BackgroundThe middle school stage represents a crucial period for the development of borderline personality features. Negative parenting styles and emotional regulation strategies are associated with the formation of borderline personality features. However, the moderating role of emotional regulation strategies between negative parenting styles and borderline personality features among middle school students remains unclear. ObjectiveTo explore the moderating influence of emotional regulation strategies in the relationship between negative parenting styles and borderline personality features among middle school students, and to provide references for the intervention of borderline personality features. MethodsIn October 2023, a total of 5 965 middle school students from three middle schools in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region were selected by cluster sampling, and assessed by the Borderline Personality Features Scale for Children (BPFS-C), the Egna Minnen Barndoms Uppfostran (EMBU), and the Emotion Regulation Questionnaire-Chinese Revised Version (ERQ-CRV). Pearson correlation analysis was used to test the correlation between the scores of each scale, and the model 1 of the Process macro program was used to conduct the moderating effect test. ResultsA total of 5 572 middle school students (93.41%) completed this study, and 1 388 of them (24.91%) were identified as having high borderline personality features. The BPFS-C score of middle school students was positively correlated with the score of the negative parenting style dimension of EMBU (r=0.367, P<0.01), negatively correlated with the score of the cognitive reappraisal dimension of ERQ-CRV (r=-0.168, P<0.01), and positively correlated with the score of the expression inhibition dimension of ERQ-CRV (r=0.344, P<0.01). Cognitive reappraisal played a negative moderating effect between negative parenting styles and borderline personality features (β=-0.072, 95% CI: -0.104–-0.041, P<0.01), while expressive suppression played a positive moderating effect (β=0.076, 95% CI: 0.055–0.097, P<0.01). ConclusionCognitive reappraisal strategy may help mitigate the negative influence of negative parenting styles on middle school students' borderline personality features, while expressive suppression may exacerbate the harm of negative parenting styles to the borderline personality features of middle school students.

Objective:To investigate the current status of maximum tongue pressure (MTP) in cardiac surgery inpatients and analyze its influencing factors, providing a basis for developing personalized nursing measures for high-risk groups. Methods:This cross-sectional study used a convenience sampling method to select cardiac surgery inpatients at Zhongshan Hospital, Fudan University, from January 2022 to April 2023. General and clinical data questionnaires, a swallowing tongue muscle evaluation training device, and a hand dynamometer were used for data collection. The random forest model and Lasso regression were employed to identify key influencing factors, and multiple linear regression was used to analyze the factors affecting MTP.Results:A total of 501 cardiac surgery inpatients meeting the inclusion and exclusion criteria were enrolled, including 308 males and 193 females, with a mean age of (56.94 ± 14.02) years. The mean MTP was (45.92 ± 9.57) kPa. When the lambda (λ) value was 0.181, the model achieved the best fit, identifying 10 key influencing factors in descending order of importance: age, handgrip strength, gender, BMI, N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP), glomerular filtration rate, cardiac function grade, hemoglobin, history of stroke, and history of atrial fibrillation. Age, handgrip strength, low-level BMI, NT-proBNP, and history of stroke were determined as significant factors influencing MTP in cardiac surgery inpatients ( R2 = 0.324, F = 24.92, P<0.05). Conclusions:Nurses should pay close attention to the tongue muscle strength of cardiac surgery inpatients. Early assessment of MTP is essential for older patients, those with low handgrip strength, low BMI, elevated NT-proBNP, or a history of stroke. Targeted early identification and pre-rehabilitation measures should be implemented for patients with weakened tongue muscle strength.

Objective To develop a foot pad for arch support after plantar skin grafting and evaluate its rehabilitation effect on scar tissue in the arch area of postoperative patients. Methods The foot pad for arch support after plantar skin grafting was fabricated from medical-grade silicone and comprised a pad body and an arch support component. The pad body featured shock-absorbing convex patterns on its surface,precision-cut grooves in the metatarsal region and an upwardly convex arch section;the arch support component consisted of an arch-supporting portion with heel reinforcement and a heel-supporting portion, both peripherally integrated with vibration-damping through-holes.Totally 82 burn patients undergoing grafting using plantar skin were selected and divided equally into a control group and an experimental group with the random number table method. In the control group,anti-scarring care such as applying silicone gel and pressure therapy by rehabilitation nurses was carried out immediately after the healing of the plantar skin removal site.In the experimental group, the foot pad was used for rehabilitation care besides the routine treatment in the control group. The two groups were compared in terms of scarring and adverse reactions at the plantar skin removal site.SPSS 25.0 software was used for statistical analysis. Results Within 1 week after healing, the number of patients in the experimental group who had subcutaneous bruising and rupture was less than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).At 3 months after healing, the experimental group behaved better than the control group in scarring, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The foot pad developed with simple structure and easy operation can be used for rehabilitation exercise of patients after plantar skinning.[Chinese Medical Equipment Journal,2025,46(3):115-117]
