OBJECTIVE
To explore the moisture and components change law of Peucedani Radix slices during microwave vacuum drying, and effectively improve the drying efficiency and slice quality of Peucedani Radix slices, by carring out drying characteristics analysis and simulation of Peucedani Radix Slices during microwave vacuum drying.
METHODS
Microwave vacuum drying experiments of Peucedani Radix slices under different drying conditions (microwave power density, vacuum degree and slice thickness) were carried out. The changes of moisture ratio and drying rate during drying process were studied. The contents of three coumarin ingredients (praeruptorin A, praeruptorin B and praeruptorin E) in dried Peucedani Radix slices were determined by HPLC. Weibull function was used to simulate and analyze the moisture ratio curve during drying process.
RESULTS
Microwave vacuum drying process of Peucedani Radix slices has three stages: acceleration, constant speed and deceleration. Compared with vacuum degree and slice thickness, increasing microwave power density could shorten drying time and improve drying efficiency more effectively. In the range of experimental parameters, the optimum drying conditions were as follows: microwave power density was 3.0 W·g–1, vacuum degree was 800 Pa, and slice thickness was 2 mm. The changes of all drying conditions had no significant effect on the content of coumarins in dried Peucedani Radix slices. The results of Weibull function simulation and analysis showed that the scale parameters under different drying conditions ranged from 17.43 to 45.38, and the smaller the value, the shorter the drying time. The shape parameters ranged from 1.41 to 1.77 and were all greater than 1, indicating that the drying process was controlled by internal and external water diffusion.
CONCLUSION
The research work not only provides important theoretical basis and technical support for the process improvement and quality control of microwave vacuum drying process of Peucedani Radix slices, but also provides important reference for the standardization of Peucedani Radix slices drying and the formation of quality characteristics.

All of them were planned to be performed total knee arthroplasty (TKA) for the treatment of knee osteoarthritis. Fifteen males with an average age of 71±5 years old and twenty six females with an average age of 71±9 years old were included in this study. There were 19 cases of left knee and 22 cases of right knee. Thin layer MRI examination on the patients' knee joints was performed before the surgery, and artificial intelligence model based on the thin layer MRI data of the knee joint was reconstructed. The cartilage part of the model was selected and corrected by Principal Component Analysis (PCA) in order to realize model straightening. The tibial plateau cartilage of knee joint which intercepted during operation was classified according to the International Cartilage Repair Society (ICRS). Finally the results were compared with the ICRS classification results of knee artificial intelligence reconstruction model and artificial recognition of knee joint MRI images. Results:Compared with the grade of cartilage injury intercepted during our operation which was according to the ICRS classification, the sensitivity of artificial intelligence reconstruction model for the diagnosis of cartilage injury with ICRS classification grade four was 93.1%. The specificity of artificial intelligence reconstruction model was 91.4%. The positive predictive value (PPV) of artificial intelligence reconstruction model was 92.2%. And the negative predictive value (NPV) of artificial intelligence reconstruction model was 80.3%. The area under ROC curve (AUC) was 0.92. The ICRS classification consistency between artificial intelligence model and physical inspection results was good with kappa value 0.81 ( P<0.001) . In the aspect of artificial recognition of cartilage injury grading in MRI images, the sensitivity of artificial recognition was 92.10% compared with the manual identification of cartilage injury classification in MRI images. The specificity of artificial recognition was 91.60%. The positive predictive value (PPV) of artificial recognition was 97.20% and the negative predictive value (NPV) of artificial recognition was 78.8%. The kappa value of the cartilage injury classification in MRI images consistency between artificial recognition and manual identification was 0.79 ( P<0.001). Conclusion:Based on the evaluation of cartilage injury by AI reconstruction model of knee joint, the sensitivity and specificity of the diagnosis of ICRS grade IV cartilage injury can be acceptable, but still needs to be improved.

Objective: To explore the development of the pancreatic surgeon technique in a high-volume center. Methods: A total of 284 cases receiving pancreatic surgery by a single surgeon from June 2015 to December 2020 were retrospectively included in this study. The clinical characteristics and perioperative medical history were extracted from the medical record system of Zhongshan Hospital,Fudan University. Among these patients, there were 140 males and 144 females with an age (M (IQR)) of 61.0 (16.8) years(range: 15 to 85 years). The "back-to-back" pancreatic- jejunal anastomosis procedure was used to anastomose the end of the pancreas stump and the jejunal wall. Thirty days after discharge, the patients were followed by outpatient follow-up or telephone interviews. The difference between categorical variables was analyzed by the Chi-square test or the CMH chi-square test. The statistical differences for the quantitative data were analyzed using one-way analysis of variance or Kruskal-Wallis H test and further analyzed using the LSD test or the Nemenyi test, respectively. Results: Intraoperative blood loss in pancreaticoduodenectomy between 2015 and 2020 were 300,100(100),100(100),100(0),100(200) and 150 (200) ml,respectively. Intraoperative blood loss in distal pancreatectomy was 250 (375),100 (50),50 (65), 50 (80),50 (50),and 50 (100) ml,respectively. Intraoperative blood loss did not show statistical differences in the same operative procedure between each year. The operative time for pancreaticoduodenectomy was respectively 4.5,5.0(2.0),5.5(0.8),5.0(1.3),5.0(3.3) and 5.0(1.0) hours in each year from 2015 to 2020,no statistical differences were found between each group. The operating time of the distal pancreatectomy was 3.8 (0.9),3.0 (1.5),3.0 (1.8),2.0 (1.1),2.0 (1.5) and 3.0(2.0) hours in each year, the operating time was obviously shorter in 2018 compared to 2015 (P=0.026) and 2020 (P=0.041). The median hospital stay in 2020 for distal pancreatectomy was 3 days shorter than that in 2019. The overall incidence of postoperative pancreatic fistula gradually decreased, with a incident rate of 50.0%,36.8%,31.0%,25.9%,21.1% and 14.8% in each year. During this period,in a total of 3,6,4,2,0 and 20 cases received laparoscopic operations in each year. The incidence of clinically relevant pancreatic fistula (grade B and C) gradually decreased, the incident rates were 0,4.8%,7.1%,3.4%,4.3% and 1.4%,respectively. Two cases had postoperative abdominal bleeding and received unscheduled reoperation. The overall rate of unscheduled reoperation was 0.7%. A patient died within 30 days after the operation and the overall perioperative mortality was 0.4%. OBJECTIVE:
To investigate whether the anteversion angle of acetabular prosthesis can be evaluated on the anteroposterior X-ray film of common double hip joint.
METHODS:
Total 32 patients(41 hips) after total hip arthroplasty were selected, including 18 males and 14 females, aged(66.2±4.1) years. All patients completed the positive X-ray film of both hips and plain CT scan of pelvis after operation. Acetabular anteversion was measured by plain CT scan of pelvis, and measured by Saka and other measurement formulas on X-ray film.
RESULTS:
The acetabular anteversion measured by X-ray film was(16.2±5.0)° and that measured by CT was (31.8±9.7)°(P=0.00). In addition, there was a significant linear correlation between X-ray film and CT(Pearson correlation coefficient (r=0.84, P=0.00).
CONCLUSION
CT can accurately measure the acetabular anteversion, but it has obvious disadvantages, such as large radiation, high cost, phantom CT artifact and so on. Although Saka measurement formula can not directly obtain the accurate acetabular anteversion as CT measurement, it has a high correlation with the acetabular anteversion measured by CT. Therefore, the method proposed in this study can also preliminarily evaluate the acetabular anteversion.

Chinese Journal of Biotechnology 2021;37(6):1986-1997
Since synthetic pigments are potentially harmful to human health, natural ones such as bixin, one of the carotenoids, are favored. As the second widely used natural pigment in the world, there is significant interest in the biosynthetic pathway of bixin which has not been fully elucidated. This review summarizes the chemical properties, extraction methods, biosynthetic pathway and application of bixin. In addition, we compared the difference between traditional extraction methods and new extraction techniques. Moreover, we described the genes involved in the biosynthetic pathway of bixin and the effects of abiotic stress on the biosynthesis of bixin, and discussed the application of bixin in food, pharmaceutical and chemical industries. However, the researches on bixin biosynthesis pathway are mostly carried out at the transcriptome level and most of the gene functions have not been elucidated. Therefore, we propose to characterize the entire bixin biosynthetic pathway using techniques of genomics, bioinformatics, and phytochemistry. This will help facilitate the synthetic biology research of bixin and development of bixin into new drugs.

Journal of Zhejiang University. Science. B 2021;22(12):971-984
Basophils, which are considered as redundant relatives of mast cells and the rarest granulocytes in peripheral circulation, have been neglected by researchers in the past decades. Previous studies have revealed their vital roles in allergic diseases and parasitic infections. Intriguingly, recent studies even reported that basophils might be associated with cancer development, as activated basophils synthesize and release a variety of cytokines and chemokines in response to cancers. However, it is still subject to debate whether basophils function as tumor-protecting or tumor-promoting components; the answer may depend on the tumor biology and the microenvironment. Herein, we reviewed the role of basophils in cancers, and highlighted some potential and promising therapeutic strategies.
