With the growing awareness of public health, the value and importance of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) resources have become increasingly prominent. Despite the undeniable significance of TCM in medical treatment and healthcare, the protection, development, and utilization of TCM resources still face numerous challenges. Under the traditional model, the development and utilization of TCM resources heavily rely on manual labor and empirical decision-making, which not only leads to inefficiencies and high costs but also causes serious issues such as unstable drug quality and imbalances in market supply and demand. In the current era of rapid advancements in artificial intelligence(AI) and technology, AI has emerged as a new engine to address many challenges and difficulties throughout the entire TCM resource industry chain. By leveraging AI technology, intelligent management, precise production, and optimized utilization of TCM resources can be achieved, thereby improving efficiency, reducing costs, ensuring stable quality, and balancing market supply and demand. This article primarily explores the application of AI technology in the entire TCM resource industry chain from different perspectives and provides an in-depth analysis of the future development of AI in the TCM industry. It holds significant importance and value in promoting the intelligent development of the TCM sector and facilitating the healthy development of the entire TCM resource industry chain.

Chinese Journal of Contemporary Pediatrics 2025;27(1):88-93
OBJECTIVES:
To investigate the clinical characteristics and prognosis of acute erythroleukemia (AEL) in children.
METHODS:
A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical data, treatment, and prognosis of 8 children with AEL treated at the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University from January 2013 to December 2023.
RESULTS:
Among the 7 patients with complete bone marrow morphological analysis, 4 exhibited trilineage dysplasia, with a 100% incidence of erythroid dysplasia (7/7), a 71% incidence of myeloid dysplasia (5/7), and a 57% incidence of megakaryocytic dysplasia (4/7). Immunophenotyping revealed that myeloid antigens were primarily expressed as CD13, CD33, CD117, CD38, and CD123, with 4 cases expressing erythroid antigens CD71 and 2 cases expressing CD235a. Chromosomal analysis indicated that 2 cases presented with abnormal karyotypes, including +8 in one case and +4 accompanied by +6 in another; no complex karyotypes were observed. Genetic abnormalities were detected in 4 cases, with fusion genes including one case each of dup MLL positive and EVI1 positive, as well as mutations involving KRAS, NRAS, WT1, and UBTF. Seven patients received chemotherapy, with 6 achieving remission after one course of treatment; 2 underwent hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, and all had disease-free survival. Follow-up (median follow-up time of 6 months) showed that only 3 patients survived (2 cases after hematopoietic stem cell transplantation and 1 case during treatment).
CONCLUSIONS
Children with AEL have unique clinical and biological characteristics, exhibit poor treatment response, and have a poor prognosis; however, hematopoietic stem cell transplantation may improve overall survival rates.

Journal of Geriatric Cardiology 2025;22(3):332-343
BACKGROUND:
Quantitative flow ratio (QFR) holds significant value in guiding drug-coated balloon (DCB) treatment and enhancing outcomes. However, the predictive capability of post-angioplasty QFR for long-term clinical events in patients with de novo lesions who receive DCB treatment remains uncertain. The aim of this study was to explore the potential significance of post-angioplasty QFR measurements in predicting clinical outcomes in patients underwent DCB treatment for de novo lesions.
METHODS:
Patients who underwent DCB-only intervention for de novo lesions were enrolled. QFR was conducted after DCB treatment. The patients were then categorized based on post-angioplasty QFR. The primary endpoint was major adverse cardiac events (MACE), encompassing all-cause death, cardiovascular death, nonfatal myocardial infarction, stroke, and target vessel revascularization.
RESULTS:
A total of 553 patients with 561 lesions were included. The median follow-up period was 505 days, during which 66 (11.8%) MACEs occurred. Based on post-procedural QFR grouping, there were 259 cases in the high QFR group (QFR > 0.93) and 302 cases in the low QFR group (QFR ≤ 0.93). Kaplan-Meier analysis revealed a significantly higher cumulative incidence of MACE in the low QFR group (log-rank P = 0.004). The multivariate Cox proportional hazards model demonstrated a significant inverse correlation between QFR and the occurrence of MACEs (HR = 0.522, 95%CI: 0.289-0.942, P = 0.031). Landmark analysis indicated that high QFR had a significant reducing effect on the cumulative incidence of MACEs within 1 year (log-rank P = 0.016) and 1-5 years (log-rank P = 0.026).
CONCLUSIONS
In patients who underwent DCB-only treatment for de novo lesions, higher post-procedural QFR values (> 0.93) were identified as an independent protective factor against adverse prognosis.

A new method for simultaneous determination of 23 kinds of per-and polyfluoroalkyl substances(PFASs)(13 kinds of perfluoro carboxylic acids,4 kinds of perfluoro sulfonic acids, and 6 kinds of new substitutes)in plant leaf tissue by ultra-high performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry(UHPLC-MS/MS)using automatic online solid phase extraction(SPE)to remove the matrix interference components in plant crude extracts was developed. The plant leaf samples were extracted twice with 1%formic acid-methanol solution, then evaporated to dry, redissolved with 70%methanol solution, and directly injected for analysis. After 23 kinds of target PFASs were purified automatically by online SPE with a WAX column, the six-way valve was switched to rinse PFASs onto an alkaline mobile phase system-compatible C18 analytical column. Then, the 23 kinds of target PFASs were separated within 16 min by gradient elution using a binary mobile phase system of methanol/water(Containing 0.4%ammonium hydroxide).Tandem mass spectrometry was performed in multiple reaction monitoring(MRM)mode for online detection of various PFASs,and quantification was carried out by internal standard method. The results of the method validation showed that satisfactory average recoveries of 23 kinds of PFASs in plant leaf samples(64.2%-125.5%),precision(relative standard deviations(RSDs)of 0.7%-12.8%),linearity(R2>0.990),and sensitivity(the detection limits(S/N=3)were in the range of 0.02-0.50 μg/kg)were achieved. Finally, this method was used to detect PFASs in the marine green tide algae(Enteromorpha prolifera)and several tree leaves, and a total of 6 kinds of PFASs were detected,in which PFBA was the main contaminant.Compared with the reported offline SPE methods, the proposed online SPE technique significantly simplified the sample pretreatment process and provided an automatic, simple, and environment-friendly method for the routine monitoring of legacy and emerging PFASs in plant tissues.

OBJECTIVE:
To investigate the efficacy of posterior three-columns osteotomy in the treatment of severe tuberculous angular kyphosis.
METHODS:
Total of 33 patients with severe tuberculous angular kyphosis were treated with posterior three-columns osteotomy from January 2006 to January 2019 including 24 males and 9 females with an average age of (40.6±23.3) years old ranging from 15 to 62 years old and an average disease duration of (23.5±15.5) years ranging from 4 to 40 years. The Cobb's angle of kyphosis was (118.65±28.82)°. Interradicular bone-disc-bone osteotomy(BDBO), posterior-only vertebral column resection (PVCR) and posterior multilevel vertebral osteotomy (PMVO) were performed to correct spinal deformity individually. The visual analogue scale (VAS), Oswestry disability index (ODI), sagittal vertical axis (SVA), ASIA spinal cord functional classification and motor function score, and deformity correction rate were measured and statistically analyzed before, after and at the final follow-up.
RESULTS:
Total of 33 patients were followed up from 15 to 96 months with an average of (38.00±6.38) months. The last follow-up of kyphosis Cobb angle (23.88±5.45)° showed no significant loss from postoperative 12 months (20.40±9.13)°, P>0.05. The SVA, VAS, ODI and ASIA spinal cord functional classification and motor function score were significantly improved at 1 year and last follow-up after operation(P<0.01). The fusion time of the osteotomy site was (18.50±5.16) months. The ASIA classification of 15 patients with spinal cord injury were improved by at least 2 grades after operation, and their daily life and work ability were various levels of restored. Postoperative complications of spinal cord injury occurred in 3 cases.
CONCLUSION
Posterior three-columns osteotomy is the most effective method for the treatment of angular kyphosis of spinal tuberculosis.Careful preoperative design and individualized osteotomy can not only correct the deformity, but also a successful decompression to the spinal cord and promote the recovery of spinal cord function.
