Obesity, as a chronic recurrent disease, has become a major public health challenge in China. To implement the requirements of the Healthy China Initiative (2019—2030), under domestic guidelines or consensus statements on overweight and obesity, and in alignment with the latest scientific advances globally, the Quality control protocol for adult overweight and obesity screening in health management (examination) institutions (2025 edition) was developed. This protocol was drafted by the Health Management Center of Shanghai Changzheng Hospital and formulated through multiple rounds of deliberation by experts in China’s health examination quality control field. The protocol establishes unified standards for screening facilities, personnel qualifications, and measurement or testing procedures. It defines specific screening items, outlines a standardized screening pathway, and sets requirements for the final medical review, ensuring the scientific validity, effectiveness, and safety of the screening process. The implementation of this protocol will enhance the consistency of weight management practices for adults across health examination institutions and strengthen the quality control of overweight and obesity screening programs.

Immunological Journal 2025;41(8):557-563
Objective To investigate the correlation between urinary β2-microglobulin(β2-MG)and the clinicopathological characteristics of IgA nephropathy(IgAN).Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on 77 patients diagnosed with IgAN by renal biopsy from October 2019 to October 2024.The research group was defined as those with a urinary β2-MG value higher than or equal to the median, and the control group was defined as those with a value lower than the median. The clinicopathological indicators of the two groups were compared. The Spearman method was used to analyze the correlation of the estimated glomerular filtration rate(eGFR)and pathological indicators of IgAN patients with urinary β2-MG.Multivariate logistic regression was used to analyze the clinicopathological factors related to urinary β2-MG.The receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve and the area under the curve(AUC)were used to evaluate the ability of urinary β2-MG to predict related pathological damage.Result Compared with the control group, the research group had older age, elevated levels of serum creatinine and blood urea, increased 24-hour urine protein quantification, elevated levels of urine α 1-microglobulin and urinary β2-MG,elevated urine microalbumin, elevated levels of total cholesterol and D-dimer,and decreased levels of eGFR,serum albumin, hemoglobin, and complement C3(P<0.05).Compared with the control group, the research group had more severe pathological damage in terms of renal tubular atrophy and renal interstitial fibrosis(T),as well as cellular and fibrocellular crescents(C)(P<0.05).There was a negative correlation between the urinary β2-MG level and eGFR in patients with IgAN(P<0.01),and a significant positive correlation with T and C(P<0.05).After controlling for confounding factors,eGFR(OR=0.983),serum albumin(OR=0.889),triglycerides(OR=0.099),total cholesterol(OR=2.677),and pathological damage T(OR=11.358)and C(OR=12.018)were independent influencing factors associated with high urinary β2-MG levels(P<0.05).The AUC of urinary β2-MG level for predicting the pathological indicator T in patients with IgAN was 0.784(95%CI:0.660,0.907),with the corresponding sensitivity of 0.717,and the specificity of 0.882.Conclusion The level of urinary β2-MG is closely related to multiple clinicopathological characteristics of patients with IgAN.It can be used as a potential biomarker for evaluating renal structural damage in patients, especially tubulointerstitial and renal vascular lesions, and has a certain predictive ability for tubulointerstitial injury.

Ma-huang Lian-yao Chi-xiao-dou Tang is one of the three formulas for typhoid jaundice. But it has not received much attention, and the source of Lian-yao in the formula is unknown and the status and role are difficult to identify. In this paper,we first analyzed the functions of Ephedra and the symptoms of the whole formula. The formula was mainly used to"clear damp-heat"in order to remove jaundice. On this basis,it is proved that Lian-yao is the root of Forsythia,not"Qiao-gen".Today,the use of Forsythia instead of Lian-yao has the same effect. Then, the indispensable and important position of Forsythia in the formula was analyzed. It also pointed out some valuable directions for the medicinal use and research and development of Forsythia based on its wide range of effects but the lack of main symptoms. This paper provides insights for in-depth theoretical and practical research on Forsythiae Fructus.

Yonsei Medical Journal 2023;64(10):593-603
Purpose:
Through meta-analysis, we aimed to assess the efficacy and safety of drug-coated balloons (DCB), compared with drugeluting stents (DES) or uncoated devices, in the treatment of de novo coronary lesions.
Materials and Methods:
Only randomized controlled trials were included. The primary outcomes were late lumen loss (LLL), target lesion revascularization (TLR), and major adverse cardiac events (MACEs). Subgroup analyses were conducted based on clinical indications, whether DCBs were used with a systematic or bailout stent, and types of DESs.
Results:
The present meta-analysis demonstrated that DCBs elicit significantly lower incidences of TLR, MACE, and LLL, compared with uncoated devices, and similar incidences, compared with DESs, in the treatment of de novo coronary lesions. Subgroup analysis indicated that DCBs used with a bailout stent achieved lower incidences of binary restenosis and myocardial infarction, compared with uncoated devices, and provided less LLL than DESs. DCBs showed similar rates of TLR and MACE, with significantly less LLL, than DESs in treating de novo small-vessel diseases. The clinical efficacy of DCBs was similar to that of secondgeneration DES.
Conclusion
Overall, DCB is favored over bare metal stent alone in treating de novo coronary lesions. DCBs appear to be a promising alternative to DESs in the treatment of de novo coronary lesions.

Mitochondria as a signaling platform play crucial roles in deciding cell fate. Many classic anticancer agents are known to trigger cell death through induction of mitochondrial damage. Mitophagy, one selective autophagy, is the key mitochondrial quality control that effectively removes damaged mitochondria. However, the precise roles of mitophagy in tumorigenesis and anticancer agent treatment remain largely unclear. Here, we examined the functional implication of mitophagy in the anticancer properties of magnolol, a natural product isolated from herbal

Chinese Journal of Medical Instrumentation 2015;39(1):16-20
This paper built the mathematical model of a centrifugal blood pump, which was designed by ourselves, combined it with that of the human cardiovascular system and simulated the coupling system using Matlab. Then we set up the experiment platform, linked the blood pump to mock human cardiovascular system in case of three-stage heart failure, and measured aortic pressure and flow under different speed. The comparison between experiment results and simulation results not only indicates the coupling model is correct and the blood pump works well, but also shows that with the increase of blood pump speed, the pulsation of aortic pressure and flow will be reduced, this situation will affect the structure and function of blood vessels.
