Objective:To investigate the effect of triply periodic minimal surfaces (TPMS) structure and ceramic volume fraction on the mechanical properties of polymer-infiltrated ceramic network (PICN) composite and reveal its strengthening and toughening mechanism. Methods:In this study, TPMS structures with gyroid (G), primitive (P), diamond (D), and ceramic volume fraction (40%, 55%, 70%, 85%) were designed. Porous zirconia scaffolds were prepared using stereolithography technology, and resin was infiltrated into the scaffolds through a vacuum. Then, the PICN composites were obtained after curing. The bending strength, elastic modulus and fracture toughness of PICN were tested using an electronic universal testing machine, with commercial PICN as the control group. The micromorphology of PICN was observed through stereomicroscope and scanning electron microscope. The cytocompatibility of PICN was verified by using cell counting kit, live/dead cell staining and phalloidin staining. Results:The bending strength values of PICN with different ceramic volume fractions ranged from 82.0 MPa to 376.0 MPa, and they gradually increased as the ceramic volume fraction rised. The elastic modulus values of PICN with different ceramic volume fractions ranged from 12.1 GPa to 56.1 GPa. The fracture toughness values of PICN with different ceramic volume fractions ranged from 1.7 MPa·m 1/2 to 6.5 MPa·m 1/2. The bending strength of 85G PICN reached 306.0 MPa, and it had the highest fracture toughness (6.5 MPa·m 1/2) and an appropriate elastic modulus between that of the control group and that of enamel. Under scanning electron microscopy, it could be observed that the cracks branch and deflect at the interface and eventually terminate within the resin phase. After co-culture with PICN, the survival rate of mouse fibroblasts exceeded 80%, indicating that PICN had no cytotoxicity. Conclusions:The PICN composite with TPMS structure can satisfy the mechanical properties and cytocompatibility of dental prosthesis.

Objective To explore the facilitators and barriers of palliative care volunteering, and to provide references for further advancement of palliative care volunteering. Methods Purposeful sampling was used to select 12 volunteers from a palliative care ward in Hangzhou,Zhejiang Province, between April and September 2024.Semi-structured interviews were conducted, and directed content analysis was applied to organize and analyze the data, followed by theme analysis. Results Facilitators and barriers for volunteers' participation in palliative care volunteering were extracted. The 5 sub-themes of facilitators include motivating factors and perceived benefits, support and collaboration among volunteers, professional training and healthcare recognition, increased social awareness and public acceptance, and government support and institutional safeguards. The 5 sub-themes of barriers include limitations in individual capacity, challenges in collaboration with patients, families and healthcare workers, inadequate management and service mechanisms, uneven development of palliative care and insufficient public attention to psychological problems, and inadequate relevant laws and incentives. Conclusion There are more factors affecting the development of palliative care volunteering, and healthcare professionals should adopt targeted strategies to promote the active participation of volunteers in order to promote the sustainable development of palliative care volunteering.

We report a 19-year-old male patient who developed numbness and weakness in the extremities, bilateral facial paralysis, difficulty swallowing, and slurred speech after the onset of dengue fever.Physical examination revealed decreased superficial and deep sensation below the knees, with absent tendon reflexes in the limbs.Cerebrospinal fluid analysis was normal, and ganglioside-related antibodies were negative.Electromyography showed multiple symmetric peripheral nerve demyelination in the limbs and facial nerves. The patient was diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome. After receiving treatment with immunoglobulin and corticosteroids, his symptoms improved, and he made a good recovery during follow-up.Dengue fever has been rarely reported as a preceding infection of Guillain-Barré syndrome in China. This case report, along with a review of relevant literature, aims to enhance the understanding of the diagnosis and management of this condition. It emphasizes the importance of early diagnosis and treatment by clinicians to avoid misdiagnosis and missed diagnosis of dengue-related Guillain-Barré syndrome.

Pain is one of the most common and unendurable symptoms in cancer patients and a major factor affecting their quality of life.Patient-controlled analgesia(PCA) is an important palliative measure in additional to conventional pharmacological control of pain.Nurses play the primary role in the management of PCA for cancer pain, and their knowledge, attitude and practice about PCA for cancer pain directly affect the effectiveness of cancer pain management. This article summarizes and analyzes the current status of nurses' knowledge, attitude and practice and associated influencing factors, aiming to improve nursing management of PCA, reinforce specialized nursing training, propose recommendations for an expert consensus on PCA for cancer pain and provide a reference for nursing practice in PCA for cancer pain.

Objective:This study aimed to investigate the change of the position of the tongue before and after combined treatment of maxillary expansion and orofacial myofunctional therapy in children with mouth-breathing and skeletal class Ⅱmalocclusion. Methods:A total of 30 children with skeletal class Ⅱ malocclusion and unobstructed upper airway were selected. The 30 children were divided into mouth-breathing group(n=15) and nasal-breathing group(n=15) and CBCT was taken. The images were measured by Invivo5 software. The measurement results of the tongue position of the two groups were analyzed by independent samples t-test. 15 mouth-breathing children with skeletal class Ⅱ malocclusion were selected for maxillary expansion and orofacial myofunctional therapy. CBCT was taken before and after treatment, the measurements were analyzed by paired sample t test with SPSS 27.0 software package. Results:The measurement of the tongue position of the mouth-breathing and nasal-breathing groups were compared, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). The measurement of the tongue position showed significant difference after the combined treatment of maxillary expansion and orofacial myofunctional therapy in children with mouth-breathing and skeletal class Ⅱmalocclusion(P<0.05). Conclusion:Skeletal class Ⅱ malocclusion children with mouth-breathing have low tongue posture. The combined treatment of maxillary expansion and orofacial myofunctional therapy can change the position of the tongue.
