Objective To measure serum GP73 and explore the diagnostic value of GP73 in the patient of primary hepatic carcinoma,to discuss the joint roles of serum GP73 and AFP in the diagnosis of PHC.Methods ELISA was used to detect the serum level of GP73 and chemilunminescence immunoassay system was used to detect the serum level of AFP.A total of 284 serum samples were included, with 60 from health donors(normal),128 from either chronic hepatitis or cirrhosis(CH/LC),and 96 from PHC patients. Results After statistical analysis, the difference of GP73 expression levels was statistically significant between normal control group,CH/LC group and PHC group (P < 0.05).The sensitivity of GP73 and AFP were 91.67% and 73.96%,and the specificity of GP73 and AFP were 95.21% and 87.23%,respectivity.Joint detection could increase the sensitivity up to 96.52%,and achieve the high specificity of 87.46%.Conclusions GP73 has very good sensitivity and specificity in diagnosis of primary hepatic carcinoma. The joint detection of GP73 and AFP could improve PHC diagnostic performance, and provide an effective approach to the PHC high-risk screening.
