Background Patients with pneumoconiosis often have limited disease-related knowledge, insufficient access to health education, and substantial health management needs. Health education may help improve rehabilitation outcomes and quality of life in this population. Objective To evaluate the effects of health education based on the Listen-Establish-Adopt-Reinforce-Name-Strength (LEARNS) model on rehabilitation outcomes, health-related behaviors, and quality of life among pneumoconiosis patients, and provide effective intervention strategies for the rehabilitation management of patients with pneumoconiosis. Methods A randomized controlled trial was conducted. A total of 120 pneumoconiosis patients treated in the Department of Occupational Diseases, Beijing Emergency General Hospital, from November 2024 to February 2025 were enrolled. Participants were randomly assigned to a control group or an intervention group using a random number table method, with 60 patients in each group. The control group received routine pharmacotherapy, whereas the intervention group received a 12-week LEARNS model-based health-education intervention in addition to routine treatment. The 6-Minute Walk Test (6MWT) was used to assess exercise tolerance, and the modified Medical Research Council dyspnoea scale (mMRC) was used to evaluate dyspnoea. The Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (SAS) and Self-Rating Depression Scale (SDS) were applied for psychological status assessment. Pulmonary function, including forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV1) and forced vital capacity (FVC), was measured using spirometry. A self-designed scale was used to evaluate eight health-related behaviors targeted by the health education program. The 36-Item Short-Form Health Survey (SF-36) and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) Assessment Test (CAT) were used to assess quality of life, and the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) was adopted to evaluate sleep quality. Results After the 12-week intervention, the control group showed no statistically significant changes from baseline in the measured outcomes(P>0.05). In the intervention group, exercise tolerance improved significantly, with the 6-minute walking distance increasing from (382.55±19.52) m to (426.84±33.59) m (P<0.001). Dyspnoea was also alleviated, with the mMRC score decreasing from 1.37±0.66 to 0.96±0.54 (P<0.001). The CAT score decreased from 18.95±7.03 to 10.67±3.64 (P<0.001). Significant improvements were observed in anxiety and depression symptoms (P<0.001), with the SAS score decreasing from 38.85±6.24 to 34.27±2.27, and the SDS score decreasing from 49.01±3.25 to 45.49±3.44. Sleep quality improved significantly, with the PSQI score dropping from 7.89±4.35 to 4.05±2.31 (P<0.001). All eight health-related behaviors in the intervention group improved significantly after the intervention (P<0.001), including acquisition of disease-related knowledge (1.87±0.34 vs. 3.13±0.45), participation in health education activities (1.89±0.52 vs. 3.61±0.38), and regular physical exercise (2.37±0.41 vs. 4.17±0.33). All SF-36 domain scores increased significantly (P<0.05), with the most prominent improvements observed in physical functioning, general health, and vitality. At week 12, all SF-36 domain scores were significantly higher in the intervention group than in the control group (P<0.05). No statistically significant between-group differences were detected in pulmonary function parameters (P>0.05). Conclusion LEARNS model-based health education could improve exercise tolerance, dyspnea, psychological status, sleep quality, health-related behaviors, and quality of life among patients with pneumoconiosis, and therefore may be a useful adjunctive strategy for rehabilitation management in patients with pneumoconiosis.

Objective:To investigate the clinical characteristics and surgical effects of acute calculous cholecystitis (ACC) in high altitude area of Tibet. Methods:The retrospective cohort study was conducted. The clinicopathological data of 182 ACC patients who underwent surgery in the 954th Hospital of Army from January 2016 to December 2020 were collected. There were 56 males and 126 females, aged (41±13)years. Of the 182 patients, 61 cases undergoing open cholecystec-tomy were divided into the open group, and 121 cases undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC) were divided into the laparoscopic group. Observation indicators: (1) clinical characteristics of ACC in high altitude area; (2) surgical situations; (3) postoperative complications; (4) follow-up. Follow-up was conducted using outpatient examination and telephone interview to detect postopera-tive complications of patients up to October 2021. Measurement data with normal distribution were represented as Mean± SD, and comparison between groups was conducted using the t test. Measure-ment data with skewed distribution were represented as M( Q1, Q3) or M(range), and comparison between groups was conducted using the Mann-Whitney U test. Count data were expressed as absolute numbers or percentages, and comparison between groups was conducted using the chi-square test. Results:(1) Clinical characteristics of ACC in high altitude area. Of the 182 patients, cases with symptom duration as <3 days, 3 days to 1 month, >1 month and ≤12 months, >12 months were 37, 43, 57, 45, respectively. Seventy-seven of the 182 patients were combined with other diseases before surgery. (2) Surgical situations. Two cases in the open group were found common bile duct stones during the operation, and underwent choledochotomy and T-tube drainage. Nine cases in the laparoscopic group were converted to laparotomy, including 3 cases with severe abdominal adhesion and ineffective hemostasis, 6 cases with anatomical variation of Calot triangle. The conversion to laparotomy rate was 7.438%(9/121). The other patients in the open group and the laparoscopic group completed surgery successfully. The operation time, volume of intraoperative blood loss, time to postoperative first out-of-bed activities, time to postoperative first flatus, cases with indwelling drainage tube, cases with acute simple cholecystitis, acute suppurative cholecystitis, acute gangrene cholecystitis, gallbladder perforation of disease pathological type, postoperative white cell count, postoperative neutrophil percentage, duration of postoperative hospital stay were (109±42)minutes, 50(45,100)mL, (16.1±1.5)hours, (31.4±11.9)hours, 33, 25, 27, 6, 3, (6.8±1.9)×10 9/L, 72.7%±7.4%, (7.3±1.7)days for the open group. OBJECTIVETo investigate the epidemiological status of cholestasis in first-hospitalized patients with chronic liver disease in Shanghai, and to provide a scientific basis for developing prevention and treatment measures.
METHODSFrom April 2005 to September 2014, 5,146 first-hospitalized patients in Shanghai with a diagnosis of chronic liver disease were enrolled in this study. Clinical data of the 4,660 patients who fit the study criteria for participation were collected for retrospective analysis.Diagnosis of cholestasis was made according to serum alkaline phosphatase (ALP) levels higher than 1.5 times the upper limit normal (ULN) and gamma-glutamyltransferase (GGT) levels higher than 3 times the ULN. The incidence rate of cholestasis was assessed for relation to age, sex, etiology, and type of liver disease, and statistically compared to the general clinical data and specific biochemical indicators with potential sex-related differences. T-test and chi-square test were performed for the statistical analyses.
RESULTSOf the 4,660 study participants, 10.26% had cholestasis; the prevalence of cholestasis increased with increasing age in male patients. The distribution of the cholestasis incidence according to the type of chronic liver disease was: 75.00%, primary sclerosing cholangitis; 42.86%, primary biliary cirrhosis; 35.97%, hepatic tumor; 30.77%, autoimmune hepatitis; 28.31%, drug-induced liver disease; 16.46%, alcoholic hepatitis; 13.98%, cryptogenic cirrhosis; 12.99%, schistosomal cirrhosis; 7.53%, alcoholic cirrhosis; 7.32%, mixed cirrhosis; 5.94%, viral liver cirrhosis; 2.70%, nonalcoholic fatty liver disease. There was no significant difference in the prevalence of cholestasis between the two sexes. In the patients with cholestasis, the levels of GGT and total bilirubin were significantly different between the two sexes.
CONCLUSIONThe incidence rate of cholestasis in first-hospitalized patients with chronic liver disease was 10.26%, and the rate increased with increased age. Patients with primary sclerosing cholangitis or primary biliary cirrhosis had higher incidence rates of cholestasis. Incidence rates of cholestasis of the various chronic liver diseases were not related to sex.

Objective To investigate the effect and the mechanism of Sorcin (soluble resistancerelated calcium-binding protein )on development of drug-resistance in human gastric cancer cell line. Methods The full length Sorein cDNA was isolated by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR).The FLAG-sorein-peDNA 3.1 plasmid was constructed by directed cloning of Sorein gene into the eukaryotie expression vector FLAG-peDNA 3.1,and was transfeeted into SGC7901 cells using liposome-mediated method. The expressions of Sorcin mRNA and protein in stable clone were detected by RT-PCR and Western blot. The intracellular concentration of Vineristine (VCR) in Sorein-transfected SGC7901 eells(SGC7901-F-Sor) and SGC7901 cells with or without Verapamil(VRP) was determined by high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC).Results The FLAG-Sorcin-peDNA3.1 plasmid vector was constructed successfully by DNA recombination and was transfected into SGC7901 cells.RT-PCR and Western blot analysis revealed that the expressions of Sorcin mRNA and the protein were up-regulated in SGC7901 F-Sor cells.Compared to the parent SGC7901 cells, the concentration of VCR in SGC7901-FSor cells was decreased by 76.89%,but it was increased by 2.41 times when treated with VRP.Conclusions Overexpression of Sorcin in SGC7901 cells results in decreasing concentration of VCR,which indicate that Sorcin may play a role in drug-resistance of SGC7901 cells by regulating the transference of chemotherapy drugs. The effect of Sorcin can be reversed by VRP.
