The evaluation of blood compatibility of biomaterials is crucial for ensuring the clinical safety of implantable medical devices. To address the limitations of traditional testing methods in real-time monitoring and electrical property analysis, this study developed a portable electrical impedance tomography (EIT) system. The system uses a 16-electrode design, operates within a frequency range of 1 to 500 kHz, achieves a signal to noise ratio (SNR) of 69.54 dB at 50 kHz, and has a data collection speed of 20 frames per second. Experimental results show that the EIT system developed in this study is highly consistent with a microplate reader ( R 2=0.97) in detecting the hemolytic behavior of industrial-grade titanium (TA3) and titanium alloy-titanium 6 aluminum 4 vanadium (TC4) in anticoagulated bovine blood. Additionally, with the support of a multimodal image fusion Gauss-Newton one-step iterative algorithm, the system can accurately locate and monitor in real-time the dynamic changes in blood permeation and coagulation caused by TC4 in vivo. In conclusion, the EIT system developed in this study provides a new and effective method for evaluating the blood compatibility of biomaterials.

This paper explores the therapeutic approach for glaucoma based on the concept of "jueyin (厥阴) as the closing phase" from the perspectives of time and space. In traditional Chinese medicine, jueyin governs inward, converging aspect of qi, representing the crucial turning point between the end of yin and the emergence of yang, as well as the transformation between yin and yang. When the closing and descending function of jueyin operates smoothly, it promotes the inward convergence and smooth descent of qi, enabling the internal retention of blood, spirit, and emotions, which nourishes the internal organs and moistens the meridian-sinews. Conversely, dysfunction of this "closing" mechanism results in a disturbance of yin and yang, a mixture of cold and heat, and disharmony of qi and blood. It is proposed that "failure of jueyin to properly close and descend" is a core pathomechanism of glaucoma. From the perspective of spatiotemporal theory, clinical treatment should focus on "regulating the closing function of jueyin and harmonizing yin and yang". The modified Wumei Pill (乌梅丸) is recommended to adjust the ascending-descending and entering-exiting dynamics of jueyin qi transformation, thereby restoring its free flow, achieving yin and yang balance, and ensuring nourishment to the ocular system.

ObjectiveTo investigate the feasibility and safety of endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) combined with oral cholangiopancreatography in the treatment of major duodenal papilla gallbladder polyps. MethodsA retrospective analysis was performed for the clinical data of eight patients with choledocholithiasis and gallbladder polyps who underwent ERCP and combined with oral cholangiopancreatography for major duodenal papilla cholecystectomy in Center of Digestive Endoscopy, Jilin People’s Hospital, from May 2022 to June 2024, and related data were collected, including the success rate of surgery, the technical success rate of gallbladder polyp removal, the superselective method of cystic duct, the time of operation, the time of gallbladder polyp removal, and surgical complications. ResultsBoth the success rate of surgery and the technical success rate of gallbladder polyp removal reached 100%, and of all eight patients, three patients used guide wire to enter the gallbladder under direct view, while five patients received oral cholangiopancreatography to directly enter the gallbladder. The time of operation was 51.88±12.34 minutes, and the time of gallbladder polyp removal was 23.13±10.94 minutes. The diameter of gallbladder polyp was 2 — 8 mm, and pathological examination showed inflammatory polyps in three patients, adenomatous polyps in one patient, and cholesterol polyps in four patients. There were no complications during or after surgery. The patients were followed up for 2 — 27 months after surgery, and no recurrence of gallbladder polyp was observed. ConclusionOral cholangiopancreatography is technically safe and feasible in endoscopic major duodenal papilla cholecystectomy.

BACKGROUND:The use of 3D-printed patient-specific instruments in opening wedge high tibial osteotomy has advantages such as shorter operative time, fewer fluoroscopic exposures, and higher correction accuracy. However, previous studies have reported issues such as significant damage to surrounding soft tissues and improper fixation of the plates. OBJECTIVE:To investigate the clinical efficacy of using 3D-printed patient-specific instruments combined with customized locking plate in opening wedge high tibial osteotomy for the treatment of knee osteoarthritis. METHODS:A total of 20 patients diagnosed with knee osteoarthritis were divided into the 3D group(n=10)and the conventional group(n=10)according to surgical methods. The 3D group underwent opening wedge high tibial osteotomy using 3D-printed patient-specific instruments combined with customized locking plate, while the conventional group underwent opening wedge high tibial osteotomy using conventional methods. The operative time, fluoroscopic exposures, incision length,pre-and postoperative hip-knee-ankle angle, medial proximal tibial angle, posterior tibial slope, the difference between the planned and actual correction angle, preoperative and 1,3,6 months postoperative knee range of motion and Lysholm score, and incidence of complications were analyzed and compared between the two groups. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:(1)The operative time and fluoroscopic exposures were significantly shorter in the 3D group compared to the conventional group, with a statistically significant difference(P<0.001).(2)Both groups showed a significant improvement in postoperative hip-knee-ankle angle and medial proximal tibial angle compared to preoperative values, with a statistically significant difference(P<0.001),while there was no significant change in posterior tibial slope. In the 3D group, the postoperative hip-knee-ankle angle, medial proximal tibial angle, and posterior tibial slope differed from their respective preoperative planned values by(-0.22±0.72)°,(-0.20±0.73)°,and(0.23±0.37)°,but the differences were not statistically significant. The difference between the planned and actual correction angle of 3D group was significantly smaller than that of conventional group(P<0.05).(3)Both groups showed a gradual increase in knee range of motion and Lysholm scores after surgery(P<0.001).Compared to the conventional group, the 3D group had superior knee range of motion at 1 and 3 months postoperatively,as well as a higher Lysholm score at 1 month postoperatively, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).There were no statistically significant differences in Lysholm score at 3 months and knee range of motion and Lysholm score at 6 months between the two groups(P>0.05).(4)Complications occurred in neither groups.(5)The above results indicate that both 3D-printed patient-specific instruments combined with customized locking plate and conventional methods have good clinical efficacy. However, the former has a shorter operative time, fewer fluoroscopic exposures, and faster postoperative recovery of knee joint function.Additionally,3D-printed patient-specific instruments can achieve preoperative planning accurately.

To identify clinical viral diseases characterized by reproductive disorders and abortion,a quadruple qPCR method was established for simultaneous detection of PRV,PPV,PCV2 and AS-FV.Four pairs of specific primers and probes were designed according to the conserved genes of four viruses in the NCBI gene bank. The annealing temperature, primer concentration and probe concentration of the reaction were optimized, and the specificity, sensitivity and repeatability of the method were tested. The results showed that the method could not detect other pathogens except the target ones. The minimum detection limit of PRV,PPV,PCV2 and ASFV was 10 copies.Intra-group and inter-group repeatability tests showed that the coefficient of variation of C,values be-tween different batches was less than 3%,indicating that the method was highly specific, sensitive and stable.Establishment of an efficient and sensitive quadruple qPCR method provides technical reference for the clinical prevention and control of porcine pseudorabies virus disease, porcine circo-virus disease, porcine parvovirus disease and African swine fever.

This study investigates the effects of pseudorabies virus(PRV)infection on the antiviral immune signaling pathways and type Ⅰ interferon factors in mouse trigeminal ganglion(TG)cells. In this experiment, primary TG cells were infected with PRV at a multiplicity of infection(MOI)of 1,while mice were infected via a drop-nose method using 106,29 TCID50 of PRV.Real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR(qPCR),Western blot and ELISA were used to assess gene tran-scription,protein expression, and the secretion of IFN-α and IFN-β.The results indicated that PRV infection of mouse TG primary cells led to alterations in the gene and protein expression of RIG-Ⅰ,MAVS,and IRF3,as well as the phosphorylation of IRF3 and IKBα both in vivo and ex vivo.ELISA results showed that PRV infection could regulate the secretion of IFN-α and IFN-β in mouse primary TG cells and mouse TGs.The results of RIG-Ⅰ signaling pathway-related proteins and the secretion of IFN-a and IFN-β were analyzed using Western blot after using siRNA to interfere with RIG-Ⅰ expression in TG cells. The results showed that siRIG-Ⅰ successfully inter-fered with RIG-Ⅰ protein expression in TG cells and caused changes in the expression of down-stream proteins such as MAVS and IRF3,and also regulated the secretion of IFN-α and IFN-β in TG cells.Furthermore, the results indicated that PRV infection induced the expression of RIG-Ⅰ in mouse TG progenitor cells, regulating the antiviral immune response of type Ⅰ interferon factors in TG cells through the RIG-Ⅰ-MAVS-IRF3 signaling axis.Notably,PRV inhibited the expression of IRF3 in TG cells while significantly upregulating the expression of IFN-β during the later stages of infection, which may be an important factor in the important reason for the rapid mortality ob-served in mice during the late stages of PRV infection. This experiment elucidates part of the anti-viral immune mechanism mediated by the RIG-Ⅰ-MAVS-IRF3 signaling pathway in regulating type Ⅰ interferon factor after PRV infection of mouse TG cells,as well as the discovery of differ-ent trends of IRF3 protein changes in vivo and ex vivo, laying the groundwork for future in-depth studies.

To establish a TaqMan-based multiplex RT-qPCR method for the identification of Japa-nese encephalitis virus(JEV),Porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus(PRRSV),and Classical swine fever virus(CSFV),this study designed and synthesized three pairs of specific primers and probes based on the conserved sequences of JEV E,PRRSV ORF6,and CSFV E2 a-vailable in the NCBI GenBank.By optimizing the reaction system and protocol,a multiplex RT-qPCR method for detecting these three viruses was developed and applied to the detection of clini-cal samples. The results showed that the established TaqMan multiplex RT-qPCR specifically am-plified the gene fragments of JEV,PRRSV,and CSFV,and did not amplify other non-target genes, indicating good specificity of the method.Intra-assay and inter-assay repeatability tests showed that the coefficient of variation(Cv)values were all below 3%,demonstrating that the method has ex-cellent repeatability.Sensitivity tests revealed that the minimum detectable amount for the recom-binant plasmids of the three viruses was 100 copies/pL.Using the established method,a total of 969 samples, including blood, aborted fetuses, semen, and deceased pigs, from 26 pig farms in Guizhou Province were tested. The detection rates were 34.3%(332/969)for JEV,28.3%(274/969)for PRRSV,and 19.8%(192/969)for CSFV.The co-infection rates were 10.1%(98/969)for JEV and PRRSV,12.1%(117/969)for JEV and CSFV,and 14.6%(141/969)for CSFV and PRRSV.Additionally, the triple co-infection rate of JEV,PRRSV,and CSFV was 7.9%(77/969).These results indicate that the TaqMan multiplex RT-qPCR method developed in this study is ef-fective for detecting these three viruses in pig farms, providing technical support for identifying vi-ral causes of reproductive disorders.

Distal transradial access(dTRA)was first applied in coronary heart disease intervention by Kiemeneij in 2017,dTRA has become an important technological advancement of coronary interventional therapy. This approach, performed by puncturing the distal radial artery within the anatomical snuffbox or Hegu point, significantly reduces the incidence of radial artery occlusion compared with conventional transradial access and shortens compression time to 2-3 hours after procedure.Clinical evidence confirms the efficacy of dTRA in facilitating complex percutaneous coronary interventions, including stenting of left main coronary artery bifurcation lesions and recanalization of chronic total occlusions. Its application has progressively expanded to neurointerventional procedures(cerebral angiography),tumor embolization(transarterial chemoembolization for hepatocellular carcinoma),and peripheral vascular interventions.Despite increasing clinical adoption,dTRA still faces challenges, including a long learning curve and relatively lower initial puncture success rates.Combined with the current paucity of robust evidence-based data, the viability of dTRA as a routine interventional access route remains a subject of debate. This article systematically reviews the anatomical landmarks, clinical advantages, limitations, and multidisciplinary applications of dTRA.This article aims to provide practical guidance for interventionalists and promote the standardization of this technique in daily clinical practice.
