Digital technologies have become an integral part of complete denture restoration. With advancement in computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM), tools such as intraoral scanning, facial scanning, 3D printing, and numerical control machining are reshaping the workflow of complete denture restoration. Unlike conventional methods that rely heavily on clinical experience and manual techniques, digital technologies offer greater precision, predictability, and efficacy. They also streamline the process by reducing the number of patient visits and improving overall comfort. Despite these improvements, the clinical application of digital complete denture restoration still faces challenges that require further standardization. The major issues include appropriate case selection, establishing consistent digital workflows, and evaluating long-term outcomes. To address these challenges and provide clinical guidance for practitioners, this expert consensus outlines the principles, advantages, and limitations of digital complete denture technology. The aim of this review was to offer practical recommendations on indications, clinical procedures and precautions, evaluation metrics, and outcome assessment to support digital restoration of complete denture in clinical practice.

2.Effects of electrical field stimulation on the proliferation and migration of Schwann cells

Objective To establish an electrical field(EF)stimulation model for Schwann cells(SCs),and to provide a basis for exploring the mechanisms of EF stimulation in promoting proliferation,migration and epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition of SCs.Methods A YC-3 bipolar programmable electrical stimulator and an electrotaxis chamber were used to construct an EF stimulation system to stimulate SCs.In the study,SCs were divided into control group(Ctrl)receiving no EF stimulation and EF group stimulated by continuous constant-voltage EF(100 mV/mm,3 h).The effects of EF stimulation on the proliferation and migration of SCs were analyzed using CCK-8 assay,and wound healing assay+Transwell assay,separately;and its effect on SCs adhesion was observed by analyzing the expressions of E-cadherin and N-cadherin using Western Blot.Results The CCK-8 assay results suggested that the absorbance at 450 nm was significantly higher in EF group than in Ctrl group(P<0.05).The results of wound healing assay+Transwell assay revealed that EF group had higher cell migration efficiency than Ctrl group(P<0.05).Western Blot results showed decreased E-cadherin expression and increased N-cadherin expression in EF group as compared with Ctrl group(P<0.05).Conclusion The improved EF stimulation system for SCs is operable.EF stimulation can promote the proliferation and migration of SCs.The decreased E-cadherin expression and increased N-cadherin expression may be related to the occurrence of epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition in SCs after EF stimulation.

4.Collateral score based on CT perfusion can predict the prognosis of patients with anterior circulation ischemic stroke after thrombectomy.

OBJECTIVETo evaluate the value of collateral score based on CT perfusion (CTP-CS) in predicting the clinical outcome of patients with anterior circulation ischemic stroke after thrombectomy.
METHODSClinical data of acute ischemic stroke patients with anterior artery occlusion undergoing endovascular treatment in the Second Affiliated Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine during October 2013 and October 2016 were retrospectively reviewed. Collateral scores were assessed based on CTP and digital subtraction angiography (DSA) images, respectively. And DSA-CS or CTP-CS 3-4 was defined as good collateral vessels. Good clinical outcome was defined as a modified Rankin Scale (mRS) ≤ 2 at 3 months after stroke. The binary logistic regression model was used to analyze the correlation between the collateral score and clinical outcome, and the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was used to analyze the value of DSA-CS and CTP-CS in predicting the clinical outcome.
RESULTSAmong 40 patients, 33 (82.5%) acquired recanalization and 16 (40.0%) got good outcome. Compared with poor outcome group, the collateral score (all<0.05) and the rate of good collateral vessels were higher in good outcome group (all<0.01). After adjust baseline National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) and onset to recanalization time (ORT), good collateral vessels were independent factor of good outcome (CTP-CS:=48.404, 95%:1.373-1706.585,<0.05; DSA-CS:=34.651, 95%:1.147-1047.018,<0.05). Collateral scores based on CTP and DSA had good consistency (=0.697,<0.01), and ROC curve showed that the predictive value of CTP-CS and DSA-CS were comparable (both AUC=0.726, 95%:0.559-0.893,<0.05).
CONCLUSIONSCTP-CS can predict the clinical outcome of patients with anterior circulation ischemic stroke after thrombectomy.
5.Clinical application of real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR for the detection of fecal tumor M2-pyruvate kinase in colorectal cancer patients

Objective To investigate the application valve of real-time fluorescence quantitative polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR) for the detection of tumor M2-pyruvate kinase(tM2-PK) DNA in patients with colorectal cancer(CRC).Methods Fragment of tM2-PK DNA(162 bp) was amplified and inserted into PGM-T vector to construct recombinant plasmid,which was used to develop RT-PCR method.Sensitivity,specificity and repeatability of RT-PCR for the detection of tM2-PK were analyzed.From Jan.2014 to Jun.2016,200 CRC patients and 100 healthy subjects were enrolled and detected for fecal and serum tM2-PK DNA by using RT-PCR,and the detected results were compared with those detected by using enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).Results Recombinant plasmid was successfully constructed,which was certified by sequencing.The sensitivity of RT-PCR for the detection of tM2-PK DNA was 10 copy/mL,with high specificity and 0.3%-2.9% of coefficient of variation.In patients,the positive rate of fecal tM2-PK DNA,detected by RT-PCR,was 92.50%,and that of ELISA to detect tM2-PK was 80.00%.Fecal and serum levels of tM2-PK were correlated with the pathologic stages of tumour.Conclusion Self-established RT-PCR could be specificity and sensitivity for the detection of fecal tM2-PK,which could be used for the early diagnosis of CRC.
6.Clinical Observation of 2 Kinds of Glucocorticoid Administration Regimens for Elderly Patients with AE-COPD

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the effects and safety of 2 kinds of glucocorticoid administration regimens including 5 d and 15 d on clinical efficacy,pulmonary function,quality of life in elderly patients with acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(AECOPD). METHODS:A total of 160 elderly patients with AECOPD selected from Haikou Forth People's Hos-pital during May 2013-Dec. 2015 were divided into group A and B according to lottery method,with 80 cases in each group. Both groups received symptomatic treatment as eliminating phlegm and relieving asthma,controlling infection,etc. Based on it,group A was given Methylprednisolone sodium succinate for injection,40 mg/d for 15 d;group B was given Methylprednisolone sodium succinate for injection,40 mg/d for 5 d. Clinical efficacies were compared between 2 groups as well as the levels of pulmonary ven-tilation function indexes,blood gas analysis indexes,Spitzer life quality index scale (QLI) scores before and after treatment. The occurrence of ADR was also compared between 2 groups. RESULTS:Total response rate of group A was 92.50%,and that of group B was 90.00%,without statistical significance(P>0.05). Before treatment,there was no statistical significance in the levels of pulmonary ventilation function indexes,blood gas analysis indexes,QLI scores between 2 groups (P>0.05). After treatment, FVC,FEV1,FEV1% and PaO2 of 2 groups were significantly higher than before treatment,while PaCO2 was significantly lower than before treatment,with statistical significance (P<0.05);there was no statistical significance between 2 groups (P>0.05). QLI scores of 2 groups were significantly higher than before treatment,and the group B was significantly higher than the group A, with statistical significance (P<0.05). The incidence of ADR in group B (6.25%) was significantly lower than group A (22.50%),with statistical significance(P<0.05). CONCLUSIONS:Glucocorticoid administration regimen including 5 d and 15 d in the treatment of elderly patients with AECOPD possess the same effects in improving lung function;glucocorticoid administra-tion regimen for 5 d application is superior in effectively improving the quality of life of patients,reducing the risk of ADR,and has clinical value.
7.Application of quantum dots immune fluorescent labelling in colorectal cancer tissues

Objective To investigate different antigens detected by a novel labelled reagent‐quantum dots(QDs) in the colorectal cancer tissues microarray(TMA) .Methods Depend on QDs streptavidin conjugate(QDs‐SA) combined specially with biotinylation IgG ,immune of luorescent histochemistry was utilized to examine expression of K‐ras ,matrix‐remodeling associated 5(MXRA5) proteins in the colorectal cancer TMA ,where the protein accurate location was observed .Results K‐ras ,matrix‐remodeling associ‐ated 5(MXRA5) proteins were high expressed in colorectal cancer tissue and located accurately in the cell membrane and nucleus of colorectal cancer cells ,respectively .Conclusion QDs exhibit excellent photostability ,broad emission spectrum and long fluorescence lifetime .Modified with streptavidin could accurately detect different protein locations in the colorectal cancer TMA .This is a novel approach for studying targeted imaging of colorectal cancer in vivo and vitro clinical diagnosis .
