Acute urinary retention(AUR)occurs frequently among astronauts on orbit.The current treatment is complex and easy to damage the urethra,which seriously affects the life and work of astronauts.In contrast,acupuncture,a traditional Chinese remedy,has shown promising results in managing urinary retention.However,the specific acupoints that could potentially prevent AUR remain uncertain due to the unique physiological conditions experienced by individuals in space compared to those on Earth.To address this gap,our research delved into the mechanisms of AUR and acupuncture within both traditional Chinese medicine and modern medical practices.We conducted a thorough literature review from Pubmed,Web of Science,CNKI,Wanfang database,VIP database and Chinese Medical Code database.A hierarchical evidence-scoring approach was utilized to analyze the included literatures,thus devised acupuncture protocols for the treatment of AUR.The outcomes of our study aim to establish a foundation for the application of acupuncture in managing AUR.

Background Perfluorinated and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), a large group of emerging pollutants, are ubiquitous in the ecological environment. Their multiple organ toxic effects on human body are reported. Astronauts are affected by the space environment,and there are health problems in many systems of the body,which seriously affect the on-orbit work efficiency and the health recovery after landing.Although measures have been taken,there are still deficiencies.Acupuncture can regulate the body in a multi-target,multi-level and multi-system way to protect the health of astronauts,which is an effective measure to protect the health problems of astronauts.But there is no acupoint group database for aerospace medical problems,which limits the application of acupuncture in space.The aim of this paper is to solve the possible aerospace medical problems of astronauts by acupuncture.Firstly,the acupuncture indications in aerospace medicine are determined through literature research,expert consultation and expert consensus,and then the evidence collection,evidence evaluation and evidence aggregation are carried out through the"stratified evidence evaluation method"for ancient literature,modern literature and expert experience.Finally,acupoint prescriptions were recommended based on the comprehensive score of acupoints,and acupuncture prescriptions for all acupuncture indications in aerospace medicine were integrated to form an acupoint group database,so as to contribute more Chinese wisdom and solutions to solve aerospace medicine problems.
4.Effects of angiotensin II receptor blocker usage on viral load, antibody dynamics, and transcriptional characteristics among COVID-19 patients with hypertension.

Epidemiological evidence suggests that patients with hypertension infected with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) are at increased risk of acute lung injury. However, it is still not clear whether this increased risk is related to the usage of renin-angiotensin system (RAS) blockers. We collected medical records of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients from the First Affiliated Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine (Hangzhou, China), and evaluated the potential impact of an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) on the clinical outcomes of COVID-19 patients with hypertension. A total of 30 hypertensive COVID-19 patients were enrolled, of which 17 were classified as non-ARB group and the remaining 13 as ARB group based on the antihypertensive therapies they received. Compared with the non-ARB group, patients in the ARB group had a lower proportion of severe cases and intensive care unit (ICU) admission as well as shortened length of hospital stay, and manifested favorable results in most of the laboratory testing. Viral loads in the ARB group were lower than those in the non-ARB group throughout the disease course. No significant difference in the time of seroconversion or antibody levels was observed between the two groups. The median levels of soluble angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (sACE2) in serum and urine samples were similar in both groups, and there were no significant correlations between serum sACE2 and biomarkers of disease severity. Transcriptional analysis showed 125 differentially expressed genes which mainly were enriched in oxygen transport, bicarbonate transport, and blood coagulation. Our results suggest that ARB usage is not associated with aggravation of COVID-19. These findings support the maintenance of ARB treatment in hypertensive patients diagnosed with COVID-19.

6.Evaluation on the efficacy of human umbilical cord derived-mesenchymal stem cell transplantation in liver cirrhosis patients with ascites in a prospective and control trial

ObjectiveTo evaluate the one-year follow-up of the therapeutic efficacy of human umbilical cord derived-mesenchymal stem cell (UC-MSC) transplantations in decompensated liver cirrhosis patients with ascites.MethodsFifty-four liver cirrhosis patients with ascites in Research Center for Biological Therapy in 302 Military Hospital were divided into treatment group (n=38) and control group (n=16) in a prospective controlled single-blinded trial.UC-MSC (0.5-1.0) × 106/kg and saline were intravenously transplanted into patients monthly for 3 times in treatment group and control group,respectively.The liver function,hepatitis B virus (HBV) DNA level,ascites and the model for end-stage liver disease(MELD)scores at different time points were compared between two groups.The comparison between groups was done by Mann-Whitney U test,and the data before and after transplantations were compared by Wilcoxon signed rank sum test.ResultsThere were no significant differences of alanine transaminase (ALT),total bilirubin (TBil),cholinesterase (CHE),HBV DNA positive rate and MELD scores at different time points between two groups (P>0.05).However, the albumin ( A1b)level was significantly increased after 36 weeks of UC-MSC transplantation in treatment group, which were (28.47±4.45)g/L at week 0 and ( 34.82±4.50)g/L at week 48 (P=0.046). Meanwhile, the ascites reduced markedly in treatment group with (46.6 ±30.6) mm at week 0 and (6.6±13.6) mm at week 48,which were significantly different from control group at the end of follow-up (P =0.037). Conclusion UC-MSC transplantations may help to increase A1b level and reduce ascites in patients with decompensated liver cirrhosis.
