and three chamber heart.Subjective score of image quality,left ventricular cardiac function and 16-segment myocardial thickness of SENSE 2 and CS3,CS4 and CS8 were compared and analyzed.Results Taking SENSE 2 image as the standard score of 5,the scores of CS3 and CS4 were above 3,and the scores of CS8 were below 3.There was no significant difference between the scores of four chamber heart and short axis heart images of CS3 and SENSE 2 sequence(all P>0.05).There were statistically significant differences in the subjective scores of image quality between the left ventricular two chamber heart and three chamber heart groups of each sequence(all P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in left ventricular function(left ventricular ejection fraction,left ventricular end systolic volume,left ventricular end diastolic volume,left ventricular stroke volume,left ventricular end-diastolic mass)(F=0.027,0.182,0.057,0.140,0.545)and myocardial thickness(F=0.052-7.366)among the four imaging schemes(all P>0.05).Conclusion Cardiac cine based on compressed sensing technology have good application prospects.With the increase of acceleration factors,the scanning time gradually decreases,and the corresponding image quality will also decrease.When the acceleration factor is 4,that is,the scanning time of the conventional cine sequence is reduced by 50%,the left ventricular function and myocardial thickness can still be accurately measured,and the image quality basically meets the diagnostic requirements.

OBJECTIVE To investigate the effects and mechanism of luteolin on osteogenic repair of bone defects. METHODS The targets and potential pathways of luteolin in the treatment of bone defects were screened by network pharmacology method， and then the top 2 targets were selected by Hub gene screening for molecular docking verification， with binding energy as the evaluation standard. In vitro experiments were conducted on rat bone mesenchymal stem cells （BMSC） and rat umbilical vein endothelial cells （RUVEC）. Phenotypic validation was performed using alkaline phosphatase staining， alizarin red S staining， and in vitro angiogenesis experiments. Western blot assay was used to detect the protein expressions of phosphatidylinositol 3 kinase （PI3K） and protein kinase 1 （Akt1）， so as to validate the mechanism of luteolin on osteogenic differentiation of BMSC and angiogenesis of RUVEC in vitro. RESULTS The results of network pharmacology showed that the effects of luteolin on vascular formation and bone repair in bone defects were mainly related to Akt1， SRC， estrogen receptor 1， epidermal growth factor receptor， cyclooxygenase 2， matrix metalloproteinase 9 targets， and were closely related to PI3K-Akt signaling pathway. The results of molecular docking showed that luteolin binding to Akt1 and SRC proteins was stable. The results of in vitro experiments showed that luteolin could significantly improve the expressions and activities of alkaline phosphatase in BMSC， increased the number of calcium salt deposits and calcified nodules， and promoted calcification of BMSC. Compared with luteolin 0 μmol/L group， the angiogenesis ability of RUVEC was enhanced significantly in luteolin 1， 10 μmol/L groups， the length of blood vessels and the protein expressions of PI3K and Akt1 were significantly increased （P＜0.05 or P＜0.01）； the higherthe concentration， the better the effect. CONCLUSIONS Luteolin may play a role in promoting angiogenesis and bone repair at the fracture site by activating PI3K/Akt signaling pathway and promoting the protein expressions of PI3K and Akt1.

Objective:To investigate the differences and changes in early postoperative visual quality after small incision lenticule extraction (SMILE) and smart pulse technology-assisted transepithelial photorefractive keratectomy (SPT-TransPRK).Methods:A cohort study was performed.A total of 92 patients (92 eyes) who underwent corneal laser refractive surgery were enrolled in Dalian Third People's Hospital Affiliated to Dalian Medical University from February 2021 to May 2021.The data from the right eye were collected for analysis.The patients were divided into SMILE group (40 patients, 40 eyes) and SPT-TransPRK group (52 patients, 52 eyes). Preoperative, 1- and 3-month postoperative visual acuity were measured to calculate the effectiveness, which was defined as the ratio of postoperative uncorrected visual acuity (UCVA) to preoperative best corrected visual acuity.Refraction was measured by an AR-1 autorefractor.Corneal higher-order aberration (HOA) including total HOA, spherical aberration and coma was measured by Sirius corneal topographer.Objective scatter index (OSI), modulation transfer function cut-off frequency (MTF cut-off), Strehl ratio (SR), simulated contrast visual acuity VA100 (day), VA20 (dusk) and VA9 (night) were measured via OQAS II visual quality analysis system.This study adhered to the Declaration of Helsinki.The study protocol was approved by the Ethics Committee of the Dalian Third People's Hospital Affiliated to Dalian Medical University (No.2019-KT-010). Written informed consent was obtained from each subject.Results:There was no significant difference in 3-month postoperative UCVA and effectiveness between the two groups ( Z=0.880, P=0.380; t=0.920, P=0.058). Patients in SPT-TransPRK group showed mild hyperopia 3 months after surgery.Preoperative, 1- and 3-month postoperative total corneal HOA was (0.47±0.18), (0.70±0.22) and (0.74±0.19)μm in SMILE group, and (0.40±0.14), (0.98±0.35) and (0.94±0.22)μm in SPT-TransPRK group respectively, showing statistically significant differences ( Fgroup=13.851, P=0.001; Ftime=29.960, P<0.001). Preoperative, 1- and 3-month postoperative spherical aberration was (-0.20±0.09), (-0.44±0.14) and (-0.44±0.15)μm in SMILE group, and (-0.20±0.10), (-0.71±0.23) and (-0.75±0.20)μm in SPT-TransPRK group respectively, showing statistically significant differences ( Fgroup=31.037, P<0.001; Ftime=48.005, P<0.001). The postoperative total corneal HOA and spherical aberration were increased in both groups compared with before surgery, with statistically significant differences (all at P<0.05). The 1- and 3-month postoperative total corneal HOA and spherical aberrations were smaller in SMILE group than in SPT-TransPRK group, and the differences were statistically significant (all at P<0.05). The 1- and 3-month postoperative coma were increased in both groups compared with before surgery, showing statistically significant differences (all at P<0.05). In SMILE group, 1-month postoperative OSI was higher and 1-month postoperative MTF cut-off, SR, and VA9 were lower than those before surgery, and 3-month postoperative OSI was higher and 3-month postoperative SR and VA9 were lower than those before surgery, showing statistically significant differences (all at P<0.05). In SPT-TransPRK group, 1-month postoperative OSI was higher and 1-month postoperative MTF cut-off, SR, VA100, VA20, and VA9 were lower than those before surgery, showing statistically significant differences (all at P<0.05). There was no significant difference in OSI, MTF cut-off, SR, VA100, VA20, and VA9 between 3 months postoperatively and before surgery in the SPT-TransPRK group (all at P>0.05). There was no significant difference in coma, OSI, MTF cut-off, SR, VA100, VA20, and VA9 between two groups (all at P>0.05). Conclusions:Both SMILE and SPT-TransPRK are effective methods for correcting myopia and they have comparable visual quality.Compared with SPT-TransPRK, corneal total HOA and spherical aberration are smaller after SMILE.

Objective:To investigate the effects of transepithelial photorefractive keratectomy (TransPRK) and femtosecond small incision lenticule extraction (SMILE) on corneal biomechanics measured by the Ocular Response Analyzer in the early postoperative period.Methods:A cohort study was conducted.The right eyes of 56 patients who underwent TransPRK and 52 patients who underwent SMILE in Dalian Medical University Affiliated Dalian Third People's Hospital from November 2020 to June 2021 were continuously included.The postoperative follow-up was 3 months.The central corneal thickness (CCT) and keratometry (Km) were measured 1 month and 3 months after surgery.The corneal-compensated intraocular pressure (IOPcc), corneal resistance factor (CRF), corneal hysteresis (CH), and 19 repeatable mechanical infrared signal waveform parameters measured by the Ocular Response Analyzer were recorded before the surgery, 1 month and 3 months after the surgery, respectively.The measurement indexs at different time points between two groups were compared.This study adhered to the Declaration of Helsinki and the study protocol was approved by the Ethics Committee of Dalian Medical University Affiliated Dalian Third People's Hospital (No.2019-KT-010). Written informed consent was obtained from each patient before surgery.Results:There was no significant difference in CCT, Km, and IOPcc between the two groups at 1 month and 3 months after the surgery (all at P>0.05). In both groups, CRF, CH, p1area, p2area, p1area1, p2area1, w1, w2, w11, w21, h1, h2, h11, h21, dive1, dive2 and mslew1 were decreased, while path1, path2, path11, and aplhf were increased at 1 month after the surgery compared with before surgery, showing statistically significant differences (all at P<0.05). In both groups, CRF, CH, p1area, p2area, p1area1, p2area1, w1, w2, w11, w21, h1, h2, h11, h21, dive1 decreased, while path1, path2, path11, and aplhf were increased at 3 months after the surgery in comparison with before surgery, showing statistically significant differences (all at P<0.05). In SMILE group, the dive2 were decreased at 3 months after the surgery compared with before surgery, and the difference was statistically significant ( P<0.01). At 1 month after the surgery, p1area, p2area, p1area1, p2area1, w1, w2, w11, w21, dive1 and dive2 were higher, while CH, path1, path2, and path11 were smaller in TransPRK group than in SMILE group, showing statistically significant differences between them (all at P<0.05). At 3 months after the surgery, p1area, p2area, p1area1, p2area1, w1, w2, w11, w21, h2, h21, dive1 and dive2 were higher, while path1, path2, and path11 were smaller in TransPRK group than in SMILE group, showing statistically significant differences between them (all at P<0.05). Conclusions:Corneal biomechanics are weakened after both TransPRK and SMILE.In the early postoperative period, the mechanical infrared waveform parameters measured by the Ocular Response Analyzer are better after TransPRK than after SMILE.

Background Studies on the association between greenness exposure and allergic rhinitis (AR) in children are mostly conducted in developed countries, and the conclusion is not consistent. Objective Using street view data to explore the association between greenness exposure and allergic rhinitis (AR) prevalence in Chinese children. Methods A cross-sectional study was conducted among 40868 children aged 2-17 years in three cities of Northeast China from 2012 to 2013, which consisted of 20886 (51.1%) boys and 19982 (48.9%) girls. The information of AR prevalence was obtained through questionnaire. Based on downloaded street view images from Tencent Maps, a green view index (GVI) of green vegetation (trees and grass) within 800 m and 1000 m buffer of the participants' schools was calculated by using artificial intelligence, and it was used as a surrogate of the greenness exposure. A mixed-effect logistic regression model was used to estimate the odds ratio (OR) of AR prevalence in children for per increase of inter-quartile range (IQR) of GVI. In addition, according to ambient PM_2.5 concentration, the participants were divided into a low PM_2.5 exposure group (≤56.23 μg·m⁻³) and a high exposure group (>56.23 μg·m⁻³) to investigate whether PM_2.5 was a modifier on the association between GVI and AR. Results The average age of the subjects was (10.40±3.68) years and 3 963 (9.7%) subjects reported diagnosed AR. Within 800 m buffer, an IQR increase in GVI for trees (IQR=0.031, OR=0.85, 95%CI: 0.81-0.90) and overall greenness (IQR=0.029, OR=0.86, 95%CI: 0.81-0.90) was associated with lower adjusted odds ratio of AR. The interaction between PM_2.5 and GVI was statistically significant (P< 0.1), that is, the negative associations of trees and overall greenness with AR were observed only at low PM_2.5 exposure levels. The sensitivity analysis results of GVI within 1000 m buffer was consistent with that within 800 m buffer. Conclusion Exposure to green vegetation, especially trees, may be associated with decreased risks of AR in children, and such associations may be more obvious in areas with a low PM_2.5 concentration.

Objective:To investigate the effect of O-arm navigation assisted posterior pedicle screw reduction and internal fixation of atlantoaxial fractures.Methods:A retrospective case-control study was conducted to analyze 37 patients with atlantoaxial fractures admitted to Third Hospital of Hebei Medical University from January 2016 to June 2018, including 22 males and 15 females, aged from 29 to 68 years [(50.9±9.8)years]. The posterior pedicle screw reduction and internal fixation was performed under O-arm navigation system (navigation group, n=24), and using free-hand technique (free-hand group, n=13). The operation time and blood loss were compared between the two groups. The Japanese Orthopaedic Association (JOA) score and neck disability index (NDI) were used to evaluate the clinical efficacy before operation, 7 days operation and at the last follow-up. The complications were detected. A total of 86 screws were placed in navigation group (Neo grade 0: 83 screws, grade 1: 2 screws, grade 2: 1 screw ), and 44 screws were inserted in free-hand group (Neo grade 0: 36 screws, grade 1: 5 screws, grade 2: 2 screws, grade 3: 1 screw)( P<0.05). Classification of screw positions proposed by Neo et al was used to evaluate the position relationship between the screw and the bone cortex and the incidence of screw penetration. Results:All patients were followed up 24-38 months [(27.7±4.0)months]. The operation time in navigation group was (189.8±35.4)minutes, significantly shorter than (221.5±48.6)minutes in free-hand group ( P<0.05). The bleeding volume in navigation group was 300.0 (250.0, 537.5)ml , significantly less than 500.0 (425.0, 625.0)ml in free-hand group ( P<0.05). Both groups showed significantly enhanced JOA and decreased NDI after operation and at last follow-up, compared with those before operation ( P<0.05). However, there was no significant difference in JOA and NDI between the two groups ( P>0.05). No severe complications such as neurovascular injury occurred during operation. The incidence of cortical penetration was 3% (3/86) in navigation group and 18% (8/44) in free-hand group ( P<0.05). Conclusions:In the process of posterior atlantoaxial pedicle screw placement, the application of O-arm navigation can significantly reduce the operation time and amount of bleeding, and enhance the accuracy of pedicle screw implantation.
