Objective:To investigate the relationship between the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator(MBTI)personality traits,empathy ability,and emotion regulation among medical students,and to advocate for medical students to conduct in-depth self-analysis using MBTI,and to enhance their empathy ability in a targeted manner,thereby more effectively building harmonious doctor-patient relationships.Methods:A total of 664 medical students were investigated using the MBTI,the Chinese version of the Emotion Regulation Questionnaire(ERQ),and the Chinese version of the Interpersonal Reactivity Index(IRI).The mediation analysis in SPSSAU employed the product coefficient test method,utilizing Bootstrap sampling for data analysis.Results:The MBTI personality traits of medical students were generally inclined to Introversion-Sensing-Thinking-Judging(ISTJ).Medical students tended to use cognitive reappraisal,and the level of empathy needed to be strengthened.Males exhibited higher expressive inhibition than females,while females experienced greater personal distress than males.Expressive inhibition was also higher in only children compared to non-only children,and only children showed lower emotional empathy than non-only children.Cognitive reappraisal played a partial mediating role in the relationship between introverted/extraverted personality traits and personal distress among medical students(mediating effect=-0.017,accounting for 14.217%of the total effect),and a complete mediating effect between introverted/extraverted personality traits and emotional empathy(mediating effect=0.024,accounting for 100%of the total effect).Cognitive reappraisal partially mediated the relationship between life attitude orientation and emotional empathy(mediating effect=0.017,accounting for 15.727%of the total effect),and served as a partial mediator in the relationship between life attitude orientation and cognitive empathy(mediating effect=0.171,accounting for 25.827%of the total effect).Conclusion:Cognitive reappraisal has a mediating effect on the relationship between medical students'MBTI personality traits and empathy,guiding medical students to improve empathy abilities using cognitive reappraisal.Medical students can further understand their strengths and weaknesses by identifying their MBTI types,and improve their empathy ability in a targeted manner,to better adapt to future medical work.

Objective To investigate the correlation between thyroid function,neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio(NLR),platelet/lymphocyte ratio(PLR)and diabetic ketoacidosis(DKA).Methods A total of 272 diabetic patients admitted to the Department of Endocrinology,Anhui No.2 Provincial People's Hospital were enrolled in this study from January 2021 to March 2024 and divided into DKA group(n=74),diabetic ketosis group(DK group,n=100)and simple DM group(n=98)according to their disease conditions.Serum free triiodothyronine(FT3),free tetraiodothyronine(FT4),thyroid stimulating hormone(TSH),FPG,HbA1c,anion gap(AG),white blood cells(WBC),neutrophils(N),platelets(PLT)and lymphocytes(L)were detected in each group,and NLR and PLR were calculated.The influence factors of DKA were analyzed by logistic regression,and the diagnostic value of FT3,NLR and PLR in DKA was evaluated by receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve.Results Hospitalization days,FPG,HbA1c,incidence of LT3S,AG,WBC,N,PLT,NLR,PLR were higher in DKA group than in DM and DK groups(P<0.05),Age,FT3,FT4,TSH,L were lower in DKA group than in DM and DK groups(P<0.05).Logistic regression analysis showed that FT3,AG,NLR and PLR were the influencing factors for DKA.ROC curve showed that the area under the curve of FT3,NLR,PLR and combined detection to predict DKA were 0.961,0.938,0.810 and 0.980,the sensitivity was 87.8%,90.5%,75.7%and 98.6%,the specificity was 95.5%,92.9%,76.3%,92.4%,and the combined detection was superior to the single detection.Conclusions FT3,NLR,PLR have a certain diagnostic value for DKA,and the combined detection of the three has a high diagnostic value,which can provide a reference for clinical diagnosis of DKA.

Objective:To carry out opening experiments on occupational health and occupational medicine for students majoring in preventive medicine, reform the experimental teaching mode, and explore the teaching methods to improve students' professional quality and scientific research ability.Methods:Opening experiments were carried out in the experimental course of occupational health and occupational medicine for students of preventive medicine major. A total of 147 students majoring in preventive medicine of Batch 2016 were classified as the control group, and the routine confirmatory experiment was carried out in the group; 176 students majoring in preventive medicine of Batch 2017 were classified as the experimental group, and this group carried out opening experiment. The evaluation was made from three aspects: comprehensive evaluation results, teacher self-evaluation and student satisfaction survey. SPSS 22.0 software was used for analysis and comparison by independent-samples t-test and Chi-square test. Results:The theoretical scores of the experimental group and the control group students were (84.37±10.45) vs. (81.44±9.22) ( t=2.68, P=0.008), and the experimental skills scores were (93.66±3.89) vs. (88.41±5.67) ( t=9.51, P<0.001). Questionnaire investigation showed that the students in the opening experimental group were more satisfied with the courses arrangement ( χ2=8.31, P=0.004), group cooperation ( χ2=21.10, P<0.001), assessment form ( χ2 =7.92, P=0.005), improvement of the writing ability of scientific research papers ( χ2 =17.56, P<0.001), improvement of practical skills ( χ2=11.70, P=0.001), logical thinking, language organization and expression ability ( χ2=10.33, P=0.001). They considered the opening experiment was helpful to cultivate innovative thinking and ability, but it had limited effect on the cultivation of employment advantages. And the students considered the opening experiments of setting up professional courses was sufficient and necessary. Conclusion:Carrying out opening experiments for students majoring in preventive medicine is helpful to improve students' professional quality and cultivate their practical ability and scientific research ability.

Objective: To analyze the clinical symptoms and hereditary information of suspicious juvenile neuronal ceroid-lipofuscinosis (JNCL) and determine the genotype in order to explore the diagnosis clues in the patients with ophthalmologic manifestations being initial symptom. Methods: A case-control study was performed in this study.Two families were included in Eye Hospital of Wenzhou Medical in 2013 and 2017, respectively.Medical histories were collected and all participants underwent comprehensive ophthalmologic examinations, and the best corrected visual acuity (BCVA) was obtained.Fundus photography and optical coherence tomography (OCT) were used to image the retinal signs, and visual electrophysiology was recorded to evaluate the visual function.Genomic DNA of 3 patients who initially visited to ophthalmologists and 5 unaffected family members were extracted.Whole exome sequencing (WES), targeted exome sequencing (TES), Sanger sequencing and comprehensive analyses of pathogenicity were performed to determine the genetic cause of the patients.This study was approved by Ethics Committee of Eye Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University (KYK-2017-7), and written informed consent was obtained from each subject prior to any medical examination. Results: All patients presented bull eye sign and disorder of pigment on the fundus photograph, and the retinas were thinning on the OCT image, indicating the diffuse retinal pigment epithelium atrophy of macula and loss of outer layer structure of retina.Three mutations in CLN3 gene were identified by WES, TES, Sanger validation and assessments of pathogenicity, including c. 154T>C(p.Y52H), c.982G>C(p.A328P) and c. 906+ 5G>A, among which p. A328P was a novel mutation.Patients of F1 family harbored the compound heterozygous mutations c. 154T>C (p.Y52H) and c. 982G>C(p.A328P), while proband of F2 family harbored the homozygous splice site mutation c. 906+ 5G>A, which was reported to be a pathogenic mutation of JNCL.Co-segregation and comprehensive pathogenicity analysis revealed that the compound heterozygous mutations in F1 family and the homozygous mutation in a splice site in F2 family were the genetic causes of their phenotypes. Conclusions A novel mutation in CLN3 gene for JNCL is identified, which expands the mutation spectrum of CLN3 gene.Considering the high clinical heterogeneity of inherited retinal diseases, especially syndromic cases, genetic test through next generation plays a vital role in diagnosis, guiding future treatment and prognostic evaluation.
