Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a common malignant tumor with a high mortality rate, an insidious onset, and complex pathological mechanisms. In the tumor microenvironment, tumor-promoting immune cells protect tumor cells from immune attacks, while dysfunction of anti-tumor immune cells causes the inhibition of immune response, thereby leading to the continuous deterioration of cancer. In recent years, traditional Chinese medicine has shown good efficacy in the treatment of HCC, and it can inhibit the proliferation and metastasis of cancer cells by regulating immune cells. By analyzing related articles in China and globally, this article summarizes how immune cells affect the progression of HCC through the immunosuppressive pathway and how traditional Chinese medicine exerts an anti-HCC effect by regulating immune cells, in order to provide theoretical basis and reference for optimizing the treatment of HCC.

Objective To establish a method for determination of aspirin(ASP)and salicylic acid(SA)in plasma of children with kawasaki disease by high performance liquid chromatography-isotope dilution mass spectrometry(HPLC-IDMS).Methods The samples were pre-treated by precipitation protein method with organic solvent.ASP-D4 and SA-D4 were used as isotope internal standards.Chromatographic column:Phenomenex Kinetex? XB C18(2.6 mm × 50.0 mm,3.0μm);flow phase:0.1%formic acid-water(A)and acetonitrile(B),gradient elution;flow speed:0.5 mL·min-1;injection volume:6 μL.The detection method of mass spectrometry was negative ion mode, multireaction monitoring mode for quantitative analysis. Results The linear range of aspirin was 1.02-4 000 ng·mL-1(r2=0.995 4),and lower limit of quantification(LLOQ)was 1.02 ng·mL-1.The linear range of salicylic acid was 1.28-5 000 ng·mL-1(r2=0.998 5),and LLOQ was 1.28 ng·mL-1.Accuracy,precision,matrix effect and stability were in line with the provisions of Chinese Pharmacopoeia(2020 edition). Conclusion This study determined the blood concentration of aspirin and salicylic acid in children with HPLC-IDMS,which is rapid, simple, stable, economical, and high specificity. It can be applied to therapeutic drug monitoring of aspirin and salicylic acid in clinical children with kawasaki disease.

OBJECTIVE To observe the clinical efficacy and effect on serum thymic stromal lymphopoietin(TSLP)levels of pa-tients with advanced liver cancer of qi deficiency and toxic stasis type by Jiawei Yupingfeng San.METHODS Using random double blind method,120 patients with advanced liver cancer of qi deficiency and toxic stasis type were randomly divided into 3 groups:Jiawei Yupingfeng San group,Yupingfeng San group, and placebo group, each consisting of 40 cases. All patients in the 3 groups were given conventional treatment such as radiotherapy, chemotherapy, interventional or targeted therapy;Jiawei Yupingfeng San group was given Jiawei Yupingfeng San granules,Yupingfeng San group was given Yupingfeng San granules, and placebo group was given placebo. The course of treatment was 2 months. The changes of Karnofsky functional status score(KPS score),TCM syndrome score, tumor size and serum TSLP level in the 3 groups were observed before and after treatment, and the correlation between the changes of tumor size and TSLP was analyzed.RESULTS After treatment, the KPS scores of Yupingfeng San group and Jiawei Yupingfeng San group were sig-nificantly increased(P<0.05,P<0.01),TCM syndrome score were decreased(P<0.01),tumor growth(P<0.05,P<0.01)was de-layed,and serum TSLP levels(P<0.05,P<0.01)were decreased.Furthermore, there was a slight positive correlation between chan-ges in tumor size and changes in TSLP(P<0.05).In terms of improving tumor size, the curative effect of Jiawei Yupingfeng San group was better than that of Yupingfeng San group(P<0.05).During the treatment period,no obvious adverse reactions were observed in the 3 groups of patients.CONCLUSION Combined with conventional treatment,Jiawei Yupingfeng San can significantly delay tumor growth in patients with advanced liver cancer of qi deficiency and toxic stasis type and improve patients'TCM syndromes and their qual-ity of survival. The therapeutic mechanism is related to reducing the expression of serum TSLP and improving the immune status of pa-tients,thereby delaying the growth of tumors.

Periodontitis is a common chronic inflammatory disease that causes the periodontal bone destruction and may ultimately result in tooth loss. With the progression of periodontitis, the osteoimmunology microenvironment in periodontitis is damaged and leads to the formation of pathological alveolar bone resorption.CD301b+macrophages are specific to the osteoimmunology microenvironment, and are emerging as vital booster for conducting bone regeneration. However, the key upstream targets of CD301b+macrophages and their potential mechanism in periodontitis remain elusive. In this study,we concentrated on the role of Tim4,a latent upstream regulator of CD301b+macrophages.We first demonstrated that the transcription level of Timd4(gene name of Tim4)in CD301b+macrophages was significantly upregulated compared to CD301b-macrophages via high-throughput RNA sequencing. Moreover, several Tim4-related functions such as apoptotic cell clearance, phagocytosis and engulfment were positively regulated by CD301b+macrophages.The single-cell RNA sequencing analysis subsequently discovered that Cd301b and Timd4 were specifically co-expressed in macrophages. The following flow cytometric analysis indicated that Tim4 positive expression rates in total macrophages shared highly synchronized dynamic changes with the proportions of CD301b+macrophages as periodontitis progressed.Furthermore, the deficiency of Tim4 in mice decreased CD301b+macrophages and eventually magnified alveolar bone resorption in periodontitis.Additionally,Tim4 controlled the p38 MAPK signaling pathway to ultimately mediate CD301b+macrophages phenotype. In a word,Tim4 might regulate CD301b+macrophages through p38 MAPK signaling pathway in periodontitis, which provided new insights into periodontitis immunoregulation as well as help to develop innovative therapeutic targets and treatment strategies for periodontitis.

Objective To investigate the levels of intrinsic positive end-expiratory pressure(PEEPi)in infants with severe bronchopulmonary dysplasia(sBPD)and the relationship between different levels of PEEPi and clinical outcomes. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical data of 12 sBPD infants who underwent PEEPi measurement and were hospitalized at Guangzhou Women and Children's Medical Center from January 2022 to June 2023.The clinical manifestations and outcomes at discharge were compared between infants with very high PEEPi(≥10 cmH2O)and those with lower PEEPi(<10 cmH2O).Results PEEPi measurements were taken in 12 sBPD infants between gestational age 31+3 and 67+2 weeks postmenstrual age, with the lowest PEEPi measured at 0.9 cmH2O and the highest at 19.6 cmH2O;50%(6/12)of the infants had PEEPi≥10 cmH2O.All infants with very high PEEPi exhibited ineffective triggering and patient-ventilator asynchrony.Among them,5 infants could not be weaned off invasive ventilation, resulting in 4 deaths and 1 infant being discharged with a tracheostomy and ventilator support. In contrast, among the infants with PEEPi<10 cmH2O,only 1 infant died, while the others were successfully extubated and discharged. Conclusions Infants with sBPD may have elevated PEEPi levels, and very high PEEPi may be associated with adverse outcomes in these patients.
