1.Expert consensus on endocrine hypertension screening (2025 version).

Endocrine hypertension is a common form of secondary hypertension. Affected patients often present without specific symptoms or signs, making the condition easy to overlook or misdiagnose. Early screening can greatly enhance the level of diagnosis while prompt treatment can improve the prognosis of patients. Based on clinical evidence and practice, the Chinese Endocrinologist Association and the Chinese Endocrine Hypertension Collaboration Group reached this consensus after extensive discussions on target populations, screening methods, interpretation of screening results, and other issues related to endocrine hypertension.

2.National guidelines for the prevention and control of diabetes in primary care (2025).

In China, the prevalence of diabetes has increased significantly, and rigorous challenges exist in diabetes prevention and glycemic control, especially in primary medical care. Under the guidance of the National Health Commission of the People's Republic of China and the Chinese Medical Association, the Office for Primary Diabetes Care of the National Basic Public Health Service Program issued the "National guidelines for the prevention and control of diabetes in primary care (2018)" in 2018. The present guideline, which incorporates the latest advances in diabetes research and practice from the 2018 and 2022 editions, aims to improve primary health facilities and provide standardized basic public health and medical services throughout China. It applies to healthcare providers who provide primary care to patients with type 2 diabetes aged 18 or older. It primarily includes basic management requirements; workflow of health management; diagnosis; classification; monitoring, screening, and assessment; treatment; identification and management of diabetic acute and chronic complications; traditional Chinese medicine; referral; health management; and health education.

3.Rhizosphere bacterial metabolism of plants growing in landfill cover soil regulates biodegradation of chlorobenzene.

The regulation of rhizosphere bacterial community structure and metabolism by plants in municipal solid waste landfills is a key to enhancing the biodegradation of chlorobenzene (CB). In this study, we employed biodiversity and metabolomics methods to systematically analyze the mechanisms of different plant species in regulating the rhizosphere bacterial community structure and metabolic features and then improved the methane (CH4) oxidation and CB degradation capacity. The results showed that the rhizosphere soil of Rumex acetosa exhibited the highest CH4 oxidation and CB degradation capacity of 0.08 g/(kg·h) and 1.72×10-6 g/(L·h), respectively, followed by the rhizosphere soil of Amaranthus spinosus L., with the rhizosphere soil of Broussonetia papyrifera showing the weakest activity. Rumex acetosa promoted the colonization of Methylocaldum in the rhizosphere, and the small-molecule organic amine, such as triethylamine and N-methyl-aniline, secreted from the roots of this plant enhanced the tricarboxylic acid cycle and nicotinamide metabolism, thereby increasing microbial activity and improving CH4 and CB degradation efficiency. Conversely, cinnamic acid and its derivatives secreted by Broussonetia papyrifera acted as autotoxins, inhibiting microbial activity and exacerbating the negative effects of salt stress on key microbes such as methanotrophs. This study probed into the mechanisms of typical plants growing in landfill cover soil in regulating bacterial ecological functions, offering theoretical support and practical guidance for the plant-microbe joint control of landfill gas pollution.

4.Screening and identification of a biocontrol strain CXG2-5 against kiwifruit bacterial canker and preparation of microcapsules.

To develop biocontrol agents for the control of kiwifruit bacterial canker, we isolated a strain CXG2-5 with inhibitory activity against Pseudomonas syringae pv. actinidiae (Psa), the pathogen of kiwifruit bacterial canker, from the rhizosphere soil of kiwifruit by the plate confrontation test. The strain was identified by morphological observation, physiological and biochemical tests, and molecular biological methods. The indoor control efficacy of the strain was determined by the inoculation of the strain into detached branches with wounds and into leaf discs by vacuum infiltration. The ability of the strain to expand and colonize leaf veins was determined by fluorescent labeling and scanning electron microscopy. Subsequently, the strain was prepared into microcapsules, the field control efficacy of which was evaluated. The strain CXG2-5 was identified as Pseudomonas benzenivorans. It demonstrated good antagonistic activity against Psa, with an inhibition zone diameter of 22 mm and an inhibition rate of 72.7%. The preventive effects of the strain on kiwifruit bacterial canker were better than the therapeutic effects on both detached branches and leaves, with the preventive effects reaching 65% and 92.4%, respectively. The control effect of microcapsules of this strain in the field reached 60.89%, which was slightly lower than that of 20% kasugamycin and higher than that of Bacillus subtilis wettable powder. In conclusion, strain CXG2-5 serves as a candidate for the control of kiwifruit bacterial canker, and the prepared microcapsules have good value for development and application.

5.Screening of soil biocontrol bacteria and evaluation of their control effects on Fusarium head blight of wheat.

Fusarium head blight (FHB), caused by Fusarium graminearum, not only leads to severe yield losses but also poses a threat to food safety due to the mycotoxins produced by the pathogen. Since this disease is preventable but not curable, the current control mainly relies on chemical fungicides, the long-term use of which may lead to pathogen resistance and environmental pollution. To develop green control methods, we screened 13 biocontrol strains from the rhizosphere soil of wheat, among which strain No. 12 (identified as Pythium aphanidermatum) showed significant antifungal effects. In the plate confrontation test, this strain reduced the colony diameter of the pathogen by 69.2% (1.47 mm vs. 4.78 mm in the control group), with an inhibition rate of 77% (P < 0.01). Microscopic observation revealed obvious deformations in the pathogen hyphae, suggesting a lysing effect. The coleoptile experiment further confirmed that the pre-treatment with this strain reduced the incidence rate to 0. These findings provide new candidate strains for the biocontrol of FHB and offer a scientific basis for reducing the use of chemical fungicides and promoting sustainable agricultural development.

6.Chinese Expert Consensus on the Clinical Application of Ultrasound Screening for Gastric Cancer(2025 Edition).

The five-year survival rate of gastric cancer in China is close to that in European and American countries but far lower than that in the Republic of Korea and Japan,which have established national gastric cancer screening systems.It is of great significance to build a high-quality gastric cancer screening system adaptive to China's national conditions.Due to the large number of people at risk of gastric cancer and uneven distribution of medical resources,it is still difficult for China to carry out a nationwide gastroscopy screening plan for gastric cancer.Gastric ultrasound,with painlessness,no radiation,and easy acceptance and popularization,could be used as one of the alternative methods for initial screening of gastric cancer.Based on two gastric ultrasound-related consensuses published in 2020,this consensus elaborates on the necessity,feasibility,and existing problems of conducting preliminary gastric cancer ultrasound screening in China by analyzing the gastric cancer screening strategies and the difficulties faced by nationwide gastric cancer screening.Furthermore,this consensus introduces the indications and contraindications of gastric ultrasound examination,requirements for the operator and the contrast agent,ultrasound standard section,essentials of scanning operations,and stomach ultrasound report and data system (Su-RADS) and proposes the relevant consensus opinions accordingly.After multiple rounds of discussions and voting by experts from multiple societies,a total of 17 consensus opinions have been formed on gastric ultrasound as a preliminary screening technique for gastric cancer,with the aim of standardizing the popularization of gastric ultrasound.In addition,the consensus calls for conducting nationwide multicenter prospective studies to improve the level of evidence and provide data support for the construction of a preliminary gastric cancer ultrasound screening system that is in line with China's national conditions.

7.Clinical application of next-generation sequencing in early screening of neonatal diseases.

OBJECTIVES:
To evaluate the clinical value of next-generation sequencing (NGS) in neonatal disease screening, particularly its advantages when combined with tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS).
METHODS:
A prospective study was conducted involving blood samples from 1 999 neonates born at the Shenzhen Guangming District People's Hospital, between May and August 2021. All samples were initially screened using MS/MS and fluorescence immunoassay, followed by NGS to detect high-frequency variation sites in 135 related pathogenic genes. Suspected positive variants were validated using Sanger sequencing or multiplex ligation-dependent probe amplification in family studies.
RESULTS:
No confirmed positive cases were found in the MS/MS analysis of the 1 999 neonates. Genetic screening identified 58 positive cases (2.90%), 732 carriers of pathogenic genes (36.62%), and 1 209 negative cases (60.48%). One case of neonatal intrahepatic cholestasis was diagnosed (0.05%, 1/1 999). Fluorescence immunoassay identified 39 cases of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) deficiency (1.95%, 39/1 999), while genetic screening identified 43 cases of G6PD deficiency (2.15%, 43/1 999). The fluorescence immunoassay also detected 6 cases of hyperthyrotropinemia (0.30%, 6/1 999), all of whom carried DUOX2 gene variants. The top ten pathogenic gene carrier rates were G6PD (12.8%), DUOX2 (8.7%), HBB (8.2%), ATP7B (6.6%), GJB2 (5.7%), SLC26A4 (5.6%), PAH (5.6%), ACADSB (4.6%), SLC25A13 (4.2%), and SLC22A5 (4.1%).
CONCLUSIONS
NGS can serve as an effective complement to MS/MS, significantly improving the detection rate of inherited metabolic disorders in neonates. When combined with family validation, it enables precise diagnosis, particularly demonstrating complementary advantages in screening for monogenic diseases such as G6PD deficiency.

8.Research progress and optimization strategies for early screening of type 1 diabetes.

The prevalence of type 1 diabetes (T1DM) is increasing annually, and its complications seriously impair the quality of life of affected children. Early screening for T1DM helps reduce the occurrence of diabetic ketoacidosis, protect β-cell function, and delay disease onset in high-risk populations. This article summarizes current domestic and international screening technologies for T1DM. Screening methods remain centered on detection of diabetes-related antibodies and glycometabolic markers, while factors related to disease pathogenesis hold promise as sensitive screening markers. Expanding T1DM screening in China is expected to improve early diagnosis and treatment.

9.Global disease burden of cervical cancer and the association of screening coverage with quality of disease management.

OBJECTIVES:
To analyze the global disease burden of cervical cancer and the association between screening coverage and the quality of disease management.
METHODS:
The data of global burden of cervical cancer 2021 and the data of cervical cancer screening 2019 were obtained from IHME Global Burden of Disease (GBD) and the WHO global health observatory, respectively. The age-standardized disease burden index was calculated, the quality of care index (QCI) was determined with principal component analysis, and the correlation between QCI and cervical cancer screening coverage was examined with linear regression analysis by regions and populations.
RESULTS:
The burden of cervical cancer and the quality of management exhibited significant variability across countries with differing levels of social development. The indicators of cervical cancer burden in China were close to the average level of countries with higher socio-demographic index (SDI). The global QCI was 22.22 (10.50, 35.43), and that of China was 26.30. The global screening coverage rate for cervical cancer was 42% (12%, 86%) and that in China was 31%. After adjusting for the social development level of countries, the coverage level of cervical cancer screening was associated with QCI (β=0.27, P<0.01), with no difference between low and high SDI countries (P>0.05). The association was significantly stronger among 25-30 years old women (β=1.48, P<0.05).
CONCLUSIONS
There are discrepancies in both the disease burden of cervical cancer and the quality of disease management among countries with different socioeconomic levels, and there is still considerable room for improvement in China. Expanding coverage of cervical cancer screening may be an effective strategy to enhance the management quality of cervical cancer, particularly among younger women where the screening benefits are most pronounced.

10.Validation of the Japanese version of MemScreen: a rapid screening tool for mild cognitive impairment.

This study was to examine the validity of the Japanese version of MemScreen (MemScreen-J), a touchscreen MCI screening test. 20 patients with MCI aged 65-90 years at the Juntendo Tokyo Koto Geriatric Medical Center were recruited as cases in December 2023. Non-cases were recruited from local residents in Toon City, Ehime Prefecture in February 2024 and 40 residents, without a medical history of MCI, aged 58-84 years were included in the present study. MemScreen-J test, a self-administered screening test in the form of a digital application, downloadable on a tablet, was administered to participants to assess their cognitive function. Defining the group at high risk of MCI based on a MemScreen-J test score of 28 or lower achieved the best Youden index in the study sample, with a sensitivity of 0.75 and a specificity of 0.98. MemScreen-J appeared to be a valid screening tool among persons at the prodromal stage of dementia, given reasonably high accuracy in detection of MCI. This innovative neuropsychological test could be the first step in a diagnostic approach to cognitive complaints in a community, identifying persons at the preclinical stage of dementia.
