Objective: To investigate the causes and characteristics of immune hemolytic transfusion reactions (HTRs) triggered by anti-E antibodies, so as to provide a scientific reference for guaranteeing clinical blood transfusion safety. Methods: Five patients who experienced HTRs in our hospital from November 2023 to October 2024 were selected as the research subjects. ABO/RhD blood grouping, antibody screening, antibody identification, and the direct antiglobulin test (DAT) were conducted using the column agglutination method. The causes of HTRs in these patients were investigated using multiple techniques such as the two-step enzyme method, polyethylene glycol (PEG), acid elution technique, and capillary centrifugation method. Results: All five patients tested negative for antibody screening prior to transfusion. However, after transfusion of E+ phenotyped blood, patients 1, 2, 3, and 5 developed delayed haemolytic transfusion reaction (DHTR), while patient 4 experienced acute haemolytic transfusion reaction (AHTR). Anti-E antibodies were detected in all blood samples from the patients after the hemolytic transfusion reaction, including the enzyme-only anti-E antibody in two cases. Conclusion: Anti-E antibody can trigger both intravascular and extravascular hemolysis. It is recommended to conduct ABO/RhD and RhE antigen-matched transfusions and establish a regional blood transfusion database to reduce immune hemolytic transfusion reactions caused by anti-E antibody.

As an important part of tumor microenvironment, neutrophils are poorly understood due to their spatiotemporal heterogeneity in tumorigenesis. Here we defined, at single-cell resolution, CD44-CXCR2- neutrophils as tumor-specific neutrophils (tsNeus) in both mouse and human gastric cancer (GC). We uncovered a Hippo regulon in neutrophils with unique YAP signature genes (e.g., ICAM1, CD14, EGR1) distinct from those identified in epithelial and/or cancer cells. Importantly, knockout of YAP/TAZ in neutrophils impaired their differentiation into CD54+ tsNeus and reduced their antitumor activity, leading to accelerated GC progression. Moreover, the relative amounts of CD54+ tsNeus were found to be negatively associated with GC progression and positively associated with patient survival. Interestingly, GC patients receiving neoadjuvant chemotherapy had increased numbers of CD54+ tsNeus. Furthermore, pharmacologically enhancing YAP activity selectively activated neutrophils to suppress refractory GC, with no significant inflammation-related side effects. Thus, our work characterized tumor-specific neutrophils in GC and revealed an essential role of YAP/TAZ-CD54 axis in tsNeus, opening a new possibility to develop neutrophil-based antitumor therapeutics.

OBJECTIVE To investigate the effects of Angelica sinensis polysaccharide on the apoptosis of cardiomyocytes in diabetic KK-Ay mice. METHODS KK-Ay mice were randomly divided into model group， metformin group （200 mg/kg） and A. sinensis polysaccharide high-dose， medium-dose and low-dose groups （400， 200 and 100 mg/kg）； C57BL/6J mice were included in blank group， with 8 mice in each group. Each group was given relevant medicine intragastrically or normal saline， once a day， for consecutive 4 weeks. After the final administration， the levels of fasting glucose， total cholesterol （TC）， low-density lipoprotein cholesterol （LDL-C） and insulin （INS） were detected； the protein expressions of B-cell lymphoma 2 （Bcl-2）， cleaved- caspase-3， apoptosis signal-regulated kinase 1 （ASK1）， phosphorylated c-Jun N-terminal kinase （p-JNK）， phosphorylated inositol- requiring enzyme 1α （p-IRE1α） in myocardium， and apoptosis in cardiomyocytes were also detected. RESULTS Compared with model group， the fasting glucose， TC and LDL-C content， apoptotic rate of cardiomyocyte， protein expressions of p-JNK and p- IRE1α， ASK1， cleaved-caspase-3 were significantly lower in the metformin group and A. sinensis polysaccharide medium-dose， high-dose groups； INS level and relative expression of Bcl-2 protein were significantly increased （P＜0.05 or P＜0.01）. CONCLUSIONS A. sinensis polysaccharide can improve the levels of blood glucose and blood lipid and inhibit cardiomyocyte apoptosis in diabetic KK-Ay mice， and the mechanism may be related to the inhibition of IRE1/ASK1/JNK signaling pathway.

Objective:To explore the current status of discharge readiness and social support in patients of colorectal neoplasms after natural orifice specimen extraction surgery (NOSES) , and to analyze the correlation between them.Methods:The convenient sampling method was used to select 200 patients with colorectal neoplasms after NOSES in Department of Colorectal Surgery of a ClassⅢ Grade A tumor hospital in Beijing from January 2018 to October 2019 as the research objects. They were investigated by General information questionnaire, Readiness for Hospital Discharge Scale (RHDS) and Social Support Rating Scale (SSRS) .Results:The total scores of RHDS and SSRS of 200 patients with colorectal neoplasms were respectively (154.69±33.66) and (42.09±8.74) . The total score of RHDS was positively correlated with the total score of SSRS ( P<0.01) . Conclusions:Discharge readiness and social support of patients of colorectal neoplasms after NOSES are at a moderate level. Medical staff should make full use of the social support system to help patients adopt active coping methods and improve their discharge readiness.

Objective To investigate if distribution of stone composition and onset age in the upper urinary tract changed during the past 12 years in China.Methods There were 1 878 urolithiasis patients of the upper urinary tract in our hospital from 2003 to 2014 enrolled in present cross-sectional study.There were 1 300 male and 578 female patients with a median onset age of 46 (6-95) years.Stone composition was measured by infrared spectrophotometry.All the patients were divided into 3 groups according to the onset year:Year 2003-2006,Year 2007-2010 and Year 2011-2014.The distributions of stone types were compared among the 3 groups.Age and gender were included as potential confounders.Chi square test,P trend test,Kruskal-Wallis test and logistic regression were employed in the statistical analysis.Results Calcium oxalate was the most common type with a dominant proportion of 78.1％ (1 466/1 878),while uric acid had a small proportion of 4.8％ (91/1 878).The proportions of uric acid in the 3 groups were 2.7％ (12/441),5.1％ (39/758) and 5.9％ (40/679),showing an increasing trend (P ＜0.05).Multivariate analysis showed that year group was independently correlated with the proportion of uric acid,with an OR of 1.385 (95％ CI,1.027-1.867).From 2003 to 2014,the proportion of uric acid calculus increased by 0.42％ (95％ CI,0.25％-0.59％) annually.The median ages of disease onset were 43,46 and 49 years respectively in those three groups,also showing an increasing trend with time (P ＜0.01).Conclusion From 2003 to 2014,the proportion of uric acid and onset age in patients of upper urinary tract calculi were increased in the present cohort.

Objective To investigate the proportion , risk factors and tendency of change of stone composition in recurrent urolithiasis .Methods Eighty-five recurrent urolithiasis patients from 2002 to 2014 were enrolled in this retrospective cohort study .There were 61 male and 24 female patients with a median age of 51 (21-89) years at initial events.Among those patients, 70 had two events, 12 had three events, and 3 had more than 3 events.Compositions of initial and recurrent stones were measured by infrared spectrophotometry.Stone type, recurrence interval and recurrence frequency were studied as potential risk factors for composition change . Chi square test and logistic regression analysis were employed in the statistical analysis.Results Stone composition changed during recurrence in 26 patients ( 30.6%) . Univariate analysis showed the risk ratio of composition change in the patients with recurrence interval of 1-5 years was 0.518 (95%CI, 0.277-0.967, P<0.05) when compared with those of less than 1 year or more than 5 years.Logistic regression analysis showed the odds ratio of recurrence interval of 1-5 years was 0.231 (95%CI, 0.075-0.707, P=0.010).The mutual conversion between calcium oxalate and infection stones was mostly observed when stone composition changed during recurrence .Twenty percent of calcium oxalate stones changed to infection stones and 29.2% of infection stones changed to calcium oxalate .
Conclusions Stone composition changes in about one third patients of recurrent urolithiasis .The mutual conversion between calcium oxalate and infection stones is the most common change .Recurrence interval is an independent risk factor to predict composition change .Repeated stone analysis should be suggested to patients with recurrent interval of less than 1 year or more than 5 years.

Directive 2004/24/EC of the European Parliament and the Council entered into force on April 30th, 2004. After 7 years, there is no Chinese medicine to be registered successfully in European market as traditional herbal medicinal products. The thesis gives some ideas to tackle this problem. Procedure for the Preparation of Community Monographs for Traditional Herbal Medicinal Products (EMEA/HMPC/182320/2005) published by European Medicines Agency is an important guidance for traditional herbal products to enter European Community monographs. The thesis introduces and details the procedure as well as gives feasible suggestions about the procedure. It suggests that Chinese medicines enter European Community monographs first, and then apply the registration according to the directive 2004/24/EC. This is an easier access to European market.

By systemically sorting of non-medical literatures of pre-Qin dynasty such as the Thirteen Confucian Classics, etc, this article made an analysis on the meaning and content of flavor in that period with the Genesis and Epistemology, and pointed out that there were two meanings of the flavor: the first is the flavor or taste obtained by tasting, and the other is the five-elements flavor, a abstract flavor. The former flavor should be originated early than the later one. Besides, the article made a brief view on the functions of flavors in the health keeping and medicine.

There were 268 kinds of medicines recorded in the book of Lei Gong's Treatise on preparation and broiling of materia medica (Leigong Paozhi Lun). Among these medicines, 178 medicines were prepared with adjuvant medicines, including general and special compatible adjuvant medicines. These adjuvant medicines used in this book can be explained by the theory of "seven-relation compatibility". The author tried to explain the usage and their compatibility of these adjuvant medicines and put forward that attention should be paid to the changes in functions of medicines and the influences of society should be paid attention.
