Wound repair and infection have long posed significant challenges in clinical medicine.Am-phibians,adapting to complex environments through long-term natural selection,have evolved skin sys-tems with remarkable abilities to resist external damage and promote rapid wound healing,making them an important source for discovering candidate molecules for wound healing.In this study,a novel peptide composed of 22 amino acids,with the sequence"VGKAGLETAACKATNSCFNIDW"and a molecular weight of 2299.6 D,was screened from the cDNA library of Odorrana tormota and named PN-VW22.The peptide was synthesized by solid-phase synthesis,and its effects on cell proliferation were evaluated using the CCK-8 assay and scratch wound healing assay in human keratinocytes(HaCaT)and mouse em-bryonic fibroblasts(NIH3T3).Antibacterial activity was assessed by determining the minimum inhibitory concentration(MIC).Results showed that PN-VW22 at various concentrations had no significant effect on the cell viability in NIH3T3 cells(P＞0.05),but significantly enhanced HaCaT cell viability at 0.5μmol/L(P＜0.001).Meanwhile,PN-VW22 induced cell proliferation and promoted wound healing in HaCaT cells,with a healing rate of 64.44％after 24 h incubation at 0.5 μmol/L.Furthermore,PN-VW22 exhibited antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus with an MIC value of 13.92 μmol/L.In sum,this study identified PN-VW22 as a novel bifunctional peptide with both wound repair and anti-infective properties,providing a new toxin peptide template for the development of wound healing drugs.

Objective:To study the influencing factors of postpartum post-traumatic stress disorder(PTSD)in pregnant women in the third trimester of pregnancy based on propensity score matching(PSM).Methods:A retrospective analysis was conducted on clinical data of 220 pregnant women in the third trimester who visited our hospital from October 2022 to October 2024,they were divided into PTSD group(n=52)and non-PTSD group(n=168)based on whether PTSD occurred.PSM was adopted to match the age,body mass index(BMI),educational level,average monthly income per capita,natural conception,premature birth,pregnancy complications,first delivery,insomnia,the progress of labor,parenting methods,infant health status and postpartum depression of the two groups at a 1∶1 ratio.After matching,Logistic regression was used to analyze the influencing factors of postpartum PTSD in pregnant women in the third trimester of pregnancy.Result:When comparing the educational level,natural conception,premature birth,pregnancy complications,progress of labor and postpartum depression of the two groups before matching,the differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05).When comparing the comparisons of educational level,natural conception,premature birth,pregnancy complications,progress of labor and postpartum depression of the two groups after matching,the differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05).Logistic regression analysis showed that junior high school education level or below,non-natural conception,premature birth,pregnancy complications,abnormal labor process and postpartum depression were risk factors for PTSD(P＜0.05).Conclusion:Based on PCM,it was found that low educational level,non-natural conception,premature birth,pregnancy complications,abnormal labor process and postpartum depression are risk factors for postpartum PTSD in pregnant women in the third trimester of pregnancy,and reasonable preventive interventions could be taken as early as possible in pregnant women with high risk of PTSD.

The chemical constituents in dried roots of Atractylodes macrocephala were investigated in this study. Through utilizing normal-phase silica gel and ODS column chromatography, TLC, and semi-preparative HPLC, 4 new sesquiterpenoids were purified from the ethyl acetate extract of A. macrocephala. By various spectroscopic techniques, such as 1D and 2D NMR, HR-ESI-MS, IR, UV, and CD, their structures were identified as atractylmacron A (1), 9β-hydroxyasterolide (2), atractylenolide H (3), atractylenolide J (4). Compound 1 possesses a rare 6/7 bicyclic skeleton.

This study was aimed at evaluating the characteristics of H9N2 subtype avian influenza viruses(AIVs)origina-ting from wild birds in major wetlands in Fujian.Five H9N2 subtype AIVs isolated from fecal samples from wild birds in wet-lands of the Minjiang River,Jiulong River,Sandu Bay,Xinghua Bay,and Quanzhou Bay in Fujian were sequenced.Sequence a-nalysis of the HA genes of the five H9N2 subtype AIVs indicated that the five isolates shared 89.8％-99.4％nucleotide se-quence identity.All five isolates belonged to the same h9.4.2.5c evolutionary branch.The cleavage site motifs of HA were all PSRSSR ↓ GLF,thus indicating molecular characteristics of AIVs with low pathogenicity.The HA proteins of the viruses orig-inating from wild birds bore eight identical potential glycosylation sites,among which the glycosylation site at position 313 was located near the HA protein cleavage site.The 226th amino acid of HA in the receptor binding site was leucine in each virus,thus indicating that HAs of the five H9N2 subtype AIVs had mammalian sialic acid α-2,6 receptor binding affinity.In conclu-sion,the five H9N2 subtype AIVs originating from wild birds in Fujian had low pathogenicity,and the HAs had mammalian sialic acid α-2,6 receptor binding affinity.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the spatiotemporal patterns and socioeconomic factors influencing the incidence of tuberculosis (TB) in the Guangdong Province between 2010 and 2019. METHOD: Spatial and temporal variations in TB incidence were mapped using heat maps and hierarchical clustering. Socioenvironmental influencing factors were evaluated using a Bayesian spatiotemporal conditional autoregressive (ST-CAR) model. RESULTS: Annual incidence of TB in Guangdong decreased from 91.85/100,000 in 2010 to 53.06/100,000 in 2019. Spatial hotspots were found in northeastern Guangdong, particularly in Heyuan, Shanwei, and Shantou, while Shenzhen, Dongguan, and Foshan had the lowest rates in the Pearl River Delta. The ST-CAR model showed that the TB risk was lower with higher per capita Gross Domestic Product (GDP) [Relative Risk ( RR), 0.91; 95% Confidence Interval ( CI): 0.86-0.98], more the ratio of licensed physicians and physician ( RR, 0.94; 95% CI: 0.90-0.98), and higher per capita public expenditure ( RR, 0.94; 95% CI: 0.90-0.97), with a marginal effect of population density ( RR, 0.86; 95% CI: 0.86-1.00). CONCLUSION The incidence of TB in Guangdong varies spatially and temporally. Areas with poor economic conditions and insufficient healthcare resources are at an increased risk of TB infection. Strategies focusing on equitable health resource distribution and economic development are the key to TB control.

OBJECTIVE: To elucidate how spinal manipulative therapy (SMT) exerts its analgesic effects through regulating brain function in lumbar disc herniation (LDH) patients by utilizing resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging (rs-fMRI). METHODS: From September 2021 to September 2023, we enrolled LDH patients (LDH group, n=31) and age- and sex-matched healthy controls (HCs, n=28). LDH group underwent rs-fMRI at 2 distinct time points (TPs): prior to the initiation of SMT (TP1) and subsequent to the completion of the SMT sessions (TP2). SMT was administered once every other day for 30 min per session, totally 14 treatment sessions over a span of 4 weeks. HCs did not receive SMT treatment and underwent only one fMRI scan. Additionally, participants in LDH group completed clinical questionnaires on pain using the Visual Analog Scale (VAS) and the Japanese Orthopedic Association (JOA) score, whereas HCs did not undergo clinical scale assessments. The effects on the brain were jointly characterized using the amplitude of low-frequency fluctuations (ALFF) and regional homogeneity (ReHo). Correlation analyses were conducted between specific brain regions and clinical scales. RESULTS: Following SMT treatment, pain symptoms in LDH patients were notably alleviated and accompanied by evident activation of effects in the brain. In comparison to TP1, TP2 exhibited the most significant increase in ALFF values for Temporal_Sup_R and the most notable decrease in ALFF values for Paracentral_Lobule_L (voxelwise P<0.005; clusters >30; FDR correction). Additionally, the most substantial enhancement in ReHo values was observed for the Cuneus_R, while the most prominent reduction was noted for the Olfactory_R (voxelwise P<0.005; clusters >30; FDR correction). Moreover, a comparative analysis revealed that, in contrast to HCs, LDH patients at TP1 exhibited the most significant increase in ALFF values for Temporal_Pole_Sup_L and the most notable decrease in ALFF values for Frontal_Mid_L (voxelwise P<0.005; clusters >30; FDR correction). Furthermore, the most significant enhancement in ReHo values was observed for Postcentral_L, while the most prominent reduction was identified for ParaHippocampal_L (voxelwise P<0.005; clusters >30; FDR correction). Notably, correlation analysis with clinical scales revealed a robust positive correlation between the Cuneus_R score and the rate of change in the VAS score (r=0.9333, P<0.0001). CONCLUSIONS Long-term chronic lower back pain in patients with LDH manifests significant activation of the "AUN-DMN-S1-SAN" neural circuitry. The visual network, represented by the Cuneus_R, is highly likely to be a key brain network in which the analgesic efficacy of SMT becomes effective in treating LDH patients.
